ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Kira's jaw literally dropped at first. The response caught her so utterly off guard that for a moment she seemed to cease functioning. She just stared, blankly, until Lake spoke up and snapped her out of it.
Family reunion?
"He is NOT my dad!" she shrieked, but he was already gone, vanishing through the doorway and out of sight. Again, s he was briefly left to stand there, staring after him in disbelief, after a slight cringe from the look she'd received. What the hell was going on?
"...wh-what.. This is your fault!" she quickly decided, jabbing a clawed finger toward the white-haired stranger.
"You're not my dad. That isn't true, so tell me why you know me!" ♥ ☓ ♥

"Fear. Fear is my ally." As Lake left the room, the white-haired hellion couldn't help but release a string of wild giggling, finding the whole situation far more humorous than it was. Indeed, the laughter was almost melodramatically loud, practically fake in the way he made it sound, and yet his body writhed with every ounce of true humor that it could.
"Yo no sé ustedes, niña," he spoke, suddenly speaking in Spanish (and rather fluently). He turned to face her, a dangerous gleam in his eyes- not hostile, but definitely dangerous. "Pero sé el demonio dentro de ti! No puedo creer que usted es compatible! Qué suerte!"
With that, he merely turned around and began to walk toward the exit, still cackling ever few steps as he did, as if it had been truly a funny moment."As you scream in terror...""I shall scream in p̡̼̩͔̘̟̱̝̮͒͑̆ͬ͟l̶̲̣̮̦̯̑̋e͚͈͍̤̟͓͛̓͌̍̈ͩͦ̚͜͞a̭̗͌͊̔̏͑s̫̯͇̞̞̣ͬ̇ͤ͂̈́̈ͮ͜͝ͅų̘̼̗͕̊͛͟r͙̹̙̣̤͖̗̐͂̃̉͋͑̃̈͜͞e͋̂͂ͯ̉͂̈́҉҉̡̛̩̬̟̻̞̞̞̹͎͙̘̪̠̤̩̦̳͉̙̲͍̰͐̍ͣ͋̔ͬ̑́ͧ̓ͥ͛̾̀̕͡."

.Lake. Lake didn't get far...not as far as he would have liked. Not that he really knew where he was going - he had a limited number of places he knew how to get to, and with a hole (or two) in his chest, he didn't much feel like exploring the facility any further at the moment.
He wound up slumped against the wall again, wheezing, and then sliding down to the floor, leaving a smearing of blood upon the metal behind him. Even with no witnesses, he did not allow any pain to show on his face, and indeed, was incredibly stubborn in regards to even acknowledging whether his injuries were hurting him or not. He had long since learned that the more he didn't let himself feel pain, the better. He was sure he felt it at some level, deep in his brain, but he had taught himself to push that aside a long time ago. He expected the wounds would heal within a day or two, anyway.
It's not like it'll kill me. Nothing ever does.

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Kira didn't find any bit of this funny, at all. It became even less humorous when he started spouting off words in some language that sounded like Spanish. "What is wr-" she started to irritably snap, until she caught sight of his eyes, and she flinched back again. Perhaps yelling at him was pressing her luck?
Though, after only a second she had begun glaring right back at him, looking thoroughly annoyed.
"You're going to tell me someday!" she shouted after him as he made his cackling way through the door. "We're both stuck, so you couldn't avoid me if you tried!"
Still, for a moment she simply stood there, silently fuming. She could find him anytime she wanted now. She was sure of that. So, it was time to find someone else who seemed a bit more sane, but also more prone to needless shouting. She supposed he was preferable though... and she really didn't want him thinking that weirdo was related to her. They looked nothing alike!
The blood made the process of tracking even easier, but at the same time more repulsive. Kira found herself walking with her hand pressed back over her mouth and nose, trying to dull the scent, her eyes narrowed irritably. But as she rounded a corner and saw her target slumped against the wall before her, she froze, her expression shifting instantly back to alarm.
"...he's not my dad."
She paused, looking slightly surprised at herself, and tried again.
"Are.. you okay..?" ♥ ☓ ♥

.Lake. Lake rolled his head back across the wall to look up at her, his expression unenthused.
"What...? What the hell are you doing here?" He sighed and shifted his head to gaze at the opposite wall again, arms slumped at his sides. "Look, you found daddy, there's no need to follow me around any more."
Well...he supposed she could be telling the truth. Why would she bother sticking with him, if she had been reunited with her own kin?
"What are you, anyway?" he murmured, closing his eyes. "Why would that guy act like he knew you?" A pause. "Why...did you try to stick up for me? Don't think I owe you anything in return! I don't have anything, anyway. Tough luck! I don't need anybody..." He huffed, but it turned into a cough, and more blood trickled down over his face. "Urgh...damnit-!" He didn't bother wiping it away this time...he just closed his eyes again, thin frame limp against the wall. "Where'd pops go?" he grumbled, not looking at her. "He find somebody else to chew on?"

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓"I said he's not!" Kira snapped, scowling at the very idea. "My dad's not completely insane."
She kept her distance, more wary of the blood than him, and stood stiffly a few feet away, just watching. When he spoke, she remained silent for a second, processing his questions, then huffed out a sigh. "I don't know what I am," she grumbled sulkily, tugging upon one of her ears. Her head tilted with it, and she let go, her right hand remaining over her mouth all the while.
"I don't know why he said that, and.. and if I can stop something, then I'm going to stop it." She paused, frowning toward him again. "...even if the guy's completely ungrateful about it. I'm not expecting anything in return."
Flinching at the sight of blood rolling down his face, she shrank back and her fingers shifted to pinch her nose instead of simply cover it. "Don't call him that!" she cried, voice raising again. "I don't know!" ♥ ☓ ♥

.Lake. "Okay, okay...calm down." He waved a hand at her wearily. "So the guy's insane. What's new in this place?"
Although, his expression may have softened - just slightly - as she told him she did not really know what she was. That she had no definitive way to prove she was just a regular human girl.
"People always expect things in return for doing stuff," he tutored her, scoffing a little and resting a hand on his chest again. He scratched the back of his head. "Hey. What're you so freaked about?" He looked her up and down as she hovered a few feet away. "Kind of a delayed reaction, don't you think? I figured you woulda run the first time you saw my fangs come out..."

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Kira regarded him for a second, before she huffed out another sigh and did begin to try and calm herself. It was hard though. Her tail's fur was still standing somewhat on end, and her fingers were firmly pinching her nose, the rest of her hand still positioned over her mouth. She still had fangs, and a claw tipped every finger. She was envious of how easily his had gone away...
She just shrugged at his first comment, not willing to argue. But as he finally asked about her, she simply frowned and slid down against the wall, remaining crouched and watching.
"...it's the blood," she replied slowly. "It makes me... feel sick. I can't handle it very well.. Are you really okay?" He didn't seem bothered at all, but from her angle, it'd looked like he'd been stabbed pretty deep. ♥ ☓ ♥

.Lake. "Hmph. Squeamish girl," Lake accused, not bothering to open his eyes as he gave a low chuckle. He shook his head. "...I'm fine," he relented, since she had asked him twice now - he wasn't quite sure anyone had even asked him ONCE before in his life. "I'm just a little tired." He sighed, lifting his hand at last to wipe his mouth and then looking down at himself, pulling his shirt up to examine the damage properly. Much like his arms, his torso was heavily scarred, with a messy wound in the center of his chest that had run blood down across his strong, lithe (rather underfed) stomach and jutting hips.
Great. Now the front of my shirt looks just like the back.
The wound could have been worse...he was just pleased that it hadn't gone all the way through him. He dropped his shirt back down and leaned against the wall once again.
"Hey. Kid. Don't suppose those ears and tail come with a healing power or two? Or...do you at least have some booze on you? I think I'm gonna snap if I don't find a beer soon..."

 Craig Ialden
The Shadow Man
"What if I were to...
...disappear...
...in front of your very eyes?"
As Craig listened to the girl talk, he looked her over, trying to judge if she was telling the truth. Unfortunately, he wasn't very skilled at it. He did notice some things though. For one, she was very pretty. For the other, she didn't seem like the sharpest crayon in the box. Especially if she thought that he was going to believe something like she was rehearsing for a play. Well, unless she really was insane. If she truly thought that she was doing a play...maybe he should just leave. Then again, he'd feel terrible if she died. She rather seemed to be the type that would do that. Just go off and get killed while she was doing something ridiculous.
"Well, I came by this hallway when I heard your scream. I had been walking along when I heard something strange, almost like somebody was singing about love or something. I followed the sound, then I heard you scream and I hurried here." He explained, leaving out his belief that she had been the one singing. "Sorry to have to tell you this, but I have no idea where we are. I woke up in a white room like all the rest of them have been within the hour and, after a near death accident with somebody who, strange as this may sound, manipulates metal, I came wandering by. So, I'm very sorry, but I can't really help you. If I could, I would." He ended apologetically, wondering if she would think he was making stuff up about the metal-manipulating man.

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Kira just gave a slight nod and lowered her head, unwilling to fully explain. She wasn't going to change if she could help it, though such a possibility was growing dimmer with every person they met. Sooner or later, they weren't going to respond to panicked shouting, and instead be drawn to her instead. Then she'd have to defend herself... But until then, she didn't want to think about it. Not too much, anyway.
She contented herself with glancing toward him, trying also to get a glimpse of how bad the injury really was. To her, who had little experience in the matter, it wasn't a pretty sight, and she cringed and covered her nose more tightly. He was really thin, and scarred up too... It really did look like he had nothing to miss from the outside.
Well, except alcohol, it sounded like.
"...no, sorry," she replied quietly, squirming a little before sinking down fully, sitting with her back to the wall across from Lake. "I just had my bag, but I don't know where it went..."
She hesitated, looking torn for a second as she chewed gently upon her lip with a pointed fang. Her free arm drew her legs back to her chest to hug them close. Finally, her eyes lifted, focusing back upon him. "Hey, if I... change, physically I mean.. don't stick around. Leave before I notice you, okay?" ♥ ☓ ♥

.Lake. Lake scoffed, glancing over at her. "What, like, you grow some whiskers or something? Don't sweat it, kiddo, I think I can handle that." He waved his hand at her. "Same goes for you...not that you listen. You should've beat it when I told you to. I could've killed you." Less likely, since he had forced the transformation himself, but it was still a possibility. He found he was having to change a lot more frequently in this unknown place, too.
"...What about cigarettes? You got any of those?" he asked wearily, wrapping his arms around his torso. "I'll uh...I'll give you a quarter for them. I have a quarter." He didn't sound very hopeful.

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓"...I'm serious," Kira grumbled, staring at him from over her knees. But, she didn't see him attacking her either. It must be even harder for him to picture, considering she hadn't done a single threatening thing so far. Hopefully if it happened, he'd finally realize she wasn't kidding around. And.. she hoped she wouldn't have to experience the same from him.
"No, sorry again..."
She settled her chin upon her knees, her fingers still pinching her nose and covering her mouth. This blood was fresh and more easily affecting her, but she still didn't want to leave. There were crazies running around, stabbing and crushing people.
"Should we, uh... Do you want me to go look for bandages or something?" ♥ ☓ ♥

.Lake. Lake shook his head slowly, his eyes drifting shut. "I'll be fine. Won't even be able to notice it in a day or two. Look, if it freaks you out that much..." He groaned, leaning forward and pulling his trenchcoat closed across his chest, belting it in place. "Ghh...happy now? Nothing to see here." He pushed himself to his feet. "Dunno about you, but I don't feel up to meeting any more weirdos passing by in the corridors here. I'm gonna go find somewhere to take a nap." He slipped his hands into his pockets and glanced toward her. "...You comin' or what?"

ĸıɍą ☆ Ƥıēřċǝ_________________________☓☓☓Kira tilted forward as his eyes drifted closed, looking alarmed. Blood loss? ...no, it didn't seem so. She cringed as he groaned and quickly looked away. "A-ah, not it's.. okay..." She could still smell it just as clearly before he'd buckled a coat against his open wound.
She hesitated when he stood, looking nervous again. She rose slightly, watching anxiously and expecting him to topple over. She didn't expect him to beckon her along, however, and gave him a blank stare before clambering to her feet. "Yes!" she cried a little too hastily and hurried after him, got a little to close, and quickly stumbled back to the still-unsafe three foot distance. ♥ ☓ ♥
