Dmitri glanced at her, still fighting the thought in his head that this was a bad idea. He got out of the car and locked the doors before walking into the alley. He was keeping himself from telling her to suck it up. If she wanted to ruin both their nights, that was her choice. And it would be her fault if she didn't have any fun.

He went up to the counter and paid for one game and two shoe rentals. "You know..." he said as they gave them the shoes. "Some people think bowling shoes are fashionable." He grabbed his own shoes and glanced at her, raising an eyebrow. He didn't wait for a reaction and, in stead, walked to the alley they were assigned to.

Screw being a gentleman. If she's not going to appreciate it, I might as well not even try...

A small smile flickered upon Juliet's lips as she watched him walk away. Up until then he had acted like every other guy her parents had set up with her to date or see. It was like being in Germany again, or at those "glorious" balls that her dad always brought her to when working with another company. He wanted her to "seal the deal". b*****d, she thought as she pushed the smile back into a smirk and walked after him.

"I wasn't being sarcastic about the shoes," she said almost quietly, "I personally think they really are spiffy."

What was she doing... Yes, she hated him, everything about him. But was she going to be down right miserable? Damn... she didn't want to be miserable. She really just wanted to be happy. Was that do hard? She could just be herself.

Yes, she thought. She'd do that. If she felt a snippy response was needed, then she'd give it. Else... she'd just... be nice... like normal.

Dmitri found a bowling ball that he liked and was sitting down at their lane. He glanced back at her and gave a slight smile as he was taking his shoes off.

"Vell zhat's good, I suppose. Vouldn't want you to look like a clown now, vouldn't ve?" He pulled his own shoes on and stood up, looking at them. "I think I look rather like a clown..."

"A short, Russian clown." she said before pausing and laughing, "Oi,... I'm sorry. Heh... I just... pictured you in a clown suit doing... that... forgive me, I forget the name, but the dance that Russians are known for. It was quite amusing."

And here she was laughing at him. Well, she thought, at least she was laughing at a thought of him... cause he looked stupid... or cute. Something like that.

"The Cossack dance?" Dmitri offered. He debated trying to actually do it for a moment. While all of his being said not to, the small voice that argued for him to do it apparently wasn't as small as he thought.

"Like, zhis one?" he asked as he squatted down and started 'dancing' with a very serious look on his face. He did quite well at first but then he lost his footing. What little traction was on the bottom of his shoes stopped being enough to keep him planted and he slipped and fell.

"Ow..." he said as he pushed himself back up.

Him doing his "dance" was enough to send her into hysterics. Combine that with him falling and you got a very flushed-faced, happy Juliet who's sides ached from laughing.

She came over to him and offered him her hand, still laughing.

"Well done," she said through her laughter, tears puddling in the corner of her eyes.

Dmitri's traveled up her arm to her as she offered him her hand. A genuine smile came onto his face as he took her hand. He stood up and brushed his bum off. "Sank you," he said before stretching a bit.

"Now you going to find a bowling ball or vhat?"

"I suppose then," she said, her smile slowly fading to a small smirk.

"I'm no good though," she warned, finding a bowling ball, "But I assume you don't care."

"No I don't," Dmitri replied. "Because I'm bad too." He smiled as he punched in their names into the computer. He swung his legs slightly as he did so before glancing back at her. "Do to you want me to go first or you?"

"Well,... I suppose I won't feel so bad then," she said as she sat down, "Why don't you go first? I don't have my shoes on yet so... yhea..."

She set her bowling ball into the seat next to her and started to unbuckle her boots and loosened them from her feet. A chill ran through her as she did so, the cold air brushing against her now exposed skin.

"Alright," Dmitri replied. He stood up and grabbed his ball and stood for a minute, thinking. He stared down at the pins, holding the ball up towards his chest. His eyebrows furrowed slightly as he concentrated. He looked like he was making some life-altering decision.

Finally, he took the few steps forward and let his arm swing back before he rolled the ball. It landed smoothly and rolled down the lane...right into the gutter. He pouted slightly and walked back to retrieve his ball. "See, I told you I was bad," he commented as he picked his ball back out.

He went back and scrunched up his face much like he had on his first roll. He didn't take quite as long this time though. He went forward and rolled his ball once again. This time, it teetered towards the edge of the gutter. It just barely knocked one pin over before falling down.

Dmitri gave a sort of embarrassed smile as he slouched forward a bit. He turned around and held up one finger. He could have very well been blushing. "Yay," he said rather unenthusiastically.

Juliet muffled her laugh as she watched him. He was so serious, it was ridiculous. She couldn't help but notice how he wiggled his butt ever so slightly when he aimed too. It was quite amusing.

"Don't worry. One will be sufficient to beat me.... really... I'll try to get a gutter for you," she said with a smile as she stood and rolled. It wasn't as bad as his. It was actually just a little less than average she guessed. She got four pins knocked down.

She smiled slightly, "Oh drat, I was going for one....." she muttered as she rolled once more and succeeded in missing them all together.

"See! It's all good~!"

Dmitri got to his feet from the seat he was sitting in while he watched her. "Don't try to lose to me," he said as he retrieved his ball. "You're supposed to actually try."

He rolled again. This time, he scored a total of three points. He smiled again slightly as he went back to wait for her. "Hah, we're tied."

It occurred to him how funny this whole thing was. He had picked bowling for them, even though the was terrible at it. He had no real reason other than that it was a fairly cheap date that could be as long or as short as she wanted.

"But," she said walking past him and back to her seat, "If I tried I'd kick yer butt. True, I think it may be pay back for my earlier loss, but we wouldn't want you feeling too much like a fool."

Instead of sitting she just stood in front of her seat, her hands on her hips swaying ever so slightly to her own tune. She was silent for a moment before looking over at the bar.

"You know... I think I want something to drink. I'll be back with a pitcher," she said as she hopped off to the bar. If she could have it her way she would have added some vodka to it, but seeing as the bartender wasn't easily distracted or young enough for her to beg she settled for just two glasses and a pitcher of some dark coloured pop.

"I have no clue what this is," she said as she came back, putting the cups down upon their small table and filling them, "But he was grinning when he gave it to me. I'm a little afraid. He said it was a... oh what was it... a train wreck... I've not had that before. Sounds like a cocktail gone bad to me."

Dmitri was sitting at his seat, humming to himself when Juliet came back. Over the speakers, "Everything You Want" was playing quite loudly. He smiled as she came back and glanced at the pitcher.

"A...train vreck?" he repeated. "Sounds dangerous." He paused and got to his feet, walking over to the table. "...I actually might have heard of it before, now zhat I'm sinking of it...maybe." He gave a shrug and glanced at her, taking a cup. "Are you brave enough to try it first or should I?"
