Well, I wasn't certain. Alright then. In midair she shifted, into a pidgeon. not the most beautiful of birds, but less noticeable than a hawk. She flew directly over the treetops, eyes open and watchful. She kept the hawk's sight, and could see everything going on below her. She would know if something was wrong. She sensed the turmoil in Kamiss' mind, but couldn't pick up on it. That was not a Shapeshifter's power. So she left it all behind and flew on.

Sokra ran along through the streets, and realized suddenly he had just passed the spot where he and Lyu had first 'met'. He turned on the heel of his foot, and looked at the area for a split second before turning. And as he did, he shuddered horribly as he remembered that was where he had been attacked by the demon. And though Sokra had thought so, in that moment he knew meeting Lyu was not chance. It had been fate. Sokra turned again, looking up at Lyu, and continued to his house.

Lyu perched on the rock wall a ways down the road, and waited for Sokra. She cocked her head thoughtfully, as she was in the habit of doing, and clacked her beak. If she could smile in this form, she would. He looked so different, from these eyes. Like a shadow himself. So she returned to her human self, and leaned against the wall again, like she had so recentlky, before they met. She felt the weight of coinage in her pocket, and her smile slipped away.
Why can't I remember the reason? I stole so much from so many...why?

Sokra stepped up to his house, opening the door for Lyu to swoop in, and removed his cloak, hanging it on the doorstand. "You should probably get some sleep." He said, moving into the kitchen to start cooking. (Once again, brain lock)

And swoop she did, landing on the stair rail, and rocking back and forth, like many birds do. Lyu slowly shifted into her human form, and followed Sokra to the kitchen, then decided to do as he had suggested, spun around, and headed back up stairs. She shifted into the form af a mist-grey cat with shining silver eyes, and fell asleep curled on a window ledge in the sunshine.

Sokra finished making dinner, sat down to eat, and left the rest out, waiting for Lyu to come down. He didn't mind if she stayed upstairs; he could think for hours about what happened.

Lyu was one of the rare people who could choose to be fully conscious while they slept. She chose dto do so this time, and thought about what she - they - had been through. Lost memories, a life as a theif, unknown pasts. What a time she lived in. Finally, she let go of consciousness, and fell fully asleep.

(K. Ummm...just going with the flow here...)
Her dreams seemed ot turn rancid. Once clear, full of light, they now locked her in a thorn-sharp embrace, and hauled her forcefully back into the dusky region of her memories. Like during her episode in front of Sokra, she writhed in pain, eyes wrenching but remaining closed. Screams echoed between her ears, fire raging behind her eyelids. As she fell under the spell of these darkling dreams, her skin took on the cold, grey tint of ash. When she finally struggled free of the psychological chains she was wrapped in, she sat up with a rush of cold breathe, and stared wide-eyed at her stoney hands.
