MISSION- High Tide The moon is out, the tides are swelling, and the fish are jumping! Get down to the shore and catch yourself a water pokemon! Pokemon: Any non-evolved, non-legendary water-type Rewards: 400 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Adelle walked out of the base she sighed, stretching as the morning light poured down on her. She had not been able to get much sleep lately, especially after her little escapade with those thieves in her last mission. But right now she had one thing on her mind…fishing.
Today was the perfect day for it! Not to mention, according to her TADS, there was a surplus of water pokemon showing up on the shore not far from the HQ. Seeing as it was such a beautiful day out, she had no qualms about simply walking down to the shore in her bikini. Of course the looks she got from some of the male members didn’t bother her either.
Taking brisk strides, pokeballs, bait, and some food for later in her bag, which she slung over her shoulder, her fishing rod was in her hand as she slung it over her shoulder as well. To be honest, she looked kind of ridiculous…and yet irresistibly cute at the same time.
As she walked, she hummed softly to herself, adjusting her sunglasses slightly as she neared the beach. This was the kind of day she loved – plenty of sun, plenty of men, and plenty of time to catch a pokemon. While she had 4 now, she was one of those girls who would stop at nothing to get whatever kind of pokemon she wanted. She would never be satisfied until she had them all. What made her different than every other trainer with that “gotta catch’em all” mentality? Well, she was not afraid to do whatever it took to get them…short of holding them against their will. She would never be one of those girls to hold a pokemon against their will just for the sake of saying that she owns it.
By the time she had finished fantasizing about how much fame and recognitions he would be getting once she could say that she owned every pokemon known to man, she was at the beach. It was that time of the day where it was just started to get crowded. However, you could always tell the serious fishermen from the beach-goers because the fishermen were the ones that looked like they had not left their spot for days. Generally, they reeked, and looked like they had not slept in days for fear of loosing that perfect catch.
Finding a cleared spot, she jumped at the opportunity to take it before some snot-nosed kid thought it would be a good place to build some sort of stupid sand castle that was going to fall down the first wave that came its way. Setting her blanket down on the sand, she set her bag on top of it as she began to take her things out and organize them neatly around the space she had just claimed. For this day, whoever set foot in her space would have to answer to the wrath of Adelle…and no one wanted that.
Pulling out two of her pokeballs, she released Meowth and Sandshrew for some fun in the sun. Meowth because she knew that the pokemon would want some time to relax in the sun, and Sandshrew because she felt a little guilty. Since the time she had caught it, she had not really found a place that would suit it’s fancy for some play. However, there was plenty of sand around here…and sun. Hopefully, that would make the pokemon a little happier than it had been since she had practically forced it to come with her.
Meowth tackled Sandshrew playfully, who fell back in the sand. For the first time since she had caught it, he gave a playful squeal as the two pokemon began a playful wrestling match in the sand next to her blanket. Of course, should anything bite, they would have to be the ones to help her weaken the water pokemon enough to catch it.
After arranging her things the way she would like them, she relaxed back on the blanket as she took out her fishing rod and cast the line into the water. First cast of the day…and it was a good one. Holding the base of the rod in-between her legs for a moment as she reached over and grabbed a sandwich from her bag, biting into it. So it was in the morning…that was no reason to not have a sandwich if that is what she thought would make her happy.
Glancing over at Meowth and Sandshrew laying in the sand together, looking absolutely adorable together, she felt a tug in between her legs. Grabbing a hold of the rod, she felt another jerk on the line as she began to slowly reel it in. Either this thing was incredible huge, or she was freaking weak. Either way, there were a few moments of struggling, sweat beginning to break out on her forehead as she grappled with this unknown leviathan.
Finally, she seemed like she was winning…and then she heard it – the one sound the no fisherman ever wants to hear. SNAP!
Her eyes wend wide as she saw the form of some gigantic pokemon slip beneath the surface of the water, dragging her fishing line with it. Heaving a sigh of disbelief, her eyes twitched slightly, as she muttered a soft curse to herself. Meowth and Sandshrew looked over at her, their eyes wide as well as if to convey their sympathies to her. Both of them moved over to her, curling up on either side of her. No one was ever going to believe what she had just seen…and that was the thing that bugged her the most.
Sighing, she reached into her bag, pulling out another fishing line, which she began to feel through the reel and hooks of her rod. However, as she was in the middle her attention was distracted by what had to of been the most gorgeous male she had ever seen in her life. 6’2”, tanned skin, rippling muscles…this was the man that was able to take her breath away. As she continued to fumble with her fishing line, he gave her one of those dashing smiles that would have made her melt into a puddle on the sand if she were not flesh and blood.
Snickering slightly, she watched him as he continued walking by before turning back to her rod, realizing that all she had managed to do was tie an impossible knot in the fishing line. Cursing to herself, she decided that it would be best to cut the knot out and re-thread the line completely. Getting to work, she continued to cast glances over at the male sunbathing a few yards down the beach from her, though this time she was sure that she would not make a mess of her fishing rod.
Finally getting things the way she wanted, she cast into the ocean once more, watching the red and white bobber as it rolled with the waves. Nothing for a while, and she found that she had a lot to watch as she waited for a bite. She had her adorable pokemon on one side of her, and on the other side, if she looked far enough down the beach, she could catch a glimpse of perfection.
10 minutes…
20 minutes…
30 minutes went by, and still nothing. She was about to give up and walk down to get her flirt on with the embodiment of perfection down the sand, but she felt a small tug on her rod. Looking out over the water, with some difficult as it meant she had to take her eyes off of the hunk of man in front of her, she felt yet another tug on the rod. Getting somewhat excited, she took a hold of the rod with both hands, standing on her blanket in a flourish of skin and sand.
Meowth and Sandshrew were on their feet quickly as well, waiting to see the outcome of the struggle before them. Adelle tugged on the line in response, giving just enough before reeling it in a bit more. Fight after fight, tug after tug, she slowly began to get the pokemon closer to the shore. One more tug, and a glistening white Seel flew out of the water, landing on the sand. She did not want to give it time to escape, so almost immediately, Sandshrew leapt forwards, throwing a load of sand at the Seel in a sand attack.
Releasing a cry as its vision was disturbed with the sand, the Seel whipped around, shooting a water gun at Sandshrew.
“Sandshrew, use a dig attack,” Adelle said in haste, watching as the little pokemon dove under the sand just as the stream of water passed over the spot he had once occupied. The Seel looked around, confused for a moment before Sandshrew burst from the ground underneath it, claws slashing upwards and knocking the Seel back onto the lining of the ocean as a wave crashed onto the shore.
While the pokemon was still down for the count, she pulled a pokeball from her bag, throwing it at the stunned Seel. One shake…two shakes…three, and the pokeball ceased moving. Running over to it, she stooped and grabbed the pokeball before turning to grab Sandshrew, pulling it up in a huge hug.
The pokemon gave another squeal of delight before she placed it down on the sand once more, grinning at her fifth pokemon safe in its pokeball. Flopping back down in the sand, she grinned and giggled to herself as Meowth curled on top of her as she looked up at the sun pouring down on them. Sandshrew came and curled up next to her as well as she opened her eyed to see the same hunk of man she had been fawning over since the beginning of her bout.
“Hey,” she said with a grin, causing her to simply giggle in response.
“That was a nice catch,” he said simply before turning and continuing his walk down the beach. Looking after him, she stood to collect her things. Nothing else she could really accomplish at this point in the day. Rolling up her blanket, she replaced everything in her bag, she returned her pokemon to their pokeballs, and replaced them in her bag as well before turning and beginning to wade her way through the people standing between her and the road leading back to the HQ.
As she started her hike back to the base, she was surprised to hear someone running up behind her. Turning, ready to take care of whoever was going to interrupt her, but then she saw those rippling muscles and charming eyes.
“Um, hi,” she said in a slightly confused tone as he handed her a slip of paper, flashing her that smile that made her heart flutter.
“Call me,” he said in an alluring tone as he slipped her a small piece of paper in which there were 10 numbers scrawled on it. With that, he turned to walk away, though he turned to look back at her as she stood there. Biting her lower lip with a grin on her lips as he returned to the beach to work on that tanned perfection. Licking her lips afterwards, she turned, walking back to base. It was not every day that one got a chance to catch a new pokemon, get the phone number of a dream guy, and at the same time be having one of those relaxing days that made life worth living. Tomorrow it would be back to work…but right now she didn’t care.
Looking at the HQ as she approached, she took a deep breath before walking inside, stifling a yawn with the back of her hand. Back to a life of missions and organization…but she had to admit that it was not as bad as she had thought it would be.[End Mission]
