"Which is exactly the point D'vinn." Mahlari had use for that kind of thing. Then again everyone did. But whoever was smart enough to go after it first was going to win...drow were oppotunistic, of course they went after things first. A dismissive wave of his hand. "You can tell her, but she won't believe you...he lost everything he had going for him when he left. And it's nearly impossible to work your way back up from the bottom to mean anything at his age."

Though he did give an amused sort of smirk. "This is all true...but do you not believe that I can be civil and even if he was the agressor that I wouldn't have the means to either avoid him or restrain him first. In his younger years, I very much did beat the hell out of him at a transgression, but there are things you do to young elves and things you don't do after they aren't little anymore. Besides with Sevilin...it's always been a....special circumstance, if you will." But he was going to keep that certain fact to himself.

Looked like it was back to business though. "You or whomever you think is competent, or to give the training to another. No shorting on such things either. Though yes you are correct, the payment...is almost entirely up to your desires. She knows what she asks for isn't cheap, but the Obsidian do have our means to cover such costs."

"I wouldn't short you on a necromancer. doing that is dangerous not only to you, but to myself. an inept necromancer doesn't live long. and usually it's the dead that claim him before anyone else does. I'll send Mavari with you. he's a little...arrogant, but feel free to beat the hell out of him. he's not on my good side right now for doing something I strictly told him not to. worked in my favor, but still the chain of command must be observed and obeyed."

though a lean back tapping his chin lightly in thought. what would be a good price to level on that arrogant woman. something to make her jaw clench and her eyes flash just because he knew he could.

"payment will be the following. two vials of blood from her, and her sister, a crate of misery chains, and.."

a slight grin.

"She has to go to Silvercest's home, and convince Lateef to come down here for a visit. without threats or cajoling. apparently my offers through silvercrest haven't been heeded yet..so maybe another approach is worth looking into."

"Good to know you still hold things in such reguard..and beating privilages...it's like taking care of a child...very well then. We'll see how that works out." Though he did pretty much just have a laugh for himself at Malik's price. "You do drive a hard bargain don't you D'vinn...I expected no less from you. I think you may even have Mahlari give a second look."

But a quirk of an eyebrow. Blood, weapons, and a very odd request. "Quite the last one...you want Mahlari to personally pay a visit to not only Lucana, but Farhian itself, and you want her to to convince Silvercrest's advisor and babysitter to come here? Odd request indeed. Though there is a problem with that one...Crest Brigade has by request placed a ban on those two. Adulaste is not to set foot in Lucana, and Silvercrest not to step foot on Requias or Daimos...for the time being. They've been on....fragile...terms lately. Care to tell why you want Rainsong so bad? I may be able to arrange an alternative...an envoy of sorts if you wish."

Leaf nodded and started picking her way through the rokcs and sand on the direction she had previously chosen. The walked for some time before finding pieces of white stone resembling pieces of pillar. "This does not bode well."

Fin ricked at a bit of it. "Looks kind of recent. There's still stone dust everywhere."

"Perhaps we will be lucky and the key slot will be intact."

She looked up as they walked on...hm it would not be a fun thing if that sand up there decided to shift and start filtering into the fun little crack they were in...no one liked to drown in sand. But her attention was brought down by Leaf's voice. Well crap. "Well, we learned something...seems temples don't survive falls. I assume this was supposed to be our air temple..." She would expect something as thus to perhaps defy the laws of gravity or something. "And if it isn't...well then we better find out how those things work so we can make a new one or soemthing..." Setbacks, had to hate them.

"Lateef and his wife have been seemingly avoiding my presence of late. I may not be able to travel freely there, but I know that they have the ability to come here as they see fit. not to mention, it gives Kieran a chance to relax in his own kingdom as opposed to running from it to get a break."

a slight grin.

"And I think it would be quite educational to Lateef and his wife. especially considering that if his daughter and that surface elf that owes sevilin his life do get together on a more permenant basis, he may be needing to visit here a bit more often to see her."

Fin pointed. "Or we could ask her."

Leaf and Piper both looked up to see what looked like a little girl, very pale skin, white hair, dressed in a flowing white robe (did she seem a tad transparent?) wandering amongts the every growing pile of rubble as if lost.

Leaf was...not good with people, so she gestured to Piper to be the one to speka with her.

He chuckled. "If Rainsong isn't running him around, the elder Silvercrest is." Did everyone know Kieran's business? Apparently so. "They're surface elves, they don't like dark damp places with no sun and sky such as our lovely depths. It's no wonder that they don't think the trip down enjoyable." Though that was interesting, so Sevilin had bagged himself an elf with a life debt. Amusing too. "Just collecting surface elves, aren't you?"

Okay, this could be a good thing or a bad thing....after all, things weren't usually semi transparent, which her eyes could tell her there was a bit of that going on. A look at Leaf as she gestured and Piper gave a nod...had to give everything a shot. Thus clearing her throat and giving a tug on her collar, she walked over closer to the girl, though there was caution in her steps. "Um...hello...what are you doing here?" Yes she started like that...you could be amazed by answers...and she didn't want to give away to some strange being exactly what they were doing right off the bat. Assuming of course the girl could even hear or communicate with her.

That could pose a serious problem now couldn't it? She'd gone outside with the child in her arms in plain sight. Had Khaiver seen her? That she didn't know...but he may have. And that meant he'd have something to use against Sevilin and then what she'd done would be revealed. Would it be better to just confess up now and get the glare and subsequent silent treatment that would follow? Nope. Maybe Khaiver hadn't seen, then she'd get away with it. She had to admit now that it had been slightly stupid. "I suppose we'll just have to wait and see. Just remember...he knows everything there is to know about you except me and Kariel. Don't let him get to you. No matter what." She just nodded to his last edict. "Got it."

"they have many uses. Arthur, or Galesen...depending on if he's actually acting like a damn elf yet rather than a long lived human...can get to places easier than I can here. after all, these depths are crowded with surface breeds and humans. which makes a surface elf a perfect mole or assassin if needed in those areas. though I have no intention of collecting but a few more."

Piper's present companions.

"Rainsong's daughter maybe be a more...common visitor. thus, I find it in the best interest of myself and her parents for them to visit. the last thing I need is thier daughter having an accident and then mother dear or father putting my head on a block over it. after all I may rule an area of the depths, that doesn't mean I can control the land or every animal and creature in it."

He tilted his head slighty at the way that she added herself in...which was unusual for her. After all, why would she think that Khaiver could use her to get to Sevilin? Granted he probably could, but Zahara was in fact a woman...and Khaiver...well he was Khaiver. Unless he acted differently without Mahlari looking over his shoulder. Oh great, more paranoia. "That's the problem...so you stay away from him too. " After all...Khaiver cold probably tell Zahara some very unbecoming things about Sevilin.

"Well...they do in your corner of the Depths...we don't have that kind of problem in Andal...Depths is all ours." Giving a smirk but a nod, after all he understood the logic behind it all...even if he didn't agree to it. "fair enough, I'll see what I can do." Giving a tug at his gloves a moment before returnign his look back to Malik. "Which means what then for me and Sevilin...though of course I don't really need your permission, but I suppose that it would be....respectful...to have it." Oh no, Sevilin was his. "Oh and do know, I don't intend to leave anytime soon."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 21, 2007 8:53 pm

Malik smirked lightly.

"Sevilin and you can have your time. but not unaccompanied. some of my breakers will be with you. not that I don't think things will be civil, but I don't take chances. you and sevilin have a history. and there are things here that you aren't privy to. and they'll make sure it stays that way."

A slight tap on his glass.

"How long are you planning on staying...should we get a room prepared?"

She just nodded though she had no intentions of doing anything of the sort. If Khaiver started getting to him, she was getting involved and while she wouldn't do many of the things she'd deeply love to do to the b*****d who was responsible for so many wrongs, well, she'd give him enough to get him to back off. Sevilin had been through enough hell in his life and he didn't need anymore. Sighing she ran her hands over her face and closed her eyes. "By the gods what next?"
PostPosted: Wed Mar 21, 2007 9:23 pm

"Oh...so we get to be babysat. How lovely." Just fine with him, ogres were idiots anyway and he didn't care what they told Malik of what transpired between the two. After all, there were things between Sevilin and Khaiver that were simply just between them and no one else's business. "Ah, so you're also safeguarding yourself...fair enough. I don't intend to get into your personal life and such.

But a shrug. "Until I am assured of all this business transactioning and until I feel Sevilin gives what he owes. I'm sure you know he can be stubborn and evasive." Though a raise of an eyebrow again and a chuckle. "I didn't expect you to offer...," what a wonderful opportunity, "but if you are indeed offering, it would be rude to turn you down."

Sevilin gave a snicker. "Maybe the underdark will fall on our heads. Sounds about right, doesn't it?" Though his attention turned to the children, he really did worry. And about Zahara too...but tell her anything more than be careful and she had a tendency to be defensive. He didn't need to fight with her right now, he had other worries.

"I always am hospitable. even my enemies get room and board."

a slight chuckle. after all, Kaden and many other technically got room and board, trapped in emeralds and stored away to be tormented by all manner of things.

"Buisness can be concluded right now. I gave my terms. I want rainsong enroute to me, and I want the items I requested. that's all there is to it, unless you have some counter offer. if not, I can have sevilin brought here for you both to get reaquainted."
