*He looks towards her* I was searching through Zio's archives on the use and history of mental manipulation practices. It reminded me of a rather common and problematic fail safe used by individuals not unlike Thanatos's present target....

Unfortunately.... I believe he is possessive enough and crafty enough to resort to the method of which I speak. I believe he may follow an "If I can not, then no one shall." policy. That is, if Thanatos does indeed succeed in causing his plan to crumble and his influence to fail, a fail safe will awaken and perhaps destroy the woman. In essence, by freeing her from his influence, Thanatos may very well cause a sudden end to part if not all of this friend's life.....

*Nana raises an arm, letting her hand rest on the side of Mastema's coat. Her arm was a bit slack, so her hand would seem to tug a little. After a moment Nana's hand wraps around the side of the coat's arm, her fingers staying craddled in the loose folds of the material*

*Mastema was twiddling around with an ear ring in his hand. It was a silver ear ring with an amethyst like jewel at the bottom* This will do... hmm.. *He pockets it and vanishes. Dropping softly onto the floor of the library, he looks around* Nana? are you still here?
