The woman with the name of a mighty nightmare clears her throat and straightens her cravat, preparing to speak. Slowly, clearly she begins. Despite the dignified period clothing, the woman has a painfully Midwestern accent to match her painfully Midwestern farmers tan. "My name is Corinthian. I was recently sent an invite to this establishment, and I accepted with the intention of perhaps meeting some new roleplayers that were looking for something other than smut.
"For those of you interested, I'm twenty. I'm a business major in Ohio. I've been roleplaying tabletop style since I was ten, and I joined Gaia when I was sixteen or seventeen. My longest running roleplay is called the True Covenant, and it has made it up to sixty pages as of yesterday if I'm not mistaken. True, I only have one other person in it, but I feel like that's still an accomplishment as far as literate role plays go these days.
"I listen to music like many of you while I work. VAST and Therion are amazing to work to, but any smooth, cold jazz piece or overbearing opera will put me in the mood to wage war or hunt treasure."
The woman pauses to collect her thoughts. She has short, wheaty hair that's pulled back into ponytails, one on each side of her head. A bit of fringe that's too short to reach the little rubber bands graces her neck. Her bangs, in desperate need of a trim, fall across her left eye. Her eyes are a stoic mix of gray and olive, and they aren't able to stay on one thing for very long. Her lips are thick, but not quite wide enough to match her face properly. Her visible skin is just a hint too dark to classify her as an albino, covered with a smattering of freckles. She is dressed in a green velvet jacket circa the Victorian era with wide cuffs and delicate embroidery that matches the color of her hair. The jacket is thread worn and dirty from her travels. Beneath that is a black satin vest with the same embroidery. Her white tights are plain and thread bare. The only things in good shape are the officer's cap on her head, the sturdy leather bag slung across her shoulder and the knee high leather boots on her feet that add two inches to her 5'6" frame.
She fiddles with the bag at her side and produces a crumbling leather bound book with yellowed pages that might have been gilt before the ages had eaten into them. The skin of the book flakes at her ginger touch. The outside of the book is labeled 'Ineffable Horror' in wide, curvacious lettering. She hugs the book to her chest like it's a lifeline. The book is her precious battered universe, peopled by strange creatures, an apocalypse and bloody suffering. It wasn't named for the indescribable horror of the universe itself, but for the painful inability for this girl to fully express the shadows in her mind. It wasn't a lack of talent, but rather a lack of facilities to truly express creation that made it impossible for her to fully express this strange pseudo-world world of hers. "My main genre is modern occult. I play alot of vampires. That being said I don't play them like the illiterate fools in Barton. My creations are characters before vampires, not the other way around, and once you've met a good vampire roleplayer you'll know the difference.
"I hope that this place will offer the shelter that it promises. My creations are tired to be sure, as am I."

Oh my... I really suck at introductions! Uuh, hi! My name is... Charles (at least that's what most people on gaia call me..)? Or really, whatever you'd wish to call me; I love nicknames :DDD
I want to say that I've been on gaia for about four years or so (one of those years was an off on type thing)... When semi-lit. was considered at least three paragraphs, well, those were my starting days... Now you can't even find a literate role-play that isn't just requesting that you can read and write a few sentences DDD;
Hhm, truth be told, I can be considered a copycat role-player. Then again, if I'm really interested in a role-play... well, I can tend to get a little too creative sometimes oo;;
What else... what to say, what to say..? Uuh, I think gaia is plummeting into another pointless site. Sometimes I can say that neopets is a better site >>; That may be stretching it some, but at least there are some really fun games on neopets xDD!!!!
I once posted in a pretty format, but then I kind of combed it over and realized that I had no one that I really wanted to impress.. Although, I find a smaller font size a must! Occasionally I do like to amuse myself with random color coding.. Like now when I have time :DDD
If there is anything I've missed, don't hesitate to.. ask? Heh....

Why hello there Crointhian, another person from Ohio I see. Well, we have two other people from there that I know of haha, Enchanted and Dreaming. Well anyways welcome to the guild, and although I have not played too many vampire roleplays, mainly because I feel once you played one you played them all because of how cliched they are in barton town, I wouldn't mind seeing a true vampire rp up and running. I assume True Convenant is just that, well anyways I hope you do enjoy your stay here, feel free to chat in the forums, and rp away to the bleakest of night haha.
As for Cortney, yay! Another Novemberian! Looks like we're going to have to throw a birthday bash on that month, haha we have quite a few. Well anyways, I remember gaia way back when when it was a lot better. Although back in 04 I was mainly in the writer's area... anyways when I went back to Barton, it really has fallen quite a lot. I mean there's still some awesome rps going on in there, and I try to snag a hold of them as much as I can, but a lot of the time the rps just compromise to get more people. It is not always the case, as some gms don't really care about quantity, nor need it, as long as they have quality. Well here, we will hopefully be having quantity as well as quality ^_^. I hope you start putting that creative juice to work, we have quite a few rps lined up, and I think I saw another one up there today, but I haven't looked at it just yet.
Anyways hopefully something will please your tastes around here, if not feel free to ask. I think we're all a pretty creative lot so we can come up with something ^_^. Now away to rp'ing I go ^_^

Hello everyone. My name is Shayne and but you can refer to me by either name or by my user name Ivyn, doesn't really matter to me. I was asked to join and after seeing the main picture almost walked away until I started reading the welcoming and could see that this was indeed the home to literate rpers, can't seem to find enough of them these days, and even sometimes my own skills dabble at the line between the greatness that I truly am and the lesser stuff lol.
Well anyway I am into making and coming up with ideas, although I do find others Ideas quite good sometimes, although I like making my own more then joining. My one great rp flaw however is I can't stay interested in one rp too long and will abandon it, feeling horrible about it but still able to move on, and either make another one or take a break, right now I am reading the One Piece Manga online (cause I am cheap and impatient) to pass my time and so haven't made or joined any rps lately but I am indeed looking to change that ^_^.
Well my current moods have been towards One Piece and The Legend of Zelda TP, cause I am reading the first and just beat the second, and so if anyone wants to assist me with solidifying some ideas for either one or just wants to chat Pm me or something mrgreen

Hello there Ivyn, well... I thought the home page picture was cool... but then again I am probably saying this because I am the one that edited it XD. So anyways lol, welcome here, and I hope you have fun looking around and hanging out.
As for abandoing rps and everything, well at least you're truthful haha ^_^, well anyways the two rp that I started up, you can actually join, post once in a blue moon and it would not even hurt the story line. The more serious one is "The Place Promised in our Early Years," and the non serious...seriously non serious is C.P.R. lol, give those a check if you feel like rp'ing but not wanting to be dedicated.
Well I think we actually have a few people in here who are probably zelda addicts. I know Jose-cool is addicted, he only plays as link on smashbros, but then again so do I haha.

Sorry, didn't mean to dis your picture like that sweatdrop I am just more the anime hand/computer Drawn kind of guy. Photos, and edited ones, aren't bad just not really my thing. But anyway, I was just wondering if one wanted to make their own rp in the guild forums would they do it in the general rp area or is rp making only for mods and such?

Wow....I feel terrible because I havn't actually talked to any of you....sorry! I mean for goodness sake i'm crew! heh....well....WELCOME!It's soo good to see so many people join so quickly! I'm really happy to see the progress! And it's really great to see someone else from Ohio! Lets me know this state isn't as out of touch with the world as I thought xd . We're stuck in the middle of nowhere! Anyway...welcome to all of you again! If you ever want to randomly talk my sn for aim is KawaiiChiisaMoMo...I'm not fond of having real conversations on Gaia...takes a bit too long to respond, lol. So....yea! Talk to ya all later!
