Zykariel nodded and finished his sandwich. "But I thought Mr. Malik might know. He told me stuff one time downstairs with both my parents in the room. He knew stuff Keely. Stuff even my parents didn't know. And Malikhai says his daddy can talk in his head. So I thought Mr. Malik could talk in my parent's head too and find stuff out. But I guess not." Not a happy child at all. Even with thsoe candles. "I just want things right, Keely. How come I can't have them?"

"I've already explained it might not work without there being magic. but I thought you should know. I would suggest you both take a good long look at how you handle things and see if some adjustments can't be made to at least give the appearance that you are much more friendly or loving toward each other."

A slight smirk.

"I know there's something there. but that your both either too stubborn, too afriad, or too messed up to admit to it. I know your self-destructive mind, and I know her pride and fear. those candles are exactly what I said they are, and can do exactly what I said they can. I've used them. I know."

his eyes moved over Sevilin for a moment.

"The boy wants what he appears to see my son with. a mother and father ho care for eachother and don't constantly fight. I bet if you toned down the fighting to private things, it'd go a mile to improve his outlook. Or, once piper comes home, I can burn them myself, and make sure of it at least temporarily."

A slight smile.

"After all, there was a time when both of you claimed you'd never sleep together, that you hated each other far too much. and that was arranged, wasn't it. and much good came of it. don't think that I won't tamper with the nature of the world again if I think it's in the best interest of those involved."

"the only force I would be providing is the same as I did then. just shove you down a path I know you already want to go down. that's all I did then, and it's all I'd do now. Zahara is young, and unfortunately..or fortunately depending on perspective, hasn't had an encounter like Piper did early on that cost her ear. something that really showed her that no matter how good she is...she's not invulnerable. she needs to be put in a situation where there's no way to fight her way out of it."

settling back some.

"Something to sober her up to the realities around here. she always thinks that she can handle anything. and if she can't, that someone will come help her. you, me, piper, her friends in that drow city-state. But doing that upsets your son and my home. so I'm not beyond forcing her to realize how much you mean to her, and to understand you find her an important figure in your, and your son's, lives."

"Then take Zykariel out of the equation. do something that of cours ein no way relates to the boy. something for just you and her."

a shrug.

"But I'm not exactly one to be giving love advice. me and Piper were almost entirely by accident."

a light chuckle.

"As it was for us. the love that developed was from a well laid devious plot gone horribly awry. but if you cannot talk with her and get it through her head, perhaps a different approach is needed. neither of us can speak to her and get her to understand. she's far too distrustful of me, and she's stubborn with you. So lets take drastic steps, shall we?"

tapping his finger on his chin for a moment.

"Lets get Zykariel to spill his intentions and his wants and desires to Broog. I can come up with a way to send him to Broog and get him to talk with him. Broog will, as his mind will dictate, desire to please Zykariel and make him happy by trying to get Zahara to do what Zykariel wants. thus, Broog will talk to Zahara. Zahara trusts broog, and will take his words probably with far more thought than she might from you or I."

The three broke free of the crumbled chamber, huffing and puffing, trying to work their way around the dust and dirt in their throats. They had figured out the incritpion on the pillars, gotten the orb placed in the right place (Whihc also required the use of a sundial that obviouls couldn't work properly and a dead rat. Don't ask...it's healthier for you)

Leaf helped to pull the others out of the rubble, they dusted themselves off.

"The earth temple resides in the same place as the etheral. We shall not speak of it again." A man came out from the rubble, made the three of them sign a caontract of confidence. "Seriously, we can't talk about it."

They got together their things, and headed out to the next location on the map.

Rings? They were no strangers to Sevilin's fingers...in fact he held the belieft that they were good for keeping one's fingers from being immediately severed from thier hands where they joined. Little paranoid no? Though a raise of an eyebrow with Malik's added statement...what? Was he talking the whole ring things like Malik and Piper? And there he was doing that thinking thing again. Losing it more.

A look to the two steel pieces he still held in his hand. "He's paying you to solve his problems is he? I suggest you feed the boy the necessary infromation to solve his problems then. If one answer is Broog knows better about it, then that's the answer and that's where he'll go next. He's very good at connecting the dots. Call him to you, tell him his direction and let him run with it. Though hear this now, you make life any more miserable on any level for my boy and I will punch you in the face, and make sure to break things." Didn't need magic to do that and Malik probably would believe him...he was the same way about his own son, or so Sevilin had seen.

"You think or you know? You're not one to put absolute faith in anything at all, are you Malik?" A slight chuckle though, wasn't that the way of all types of drow? But of course. "Why would it concern you? Handy little tool that...I used to use it quite a bit back when I did more unhealthy things on the surface there. I'd think you'd be thrilled she'd take something that acts as it does. Makes a handy rope in a tight situation too."

Speaking of Piper, she was not a happy elf and a tad bit slightly weirded out. Why was she always being exposed to the odd things of the underdark. Being Piper however, she went with the flow and was more than happy to never talk of such things again. But it was right on the go once more after that...though only about a quarter to their next location, Piper decided to affirm that she was the ring leader in all of this...which means others were shooed off her horse and she slid down as well. "We're making camp for the night..." No way was she traipsing around the underdark during it's 'night'. Besides she could use a little rest and had things to write home about, most specifically a map.
