"Because a pair of stupid dragons underestimate themselves and what I can do."
A small smile at Bode.
"Go on back inside, tell everyone that everything is alright, okay? I got to go and do soemthing else in teh very bottom of the fortress, that's not for little girls to know or see."
And he walked back inside, brumbling somethign about arrogant dragons and thier infinite stupidity..and down stairs, then pulling a torch down, opening another passage and another set of stairs, down to a place that was filled with the sweet smells of death. undead skeletons and zombies moved about, alchemical tables and scribing desks scattered around a pool of blood, the outer edge marked with arcane sigils. robes figures, in all varities of color, did thier work here.
"We have an Oracle to locate. Soemthign Undead, or great intellect, has apparently taken her."
Don't need help, huh. well maybe if he did find her he'd sell the dragon in information then.

Eliot thought for a moment...Slow them down...
'If there is a way to stop the arrows the mechanism will be on the other side of the hallway."
She felt like she had to yell over the sound of the arrows hitting the floor.
"I know your strength is down, I'm smaller, can you keep me safe long enough to get to the other end? It may save some of your energy, we don't know what might come after this."
She hoped she was fats enoguh to get to the other end...

She smiled. "Okay Mr. Malik." And sh was off back into the house, hold her arms out and making a buzzing noise with her lips.
Warren sighed. Yeah...he supposed he could try that.
"Okay. It will probably tingle though, kind of like you're foots falling asleep...just all over." He held out his hands to either side of her body, and muttered a low incantation. A red sphere seemed to shimmer over top of her for a moment, then winked out.
"Okay. Go ahead and try...no promisses though.
Who notices a few dwarves here and there not showing up for work? Oh nobody! That was the beauty of it all. Oh yes. A few souls here and there just gone. And then soon they are forgotton and he could do it again.
"Oh, My Dear Meilikki. Isn't it just so wonderful? And they couldn't see it comming! You couldn't see it comming either!"
There was another occupant of the room this day. A dawrf no less. His skin had the dull greysih blue colour of a corpse, and his eyes were glazed and white. But he stood there, his jaw slack. Just standing...
"Come, come, Burnie. We will get you settled with the others, shall we?" He laid a boney hand on the dwarf's cold shoulder and showed him the way out.

Eliots ears twitched. As sensative as Morelle's body was she didn't feel a tingling, she felt like she was beign stapped with sharp sticks all over her body. Not much to she supposed.
She walked, skipped more like, up to the hallway door. She took a deep breath, assesed the arrows for a moment, and when she found an opeing she dived right in.
Eliot jumped, and dodged. She didn't want to test the protection warren had given her, just incase it didn't work. Because of course she wouldn't be able to try again, she'd be dead.
Once she hit the floor the arrows seemed to come at her faster, she had to really concentrate. It was staggering just how many arrows there were, hundreds were flying through tthe air at any given time.
The hallway didn't look so long when she was on the other side of the door.
Arrows flipped by her ears, a few times she was thrown off guard by arrows hitting the floor close to her feet. She even jumped off of some, letting her gains some distance.
She felt arrows comeing close, but they always just nicked her, or just missed, she hoped Warren's shlled would hold up. Finally jumping to the end of the arrows and thudiding her head against the door, shekept herself pushed tight against the wall and inched alon it. Hoping to catch sent as to where somone may have last been, to turn on the trigger.
She had to twist and turn several times before she caught a scent at all. She followed it, it was very faint, but it was there. Jumping onto a flower pot beside thefair wall she looked inside.
In the lip was a small depression, just large enough for a finger to reach in, and push. She worked one of her paws into the depression, and pushed.
The arrows all clattered to the floor. Silence rang in the hallway. She sighed. happy that she was able to do it!
"Warren I found the trigger!" she pushed her ears up proudly. She lazily jumped out of the pot, her head hels high. On the way into the pot she had been carefull not to touch anything, but on the way out she hadn't bothered.
She brushed severeal flowers, they were still swaying as she hit the floor.

Malik's Necromancers did thier work. thier power, amplified by the massive necromantic power in the blood pool, reached out..but not diectly from them, oh no that wouldn't do if an Oracle was involved. through thier pets. a simple set of spells, really. Voice of the dead, to make thier words come out of undead mouths. and dark emanations, to infuse thier undead pets with the proper amounts nad needs of necromantic energy to send forth thier spells. thus the seeking spells to find the Oracle by locating the highest concentration of necromantic power other than thier own was sent out through the dead, which the Oracle had no eyes to see.
Malik grinned lightly.
"This should prove most enlightening. Now back to your other tasks."

Okay...so house shaking equaled dragon battle apparently through word of Bode. But that did little to faze either elf really, other than to annoy Piper...only because she knew Malik would probably not be too much the happy camper. But currently, her father was keeping her mind occupied. Kieran and Piper had taken to sparring again. Currently it was going nicely between them, Piper holding her own against Kieran and Kieran actually going a little on Malik's route of teaching. But they kept up a nice steady fast pace until metal clashed together, one pushing against the other.
"Fast learner as ever, aren't you Pip?"
"I have the best teachers, what can I say?"
"Flattery gets you nowhere. And good, because if you're that well set I'm switching up on you now."
"Wait, you're doing what?"
"Just be ready." And he gave a jerk forward, pushing her back a step and taking a back step as well, hand reaching to his dagger, unsheathing it and arching it and his scimitar down toward her.
She reacted just as well in quick movement, reached for her own dagger strapped to her boot, arching it up with her own scimitar in mirrored fashion to Kieran, to have the four blades meets with a resounding clang of elvish metals. And they stood sword locked once more, scimitars and daggers pressuring against each other.
"Now learn to do that without warning..."
"Then don't warn me next time."
"Very well." Kieran slid his blade along hers, breaking their lock and he went on offense. Her reaction was a little slow in getting defensive all of a sudden to his strikes and this time giving no warning he dropped his dagger and rushed forward to close the space between them, grabbing her by the front of her tunic. Yanking her forward while bringing his knee up to her gut, though he didn't connect as hard as he could have, and used the going momentum to tumble her over his shoulder to let her smack the ground behind him.
Piper hit the ground with the sound of dead weight and she reached out to the dagger her father dropped, only to have her wrist pinned down by a boot and to have him place his scimitar to her throat as he pivoted back to look down at her, smiling.
And he stepped back off of her and to the side, sheathing his sword and reaching down to pick up his dagger sheathing it as well. " One, never assume an enemy will only use a weapon against you. Two, don't think they are cautious to get close enough to lay hands on you or hidden weapons. Three, don't believe they are mindless of where dropped weapons fall, and four, don't think that just because you're a woman anyone will go easy on you, you're still the enemy to them."
Damn it. She sat up, hand clutching to her stomach lightly. Another sore part to add to the seemingly ever growing list of minor injuries and bruises. Oh Malik would have a field day teasing her...or getting into it with Kieran about bruising her up. "I just can't win or get close to winning, can I?"
"Kieran only gave a chuckle, looking down to her as she sat on the floor recovering. "Just have to keep practicing."

Warren had already picked himself up and ran after Eliot. He bent down, swooped her up iin the crook of his arm, and kept on running. And why was the hallway in fornt of them so long?
So that the felsh eating scarab beatles could have a chance to catch up with them, that's why. Warren, wearing notihng but soft leaher boots, padded easily down the hall, or he would have had he not been completely exaughsted. He panted as he ran, adn scarabs clickking their little legs against the floor and catching up quickly.
"I hope you don't have a creep complex, Eliot." And indeed, the creepys were crawling much too fast for his likeing.
The caught up with him, bit right through his elather shoe and into his heal. He yelled, and succeded in blasting away a few of the creatures with what remained of his energy.
In a few more seconds, they'd be on to him again. Gees, his reserves were running dangerously low, both magic and engery wise, and he was not particularily good at thinking fast.
His problem was solved however, but a foot and a hlaf slit gouched into the hallway floor. looking down, it seemed like the hole just went on forever...he jumped the the little divide, but the beatles could not.
He slumped agianst the wall, breathing hard.
He peered at his human skin on the wall. Watching the smuges intently. "Oh, Mister Dvinn. What are you planning?" He could see Malik, certainly because Malik was very much alive. As to what he was doing he didn't know. He was using the dead, and there was no future for those who's time had stopped.
He turned around, ran his boney finger along Meilikki's collar bone. "We may have to move sooner than expected, dear dear Meilikki. Oh yes. Either that," he chuckled. "Or change our plans"

Eliots eyes were round...very round.
"Bugs...lots and lots of bugs..." She had never seen so many bugs, and she lived in a forest for most of her life, and there is no shortage of bugs there.
'I saw them, they were coming out of that plant! I couldn't even smell them...the scent was masked by the flowers..."
She was upset that it had been her that caused the bugs to go after them. And she was sure that Warren was completly sapped of strength now, he had done...something...to blast the bugs back.
She also notice, however, that Warren had picked her up instead of letting her run on her own, she was much faster than him after all....
She also noticed just how comfortable she was in his arms...She shook her head violently, Morelle chucckled.
"So, where to next?"

Warren guldped, trying to catch his breath. He wasn't mucht for runnig either...so what was he good at? Gees.
He let go of eliot, holding her up was starting to make his arms shake. "Where...to...next..." he panted. "Um.." They had a chouice now, left or right down the hall way. One way would elad to his magisty's bed chambers, the other would lead...well he didn't rightly know.
"It's guess work from this point on. No one was ever allowed in the king's chambers." Warren used the wall to hoist himself up on shakey legs. I suppose we'll just head left."

"I'm going to be sore later..." A little whiny yes, but after being put to the ground, thrown around, hit on and banged up as many times as Piper had in the last span of time, anyone would be so.
Kieran just laughed again. "You're not that bad off, maybe a little bruised up but nothing bad. Believe me, if I intended to hurt you, you wouldn't be sitting up right now." Reaching a hand down to her, he helped her to her feet, arm around her shoulders as she stood slightly hunched, arm still grasped around her midsection. "But what is practice without rewards, right? Look here." Reaching to a pouch that was connected to his belt, all under his top tunic, he withdrew a closed fist. "A little device I made to bring comfort in places where the sky goes unseen. I think you'll enjoy it." He opened his fist to reveal a what looked like a little mithril dish with a dome of thin cut clear crystal over top. Around the edge of the dome in the middle was what looked to be a turning device. Within the center of the dome swirled a brilliant little ball of extremely bright light, but it didn't seem to bother the eyes either.
Piper blinked at it and took it in her own hands. "A sun spot holder?" She inspected the little thing, gold in her eyes reflecting the light slightly from it.
"No ordinary one. This one, I've modified. Thus the ring around the center. Go on, give it a turn or two, you'll fell and hear it click when you've turned enough." He was all smiles about it too. And he watched as she gave the ring a turn, the little crystal dome shimmering and changing colors, then the 'sun spot' in the center glowing brighter and emitting a great amount of light. Though at her look of confusion, he pointed up. "Look at the ceiling."
A blink before she looked up and smiled at what greeted her eyes. Projected on the ceiling as well as on the walls slightly, was a full starry night sky, complete with a full moon. The sky...how long had it been since she had seen it? Sure, it wasn't the real thing, but damn close. And she only became more speechless as she continued to look up and her father reached over to give the device a few more clicks, each turn and click of the device, bringing a new phase of sky. On the ceiling, night faded to dawn, to day to dusk, back to night. "Ed' i' taur ar' ithil..."
"I knew you'd like it."

Eliot almost wilted when Warren put her down, its sucked that he couldn't hold something as tiny as Morelle, clothes must be torture on this guy...this thought suddenly braught to mind a Warren with no clothes on. Eliot silently smacked herself in the head.
Stop it! Your a wolf!! Morelle laughed harder. Was that your doing Morelle? I didn't need that! Stop! She smacked herself again...ouch
"Okay well the chambers woudl probably be our best bet now wouldn't it? If the map is anywhere I think it would be somehwere rather personal, that always feels safest."
"We've alrady passed arrows and bugs what more can there be?" She began walking in the direction of the chambers.

She went the wrong way.
Her little paws hit a floor tile, which automaticly depressed. There was an audible click, and then an odd, tinkly chiming.
Eliot looked up in the direction of the sound and saw thousans of long stagilmites. Or was it stagilcites? Warren couldn't remeber.
"Eliot, get out of there!" There was a cracking sound, and one fell from the ceiling. It landed about three feet away from Eliot, and shattered into hundreds of sharp shards. Glass, they were made out of glass, and still Eliot stood frozen.
"Eliot! MOVE!"

Eliot stood frozen.
Shards of glass came slideing across the floor to bounce off her feet. It wasn't till then that she actually moved, jumping away in a quick, very cat like, way. The glass just kept coming.
TMore of the glass spikes (wolves never really had a name for them, they knew they where dangerous and that was about it) were falling because of the virbtation sof the last one.
Eliot skittered franticly, running to hide herself behind Warren's feet. The glass couldn't reach them there.
She looked up to see Warren's stern face looking back. Her ears wilted.

Warren stared down at her. "Let's be a little more careful, shall we?" He shook his head, and with a slight limp, wandered across to the other side of the hallway. "Right it is then."
They made their way carfeully across the ahllway now, looking under their feet before htey stepped, looking inside flower pots and watching over their heads. There didn't seemed to be anything though.
Then they came to the double doors of Dimitri's sleeping chamber. Warren looked at the door, slumped his shoulders. "I am beggining tow odner if this is all worth it. Even if it is D'vinn who destroyed the Watch Tower, I can't fight him."

"Why do you say that?"
Eliot was confused, and a bit angry, she risked her neck almost getting pummled by arrows, was chased by a bunch of nasty looking bugs, and then almost had her face done in by falling glass!
And now he didn't know if it was worth it?
Eliot shook her head in angry. if i were a wolf I'd maul the guy...maybe i could settle for doing a but of damage to his ankles.
"If i just did all this for nothing..." She glanced at warrens' ankels.
