Malik nodded lightly.

"I know he knows about Zahara. So unless he thinks her nothing of importance, then he probably won't bother with us. but he had things rather planned out for that encounter. Revenge is his motive, genocide to redeem one fallen lover. Bloodbath maybe powerful, but if genocide is his goal, it doesn't seem too logical to come after little outposts or kingdoms when the real test is the Drow empire itself. Why risk damaging your ace in the hole on a minor outpost when there's a far more dangerous and battle tested imperial army to confront."

A lean back again, mussing his son's hair some and keeping him close, before letting Keely have him.

"It's a test run. he's testing the strength of bloodbath without magical power. the drow outpost has the smallest chance of injuring bloodbath and can stil show how his abilities hold when there's no magic. is it possible you or Serenity can arrange for Nel to meet me someplace? It might be better to simply ask the elf what his intentions are toward my kingdom than sit around and hope he just passes by."

"Kingdom, is it?" The Druid tilted his head. "I doubt we can approach him. Without the gods, only the earth knows where Nel is. I imagine he's somewhere that large creature can go unseen, which severly limits it to the Lake. Not too many people could be taken by surprise, a ninja's favourite tactic, if you watch your enemy thunder towards you like a hurricane."

"If you plan on saving the Drow villagers, you best do it now. If not, they are most likely going to be dead within an hour." The druid paused, his mind going through the calculation and the lapse between the report and the druid recieving it. "Wait, never mind. They are probably dead right now. I just remembered how fast that demon dinasour was. I pray that was magical haste." The druid was only a scout when he fought against the half demon; thus, the arrowhead and lack of knowledge about which part of the creature was magic enduced and which was its physical being.

Gaurds posted on the walls could see a large, bright light appear yonder direction.

"Would you like me to go and ask him to meet with you, I think I know where exactly he is at the moment."

"Feel free to do so. and let me know what's going on."

the guards saw the light, looked at eachother, and sent thier reports on it. for the moment, they were told to watch it, monitor it's movement, and try, and first opportunity, to see what it was. the rest of the outer guards were placed on high alert.

The druid bowed his head, and left the room. He returned somewhat faster than most would have suspected.

He approached Malik again, "He says 'I feel somewhat saticfied'. But, Blood Bath said something more intresting. The demon said 'I owe the Triumverate a Debt of Gratitude.' Apparently, you betrayed him which is something I know nothing about. Blood Bath wants this place destroyed. Nel doesn't seem interested in helping him do it."

"I think a few escaped the iniatal attack. The beast can spew flames; the air was thick with methan and sulphyr. Drow weapons were as lucky as my arrows, and I think... he's bigger now."

"If you'll excuse me, changing form is not as easy as it used to be." He bowed, and backed out of the room.

Malik sat there for a moment.

"Pull people down out of the battlements. get those that can ride, mounted. lizards preferably. get Ramoth ready for battle."

Betrayed by the Triumverate. but which member. him? piper? or dimitri.

"Get them equiped with breaker meathooks. if it has scales, they can be pried off or used to mount him. Bring me Ebony as well. Sevilin, prepare yourself for conflict. Keely, take the kids down to the Arena. the lower they are the better the stonework can protect them from flame."

A slight smirk, sheathing Ebony at his back and Malvolence at his side. Bloodbath. how apt a name. lets see then if he might have better luck then the others.

And Zahara was ignored. If Vesendar was decimated someone was damn well going to pay. She had friends there, contacts and clients. Half of their business came from that small, drow outpost. Her hands clenched angrily. She knew she should have just slit his throat when she had him down. Not demanded answers or reasons why he was after her. Then Vesendar wouldn't be threatened and this battle wouldn't take place. Warnings were unneccessary, it was too late for that. She ran a hand through her hair and felt the need to just kick something. A shake of her head and she kicked the stone wall behind her. Why was Malik being so calm about this? She'd heard quite enough. Moving quickly before he could leave she grabbed the messenger by the throat and punched him in the face. "NO! How dare you deliver such news? Dead within the hour? Why? Why now? Why didn't you do anything?!" Flashes of her time spent in the village, of drow finally moving on and getting better lives came to her. "Why didn't you put yourself to better use and die?!" Shaking him and punching him again. "If you can talk to this a*****e tell him he's not the only one who wants revenge and it will be taken!" She released the druid angrily and used her boot to shove him out of the room. "Gods be damned..." her hands were visibly shaking and they were far too many emotions roiling through her to even pinpoint one right now.

Fin and Leaf climbed atop the horse, both careful not to hurt or jar him in any way. They had become concious of such things, after the lat dragon to transport them dropped Leaf because she pulled at a scale. There was still a nasty bruise on her hip from the fall.

"A hundred and fifty miles north-east, we should come to a ruined city of sorts. Mostly stone. That is the only solid information we have on this location, anything else is hersey, rumor."

And latch to his father's legs, regardless of armor or anything else and he wasn't going to let go anytime soon now was he? Nope, not at all. He was holding on tight and he wasn't going to let im go. Daddy promised he wouldn't go anywhere and if he did he would take him with them. Nope, not going anywhere. And boy did Keely get a dirty look when she made a motion to get him off. "No!" Just holding tight still.

Sevilin raised an eyebrow at Malik, that was interesting. Going off already to battle when things at home weren't even done, no doubt to face something that would just be hell to deal with. Getting himself up he went off for a moment and fetched his polearm as well as those blue and red vials of magic, coming back to Malik. "If you don't mind a bit of facial orifice bleeding, since you know what I know about runes...I have an idea for them that can be quite effective if we need it." Crossing his arms over his chest. Though okay it was funny when Zahara lost it, he would admit that. Not good for young children to see, but it was still funny.

Serino has already started off in the appointed direction with his three passengers...after all it was no big deal for him to bear weight at all....quite easy and such. "Right...looking for a pile of structural rocks among other structual rocks. Sound fun. Put on the speed Serino, let' close this hundred plus mile gap."

Leaf nodded. "The underdark is vauge."

It obviously did not take them long to get to where they were going. The structural pile of rubble was just that. The crumbling buildings appeared to be made of limestone, and the air was difficult to breathe with the dust floaring around.

Leaf got off the horse, who's name hse had now observed to be Serino. Fin followed suit, taking out one of his assormtent of weapons and looking around. Leaf as well.

"From here we are on our own. The Oracle was not privy to information about what lay here."
PostPosted: Thu Feb 15, 2007 12:43 pm

She kept herself on Serino as they got off and snuffed lightly at dust. Oh nice. "So then...you're saying we're here but we don't know what we're doing here?" Hell, she barely knew what she was doing at all in this little play of the cosmos. A look to the two purian elves. "Any idea at all because the thought of aimlessly wandering isn't appealing."

It turns out that the explosion visible to the Fortress was just an oxygen pocket being relesed too close to a fire started by a lightning strike, somewhere on the lack near Vesendor.

It was a relief to the Druid who returned to scouting out the area that Vesendar was in perfect condition, except for the few warriors killed accidently by the brute.

Blood Bath was merely teasing the drow living in the village, not eating or killing any of them. He spat small flames at them, merely mocking their inability to get passed his armour. Without powerful magical potions of disintigration, it was apparent that unless help arrived soon, the Vesendars would be destroyed rather thoroughly.

Nel was no where to be seen.

King Niilrik was less than pleased at the explosion. He paced his study angrily waiting for the results to come in. They had worked hard to build their little kingdom and a lot of weeding out and slaughtering of those more prone to Lloth's thoughts had occurred. His Queen, Dharielle still held the most power only because of the minds and deference hammered into their heads for so long. Luckily those who had elevated them to their current seat of power understood the tentative team they made so well. He glanced up as his Queen reentered the study. "Reports are in. There's fifteen dead in all but we're not out of danger yet. Without magic we don't have the resources to fight anything. We need help."

Niilrik nodded. "I'm aware." He sighed and glanced out into the Underdark. "I was hoping it wouldn't come to this. Unfortunately it has." Turning to an associate. "Get a team together. We'll leave shortly."

Malik looked down at his son, and picked him up and looked at Sevilin.

"Bleeding does not bother me."

then a look at his son.

"There's a dragon on the loose. much bigger and meaner than Rawr. and we're going to have to face him. He's mad at daddy for something I don't know about."
PostPosted: Thu Feb 15, 2007 2:51 pm

Zahara glanced at Sevilin for a moment then grabbed Zykariel and picked him up to help her calm down. Walking over she grabbed Sevilin and pulled him over to her. "You can help them can't you, Sevilin? You can kill this thing and make damn sure Vesendar is avenged. You have to do this, I don't care what it takes. I had business there. Piper had business there. They are us, dammit."

Zykariel wasn't a very happy child and he buried his face in his mother's shoulder. When she began to yell again though he turned and reached for his father, whimpering. Mommy was upset and that meant more yelling was to come.

Dharielle gazed over the company of about fifteen drow, most of whom were some of their best mages when magic was still around. It was a diverse group, men and women of different ages and expertise. "We need to be sure that we can get the help we need. You are not here to attack but to protect us as we go. If it were safe to cross the Underdark, we would do so alone. Nadai, lead the way." She slapped her staff against the floor and tossed her long hair back over her back. Red eyes studied her fellow ruler for a moment and she nodded. Niilrik sheathed his sword and crossed his arms. "Let's go."

There he is the druid though, though in his beastial form he could barely tell one elf from another. The devil ninja used special cloth woven y the most experienced professionals to blend in with the surroundings when challanged by the dark vision of elves (drow, surface, Andalean, etc), but could not hide his scent from a Vah, wolf, bear, or cave tiger.

The druid leaped upon the unsuspecting elf, who's battle instincts probably rivialed Kimmuriel's.

The ninja had his sword impaled into the tiger without much thought or effert, but was brought to the ground by the beast's wieght.

Nel had been waiting for someone from Vesendar to send for aid, so he could ambush and kill that person. But now, he would have to fight with this cave tiger, indigeonous to the Northern lakes...

"Foolsih Druid. Do you not know who you aid?" The elf whispered, which in these circumstances was as loud as simple talking.

The cave tiger learched away from the blade, and polymorphed back into his half elfish form. "Silly Elf. Making everyone life hell because your wife sucked at fighting."

Nel could not argue against that logic. If she was stronger, she would not have died against that raiding party. "Still, killing them makes me feel." A volley of shurikens lurched at the druid, glancing him in several spots.

Aschellaeon fell over, the first stab seemed to still be affecting him even though he changed form (which normally would have healed all his injuries). He coughed out some blood. At least he didn't feel the poison.

"Cave Viper poison has no effect on your body." The elf flipped back and tossed another volley of shurikens.

Aschellaeon fell flat, and let them hit the back of his armour. The hide prevented the blades from sinking deeply into his flesh. "We paid you too much."

Oh, that was an insult. The elf almost stabbed his sword into the druid's neck, but saw the trap for what it was before he shifted the wieght in his legs. He verred away from direct attack, and made an indirect one in its place. He tossed a shuriken into the tree above him, which hit a rope and allowed a log to fall onto the half elf.

The druid rolled away from the log, haphazardly. He rose up, "Without your magic, you are nothing elf."

"Ditto, twit." Nel replied.

The ninja drew out his main gauche, and balanced his duel weapons.

Aschellaeon rose up to his feet, and smiled evily.

Moments later, Nel was fleeing for his life back to his displacer beasts and ship.
