Whatever happens in the storyline it promises to be an interesting Halloween. This will be my first Gaia event, so I'm really looking forward to it!
Oh, I know, Jack will turn out to be an alien!

The storyline updates during events are cool. The events themselves can be cool too, depending on how they're done. The Christmas, New Years and Valentines events were pretty good. They had a separate forum dedicated to them and it was pretty fun. The Easter event was pretty boring though. You just surfed every two minutes or so to collect things.

I heard that last year people went trick-or-treating to the shops. Some of those event items are in good demand now.
I'm really hoping there will be a story update and a party atmosphere, but to be honest, I want to see what they do about giveaways.
It seems like they're taking so much away. And the result is rampant inflation. I am beginning to suspect that it's a move to drive up donations, and that kinda irks me. Why don't they just come out with a straightforward request for more funds if that's the case?

I wonder if a police style character here would work. Like mods but more obvious, and they could dish out fines or arrest (temporarily ban) accounts for less serious, but still annoying things.
Bring in random crime, items being stolen by criminals (AI of course!) and it'd be pretty fun.
If someone is constantly hurling abuse at someone in the towns, they could be fined or arrested right there. Of course they could run away so something like... once the screen starts flashing red and blue (you've been busted), if you quit instantly trying to run away, a much bigger fyne could be issued!
I dunno, I was just thinking, it could be fun... would be a b***h to set up tho!

Why don't they just come out with a straightforward request for more funds if that's the case? I missed the Holloweed event. I didn't sign up until November. The thing about inflation is that there's nothing the admins can really do about it. The price of non-store items is completely user driven. As long as people are willing to buy Dark Halos for 40k, people will sell them for 40k. Its the same for all the jacked up prices. If people stopped buying, sellers would have to lower prices. It sucks, but there's not much that can be done about it, except for individuals to take a stand and refuse to buy or sell at inflated prices.

RR, I'm not getting it.. .
You mean you'd let people steal items from other people's accounts and then arrest them?
Or you want random "bad guys" like NPCs that you could arrest and fine?
Or you want mods to get serious about stopping the greedy inflationists and their even filthier guilds?

No I meant gaia itself stealing things. You could get a reward for catching a burgler who roammmm around randomly at night stealing small unimportant objects razz
It wouldn't work, but it'd be neat to see something like that...

Selling store items at inflated prices is crazy. I mean, you can buy them in the store. Where the price never changes. Who would buy a store item for more than its worth?

people should be banned for selling store items at inflated prices... And inflation guilds should be immediately pulled. Lost 10k for starting the guild? Too bad!
I mean, they banned charity owners for unknowingly accepting botted gold, for goodness sake! Yet they let this kind of thing go on.
And did you notice you can't buy starter items at Barton Boutique any longer? They're gone! So if you decide, "oh, darn, I wish I still had that starter shirt," you have to go to the Market Place for it.
I'm telling ya, it's a conspiracy.

Overpriced store items should simply show up in red. A nice big "EXPENSIVE" banner and it'd soon stop women... erm I mean idiots from doing it.
