Ricard was taken by complete surprise as Ashley's arms grabbed him and spun him around, and then even more so as the feel of her soft lips touched his cheek as she kissed him. He didn't know what to say, or even what to do, not that he had any chance to anyway. Almost as soon as Ashley had done that she had vanished down into her room. That was now the second time she kissed him, and this time it was by her own choice. Ricard shook his head and decided to put that aside for the moment. He had to concentrate. Ricard descended down into the guest bedroom and headed straight for the door.
Ricard grabbed the dresser and pushed it aside. He then pressed his ear against the door and listened. He couldn't see the hallway from the attic, so didn't know if there might be any of them in it. He heard nothing and then proceeded to very carefully open the door. He was never so glad to have a non squeaky door before. He opened it slightly and looked out. The hallway was empty. Before opening the door completely, he went back over to the dresser and pulled out a drawer. With the drawer in hand, Ricard opened the guast room's door completely and stepped out into the hallway.
Ricard was very careful with his steps. Luckily the hallway was a short one, so he could see the ones in the living room. He needed to make sure he got the attention of the ones in the kitchen also, so Ricard nervously stepped forward inch by inch, holding the dresser drawer ready to attack if need be. He managed to make it all the way to the kitchen door without attracting the attention. He breathed out a sigh of relief, and then swallowed hard. With all of his might, Ricard took the dresser drawer and slammed it into the wall, leaving a nice sized dent and splintering the drawer itself.
The zombies in the kitchen turned immediately and charged forward, as did the ones in the living room. Ricard wasted no time in booking it down the hallway, shouting at them to "come and get him" as he did so. He had to make sure they didn't get lost. Keeping a small but still safe distane between himself and them, Ricard led them into the guest bedroom and ran up into the attic. The zombies tried giving chase, but were unable to make it up the shelves luckily enough. Had they been actual stairs Ricard might have had to worry. When Ricard saw that all 5 had entered the room and were trying to squeeze into the closet, he shouted as loud as he could, "ASHLEY, NOW!"

"You'll see," Ricard answered simply as he stepped into the kitchen and headed for the backdoor. "I'll meet you in the kitchen in a few minutes." Ricard peered out the glass door into the backyard and spotted the shed at the far end. It was a much larger shed than he was used to, designed into the shape of a small house or barn. That certainly explained how Ashley could possibly have been building something in it. Ricard also noticed two zombies standing back there also, but they weren't in direct line of the shed. Unfortunately, Ricard could clearly see a lock on the shed doors. He was about to call out to Ashley when he noticed a pair of keys labeled 'shed' hanging next to the back door. He smiled, grabbed the keys, and went outside.
Ricard wasn't sure how quietly he could walk through the yard, so instead opted to run straight to the shed. He had the keys ready, so once he got there he quickly unlocked the doors and walked in, closing them behind him. He took a quick peak out of the shed's window and saw that he had aroused one of the zombies, but the way it moved made it seem that it had not seen him, and so was unaware of where he currently was. Turning around, Ricard saw an almost completed motorcycle in the center of the shed. Around it were various parts for the bike as well as toolboxes, some open and others closed. 'Too bad she never finished it,' Ricard thought, 'it could have come in handy.
Ricard turned his attention to the walls, looking for anything that would come in handy. His eyes first fell upon a crowbar, and he smiled. He took it off the wall, feeling the wieght of it in his hands, and nodded. Satisfied, he hooked the curved end of the crowbar around one of the belt loops of his pants and continued looking. He picked up a claw hammer, slipping that through another belt loop, and a hatchet, before turning his attention to the toolboxes. Searching through them, he grabbed both a regular and a phillip's head screwdriver, the longest, thickest ones he could find. Some scratching at the door caught his attention, and he knew one of the zombies had found him. He also noticed leaning by the door a few metal poles, about 4 feet in length and maybe 3/4" in diameter. they were probably used for stakes, but Ricard had other plans in store.
Ricard slipped the screwdrivers in his pockets, slipped the hatchet through his back belt loop, and then grabbed one of the metal poles in each hand. Ricard took another glance out of the shed window and saw the zombie roaming aimlessly around the shed doors. Taking a deep breath, Ricard stood behind the shed doors and pushed them open. The zombie immediately turned to attack, but Ricard was too quick. With one of the poles Ricard whacked the zombie in the legs, knocking it down to it's knees, and then then quickly followed through with the other pole slamming against the zombie's head, knocking it fully to the ground. Without waiting to see if it was truly dead or not, Ricard ran back to the house and entered the kitchen, closing and locking the door behind him.

"But what are you," Ricard began as Ashley starting walking passed him, "whatever, but here, take this with you." Ricard handed her one of the metal poles in his hands. "We can divide the other weapons up later, but for now this should be good for you." Once Ashley had left he walked over to the table where the supplies were and carried them over to the counter, that way he could keep an eye on the backyard and Ashley while he did what he needed to. He set up both backpacks and began dividing the supplies evenly; the dog food, the water, Ashley's clothes. He placed Ashley's MP3 in one backpack and the radio in the other, dividing the batteries up evenly as well. He placed one lantern in one backpack and the other one in the other, and the blankets he rolled up to be tied on later. He then divided what food Ashley had gathered so far and then started searching the cupboards himself for more, all the while making sure to keep an eye on the backyard.
