Late perhaps, but it could easily be said the threesome was fashionable. Either gentle escorting her was dressed to the nines, and Hadiyya herself had gone above and beyond to look beautiful for the evening. Exotic and lovely in swathes of black with the faintest of aquatic touches here and their for eye catching accent. Though even quite obviously dressed up, the djinn seemed to be showing just as much skin as normal, and every inch of mochaccino silk was flawless. Touches of swirled henna chasing calves and thighs, and even delicate hands, finger tips completely tipped in dark pigment. The startling aspect wasn't her attire, though that was ravishing all on it's own, no, the eye catching factor of the ghoul's look had to be impossible lengths of ebony hair that lay half unbound to brush her back like a cloak, pooling on the ground and bare feet.

Faintly the djinn tightened her grip on the nergal's arm, bright eyes rolling up to meet acidic greens. She'd seen the dancing, and there she would be insisting on their entering the competition. But before that, there was another boil on her arm to attend to.

Slipping her arm free of her boilfriend's, Yaya turned to face Aksaja completely, resting dainty fingertips against the stylish lapels of his fashionable vest. "You're most assuredly ours, but I'm afraid the first dance goes to Sharra." If he wanted, she'd be more then happy to partner with him later. Tracing his bare arm with those same roaming fingers, she took his hand and brought it up to her lips for a gentle kiss, then offered him a grin before turning back to her nergal.

"Shall we?" She held her hand out to him, and when his fingers touched her palm she pulled him forward and out onto the dance floor with the other couples.

"I think I could manage it, provided we don't try to do anything overly fancy..." It felt a bit bad; it had rather fouled things up, hadn't it? Poor Junko.

Sepheran had walked Maritess to the Cafeteria like a proper gentleman. It didn't take all that long and they chattered a small bit, talking about all the usual little things one would do just trying to break the ice and get more comfortable with each other.

Soon the two found themselves standing outside the doors tot he dance. Sepheran looked over to Tess giving her a smile, "Well, ready to head in? I'm sure Lizzy is waiting to see us too," Sepheran said as he lead Tess inside music filling the room as an announcement seemed to be being made. He tilted his head wondering what was going on. Focusing on his hearing he seemed to hear couples calling out about some sort of Dance contest. Well...that seemed fun and interesting. It's a dance after all, so why not join. Even if they failed the first round they would still have lots of fun.

Grinning he turned to Maritess. "Tess...how about we dance? It will be fun, I may have bad eyesight but I'm still quite good at dancing, just follow my lead okay?" He stated letting his arm drop hers and taking her hand he began to move forward. He was gentle, and gently trying to coax her since he figured she would probably be a little reluctant to dance. If she didn't do this though he figured she would end up regretting it, it's a dance after all, they should dance. Nodding softly he lifted his hand in the air.

Sepheran and Maritess will be dancing like we've never danced before!

He called out before smiling and turning back to Tess, "Just trust me, I'll take good care of you okay? Don't worry about messing up, this is just about having fun," Sepheran added making his way with her to the dance floor.

Aksaja was looking rather like a cat that had gotten into far too much cream - and without being caught no less - as he sauntered into the room with the djinn and nergal. He was quite looking forward to what might occur after the dance, but for now . . . he intended to enjoy himself to the fullest. So when Yaya claimed Sharra for the first dance, the lightning dragon just offered her an elegant sort of bow and faded back a bit to watch.

Heh. To think . . . he had considered all of the etiquette and dancing lessons and the like back home to be utterly useless. Yet here he was. Watching the dance floor for a few moments, he tilted head slightly, noticing a few single people also dancing. Hmm. Well, why not?

Smirking, Aksaja also moved out onto the floor. Perhaps he could (politely) cut on a dance with Yaya at some point.

Calder and Colette sipped punch and were back to saying very little. It was mainly due to the fact they were in a intimate situation of romance, on THE Scantine's day, and he knew nothing about this ghoul. She was cute in that fluff and frills sort of way, not his usual cup of guts, but not an ugo either. It was clearly apparent that many boils would fight tooth and claw for her with how attractive she was, which made him wonder – why was she alone? Was she defective? Did she sprout heads that could tear a kelpie's head off if they so much as blinked the wrong way? Did she secrete poison? There had to be something that meant she was alone now. He had to wonder.

At the mention of a dance, he perked up and DID laugh when the mike was given. It was hilarious to see Riley of all creatures with a mike. Fail for the purple girl, but he tried his best to remain civil – which was hard to do. He did have a date and said date probably liked Riley. When the dance was announced, the pressure was on. The most he ever danced was outside in kelpie celebrations and monster get togethers. Not this sort of party. Still, he did know how to dance. Actually, he knew two types of dances from his parents, both of mixed cultures. Scottish and British. Not all rivers went through the great highlands after all.

Turning to her, he looked out and nodded. "It is a dance." And this was the second thing he was supposed to do as a gentleman on his small checklist. Taking her hand, he made his way over to where the dance floor was, though his left hoof did oddly slip once – though he quickly remained his balance and played it off. Strange. He usually was more graceful on his feet. What was going on?

As he waited for a spot, he noticed Malodore dance with someone else and wondered if he found someone better. Clearly he approved, until he crashed. OUCH! Then again, did creatures made of bone care about falling down – unless they broke said bones? It wasn't like he was going to get bruised. Whatever the case, it was then with a grand smile that Riley stepped in, untangled the pair and walked off with the good doctor – bridal style.

"Hey Riley! I believe the church is that way." He said, jabbing a finger behind him. Smiling, he turned back to the dancefloor.

Calder had been trying to see where Christof was since coming here, and he spotted him in the most unlikely of places. On the dancefloor. As for dancing, Calder had NO idea what the Igor was doing. He looked like he was trying to see if he could jump and was getting limbered up. Groaning, he shook his head and thought that, at some point, the Igor needed to dance. Still, he wasn't falling down, so that was something.

Taking Colette's hand, he moved out onto the dance floor and rose Colette's hand up. It was good they were of rather normal height, and he stepped back, leaned into a bow, and started to move. It was a folk dance, a simple one that usually had a ribbon tied about the wrist, but he simple held her hand as he moved and they turned about. It wasn't fancy footwork, and it wasn't just spazzing out in place. Just a simple turn here and turn here. It was only once that he felt his hoof slip and he moved in closer to the ghoul, pressing in to wrap her arm about her to steady himself.

Okay…something was wrong here. Something was seriously wrong!

Riley eyed Malodore thoughtfully for a moment, trying to decide if it was just being nice, or if it really wouldn't mind, when she heard a scuffle at the stage. Alas, it looked like her time was going to be strained a little until the contest was over.

Well, now that you're out, you can come over and keep me company on stage as long as you want. Don't let me keep you from mingling, though. She reached out and adjusted it's cravat, which had smushed slightly in the fall, and her eyes crinkled fondly. I'll be back soon, regardless.

She headed back to the stage, bending down to shush the fighting gnomes, who were at an odds about a decision. Her hush stilled them, but only for a moment. Finally, one of them popped up.

"Charlie and Amrita are definitely out!"

Another gnome got up and punched it in the face, but there was no other dissention, so Riley moved to the dance floor to tape Charlie and Amrita on the shoulder. Nothing personal, of course. She murmured to them both, her eyes resting on Amrita for a moment. She hoped this quick loss would not affect her self-esteem too much..

Catching Calder's crack, she glared daggers at the kelpie, and silently hoped he was about to trip on his face and give her a reason to laugh.

Tilting head just a bit, Aksaja listened to the beat of the music for a moment before he started dancing . . .

He was doing all right at first, until the song quite suddenly changed and the lightning dragon failed to notice for a moment or two. Then he realized that he was horribly off, and flailed a bit trying to correct himself.

Sharra nearly overbalanced as he was rather abruptly pulled away from their third member towards the dance floor, but saved himself in a somewhat graceful manner as his lady whisked him to the dance floor. Waving at the dragon as he departed, he knew full well that both he and the ghoul would be dancing with the ebon-haired boil later. Heh. Hopefully they wouldn't be so hapless as some of the other couples currently making their attempts out here to the music.

Sliding a hand to her waist, he smiled fondly at Yaya, leaning forward to give her lovely, full lips a soft peck. The twosome didn't really have to discuss what they were doing, as the music, and the boil's poise dictated the dance they were about to engage in. Now, Sharra was profoundly glad that his aunts had insisted upon all those dancing and etiquette lessons that the boil had bemoaned as 'too girly' in his childhood. They certainly came in handy now, didn't they? It meant that he wouldn't completely trip over his own feet whilst leading. "All right...let's give it a shot, eh, love?" The words rolled off his tongue easily, after all...the ravishing djinn had already tossed the endearment his way, about time he returned it in kind.

And with that, he stepped out, boldly leading. Yes, he'd really do his utmost not to make an utter nuisance of the two of them amongst all the other dancers...shouldn't be too hard, with such a lass as his partner, right?

As clawed fingers slide along the bare curve of her hip the djinn rolled her eyes down to watch, almost warily, the gentle brush of razor sharp tips against her skin made her shiver, and that had little to do with fear. She looked up again as they found their place on the floor, and eagerly accepted the chaste touch of lips before resting her hand lightly on his shoulder, posture taking familiar, rigid lines.

And then he spoke, and one single syllable word sent an electric shock through her body. Fingertips tingling, almost numb as butterflies swirled within her, and she nearly swooned, pulse suddenly hammering in her throat. Love, so simple a word, had slipped from that silver tongue for the very first time, and she was nearly dazed by it. Now wasn't the time to go all weak knead though, there was a contest underway, and it took two to tango. Or in their case waltz.

Years of lessons showed true as the djinn was lead across the floor. Bare feet arched in the absence of heels, but she was no less graceful as the moved. Endlessly long hair swirling about them like the elegant lengths of some ethereal ball gown.

Upon hearing the announcement for the dancing contest, Astra looked towards the stage, watching the couples that began to filer onto it and begin their various dances. Some looked absolutely amazing while others...weren't so much. As time progressed, she felt herself grow antsy, wanting to join in on the dancing, before noticing with glee that some other students had jumped onto the dance floor by themselves. They were allowed to dance by themselves!? awesome! She was quick to scuttle onto the dance floor herself, trying not to get trampled by the other dancers.

((HELPS IF I ROLL! BD ))

With her feet planted safely on the ground, Astra listened to the beat of the song to get a feel for it, and began to move along with the music, swaying at first and then making little twirls on the dance floor. She began to get so into the music, she was unable to notice who she was dancing around, and before she realized, someone had misplaced their step, causing her fall over and -

It seemed that Carry was feeling better, as West and his adorable date arrived, she seemed to relax and be able to talk without seeming... off. Maybe he had been imagining it or something. He was rubbing his cheek a bit before he studied West, mentally approving of the attire. He definitely could clean up nice, that boil. And Tset? Was that the ghoul's name? She was rather lovely in her dress, though she seemed shy. When she looked at him, he placed a hand on his chest and bowed politely before her. If Carry wished to do introductions, he'd leave that up to her. "Green isn't the only color I have to be, you know." He seemed amused by that, but it was easy enough to assume as all he tended to wear was his acid green outlook. Maybe it was just because everyone expected him to be the color he just did it.

The next half hour seemed to go by in a bit of a blur. Something was going on and it was involving dancing? He liked to dance for fun, not for the sake of a contest, but before he could even think to say anything, Carry had signed them up. Ah well, it'd still be fun either which way, right? "I'm honored to have this dance with you, my dear." His grin widened a bit when she kissed his cheek before he took her hand and led her out onto the dance for.

The two were in the midst of lessons, him teaching her about it whenever they spent time together. So their dancing was slow, leisurely and... and a bit stiff. Carry was still feeling shy over such things, he could sense it from the way she held herself. It was a bit difficult to dance with a somewhat stiff partner, but it wasn't like he was one to judge. No one was an excellent dancer and though he prided himself on his skill, a couple pair never had one partner better than the other. They both danced at the same speed as the other. Flow was always important.

Lucien managed to hug back and after Israfel had pulled back a little he was able to get a good look at him. Lucien never had much for fashion but he realized Israfel was dressed differently than usual. Lucien wasn't very good at telling gender defining clothing apart, but he did think Israfel looks especially nice tonight and was enjoying looking at him. His precious and free bird... he did a good job saving him from those people trying to sell him. Who knows what they would have done with him!

"T-thank you!" He said to Israfel before giving a sincere, "You look pretty," back at him.

The pleasantries ended when Israfel took his hand and asked him to dance. He froze. His hand tightened around his bird's but he didn't move. Dance? No one had told him what dancing was yet! How was he supposed to dance? He couldn't say no to his friend so he slowly nodded his head, but his head was full of air and blank ideas. His mind had one thought clearly in its mind though and that was: Israfel wants to dance. I must dance. How do I dance? He looked around slowly before looking back at Israfel.

"I'd love to," he began before he paused. Would Israfel mind? Lucien had no idea what dancing was and could only get little ideas here and there from watching other people... but they all seemed to be doing different things. Was there something specific they were supposed to do? "Will you show me how to do this thing called dancing? I've heard much about it but have never done."

Israfel and Lucien will be dancing like we've never danced before! Seriously.
