So I haven't had a chance to read the new pages of this thread, but Avatar34 will be the new editor and Lyra Elizabeth will be serving as co-editor! I'm pretty sure the Monthly is now in stable hands. I'll be in touch with you guys (with important information) no later than tomorrow!

As for the Opinion Editorials I was talking about earlier, I think they're all taken care of! Thanks guys!

Hey guys keep in mind you don't have to use the same stuff (article ideas) over and over each month. For instance, just because Horoscopes was used last month, doesn't mean it has to be used this month. Perhaps get a rotating schedule together for the article ideas so that each Monthly issue is fresher than the one before. The only things that should really be in the issue every month are listed in the Guidelines post (which I believe include, Member of the Month, Birthdays, and "Around Hogwarts").

Since it's already more than half way through the Month, why don't we talk about changing things for June's Issue. Since we only have one week and four days (11 days) before the next deadline. That makes the deadline for the May issue, April 28th no later than Midnight EST, please.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I wasn't talking about changing things, I was just saying that since the issue can have 12 posts (to be entirely on the front page) that you don't have to do the same columns/articles every issue. However, you can still use 14 posts, but only 12 can go on the first page.

You were clear Icee, I was just saying that since we only have such a short period of time to do this Month's (May's) Issue, that we could talk about changing around the articles next month (June's Issue). Other then the 4 articles we talked about. Since we are so close on time, we can just do what we usually would. (Except for what we talked about, like I said.)

Unless someone wants to exclude 2 articles that we would usually do? Does anyone plan to not do their article this Month or just doesn't want to? If you tell me now, we can use your article for next Month. Also, this way I can tell Icee ahead of time that those articles won't be done in this issue. Which do you what to do everyone? As Icee said before we only have to have to do the "Member of the Month", "Birthdays", and "Around Hogwarts" articles, every month.

The deadline is still going to be April 28th, no later than Midnight EST. After this point in time we will still accept articles (until the 30th), we are just doing this so that Lyra and I have more time to put the Issue together and keep our sanity intact.

Ok I misunderstood!
That's fine... I'm merely posting suggestions (about the changing articles). Whatever works best for you guys is the best.
I have so much faith in this team now that you can completely ignore whatever I say lol.

Thanks, Icee (for the faith). We will never ignore you (I know you were just kidding) and we will always listen you to your suggestions.

I agree with Tina. For this month, I think we should stay with the articles we've been doing, and then maybe change a couple things next month.

The only thing I was thinking of for this month is if someone would like to write an article about the volcano. (I assume everyone knows what I'm talking about?) And then maybe we could turn it into a monthly article about a current event, or multiple current events (in the muggle world).

I actually have no idea what volcano your talking about sweatdrop , I haven't been watching the news lately due to my health, I've been trying to get as much rest as possible. When I'm not resting, I'm usually on here or at the Dr.s office. So, someone please tell me what's going on?

A volcano in Iceland, that has been dormant for a couple hundred years, erupted and spewed ash across a large part of Europe. The ash cloud is up where airplanes fly, so many flights to and from Europe were grounded for a few days. I think some airports have just started reopening.

You might belong in Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart...
Ooooh! I want to hear more about that volcano!!! biggrin

So, Tina, of those wonderful ideas, are any not claimed yet? I know I wouldn't be able to get it done for this month, but I could do one for June.

Oh, and Lyra, can I send my part in earlier this month? Crunch time for my show is starting next week so I'm trying to get everything done as soon as possible.

Lyra: Wow, I didn't know that. I'll look it up with your link thanks!

And the more I think about it, I really like your idea about the volcano and having a 'Muggle Story'.

Kaylin: The only possible one that may be taken is the Book Review(the chapter by chapter one). Is there one you would like to write?

You can send in you article whenever you want to either of us.

Hello. I am very interested in helping with the Howarts Monthly. I am very creative and am sure I could occasionally come up with my own things to contribute, but for now, if possible, I would love to have a specific assignment for the next edition. Also if possible, and if I'm chosen to do so, could the assignment be PMed to me? The HPGoG is so extensive, and me being new and all, I'm still finding my way around the guild. (There are links everywhere! lol.)

EDIT: Also, we could always google real articles of "paranormal' activity and use them, so long as we include our sources to give credit to those who actually did the real investigating and such.... example
