Yeah when you charge you will be dealing out possibly 6 attacks from your chaplin (depending on his kit-power weapon so no armor save)
And 40 attacks from your terminators at reroll all failed to hits and for the terminators with lighting claws all failed to wounds!
You could kill a carnifrex with that.

See I learned something about the good ol' carnifex.... never mind it's slow moving self Unless it has wings. Kill the gene stealers ! Then worry about the other stuff. I've opted to take a Venerable Dreadnought with it's regular old assault cannon, in a death wind drop pod. I also gave my captain a jump pack and melta bombs incase there are any pesky tanks lurking about the field. If not, he's gonna hide in a crater the whole game. Cause he dosent have any war gear that would help him.

Lascannons and missile launchers, both available to any tactical squad, can make short work of them before you can even reach your lines. As for genestealers, heavy flamers and assault cannons are their worst nightmares. Plus, they're expensive, so unless the enemy pots to take a full army of them, they become a muss lesser threat.

I think I told Isis about my first games against nid players. I got someone who brought 4 heavy models. 2HQs and 2 Frexs.
So I brought 2 Predator annihilators. With 1 twin linked lascannon and 2 lascannons side mounts. You will never see a heavy nid player cry when you put those on the field. I wasted his high point frex first turn!

Ok just got home from my first RTT. Crazy, Fun... but I much rater prefer regular games. I can officially claim my chapter to be pure as I was cleansed to the last man two rounds in a row. The third round I did better I was left with full tactical squad half a devy squad, a dreadnought ( yay ) and a death wind drop pod. I got to fight dark eldar, nearly the whole army poped out of two teeny tiny holes. gonk That sucked But I did last till turn six. I didn't win at all but I had fun. I was the only new player this RTT so that marked me for death almost as soon as I walked in the door. But ehh... I'll get better.
Also note, I start my new job tomorrow so my presents in the guild will change a bit. The one thing I am happy about is the now 30% discount I'll get on army stuff. Hmmm tau battle box... or new army.... twisted Mwahaha.

Cool, I remember my first tourney....I got pwned.....2nd....better....but still pwned.....and my 3rd was a year later from my first, I came out as 19 out of 32 people....1 tie, 1 win, and 1 lose. And I was the only Kid there. And a tad bit of advice to ya'....if you ever play against the Dark Eldar webway portal things again....then Just surround the protal with a squad or 2, Because remember when they enter they can't be with in 1 inch of enemy models or they are destroyed. And yeah you'll get better. Could I possibly benefit from this 30% discount too? Maybe......possibly..... mrgreen wink

Probably not tiki. sad It's employees only really and I think they would become suspicious of me suddenly buying tons and tons of stuff and never using it. Plus then there is the logistics of it, sending me the cash, me shipping the stuff back... to much hassle and I don't benefit. So yeah you see the issue here. Other wise I'd do it no problem.
So my first day of work was interesting, I saved a toad from the back room. Learnd how to use the register and that warhammer fantasy players don't like 40k players. ( great ) Other then that it was pretty cool.

Now the really unfortunat part about it is that it can't be settled with a game now.....oh what, just have them resolve there dispute with a game of chess. mrgreen

One of my conversations with a few players the called 40k the joke of the two Warhammer games and generally blew of the entire game. I have gotten a similar reaction from a few others also, of corse there are those who play both, they are cool. As for the toad... I found him in the back room sitting in our mop / cleaning basin. I asked if they knew he was there and they where like "Yeah...so it's a stupid toad, who cares." So I brought him out side and put him under a shady tree near a retention pond ( a man made rain catching lake for those unfamiliar with the term. ) That was about it. I had one as a pet once so I like them.

Now the really unfortunat part about it is that it can't be settled with a game now.....oh what, just have them resolve there dispute with a game of chess. mrgreen see the funny thing is, except for perhaps the Chaos faction in Warhammer fantasy. Any of the 40k armies would utterly crush the fantasy armies. My thoughts as to why. 1) We have guns and tanks instead of arrows and horses. 2) We have awesome armor to deal with the guns... so the pokey weapons like Arrows, swords, ballista ect.. wouldn't really effect them much. I'm sure the armies with the flying rocks that land and crush people would do some damage. This is the way i think it would set up. Wood elves would get owned by Eldar... dark elves by Dark eldar...and so on. Marines would just wade through every one reguardless. Tau would have a duck hunt and recruit people. Necrons don't care and will take there souls any way. Tyranids will eat them to, why not. Imperial guard... it's just another day for them. Orks would be in heaven, lots of simple stuff to steal and use and the Demon hunters /Which hunters...they'll just purge every one cause I'll bet no one knows who the Emperor is or cares. How dose that sound ?
