I was walking along the side of the road, kicking rocks ahead of me, when I saw a small lake with a Chinchou in it. I ran over to it and sent out Snorunt. “Snorunt, use Headbutt!” I said. Snorunt launched itself at Chinchou and hit it. Chinchou retaliated with Thunder. Lightning bolts crackled from its antennae.
“Snorunt, use Crunch!” I said. Snorunt jumped forward and bit down on Chinchou. Chinchou retaliated with Thunder once again. “Snorunt, use Shadow Ball!” I said. A ball of dark energy appeared in front of Snorunt and it pushed it towards Chinchou. I threw a Pokéball and Chinchou disappeared inside of it.
Shake, shake, shake, ding! I picked up the Pokéball and slipped it into my pocket, then continued on my way.

I've seen new members pull off missions more extravagant than this one with just as simple an objective. Give it some story.

*gets out of the tree by jumping down, and gently shoves Umbreon who was sleeping a few paces away*

*I heal my pokemon and switch out Ninetales for Umbreon, then walk into HQ*
