"Oh. Thank you." He prepares himself a plate and carries it to the counter.
---
He clings tighter to her. "I'm trying."
---
And Lindsey opens the door to whoever it may be! "Hello. How may I help you?"

"You can sit by me and eat." Munch.
--
She kisses his cheek. "I love you."
--
It's a skanky crow. It scuttles in between Lindsey's feet when he opens the door.

"Yes Mister Pendergraff." Bradley moves to the table.
---
"I love you too."
---
Lindsey has worked for Byron too long to overlook that. He frowns and kicks at the bird. "No, don't come in. Out."

He tries to ignore the awkwardness and eats.
--
"He can't do anything that can't be undone." She has no idea, really, but this sounds nice!
--
The crow is offended. It clings to his pants with its little feet and caws at him.

Bradley also eats.

"Are you sure?"

"No." Lindsey tries to walk outside with the bird.

"This is good."
--
"..Are you thinking about happy things yet?"
--
It caws again. If it could pout, it probably would.
There are more birds standing around the lawn like little hobos, chatting amongst themselves. A few of them eye the door and one tries to flap its way in.

"..I'm trying."
---
Lindsey's eyes widen. He tries to dart back in and shut the door.

Nom nom.
--
"Think about your motorcycle. That's nice."
--
The crow on his leg caws happily. One of the flappers collides with the closed door. A handful hop up onto window ledges and try to peer inside. Nosey buggers!

NOM.
---
"We left that behind."
---
Lindsey glances at the hallway with a panicked look in his eyes then reaches for the bird.

SALAD.
--
"We can get it anytime."
--
The crow detaches itself from his pants and skitters towards a chair, cawing loudly.

Bradley thinks this is strange.
---
Small nod.
---
Lindsey mutters, "He'll be so angry about this. ..Or dissect it." He chases after the bird.

Russ is pretending everything is totally fine. "What are you going to do once we get to that island?"
--
"We can do anything anytime we want."
--
The bird rounds the chair and gallops towards the hall. If this was a horse race, it would be losing.

"I will continue performing my job."
---
...
---
Lindsey is actually a very lazy servant when he can get away with it. He looks around frantically, sees nothing he can use to help get the bird, then decides to spend his time making up reasons a bird could get in the house. He investigates the chimney.

"Won't there be other servants there?"
--
Snug.
--
The bird stops when it notices a lack of thundering footsteps behind it. It peers around and struts on down the hall, muttering to itself. It stops to tap on any closed doors it comes across.

"I will assist."
---
"You should probably get something to eat."
---
One of the first door's to open belongs to Thomas! He opens the door and looks around.
Meanwhile, Lindsey has discovered a poker by the fire! He starts tiptoeing back down the hall.
