Ugh, Zo, that sounds almost as annoying as the "But I want to relate to the characters!" argument.
The writers I admire most tend to include either really harsh truths, or vivid things, and aren't bothered about putting their characters through the sticks if it serves a purpose, like the theme, and conveys something of importance.
The first thing we learned in A-level Literature? The characters aren't PEOPLE. They're constructs, a tool, and the sort you'd want to take tea with are the most boring of them all. I think a lot of people overlook good Literature because it doesn't have characters they can like in.
Oh, but what really tickled me was reading a thread on TwilightMums when I was very bored, reviewing Wuthering Heights. They really just didn't get it. At all. They thought the only character who set a good example was Edgar Linton...
...You know, the man who locks his wilderness-loving wife up, closes the window on her, keeps his daughter confined to the tame gardens... The point about The Grange is it's artificial, and just as bloody underneath, while the farm's frankness, naturalness... is a lot more honest and less pretentious.
I'm going to go and grumble in the corner for a bit.

The Principality of Lutoplia is a small, economically powerful nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 32 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
The large, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 22%. A substantial private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Retail.
A dictator has seized power and outlawed elections, euthanasia is legal, Harry Potter books are banned, and the mining industry is making inroads into environmentally sensitive areas. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Lutoplia's national animal is the Soulripper, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Lucius.
I'm the worst leader ever. lol
Also; 151st post. First gen complete. Now start second gen.

Hey everyone. I'mma leaving the guild for a while. ( though I'm not sure anyone will notice. I mostly read instead of post) Anyways, I'm wanting to put Cynthia up for grabs is anyone wants her ( as long as BAM is ok with it).
I'll be back in a month or so. I'm going home in a week-ish and my parents decided to tell me that the internet is worthless and that it doesn't need to be in the house. Once I start working I should be able to turn it on and be a responsible adult.
I still should be here off and on during this week tho smile

Oh, no! So your parents just decided not to have internet anymore? I understand that it can be quite an expense, and if they personally don't use it . . . As an information professional (or so we librarians like to call ourselves when we're trying to be official) I definitely wouldn't agree that it's worthless, but it can be an unnecessary expense in some cases. Is there somewhere else you can get online? I'm sure your public library has access.
Hopefully you'll still be able to get on, but I'm sure we don't need to replace you for Cynthia. I'm sure Bamf will be okay with sending her on a special mission or something that would let her be out of the picture for a while. =)

Ouch, that sucks Lots of sun sad . Well, I think you have to do what your parents really want you to do in order to retrieve the internet connection. Honestly, I think I can't "live" without Internet gonk .
Coming back to more RPG-related matters and not to burst anyone's bubbles or such, what should we post now by the way? I mean...in our previous posts, we centered the posts' idea in arriving at the ships of the rebels and introducing our characters, what idea now should our next posts be revolving around? If Ma'am BAMFomet already has posted somewhere an update or something on what idea should our posts contain next/what should our characters do now, then please pardon me and my ignorance.

As I understand it, we're currently waiting for Bamf to post in the roleplay forum as N (translating Jack the Chansey) to officially divide us up. From there, I think we'll be time-jumping to the separate boats . . . ? I may be wrong there, though. The lists were posted back here, in case you missed it. (Nenna and Ballade may be swapped, however; I'm still not entirely sure what the official decision was on that.)

^ Thanks so much for the reply. I guess I can wait, besides I have some things to do in free time, like read Pokemon Adventures and play FFIV: The After years.

- On a really different note So Easter was....alright. I think. .___.; We went to our grandparent's house, talked with the family. Fought. Made up. Laughed. And fought again. TT v TT;;;
And I had to quit an RP that I would have loved to stay in if it weren't for the fact I'm joining too many RPs. ; v ; Mahou Shojo Madoka Magica RP....THAT WAS LOVE.....that series is depressing in a GOOD WAY. TT A TT; And I am in the middle of quitting a Hetalia roleplay. So right now, I'm only in this RP that I will CLING TO F O R E V A H R. Nothing will make me quit this one. xD
But now.... [/WAVEWAVEWAVEWAVEWAVEWAVEWAVEWAVE]

Glad I could help, Xerexz! Yeah, I have plenty to keep me busy this week. Unfortunately, it's more along the lines of a work-and-homework sort of busy. A roleplay distraction wouldn't go amiss, though. =)
Hope you enjoy your concert, Themata!
Obviously everyone's after-Easter will be better with Peeps. Specifically, Peep dioramas. Nothing makes a Monday better than sugar-covered marshmallow animals depicting scenes from news and pop culture.
In totally unrelated news, we just sold my car. Which is great--it was really having too many problems, and I'm really looking forward to the possibility of getting something with cruise control and learning how to drive a stick shift. But it was my first car, and I'm actually rather sad to see it go. Oh, Murphy, the times we had. Like how your rear tiny window was smashed out the night I got you and was replaced by a piece of Plexiglas that we never got around to switching out. Or how there's that key that broke off in the driver's side door so you can't be unlocked from that side. Or how your starter is wonky and you have to be started by turning the key and pressing a big shiny button. Or how the cat walked in something weird and now there are permanent kitty tracks along your passenger side door. I hope your new owner has better luck with you. Maybe I shouldn't have named you Murphy.

Oh, Sun, I'm sorry to hear that and I hope you get back to us soon. >: Parents can be such a pain in the neck (so, they would argue, can offspring...)
...xD; I'm glad I'm not the only one who names the car (I've got the whole family, friends, and our old driving instructor calling it Marvin now too.) ; u; He's having his back bumper fixed because my sister got him in to an accident.
