Hijil – Shifter Guard
Around the Camp: Feeding the kinfa

Hijil couldn't help but smile back, slightly eased. Yes. Bhima had searched for her, and had found her...

But she had told her mother? This was... new. She gave Bhima's hand an answering squeeze before letting go to pick up Ath.

Ath, for her part, was not happy. The kinfa squalled and struggled until Hijil, patient as ever, managed to get her into her bundle. She hefted Ath onto her shoulder and walked just behind Bhima, wondering just what she was in for now.

It was not approval she sought, of course. She didn't know what she needed to seek anymore. She had found what she was looking for, and the world was now open to her, like a treasure box newly unlocked.

It was just... New. Strange. And sudden.

It will be all right, Hijil. she reassured herself, This is Bhima's mother. Things will be fine.

But she couldn't help tensing in trepidation as they approached the supply tent. She moved Ath to her chest, hugging the bird gently to her. “Well...” she rumbled quietly... but had nothing to follow it with, letting it hang awkwardly in mid air as she waited to be introduced...

Bhima
Supply tent

Poor Hijil must be so upset. Bhima herself wasn't sure what her mother would think of the Shifter woman. She had not specified her lost love's race when it came time to explain to her mother, or at least she didn't think she had. Still, she wasn't worried. Lasarra had been welcome in their home as a child and, sure, she was half-Sister, but hopefully that wouldn't matter.

The supply tent was full of young people clamboring for weapons and chatting adults, but Bhima made a beeline for an older Alkidike woman seated on the floor, lashing the heads onto a new set of arrows. Said woman turned her head up and smiled at the sight of her daughter, and went to give the young woman a hug. Bhima was, in fact, taller than Mama Chike.

"I'm so glad to see you," her mother said, giving the woman a squeeze, and then turned to Hijil. Her eyes seemed slightly shocked, but she offered her hand regardless.

"Mother, this is Hijil. She is the one I set out to find."

"And you did find her... Hello, Hijil. I'm sorry we had to meet under such circumstances."

Kaalnia – Alkidike Blade
Outside: being Frustrated – to supply tents, just outside

Just by chance, Kaalnia looked back, scowling, towards the shifter leader and spotted an old nightmare striding past, into the supply tent.

Ruelash

She would never forget that name, or that face.

Panic began to brew within her, clammy and tense, and she rested a hand on Popper the Menk's glass ball to comfort herself.

Why was he here?! What did He want?! She didn't trust that blue b*****d, not after he had almost gutted her on the tournament grounds.

Kaalnia had been intending to walk around and clear hear head, but her head felt pretty clear now, so she ducked behind a tree near the supply tents to keep an eye on...

HIM.

"No... Padma, you can't come with me." Uquin scolded with a soft smile. Once again ruffling her hair, Uquin looked to Pahana, then considered their options. Few of the people they knew could be free to watch their children - and though he wanted to focus on healing when the battle came, and knew there would be frightening things if Padma remained at his side, but it also may be the safest option, should a retreat come.

Though... he wasn't going to be back at camp healing this time. He would be out on the battlelines, lending what power he could to those fighting - if this was their last line, he felt he had to offer what support he could to those fighting. Which doubly meant that Padma couldn't come with him. But... for now, he was loathe to leave her. So, gripping her hand (and Ujana's, though he didn't know if she would feel the sentimentality that he felt), Uquin gazed towards the supply tent. "I tell you what... we'll go and get some rations, and have a supper together. Then will you stay here, and be good?" Waiting until they agreed, Uquin nodded then scooped up Padma, and walked with her towards the supply tents.

It wasn't too far of a walk, but ... partway there, through the crowd of those clamoring to get weapons, he saw someone familiar in the crowd that paused his steps. Mella. His first instinct was to call out to her, angrily, because what was she doing so close to a battle?! She had insisted, at their last meeting, that the battlefield was no place for her, and yet here she was. Somewhere in his mind he'd assumed she was off in Sauti, safe from this fight - for now, and yet seeing her filled him with both a strange relief, and a horrible dread. Followed by confusion as to why seeing one person created such a hurricane of emotions in him. Her name was on his lips in a call, "Mel-" but then he stopped, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

She couldn't?! That was so unfair!! Stamping her foot again, Padma prepared herself for a tantrum that would end all tantrums - for she didn't like to be dismissed with a pat to the head - but her papa finally conceded that she could come with him for rashuns. Whatever those were. Supper, though, meant food - and honestly she was pretty hungry. Waving goodbye to her mother as she was picked up, Padma then wrapped her arms around her papa's neck and looked out over the people, enjoying her briefly increased height as she could people watch.

There certainly were LOTS of people too! She continued craning her neck to look until Papa made a strange noise, which gained a curious hum from his daughter, who leaned back and peered at him with curious green eyes.

xxxxSleeping Tents

Nera was light in her arms, her once keen eyes almost glazed in exhaustion. Any fantasies Lucijah may have had about participating in the battle evaporated - unless she had to, she wasn't wanting to leave her lover's side anytime soon. Once they were alone in the tent, Lucijah held the water for her to drink, mourning the lack of color in Nera's strangely pale face, taking in the gaunt cheeks and shadows under her eyes. She was no longer the spitting image of healthy, refined beauty, and yet Lucijah felt such love and longing for her that she didn't care. This came along with mourning at the realization that the nest she'd made hadn't protected Nera in the least - that her doubts, and thoughts that Nera had left her as soon as Lucijah limped into her village for first aid was a betrayal of Nera's loyalty.

She refilled the ladle as many times as Nera seemed able to stomach, then used the ladle to carefully pour over Nera's wrists, lacking a basin to soak them in. They were, truly, in awful shape - beyond what first aid she could offer. But water was always the first step for healing, right?? "Shh, love, just rest. We have all the time in the world for words of love." She shushed quietly. Nera shouldn't be using energy to heap compliments on her, not when she looked like a breeze should blow her over. Petting ragged hair from Nera's forehead, Lucijah pet her skin to feel for fever, humming a soft song she hoped would be soothing. "You... may need a healer, my love."

User Image Antiope had to say, she was relieved to see so many volunteers for a mission. Her concern, however, was that too many sign-ups would leave their base unprotected if the scouts were caught. Nodding as each soldier presented themselves, Antiope considered what to do next - but before then, the tent shuffled. From inside came Enlil, first, followed by the other elders. "Please, gather around - we have some very important news." He called, his voice raised but calm.

Most importantly every elder bustled with energy, a hopeful energy that was contagious. Once enough citizens had gathered around, Enlil continued. "This is our front. Jauhar has already fallen to these fiends, and if we fail here they will only spread their corruption farther.

We all know the strength of our enemy - and yet we also know our strength. The turning point of the first battle was not their steel, nor their discipline - but their beasts. No one in Tendaji had seen a creature so large before, and yet we still took one down under our own power. We are the betters, WE are the better fighters. And now, we have an even playing field.
"

Stepping aside, Enlil turned his eyes towards the beast pen - where the large aquatic beast had been pacing, its time spent sharing meals with those of Tendaji who spared it a glance. It was impressive in size, humongous - not as tall or broad as those they faced in their first battle, and yet powerful in its own right. Now, however, standing beside the beast, in the pen, her hand rubbing its jaw... was a woman. A woman with blue skin, and yet not an Ice Earthling - her long black hair was drawn back to reveal her ears, which were more fins than any ear Tendaji had ever seen. Her eyes were beastlike, and yet her features were calm and confident, and she smiled and bowed in respect as she was revealed.

"I am Naria, of the Matori tribe - my people have been unwilling subjects of the Fire king for too long. Together, with your might and our beast, it is my hope we will end their campaign once and for all! ...I understand if you don't trust me, but I will answer all I can to assuage any concerns."

A new ally has appeared! But in Tendaji, will the presence of a stranger from an unknown tribe be a support, or another concern? The elders seem at least convinced of her story, but it is the last battle - and with no way to test her loyalties, one mistake could be deadly. Can she be trusted? She is willing to talk and answer questions, at least.

Padma, Uquin

Mella: Post ½
Location: Lost near the supply tents

She had been going to hand out weapons and while she wasn’t well suited to a scouting mission. “No sir, I’m here to help others find weapons.” Answering the grizzled shifter she was promptly shooed out of the weapons tent with the only explanation being she would be more a hindrance then help. Nibbling her lip she was a bit annoyed. It was true she didn’t know the names of all the weapons and where all of them were located but she had a good memory for images. If you showed her where they were once she would be able to go back and get it no problem.

Telwren didn’t seem to keen on being around so many others again. Hissing he slid out of her sash and sniffed the air. Not smelling the female or the male sailscale from before he dodged his food giver’s grasp as she would undoubtedly drag him somewhere noisy and loud again. Slithering along a familiar scent reached his tongue. Moving along at a good pace he found himself before the stranger good giver again and reared up making the grasping motion with his claws to the male in a quite demand for food once more. His eyes were locked on the others clicking with impatience.

Mella scanned the ground but she had lost track of Telwren. Saying a prayer to Bergchi she really hoped he didn’t go all the way back to Kiyelt and start another fight with that male sailscale. Groaning she kept up her search but with so many others around it was hard. So much for her idea of places to go. How one little sailscale could keep throwing her day off was well beyond her. “Telwren!”

Mella seemed to be on her way elsewhere - who was Uquin to scold her for being here? She was an adult, capable, it wasn't his place to question her decisions. And yet at the same time he felt almost shy to see her again - it had been months since their trek on the road.

Months during which he had had a drunken romp with a stranger, run from a battle, become a father, and then sustained an injury to his face. For him it felt like it had been ages, yet he still felt a kinship with the woman. So stepping back and realizing he really had no claim, or even space in her life, was a bit of a shocking eye opener that made him feel foolish.

And yet, before he could continue on towards the supply tents, which Mella seemed to be leaving, he heard a clicking noise and looked down, seeing... her bratty sailscale. Perched on its legs, Telwren motioned at him pathetically, enough that Uquin found himself glaring at the creature despite himself. He had no meat, this time, to share - any snacks had long been given to his daughters after they became bored at the strange camp. "Away, Telwren, your mother will have food for you." He scolded, making a shooing motion with his chin free hand, since one arm was holding Padma up.

Padma, however, had other plans. Seeing the creature, she blinked, curiously, then cooed and before Uquin could stop her she was wriggling in his arms until her father was forced to set her down. "Hello Mr. Sailscale!" She cooed, shuffling her hands over her sash, which her papa let her wear around her waist - a sort of long shawl that could be dragged over her head, to protect her from the sun.

Her papa was a worry wart like that. From the shawl she produced a nut. She obeyed her father in not giving it to the beast directly, but instead set the nut on the ground infront of the curious lizard, then stepped back, smiling proudly. "Nuts are my favorite, but you can have some!"

Yelena looked over at Kiyelt and arched a brow as she saw him standing there with his mouth hanging open. What was wrong with him? Had something happened to him? She had no idea what was causing him to look like that. And it looked so strange. She frowned at him very confused. Having no clue what to do or say to him.

She heard what Antiope said and looked around trying to think about what to do. Maybe she should go scout out what was around there. Maybe she would find something good to do any maybe even a new creature. She cuddled Iniu close and smiled at the pretty sail scale. She waved goodbye to Mella.

Her eyes snapped back to Kiyelt and she stared at him in shock. Her yellow eyes wide. Then she shook her head she must have miss heard him. No way he just called her that. But still her cheeks flushed. "I'll go scouting it could be fun."

Her eyes flashed to his whip. She needed to get herself one of those. "Sounds like a good plan. Just you be nice to the beasts and you take care of them. No being mean or cruel." She looked around to see where she should go to scout out.

Vollerei grinned and reached out to tug gently on Rishima's antenna. "You sound too sweet! Tell him if he's getting to clingy... otherwise you'll end up with some creepy stalker." She Winked at Gerraden to let him know she was teasing... partly...
She was going to tease them more but then she noticed that Antiope was trying to get their attention again... and that quite a few people had decided to help out in this mission.
"Well... I was going to join the mission... but with these numbers I think I'll stay behind, guard the camp and let sneakier people take my spot." She said with a sigh. Then she perked up as she heard the hopeful confidence in the leader's voice and movements. Something good had happened! Something that had gotten rid of the nervous worry... slightly.
She agreed with Enlil's words; it was indeed the beasts that had beaten them... the warriors of the Obans were nothing special... but those beasts! The woman he motioned towards, standing by that huge beast made her eyes widen. This was no earthling! Ears of fins, with blue skin and markings far closer to the markings of her own people than that of the stoned single toned skin of the Earthlings. Fascinating! She wanted to ask a lot of questions... but realized this was not the time nor place... so instead asked something that was appropriate: "How many beasts will you bring? And what is it?" It was impressive looking, and she thought that it could help even the battle out... give them time to kill the beast at least!

Volle asks question.. she wants to ask more but will keep those to after the war XD Like what food they eat.. Tasty fish?

(Based on participation numbers, Volerei has decided she is too large a target and will stay behind to help guard camp instead!)

Makani is heading for the healer tents but if you want Sinny or Borra to spot him that is cool by me. ^_^ <3

Makani - mage
Location: Heading from the Edge of the Camp to the Healer's Tents
Post: 6

Makani gave a nod of his head, "If you are certain." He was glad to hear that it was only a 'scratch or two', it meant that he was able to keep the bestial warrior from doing anything too terrible. He had been so worried when he smelled blood, fearing the worst, "If you change your mind don't hesitate in asking for me, I think I should probably return to the Healer's Tents before my powers are needed."

He gave the Oban and his protect a smile and a nod as he said that he would be staying put, "Alright, I am sure that the two of you will be alright then." He said. The man didn't seem as though he were here to cause trouble or to hurt anyone, at least to Makani. He'd been tricked before though so he was glad that the one called Kennet was there to back the Oban up. His support was reassuring in Makani's mind. Giving the two of them a nod of his head he turned, about to head on his way when he heard Ruelash speaking up once more.

Giving a soft chuckle when the warrior told him that he wasn't 'done with him' he gave a nod, "Alright, I will be in the Healer's Tents if you wish to speak again, my dear Ruelash, it's been interesting." He told the warrior, lifting a hand to give the warrior a wave. He really was an interesting one, wasn't he? He wondered if he would actually come back to see him or if it were an empty threat. He supposed that he'd see soon enough he thought to himself as he headed on his way toward where he was supposed to be hanging out. As a healer he had his place, preparing for when the wounded arrived so that he could take care of them.

As he went he found himself wondering if he should find his sister and her troupe, to see how the lot of them were fairing. If he ran across them as he headed toward his destination he'd stop, if not he'd head for the healer's tents so that he could get to work.

Jacinthus - ranger
Location: With the vollunteer group.

Jacinthus gave a little smile as his sister mentioned Takoda not leaving him along for long, something that he guessed could very well be true. At the same time he'd much rather his mate waited here and did healer stuff... at the same time he knew that he was capable of some rather powerful magic as well. He knew that if the need for his magic arose that he might be useful to have on the battlefield. Giving a little sigh he admitted, "It's rather hard, having to look at Takoda, as well as at you, and see warriors instead of family. I'd much rather you both stayed home instead of coming here but I know I can't really ground the two of you." A shame if you asked him.

As he started toward where they were to be gathering for the mission that Antiope was preparing he sighed again, hearing his little sister demanding information from him. He turned to look over at her, seemed to think about it for a moment, then groaned, "He's... not here anymore." He explained, coming to a stop near to where everyone was gathering and said in a quiet tone of voice, "He took initiative and... ahh... went to get himself captured on purpose, so that he could help those who had been taken by the Obans during and after the last battle from the inside." He still felt the overwhelming desire to hit him for it... and really he'd half wanted to go with him, to be back up, but Chalcedony knew that things would look suspicious if everyone realized they were both gone.

"We will get that moron back soon enough, not as though I mean to just sit here and let them keep him or any of the other prisoners they took even if I have to take all the Obans down myself." He told his sister, then quickly added, "Not for him of course, don't mistake what I am saying." He didn't want his sister to get mixed up. Pausing he turned as he spotted someone rather familiar near by, a man he'd taken on a hunt a while back. Giving the man a nod he said in greeting, "Nyiim, it's good to see you again."

Jacin's ear gave a bit of a twitch as he heard a new voice calling out, turning toward where the woman was standing, and couldn't help but to go rather wide eyed, "What in the name of Tale...?" He muttered, starring as the woman who announced herself to be 'Naria of the Matori Tribe', a strange, exotic woman, and an ally against those of Oban. The fact that she had appeared made him smile, "This is a sign from the spirits of Tale, Little Kei, we are going to take the Obans down this time."

When the woman mentioned that 'together they wound end Oba's campaign' and seemed ready to answer all she could he merely called out, "When do we leave? I'm eager to take back our people from those Oban idiots."

Mella: Post 2/2
Location: supply tents very tired of running around chasing a little pest.

Telwren sniffed the nut before looking at the little food giver. Small and weak it was no wonder it could only give him inedible trash. Snorting he looked contemptuously at the nut before ignoring it and starring back up at the large food giver stranger. The scent of the big one was all over the little one yet he didn’t feed her properly. Hissing in disappointment Telwren kicked off the ground and circled once over the pair before taking off. It had to find his food giver and fix this problem hatchlings should never be forced to eat the inedible even if it was the spawn of that stranger. Flying over the many other useless loud ones, it took a while before his food giver was spotted. Folding his wings he dropped down on her back making his food giver shriek too loud. Hissing at her she calmed down once she looked at him. Really who else would dare lay claim on his food giver? The beast was so silly.

Mella had nearly had a heart attack until Telwren’s head pooped over her shoulder as he could hiss at her. “Oh Telwren I missed you. You shouldn’t hey!” Telwren climbed over her shoulder and dropped down to the ground. She reached to get him but he started to get away. Groaning she tried to catch the sail scale. Really why was he acting like this? First the fighting with Kiyelt’s sail scale and now he wouldn’t sit still! Most of the time he was complacent in her sash for him to be this riled up he must really hate the camp. She wondered if she shouldn’t start sleeping on the edge of the camp to help calm him down and keep him from getting worse. It took some time to catch up to him as he kept wriggling out of her grasp every time she managed to even touch him. Finally he stopped and was just starring up at something. Scooping him up she was tired of chasing him and to be honest a bit put out with Telwren. “Seesh Telwren I don’t know what’s gotten into you but really you are just going nuts today aren’t you?” Using a hand to wipe her forhead when she noticed Telwren stopped struggling she finally started to take notice of her surroundings. She was by the supply tents and there was a young child. She had seen a few children in the camp, but was never really certain what to make of it. Beside her was… Mella’s eyes widened and she made a small gasp. Uquin!

Iroia came back after sifting through the available knives with Ruelash who had followed her for the sweet temptation of stakeouts and sneak attack and the dark and crawly side of war. Woohoo! She had a grin from ear to ear and a maniacle gleam in her eye, she stopped by Antiope bowed and said "I would like to join the scouting mission as well."

Then she caught sight of the lady with the lizard and her eyes filled with awe, wonder and hope. Aquatic beastly battles?! Could she grow fins like that somehow? How cool would that be? How much better could this day get? A morning scrap, an insult fight, a fantastical beastie, a scouting mission and a new beautiful people with...fins!! Gah.

She grinned at Ruelash, maybe this was an effecting secret weapon, you know if the first battle wasn't just a fluke for the Obans...the buggers.

Kiyelt waved a hand at Iniu who was rather plump for a sailscale. "Does it look like I'm cruel?" Iniu chirped at him happy and warm in Yelena's arms. Sappy lizard. "I don't want to hurt the other sides beasts but if its them vs my people and my animals then there is little else I can do to protect them. I prefer to go after the people for they are the real cause." Sadness entered his eyes, he shook his head and tugged Yelena to Antiope. "Two for scouting...if your sure Yelena, I'll be there to watch your back."

Norcrest was smug that he had 'won' and Talwren had wandered off. Kiyelt petted the vain little thing. Crazy sailscales. He loved them to pieces. He would have Norcrest the better fighter look over Yelena if her goat and mammu could not then he would keep Iniu with him. That is if sailscales were not too conspicuous he might have to send them to a safe area instead.

"How interesting Yelena looks like she is adapted to water, isnt that cool?"
