He merely clung to his father easily as ever, not really paying attention at the moment. The important thing was that he was being held and it was daddy doing the holding.

Wow, Keely walked into a bad situation there now didn't she? Malik and Zahara in the same room and they both didn't look too happy with each other at all. "Umm...would you like me to take the children again?"

Malik smirked at her and held his son.

"fine."

Handing his son down to Keely.

"I'll be done here in a little bit, and then I'll come get you again, alright?"

before turning his eyes to Zahara and none to pleased.

"Ready when you are."

She took a substantially longer time with her own son, well aware of how clingy he was being and gently untangling his hands from her top where they'd latched on. He was going to have issues from this wasn't he? Malikhai probably would too. Pressing a kiss to his cheek and whispering something in his ear.

"And beyond Mommy," he said giggling before taking Keely's hand after he was set down.

Zahara waited for the kids to be completely gone and then she let one eyebrow quirk. "First of all I see no reason why you feel the need to lecture me but okay. The only think that I have to say is that you cannot ignore your son. He's going through a very rough time and I know you're hurting too Malik but that doesn't give you leave to be an a**. You have gone into Lord of the Manor mode and Malikhai suffers. That's not fair to him. You have a three year old son who knows that a very important person in his world has suddenly left and he wants to cling to the one left in his world. Stop playing the protector and play his damn father. That's the role he needs and I have a feeling if you put your mind to it, you might just be able to do a bang up job at it."

"Come on you two...we have to find somplace to stash your toys...and you can help catch these little...lizard...things...that are running all over the place." Duely ushering the boys out of the room and back to the main room before the fireplace where she had set down their things. She could be comfy and sit, they could play.

"You think I don't know that? but right now I need to make sure this place is as impenetrable as I can make it. I am thinking about my son. and his safety. so don't tel me about what I need to do with my son especially after you have just recently even come to terms that you want to be your son's mother."

Malik's eyes were cold and hard at that point.

"You think that I don't know? you think that I don't care that he's desperate to cling to the one parent he has here? Think that I am that wrapped up in myself? I know these things. and he can cling and do as he needs to do as soon as I am absolutely sure that he is going to be safe. When sevilin finishes inventory, and we decide what can be used and what can't, then all of my attention will go to my son."

"I am responsible for the lives of everyone in this building and on my lands that is loyal to me. all of them. My son is very important to me and that is why I am taking my time to make sure this place is damn near impregnable as I can make it."

"He's three Malik! He doesn't comprehend sieges and orcish attacks!" She glared at him and hit her feet. "Coming to terms with it means nothing and don't you dare bring that up to me now!" She blew out a breath and shook her head. "You shoved him into armor. You set him down when Piper left and let him fall when he tried to go after her. You call that a good father? After all, you can take him with you while you do such things, can't you? Yes. But instead you choose to give him abandonment issues from both parents. Good going." Her hands plopped on her waist. 'Not to mention you have people who can do that for you! Sevilin can make damn sure nothing's going to happen. You built your little kingdom down here Malik and you've kept it well staffed. Let the nice people do their job and you do yours. the most important one of all. Be a father, comfort your son and deal with the issues of the Underdark later. Got it?"

Zykariel just followed and then sat there holding Rawr on his lap. "They're gonna fight all day aren't they?"

"You as well."

When the had left, Meilikki slumped back against the chair, breathing labored breathes. Deidrick wined. She petted him.

"It is difficult, not allowing your commrads to see you in pain."

"It is not exactly the kind of motivation the moon elf needs."

"Better to come back to you dead, then leave you dead."

"I imagine so, yes."

Leaf and Fin followed Piper, excited to be going though they would never have shown it. Leaf pulled out a map. "We need to head north-east for a good 150 miles." Said very buisness like. "can your horse carry all three of us?"

She was sitting on the floor with both children, the three of them having to taken to playing with blocks now out of Keely wanting to distract them a bit from everything going on. "Grown ups fight a lot when they are very worried and such. Everyone wants what is best and no one wants to follow on particular way."

He gave a snort as he came to stand next to the group of children. "They're fighting?" Then again that didn't surprise him, everytime stres blew around, those two seemed to have a fight...better they get it out of thier systems now. Thus he plopped down in a chair, resolving to wait till they were done and merely watch the children in thier distractive play.

A look to the two and she nodded. "He can...hop on up. Just don't be alarmed by the lack of movement...comes with the breed." Thus she waited for them to mount up as well, giving pets to Serino who didn't like the idea too much but if it meant getting back home that much sooner then she was good with it and he would have to deal. "North-east...let's go Serino, that's a lot of hoofing to do for you."

Kon hit the ground with a thud, she bounced back up, her head whipping around to Raorke. How dare he! How dare he denie his death! This nagrered her. Her jaws dripped with seliva. She kicked at a few of the villagers surrounding her. They were mere bugs, compared to this dove before her.

She began to circle, padding her way carfully around Roarke.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 14, 2007 6:32 pm

Malik slammed his hand down on the table.

"He's my son! Not yours! there's no abandonment issues here at all. he knows this side of me, and he knows that once work is settled, that I'm all his. he may6 not understand what a seige is, or what an orcish horde is, but he damn well does understand what I tell him! he knows that I am just as upset about Piper as he is. he can feel it. and he knows that I am taking care of everyone here. Piper often calls it me 'buisness mode' and he knows the term adn the actions that go with it!"

His eyes narrowed on her.

"They are doing thier jobs! thier working hard and as fast as I am. this isn't some little house were one or two people can run it. and you want to talk about abandonment issues, why don't we start with you!? you pushed the boy away from three years, now you are trying to be his mother. if anyone is going to have issues, it's your son due to your blindness and fear that you'll push him away again!"

he was really angry, and it showed while he tried to regain some composure before he felt the need to beat her. how dare she.

"The work that needs done is almost done. it won't take longer than twenty to fourty five more minutes. after that, those skilled in siphoning will be given thier tasks, and my son will get all the attention so seem to think he's lacking. So I don't want to hear another word out of your mouth about my parenting skill. Not one. Or so help me I will lock you in a windowless breaker room until this fiasco is over so I don't kill you where you stand."

And he stormed out of that room, and picked up his son in one fell swoop before turning his attention to Sevilin.

"Vault's done, I assume. thoughts on what can and can't be used for siphoning?"

Malik was interesting wasn't he? Sevilin was in fact listening to the clearly audible fight going on in the other room, while he watched as Keely kept babbling about something or other to keep the boys distracted from it. He had to admit the girl was quite good at what she was doing, rather easily redirecting thier attention.

As were the usual battles between Malik and Zahara, these screaming matches that often lead to hypocricy claims on one or the other's side, there was no winner, someone merely claimed the final word or what they assumed was the final word and then walked away. But he let Malik casually have his attention as if no one had heard them arguing just a few rooms away. "Done, but you're missing something." Handing a piece of paper out to Malik. "Thank my need for categories and organization...that's your list of what I think is most despensible and what should be saved." Had to love those magic sensing abilities. "Though I dare say, would be grand to have that Analian style misery chain you're supposed to have right about now. Thing's right useful in these types of situations. Even if it's magic was spent."

Oh, picked up again and taken from play. He didn't mind so much, after all when daddy was holding him then well he knew for sure that daddy hadn't gone anywhere and that he was okay. And when he was around he was going to keep everything safe and there would be no worries. After all he promised. But he still more or less kept quiet as he was held for right now, you didn't interrupt daddy when he was in business mode.

Malik still didn't get it and probably never would. But she was done fighting with him on it. She'd said her piece and she knew that now he'd be more attentive to his son if only to prove her wrong. As long as Malikhai benefitted that was all that mattered. She watched him storm off and leaned her head back against the chair, closing her eyes. There were errands to run, herbs to find and lists to consult. But just now she didn't feel like doing anything. It really sucked to have someone throw a mistake that had been three years running in your face again and again. "Come here Zykariel."

Zykariel had glanced up at his father as he'd entered the room and grinned at him then gone back to playing now that he knew where both parents were. He looked between the adults, Mr. Malik coming back in and then slowly walked into the dining room.

Zahara picked up her son and cuddled him for a moment then calmly walked into the main sitting area, her face calm but her voice soft. "I may be new at this mothering thing but I've been around these boys for three years. I'm not professing to know your son better than you Malik, but I do know the signs of a child feeling left out and abandonded and your son displayed them. Forgive me for looking out for his best interest." Thus she set her son back down, ruffled his hair and then turned away. She had things to do.

Malik barely heard her. right now he was staring at that list. she didn't. I mean come on, that thing must be the most terrifying personal demon tool in the whole place for her. What the hell was she thinking?

"Zahara...get me broog would you. Sevilin, I've revised your list, take this to the enchanters. and while your there, bring me damascus. he's a human warrior trained in chain weapons."

Before he sat down with his son settled on his lap, drumming his fingers on the arm of it. why in the hell would Piper take that thing.

Okay, so Zahara wanted the last word. Then again she always did, bravo to Malik for just letting it go...or at least it seemed he was, who knew what was going on in that man's head right now. Though a raise of an eyebrow as he watched het set Zykariel down and walked away...that was bandaging on her shoulder there wasn't it? Either he missed something, or she had done something very stupid that she no doubt needed a new lecture on.

But he turned his attention back to Malik, taking the list back from him. Ah paperwork, the oil to the business machine. It was like organization. "Will do." Thus up for him, patting his son on the head as he went by...he knew it was important that the child know they were there for him even if he was running around right now. First days of chaos preperation were always hard on younger ones. But downstairs with him, and the grabbing the human Malik wanted, heading back upstairs. It was so nice to be efficent.

He watched his father a moment, daddy had that thought processing look on his face. Hm, was it okay to say something? Daddy had no paper in his hands and no one else was with him, no one was asking questions. He supposed that he was allowed to say at least one thing. Thus he merely curled himself up best as he could with armor on in his father's lap. "How come mommy didn't say good bye?" Of course to him, good byes weren't looked at in the context that elder elves viewed it.

Of course he'd order her to go do something. She would dearly love to slap him and now that he had no more magic, she wouldn't have to worry about his damn Harm Touch or anything else he always used against her. Hmm, she'd keep that in mind for the future. Meanwhile she headed downstairs and delivered the message to Broog, passing Sevilin briefly but continuing on her way the same as he was on his. "Your message was delivered, Broog should be up here shortly." It was hard to resist the urge to just knock him for a loop which would be all too easy to do but she refrained and chose to sit down and keep her son company while she went over lists.
