Zahara stood there, hands on her hips and shook her head at the table. Then just because, she reached out and switched his silverware to the opposite side of his plate and moved his glass slightly as well. Studying it for a moment, she wondered if the silverware was a bit much. Deciding it was, she moved it back but tilted the end of the fork just so, so that it was catty corner against the napkin. Just slightly out of order. She laughed softly for no reason whatsoever and then went back to dessert, actually humming.
"Don' wanna..." The child squealed and managed to take his pillow with him though when he finally woke up he giggled happily. "Daddy!" He grasped his father's pants the way he always did and then got excited. "Mommy sent you to get me didn't she? She's keeping her promise about dessert isn't she? Isn't she?!"

He chuckled and took the child's pillow, tossing it back on the bed, but started out of the room, still carrying the child by his ankle. It was fun that he was so little as to be able to do it. "Yes, yes she did. And yes she's keeping her promise about dessert...in fact she's making it now." Downstairs with them, carrying the child into the kitchen still by his ankle.

"Yes I did."
mussing his hair slightly.
"Unfortunatly, as much I have tried to talk her out of it, she plans to do what she promised. So yes, she'll be going out for awhile. But I'll be staying here, to take care of the house and of you, so it won't be that bad, now will it?"

He didn't look satisfied. "Mommy isn't supposed to leave." No, mommy was supposed to be there to run to whenever he had one of his many little boy problems like falling down and hurting himself and someone had to be constantly proud of him and he had to be able to weedle something out of someone all the time. Mommy was a bit easier to con than daddy way. He got fidgety as he thought about it, perhaps it was the well established bond to his mother that made it so scary to think she'd be far away. Hm...he would be clinging to daddy a little more tighter than usual in the comming time.
He frowned and shook his head. Of course it wouldn't be bad with just daddy around...but it would be different. Different didn't suit his comfortable little world right now. "Can't you just tell her no like you always do?" Hey he had witnessed a fight or two his parents had had...daddy won a lot. But then he held out his arms in the need a hug gesture. "What if you have to go somewhere too?"

He picked his son up and held him.
"I'm not going anywhere. Innoruuk himself come come to my front door and I wouldn't budge. and I tried a hundred times to tell mom no. but she's doing what is right, I suppose. when a D'vinn makes a promise, we keep it. I always keep my promises to you, don't I?"

Cling to daddy was priority number one right now, thusly was done so. Hm, he didn't like all of these thoughts but they were a tad out of his control. He ruled from the doorknobs down and this all seemed a tad taller than doorknob level.
A nod of his head, nope daddy never broke his promises. As Malik said, a D'vinn always kept thier promises no matter how they may not like it later. Though his father's words did work to make him feel better...he slightly knew who Innoruuk was...the word god came to mind...he should study more on those. But back to the time at hand, "Okay...but you gotta really not go nowhere...I don't want to be left alone with just the help." The help...he picked that phrase up from his mother obviously. Then he got the 'idea' look. "Or you gotta take me with you if you really really really have to go."

He gave a nod and a hug to his father. "Okay then." Maybe it wouldn't be so bad...there would be no girls in the house, just the boys. Help excluded of course. And then another hug from the affectionate little toddler. "Thank you for letting me see your study daddy." That was one more mystery off of his list of things that he was told no on. "When is she leaving?"

Zykariel giggled and kept a hold on his father's pants so that he would remain close to his side. Daddy' hadn't even gone this far carrying him like this before. It was rather exciting. "I picked it out myself," he said proudly.
Zahara heard the child's excited chatter and turned around with the bowl in her hands, smile on he face. The smile faded and her eyes widend as she very nearly sent the bowl crashing to the stones but caught it just in time. All she could see was Zykariel squirming and Sevilin losing what appeared to be an entirely too lax grip on his ankle. She would have smiled if she weren't in the throes of a massive heart attack. "By the gods...put him down Sevilin before you drop him!"

"So I heard." And he would expect nothing less from the child...he did love chocolate in horrible amounts. Was amazing he didn't bounce off of walls sometimes. Though he blinked at Zahara as she almost dropped the bowl upon turning around to look at them. What was wrong? Oh...that was wrong.
Reaching his other hand over he gripped the back of the boy's shirt and then let go of his ankle, effectively flipping him around in his hold before gently setting the boy on his feet. "Go wash your hands." Returning his look to Zahara. "Calm down now, I wasn't going to drop him on his cute little head."

But the moment Zykariel was set on his feet he ran to his mother and hugged her tightly. "S'okay Mommy. Daddy does it 'cause I like it. Sometimes he even swings me around and makes me giggle. But he's never ever dropped me." Then, not realizing he damned his father even more he toddled off to do as he was bidden.
Zahara set the bowl on the counter and twined her fingers in her son's hair for a moment before he scampered off and she shook her head. "I thought that habit was reserved for your tardy students." Now that she'd calmed, she remembered well being yanked by her own ankle and he'd never once, even the time he'd literally dragged her down the stone steps, hurt her. A shake of her head for a moment and she let the fear and anger leave her system. "I just wasn't prepared for it. You do that everytime you get him up or just special occassions?"

Sevilin shrugged. "So it has a different effect on children that are small enough to be carried around by thier ankles. I'm sure he'll learn to hate it when he gets older and I'll use it to rouse him as I once did you as well." Giving a slight chuckle to that. "He likes it, so that's what I do when the mood strikes me and I know I won't drop him." Walking over to the table, stopping and examining the place setting...and straightening what looked out of place before looking over to her again. "One of things you missed knowing when you were trying to distance yourself from him."

She nodded and turned back to the bowel she was currently combining ingredients in though she continued to watch him out of the corner of her eye. Suppressing a knowing smile when she saw him straighten what she'd put out of order she dumped more sugar into the bowl and then moved to the stove, to stir the gentle mixture she had going. Her hand clenched momentarily and she winced, stung as his barb hit home. she knew she deserved it though and she straightened her spine and merely nodded, forcing herself to get some humor out of the situation. "Well if anything, it was a perfectly placed cold shower."
Zykariel came back into the kitchen and dragged over a stool then stood up on it waiting to be told what to do. "Why would you take a cold shower, Mommy?"
"I was dirty." She left it at that and plopped a bag of chocolate chips into his hand then gestured to the bowl before setting out carefully measured cups of milk, sugar and more chocolate.

Sevilin gave a snort as he walked over. "Cold shower effects only last but so long." And just to prove his point...because he was in an odd mood today anyway...he stood behind her and smoothed a hand over the small of her back before lightly trailing his fingers up her spine under the guise of standing there to watch what they were doing with their dessert. Good lord, the chocolate factor in that bowl.

She could have cheerfully killed him. A shiver went through her body but she steeled herself against anymore refusing to let him see his affect on her. Turn about was fair play and it would have been so lovely to be able to reach back and give him a taste of his own medicine but Sevilin Inthara had the annoying ability of being able to turn his desire on and off at whim. She could possibly drop something and make a mess down by her feet which he'd feel compelled to clean up but knowing the single mindedness he wouldn't even glance up her skirt. Instead he'd scrub the spot and then remember his earlier idea and clean the whole damn thing. Irritating man. Instead she used the only weapon she had left in her arsenal. Flipping one of the steaks, she let it sizzle for a moment and then cut off a small piece with a fork and turned repeating her gestures from earlier. "Taste. I need to know if it's seasoned correctly."
Zykariel was blissfully unaware of the current battle going on between his parents and he merely was dumping the contents of those cups into the bowl and mixing it as best he could with the wooden spoon.
