:::Kal's voice stopped being angry. It was genuine again, controlled. And serious:::

Well, it happened to you. What's to stop it from happening to her?

:::He blinked once or twice. He's talking about her father...isn't he? But then he realizes that there IS a danger... that neither of them can prepare for, there in the Brink. Did Andy know?:::

Has Luana told you... about her locket?

:::Kal's shoulder's sagged, and he sighed:::

Well, then I'm afraid there are more secrets between the two of you than she lets on.

:::He nodded and tried to think of where to start:::

Has anyone told you what's going on in the Brink? About the power struggle here?

All of us are. Even you, whether you know it or not. But Luana may be in over her head. You may have noticed that the Brink of Time isn't your average bar. :::Not that I know what an average bar is like, but I bet it isn't a time/space anomoly:::

Apparently there's a god called the Seraphim. I guess he's more like an angel... but don't let the name fool you. I'm not sure being an angel is the good thing the bible makes it out to be. He's been attacking people here, individually. Abducting us, trying to get us to join him, to... gain control of the Brink. For what purpose, I couldn't tell you. But imagine the ability to control this place. I'm sure it's worth something. Apparently it's worth killing for, because he's murdered one of us already.

:::Kal looks over his shoulder at the flower wreath, that marked the spot of Hajime's death:::

She wears a locket... I noticed her wearing it the first time- uhm. The first time I saw her wearing the spandex suit. She told me an angel gave it to her.

:::Kal runs his fingers over the top of his head, through his hair:::

It turns out that she was 'summoned' out of the Brink, to a gray place. The same kind that other people around here have been 'kidnapped' to by the Seraphim. Except that this 'angel' of hers said that he was her gaurdian and that she should wear the locket for him. That the locket would allow him to see everything that goes on in her own time, and whenever she comes to the Brink. He basically told her that evil things were going on here, and that she would be his spy.

I'm under the impression that her angel is the Seraphim, using her like a pawn. When I came to this conclusion, I convinced her to take it off so that I could explain it without the 'angel' overhearing us.

:::Kal glances off to one side:::

I don't know... the people here are trying. We don't know enough about the Brink itself to help ourselves.

:::Then he looks back directly at Andy:::

As for Luana... she'd be in a lot better shape if she didn't have to wear that locket. :::He clentches his fists::: I hate that thing. It's like looking at a timebomb sitting around her neck that we can't get rid of. And everything we do, we know that damned angel is watching...
