Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope that everyone had a good night last night!!!! So I have made a new, 2009 resolution!!!! I want to re-read all of the HP series before I graduate in May! (I kinda cheated because I am done with 1 and 2 already, just finished number 2 today)
I was wondering if everyone still gets the same thrill I get when I read the books. I mean, I know all that happens and how the books ends, but I still can't help but get all worked up and get involved in the book. I was just wondering if everyone still gets that feeling even after reading the books multiply times.

I know I do...I have a bit of a bad memory so usually when I re-read books I couldn't remember the details anyways so it's like reading it all over again! ^-^
That goes especially for anything written by Amelia Atwater Rhodes - My personal favorite author. The book Cry to Heaven. Also a book called The Book of Shadows.
I have read the above books many many times and I still get the same thrill and emotions every time. I also find new details that I missed each time I read them anew.

Well as I got pointed out this morning I'll only be around for 10 more days and I've still got a lot to do.I'm starting to feel really sick from nerves though and I'm making mistakes after mistakes. I'm trying to get my Little Hogwarts guild strong so I can leave it for the 3 months in my crews hands but I already deleated ur History of Magic room. I had put all the important information onto my computer, deleated the classroom, and posted the very first important post when my computer froze and I lost all the work. So that just makes things worse. Plus having to fight for energy since I'm so sick from being nervous.

Same here. Whenever I reread books {like gggs, I tend to have a bad memory razz } it's like I'm sort of reading them for the first time. I obviously know mostly what happens but a lot of the smaller details always tend to slip my mind.
Lily, I hope you start to calm down and we're really going to miss not having you around. sad I can understand why you're so nervous but I hope when the time comes that you enjoy yourself. biggrin

Hahaha thanks guys. I get so nervous waiting for a new school term to start so this has been total torture. I have one of my friends counting down the days for me so I wake up to a text each morning telling me how many days I have left. I told her this morning that it seems like she can't wait to get rid of me. She laughed and said she was just jealous because she doesn't leave for a month. Oh well I guess my biggest fears are that I'll fall on my face and that everyone will hate me.

Once again I wish you all the luck in the world Lily. That would be very nerve-racking to have someone reminding me how many days left, especially being really nervous about it already!!!

So my homeschooling teacher came again last night and tells me starting in February I will begin getting a teacher coming for Math, Science and possibly grade 11 Geography.. Well, the one choice for a teacher is a woman teacher but I may not get her because she's only temporary and may have to move to another school the next semester. And my other choice is my old Geography teacher from grade 9 who is a guy! It's already awkward enough having a teacher come into my house let alone a teacher I know and he happens to be a like 25 year old guy! O.O He was a great teacher and always understood when I wasn't feeling good and stuff like that so that's going to make it even more awkward. GAAAAH! I'm also starting in February an online civics course. Yippy. But after all this my guidance counselor {councelor? which one haha?} might just make me take my GED. Like, this was the whole point of doing homeschooling so I wouldn't have to take my GED and I could graduate with a regular highschool deploma because this may screw me over when I want to go to college. And plus, she told my mother last year that homeschooling is much different and that I wouldn't have to get all the same credits to get a high school diploma than I would regularly. She's an idiot!
Sorry for my huge story/rant there haha. Had to get it out.
Lily, we're sure going to miss you around when you finally leave. It would really up my nervous level if I had someone reminding me everyday how many more days were left. I'd actually just ignore the text haha.
Hope the rest of you are doing good! biggrin
I think I won in my duel against a Slytherin {he's at 1HP!} and I was wondering how many points do you get for winning a duel?
Toodaloo! razz

Trust me it's very nerve racking. I'm going insane. Plus I have my father telling me he hopes I flunk out. I'd like to come home an honor grad just to show him I can do it because he's son inconfident. He was a Navy Coreman in Vietnamn so he's been against this from the start. He was against it when I was going to train to be an Officer in the national Gaurd and then I turned around enlisting as a Marine and he was not happy. Good luck with the whole teacher thing Grey. I regret leaving highschool early. This is supposed to be my senior year but I went to the college on my dads orders and I regret it. If for some reason I can't ship on Monday I'm going to have them put my ship date to June and I'll enlist at my high school for 2nd semester and take a bunch of easy classes since I already have all my credits plus more. Besides I can't get into a math or science class half way through the year at a high school. That would be too hard. unless I talked my Geometry teacher into taking me in his Math 1050 class. I could breaze by that one because he's a good teacher. Even though he did give me a major headache making me skip Algebra 2 and forcing me into the PreCalculus honors class.

Toodaloo! razz You know Grey I am going to get on that today. You only get tallied on the score board in the Registry I think it was. I have been such a flake and busy, and when I am not being one I am being the other. If you want Grey since Madam Hare is not on so much anymore and I am having trouble with getting in touch with the co-captains, would you like to be Hufflepuffs co-captain? It's not hard. If you see a spell worthy of spell of the week pm me or send it to HHL, and if someone wins a duel Pm me and I'll modify the scores. Anyway, I hope the thing with your teachers goes well. I can understand how home schooling would be hard, but you seem to be a very intelligent person. I am sure you'll do fine with just about any teacher. 3nodding Lily, if you father is like that and he sounds like mine, flip him off. People like him ruin the family unit. If you want it go back to High School for that last little bit. It's your life, and no one and I mean NO ONE should tell you how to live your life. Their is a difference between advice and just being mean about dedicating to others and your dad sounds like he is doing the second. A family is not a military unit, discipline for children, setting rules, boundaries and limitations fine, but order them around like a officer would to his troops is stupid. Good luck Lily, you know your always welcomed here, if you need a pick me up, or to vent.

Lily, your dad should be happy for you because you are doing something that you want to do. He should be happy that you are going for something and you are working really hard to achieve it. Like Katie said, you are always welcome to come around here and rant/vent for we will not judge you.
So, did you know, there is Harry Potter things in the movie "Yes, Man". Carl (the main character) goes to his bosses house for a party and its a Harry Potter Costume Party. Its pretty funny because the people actually did a good job dressing up, there was even a Dobby there!!
