*Mystina tilted her head* Oooh! Currency! We have some old pieces of it that some humans brought into Faerie in a musem... It has pictures of men on it, and they're green. *She said with a nod*

And you deal cards? I've seen decks of them but I've never played any... *She giggled* Faeries aren't much for games you can play sitting down, really...

*Mystina then nodded to Gunsinger* Yes sir, I do. *She bounced a little as she said it, then sat down next to Felicity*

"Ah. Well, that's understandable. If I had wings I don't think I'd be on the ground very much, either," Felicity said, sitting down again. "I could teach you some games if you wanted..." she started, but stopped once she realized Mystina was fading away. She was used to it happening by now, and just frowned slightly in disappointment.

"Hm. Maybe next time.... And no, actually," she added in response to Gunsinger's question. "I try to avoid it."

he glances over as Mystina answers in the afirmative, but she dissapears so when Felicity answers he merely states*

Suit yourself

*and pours himself another shot..*

You were in the middle of a game when you came in?

*gunsinger inquires betwwin sips.*
PostPosted: Fri Nov 10, 2006 8:50 pm

"Yes, again," Felicity answers somewhat irritably, then considers it for a moment.

"I guess I shouldn't be surprised; I'm generally at that table for most of the day." She was actually contractually obligated to be there a certain amount of time each day, during peak hours for the establishment.

"You seem to keep appearing here in the middle of something, too," she noted, looking back at him. "Almost makes me wish this place'd let us control when we came and went."

Well, that not being an option, I guess we'll just have to adapt.

*he finishes his glass and sets it down, turning toface her with his arms crossed*

So were the stakes high, or was it just a.. "nice friendly game"

*he eyes her cooly trying to better make out what kind of pwerson she was. she didn't seem all bad.... but then, that could just be the skirt talking.*

She shrugs, leaning on the table with an elbow.

"I don't think you could call it 'friendly,' really.... We were just getting started, though, and none of them were familiar with me, so it was considerably friendlier than it could be."

She smiles slightly, but not quite happily, almost laughing at herself.

"I should probably get out of town soon, though, before the unfriendly sorts find me. I've been there too long as it is."

*Gunsinger nods grimmly*

Never know when you're going to cheat the wrong person... some might outright kill you.... or do worse.

*he shifts his arms and begins to strok his mustaches*

Or thwey send a person like me..... probably the best cenario for a bad situation.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 10, 2006 9:35 pm

Felicity frowns slightly. "In a situation like that, there is no good solution, really, except to avoid it altogether."

"But I understand what you mean. I've just been lucky so far to get out of it before any lasting harm is done...." She shrugs, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"There are certain parties, though, who won't waste time talking the next time they see me. They're the ones I'm most worried about." She wasn't sure why she was saying all this, especially to someone like Gunsinger, but she didn't see any harm in it at the moment. It was nice to talk to someone, at least.

*Gunsinger thinks for a moment*

How much do you usually make doing this?

*he moves behind the bar and replaces the bottle, then sets about cleaning the glass*

Roughly.

"Per day? I don't know, it depends. Sometimes 50, sometimes 150 if it's busy..." She pauses for a moment, thinking, but fails to come up with a more specific answer and shrugs it off. "Most of it goes to the owner of the place, anyway."

She looks back at him curiously. "Why do you ask?"

*he moves over to Felicity's table and pulls a card out of his pocket, handing it to her... there is no name on the card, just a set of numbers*

If you ever get in too deep, slip a note under the door bearing that that number with your name, what you need done, and where you can be found.

*he steps away from her and looks at the door.*

If I am still alive, someone there will know where to find me. and I will find you.

*He looks back at her his expression is different for a moment but returns to its cold demeanor.*

But I'm not cheap. And the amount per job is on my terms and not subject to negotiation. Understood?
PostPosted: Fri Nov 10, 2006 11:26 pm

Felicity turns the card over, examining it, then nods. "Understood.."

She looks up at him, smiling slightly. "Hopefully I won't have to use it... but thanks." Mentally, she thought for a second about using the card just to find out if he would be alive or not in 1887, but decided against it. If he was still there, it would be bothering him for no good reason. And if he wasn't... maybe it was better if she didn't know. She looks back down at the card, fading away before saying anything else.

*he wasn't sure why he cared enough to give a common cheat his calling card.... but it didn't hurt. If he was still alive in 10 years he would most likely be working, and he could always use clients, tho he did tend to charge more for body-guard work.. and even more if she wanted him to just make the problem "go away," But, if she needed to hire him that badly she should beable to come up with that kind of money fairly shortly... he had no doubts. And if he were dead by then. well suffice it to say it would be far beyond his concern.*

*He holds out his hand for her to shake, a rare occurence usually reserved for meetings where he knows the person is unarmed.*

Good. Put'er there.

*but as he reaches out she fades away...... leaveing Gunsinger alone in the empty Barroom. He shakes his head and heads for the key wrack... no need to stay here any longer.. he selects his key and puts it to the lock... exiting to his own time.*

Felicity fades in for the fourth time in as many weeks (by her time), but for once not in the middle of a game. She is instead at a table carefuly touching up the back of one of her playing cards, blotting out the tip of a small leaf in the design with white ink.

She is so engrossed in this activity that it takes her a while to realize she's faded in, and by this time she's become so familiar with the Brink that when she realizes where she is, she just sighs and sets the ink brush down on the table (the bottle was apparently too far away to fade in with her), blowing carefully on the back of the card to dry it.

"Couldn't let me bring the rest of the cards? I need to get this done...." she mumbled under her breath, not entirely liking the Brink anymore. She was aware it probably wasn't a sentient being, but on the offchance that it was, she felt the need to express discontent.

*Captain Mercutio Cross fades in near the door and after takeing a moment to get his bearings he swaggers towards the bar*

'allo Brink, Have me a drink? don't mind if I do...

*he begins to rummage behind the bar then stops.. turns around slowly and reguards the young woman with his one heavy lidded green eye.*

Well.. Ho there, lass! How d'ye do this fine... er... existance?

*he says uncaping a bottle of Captain Morgan's finest spiced rum and downing a swig and moveing over to the taable where she is sitting, swooping up her hand*

M'name's Mercutio Cross.... Captain. Mercutio Cross. at your service.

*he bows and kisses her hand, then plops down in a chair and puts his boots up on the table*
