He didn't look pacified and he wasn't. "No, you promised!" Crossing his arms even as his father held him...kid got driving hard bargains from his father and he didn't seem to budge in his opinion on the matter. Daddy promised, he wasn't going to break that promise. Either daddy didn't go, or Malikhai went with him....at least that was the child's opinion. "Send it a negotiation." Aw wasn't that cute? And he knew dragons were smart creatures.
"Good...then if we find this thing to be a challenge and need the boost, I know the perfect thing we can use...if two rune mages put into one rune, the tax and cost is less per individual...good thing to know isn't it?" Though again partially amused at Malik's son, kid was stubborn. But a look around a moment for his own son, where'd he go?
And then he was being pulled to the side for a moment by Zahara, who had hold of aforementioned child. He blinked at her a moment. "It's no problem...just don't yell when we come home looking worse off than we are. Don't fret, there's enough to worry about it right now. Taking his own son from her and holding him a moment, patting his back comfortingly.
"Joy boat ride over water..." Yeah didn't he just love water...pity those horses shoes had gone out with the rest of the magic. Made travel so much more cumbersome. But hey that's why boats were known, as well as perfectly safe routes, they were long routes but it kept the risk of being attacked at bay. "It'll be a long walk once we hit shore again."

Zykariel glanced over at Malikhai for a moment and tugged on his father's braid gently. He wanted attention and he didn't like that Malikhai was upset.
"I'm not going to yell about anything at this point. But if we're going to battle I certainly hope we have enough things to keep everyone from dying when this whole thing is over. That's why you need to just wipe the thing out. I'll be out there to hold off anything else that comes at us and fight alongside but we don't have the resources, the manpower or the time to play around with this thing, whatever the hell it is. Got it?"
It was a long ride and an even longer hike but finally they made it to the fortress. Dharielle stepped through the gates and walked up to the door banging her staff on it. "I am Dharielle from Vesendar and this is Niilrik. We seek an audience with Lord D'vinn. It is quite urgent."

That got a grin.
"Not a bad idea. And I know I promised if I left I'd take you with me."
before a sound at the door. hmm. how'd that happen past his guards. must be someone they knew. which meant the doors got opened, and they were led to Malik.
"Vesendar's powers that be. welcome. I know of your trouble, and I know that it's sight is set on me next. if your looking for aid, you have it. any information would be important right now. have you injured it, even scratched it?"

Ha he got a grin out of Malik, that must of meant something was working in his favor. At least the child had a head for business sense. "And you don't break your promises." Just to reinforce it and to fuss his way to a win. Stubborn indeed. But a look over, gripping to his father again at the apperance of people he didn't know.
Attention was given to Zykariel, the boy getting his eyes and a nuzzle, soft words of assurance a moment before looking to Zahara once more. A frown. "You will not be going out there...you need to stay here. Stay here and be ready for anyone coming back wounded and for the sake of others that need you here." Slight side glance to the child...wouldn't be nice to say he was forcing his own mother into watching him.
Hm, it looked less forboding this time around, but at least they weren't accosted or anything, almost as if they were expected wasn't it? Which would of made him nervous did he not know Zahara. It was nice to know someone on the inside. In fact Zahara got a goofy little wave from him before he went serious again. A look to Malik. "It's still quite fond of fire."

Dharielle nodded. "D'vinn. We appreciate the aid. Thankfully it has not done hardly any damage. There was a large explosion close to us that flattened a home or two but our casualites are not so high yet." Niilrik shook his head. "It's slow going to say the least. Without magic there's little we can do and it's scales prevent anything from really doing damage. It's starting fires all through the city but we've more or less put those out. We are sending a few more legions over now that we are certain of your agreement. You have our warriors at your command as well D'vinn. Together maybe we can beat this thing."
Zahara stared at him for a long moment before her eyes flashed. "I am too going out there. I have to fight, this is personal Sevilin. He attacked me first and had I killed the idiot we wouldn't be in this mess. Then he destroyed Vesendar-" She blinked for a moment as Nadai waved to her and then she caught sight of the same dark blue scarfs, belts and designs that those hailing from Vesendar used to identify themselves. "I thought Vesendar was decimated..." She glanced back at Sevilin and sighed. Zykariel. She needed to stay inside with the boys and he was right the wounded would need to be tended to which was what she was good at. "I have to fight..." she insisted stubbornly.
"No!" The child chimed in shaking his head angrily. "Daddy can fight and hurt things. Malikhai's mommy went off to fight stuff and she may not come back. You don't get to go too. I just got you." Thus squirming to be put down and then clinging to his mother's leg.

"No, you don't have to fight, no one is forcing you to." Just because he had to make the point almost literally. But a look over to what stopped her mid sentence. That was Vesendar blue...see, things weren't so bad off. "See, it's not a smoldering pile in the underdark. Calm yourself." But at least she seemed to get what he was getting at, but she was still being stubborn wasn't she? "You are more valuable here than you are on the battle field right now...how many careless healers are going to use too much of something and then the supplies are further drained." Ah logic. Though he did let his son down do he could cling. Aw, the kid used logic too. How cute.

She nodded. "It was much the same for the temples. The information we had was 'there are temples. Find the keys."
Leaf looked about the surroundings. "At the moment, it is safe to assume that we are dealing with the element of earth. Otherwise I believe we would see more realtion to the other elements."
"Perhaps we are looking for a building, one that would not appear as the rest. Or a key stone place, or a lever or some symbols or..." She srhugged. "Something out of the ordinary." Goodness, she didn't like talking this much.
Neither Fin nor Leaf had been back the peninsula since their return from the elemental tempels. At the moment, without the clerical help they had recently recieved or the magics that they tended to relay on to keep the underdark at bay, they were under constant attack.
Many denizens of the underworld were makign themselves known, looking for some choice elf meat, stealing land, or just plain killing the elves. Defesnes were down, the relient rocky ground was giving way to the hordes of orcs. Any outlaying settlment had already been destroyed. Anthing to close to the water was over run by giant things of the sea, crabs and squid. Things that would normaly not venture out of the cold dark water.
The glowing mosses, which had beome wells after the departure of the gods, were quickly running dry. Soon, everytihng would be completely dark.

And the kid was pulling in the big guns. She set a hand on his head and tangled her fingers in his hair then frowned at Sevilin. "But.." Damn his logic. He was exactly right. She'd be of far more use inside which didn't thrill her in the least since she wanted to be out among the action. "I'll just beat the careless when the fight's over." Crossing her arms for a moment and sighing. "Not even for a little bit?"
Hmm. Latching not working, time to use tactic number two. Puppy eyes. "No Mommy. You can't fight at all. Who's gonna watch me while you go fight and what happens if you don't come back. Then I get no more Mommy."
She glanced down. Great. Puppy eyes. Gods help her she was weakening. "Keely can watch you and I'll come back. I promise."
"You can't promise what you don't know for sure. And since you don't know for sure then you can't fight." Still latched and giving puppy eyes. Lethal combination.
She sighed. "What about him? How come he gets to fight? He could get hurt too."
"And then you'll yell at him and make him stay in bed and make him drink health till he gets all better and everything will be okay. Plus Daddy has neat things he can do. You take care of people. No fighting."

Roarke didn't wait for the wolf to make another attack. He was bleeding, and other people could get hurt, no time to be taking chances. He grabbed some rope from a villager and jumped into the wolf's side, knocking her over and rolling the two on the ground.
He grabbed at her paws, warpped the rope around her muzzle.

"In other words we have the keys, now we have to find where the keys go." She hated hide and seek. Especially when it was an inanimate object that couldn't answer you and wouldn't make it any easier. Slipping down off of Serino she made her way around the place, picking up a rock as she walked and her dagger as well, clacking he two together in front of her eyes to create sparks to activate her particular brand of vision. Ah that was much better. "If it's in the earth I suggest we stop looking above around and look for something in or under the ground. A buried altar or something. Meilikki didn't know if these were alter objects or anything? Where did you get them from?" That could be a clue...if they pulled it off an altar or out of something, maybe the other location for the key was the same.
The kid was good he had to admit that...but who could resist the cute like that. "Beating the careless would serve no purpose, seeing as the supplies would already be wasted." Shaking his head lightly and crossing his arms over his chest, listening to her trying to reason with the child to get away. She wasn't winning and they both probably knew that. "You stay here." Again he reinterated for her.

Kon was not empressed. She growled through her muzzle and kicked her feet wildly, trying to escape the robe. But it was thick and tied well.
Kon stopped moving bretahing hard and watching anyone who came close.

"The Oracle would be more one to trust you with such information than us. We've only just met her breifly." She shrugged. "I suppose she knew enough of us to send us along with yuo, being an Oracle."
Why did she clang those two objects together? Interesting, but Leaf was not the curious type. It was getting dimmer around them...the glowing mosses were fading out. At the moment, it did not spark as important to her.
"Yes, alters. Each of the keys were sitting on an alter. hopefully, you are right and these things will be relative."
Fin caught her attention with a wave, motioning them over. He had found an entrance, mostly just a rock that had been propped up against a another rock that had a hole oin it that had a staircase in it leading downwards.
Roarke knew better than to loosen his hold when the wolf went limp. He hog tied her and threw her over his back. Which actually, kind of hurt, seeing as one shoulder had teeth holes in it. "I will take the wolf with me. You men continue on."
"Are you going to kill it?"
"Oh yes, I'll destroy her. I'll just do it privetly. Slaughter is not the thing for a crowd were children could be watching."
He started to carry her back to the manor.

She however did stop to poke at a patch of moss or two, hm, that couldn't be too good. No phosphorous moss and the underdark would be completely dark. And whomever didn't have the vision for that was going to be picked off right quick. But a look over at Fin, walking over as they were motioned. "See, in the earth and of it as opposed to above it or sitting on it." Oh she could just imagine all the fun that could happen down there. "Do you two know how to draw on an external source for magic?" If they could even do magic, but it was said as she took to putting her weight against the rock to push it aside so they could head down.

"Alright. I have mounted lizard calvary ready, and my own steed. instead of trying to pierce the armor, try and pry it off. if it has scales, they can come loose. and Sevilin and I have our own ace in the hole."
looking at his son.
"This is a dangerous thing we're doing. people can and will die. are you sure you want to come with me?"
hey, he wasn't breaking his promise directly.
"I'm sure Zahara and Zykariel will need help with injured people, and you know Zykariel will be worried and scared with you gone."

"Daddy!" Said in that plaintive whiny voice of any toddler who wasn't happy with the words coming out of his father's mouth. Pretty soon he was going to start adressing him formally. Another nod. "Someone's gotta keep you from getting hurt." As mommy often said, and he knew his father wouldn't put him in danger like that. He'd cling, Malik was fine. Ah child logic. But yes he did look to Zykariel a moment at his mention. Zykariel was the older one, he was supposed to be more brave because of that, thus a look back to daddy. "He's older than me though." Which of course translated into child speak as 'he's the one who protects me, not the other way around'. Plenty of examples of it too.
