Because everyone needs a cup, that's why. Chit. But he let the boy reorganized things then pull out more...there was a lot of things stuffed in there. Ring was swiped and then he nosed things around, trading the teacup for the vile which wasn't broken, took two pieces of steel and left one for Zykariel. Sitting up on his back legs, he chittered at the boy again. Good?
"Trying not to disturb you..." Cringing lightly. She really packed some pain when she wanted to didn't she? Well that was the price he paid for thinking how he had. But he looked up to her, letting her look as she may as well. After all, he was used to these kinds of things. "It's okay, I thought to well of the situation."

Zykariel nodded and reached in once more, feeling around inside to make sure they'd gotten everything. All he pulled out were crumbs which he swept to the trash pile and then he pushed everything back in for Nym to rearrange as he liked. Pocketing that piece of steel and picking up the pile of discarded items, he threw old food and broken things away and then scratched Nym behind the ears. "Now you gotta help me prove to Daddy that I can have another pet. Dont' let your hole get too messy okay?" Scooping up the socks he dropped them in the basket they used for laundry and went looking for Daddy to tell him it was all done.
She glanced at the ring in his hand and then down at her stomach and finally realized what he had been doing. "Oh dear..." She shook her head and probed lightly at the magical damage she'd done then nibbled on her bottom lip. "i'm sorry Sevilin, I didn't mean to hurt you, you just startled me and I was in a bad reverie and I mistook you." She stood and grabbed her robe from teh closet, slipping it on over her naked form and then noticed all her things had been moved into the room. Shifting through her medical and potions things she picked up that same salve she'd used earlier and coated his cheek with it. One step forward, two steps back. "Why didn't you just wait until I was up?" she asked takign the ring from him and gently threading it through the hole in his ear where it belonged.

He watched the child one more before purring lightly at the scratching then climbing up the boy's clothing to sit on top of his head and to have the boy cart him around as thus. Sure, I can try to keep it clean...there's just so much neat stuff to collect.
He was much like a child when it came to someone smearing go all over his cheek that wasn't exactly the rub it in kind, more of the leave it on for a little then wipe it off kind...it unsettled him and made him feel icky. Ugh, nasty. "It's happened before, you think that I would learn that by now don't you?" Shaking his head lightly but holding still when she put his earring back in. "Because I have ideas that are less than steller? Who knew when you were going to be up again...though I guess that doesn't exactly matter now."

She could feel him withdrawing from her and she sighed. "It wasn't a bad idea, the timing was just a little...bad. Arthur grabbed me earlier and got me all upset and that sparked a rather bad reverie and I mistook your actions for that of another. It wouldn't normally happen that way." She stopped for a moment and then shook her head. Two steps forward, one step back. "It was a nice gesture." She sat down on the floor and rested her back against the bed sighing.
Zykariel let the ferret stay where he wished and checked in the upstairs room for his father. He found him in Mommy's room though the scene before him didn't look too good. Handprint on Daddy's cheek. Mommy looked guilty and Daddy looked unhappy. Didn't take long to put it together either and he was reminded of what Malik said. "If you're goign to be Llothian you can't be my Mommy."

He gave a snicker. "I need to time my nice gestures better don't I?" He was trying to be positive about this right now. He thought he was doing a rather nice job. But he shook his head. "Don't worry about it, sometimes I forget that boundries are supposed to be there." After all, sometimes they were so very very close it seemed like there never were any.
But his attention turned to the child that was coming into the room with a ferret on his head. He gestured the boy over to himself...no need to make Zahara feel worse. "No one is being Llothian Zykariel. You know, where daddy comes from, Lloth doesn't even stick her nose into our business." Not that that made it any less horrendous.

Her heart sank at that though she'd be damned if she knew why. "Yes...boundaries." Of course her gaze snapped up at Zykariel and she stared at him for a long moment.
Zykariel came fully into the room and over to his father, wrapping his arms around his neck. "Mr. Malik said that the women hurt the men. She hit you, didn't she? Didn't you?" Looking at his mother. Why was nothing the way he thought it would be?
"I didn't mean to. He just..startled me and I reacted."
He reached up and lightly touched his father's cheek. "If you don't want her to stay...I'll understand." Daddy came first. He wouldn't be happy about it but he wasn't going to let Daddy get hurt when he'd loved him all these years and taken care of him.
"I'm...going to go set the kitchen in order." She stood up slowly and walked to the door, glancing back. "It really was an accident..." Then she was gone.

Oh look things just fell apart. Well that was nothing new for him. But he took Zykariel by the shoulders. "Stop it. Do not blame her for these sorts of things. Accidents happen, it was my fault anyway, I know better than to sneak up on her. You wanted your mother and now you have her, don't sabatoge yourself like I do and ruin that, you hear me?" His tone was serious, but nothing that would cause the child to cry.

Zykariel nodded mutely and then decided to voice his understanding. "Yes Daddy. I just don't want you to get hurt." He was quiet for a long moment and he managed to force his way onto his father's lap, laying his cheek against his chest. "How do you sabatoge yourself?" That was an interesting word that he knew pretty well. It implied that you wanted what you had in the beginning.

"People get hurt, it can't be helped sometimes." But he laid a hand to the childs back and then picked him up as he stood, still holding him close for the moment. "By doing things that I know will make for bad outcomes and will want people to be away from me. It's not a good thing to do at all." Carrying the child downstairs and to the hall just before the kitchen, setting him down and pushing him toward the kitchen. "Go tell Zahara you're sorry and that you're not upset with her."

Zykariel filed all of that away. That was quite interesting, wasn't it? He held on tightly though at the push he came forward and toed the stone of the kitchen floor. "I'm sorry for upsetting you Mommy. I'm not mad at you, I just don't want Daddy to get hurt anymore..."
She turned and glanced at him for a moment then reached down and lifted him up into a hug. "It's alright Kariel, you're a smart boy and you drew your own conclusions which were correct." She hugged him tightly and whispered, "Neither do I. Not ever again." Still holding the boy she, she walked out of the kitchen and quirked an eyebrow at Sevilin. "Are you sure you're going to be alright. I feel horrible for doing that to you, especially after what already happened. But I've got a way to make it up to you."

There that was set right, he could reverie with a clear mind tonight...maybe he'd be granted something good from his memories. Leaning against the wall and crossing his arms he sighed and closed his eyes a moment. But his eyes opened once more when her voice said she was right next to him, a look to her. "I'm fine, that was nothing. You don't need to feel bad, I should know better. I don't like people doing that to me, why should you be any different." But a curious look about her making it up to him.

"Alright then I won't feel bad." She tapped the child's nose. "Would you like to help me make it up to your father?" At the child's emphatic nod, she chuckled, "Alright then. Sevilin, we'll see you at dinnertime." And thus the child was carted off to set the 'surprise' in motion. Hmm...at some point she should probably get dressed.
"I left my room a mess if you want something to clean Daddy. Nym's hidey holes are all clean though." He called back over her shoulder.

"Alright."
picked up the kid, and walked down toward a few serfs.
"bring me a cot to the study, a decent one."
then he carried his son downstairs, and to teh study, opening the door and setting him down. it was a large room, lit in torchlight. the walls covered in bookcases filled with large tomes. most were money keeping books, records, inventories and storage. though one bookcase was filled with dark bound books, tier'dal inscribed in gold and silver on the spines.
At the right wall there was a large rosewood and bronze desk, with skull designs on the corners and dragonhead feet. large leather chair with rollers on it.

Nym back on his shoulder he crossed his arms and watched them disappear into the kitchen. He assumed it involved food, and that was as far as his thought process went with that. "I'll check those." And then he turned on his heel and headed back upstiars. Hey he was willing to clean things...besides his bathrooms needed a good scrub down and such. But yes first to the child's room and a check on things, it didn't take much to clean it. But he did go to his room breifly and then back to the child's setting a shiny new piece of steel on the child's pillow. A pet to Nym's head. "That's not for you, don't take it from him." Now then, onto bathrooms.
Piper let Malik take Malikhai downstairs and breifly took a moment to decide whether she was going to keep training or not more today...well, she knew one thing she could do. And sure enough fifteen minutes later she was outside with a rowdy black winged nightmare, all tacked up and tied to a pole. "You're mine this time." Edging her way over to him and pulling herself up into the saddle, making sure she was anchored well in stirrups. Taking out some additional leather straps she tied one end to saddle buckles, the other ends to her belts. Nope, this horse was not getting away from her. Taking hold of the reins, she wrapped them around her wrists and fisted them tight before she pulled the rope that tied the horse to the pull. Sure enough he reared and tried to throw her, only to get a smartass smirk from the elf. "Not this time buddy...it's laps for you till you learn to like it." Thus a kick to him to get him indeed running laps around the fortress....he'd give in soon enough.
Malikhai looked around the place almost as if it was a museum. Well to him it was, full of books and big pieces of furniture and so on and so forth. Thus he toddled around the room some, looking with his hands and his eyes, titling his head to read the spines of books without having to take them off of the shelf...they looked heavy and he didn't want to hurt himself. "Okay so how come I can't come down here before now?" Because it didn't look like such a bad place. Onto daddy's desk, getting down low to poke at the particular carved feet of the desk.

Two serfs brought down a cot, looked comfortable enough, and it got set on the wall opposite the desk, after moving some chests aside and setting them by the desk itself.
"Because there's alot of important work that goes on here. see all those big thick books? those hold records of all the things we've bought and sold for centuries, who bought them or was bought from, and how much we paid or got paid. the books with the writing on the spine, those are dad's spell books for necromancy, I do my personal studies into it here."
nevermind the hidden trigger door in said bookcase that opened a passage that led to the necromancer experimentation and study hall. but no need to tell him that. next thing he'd know he'd be trying to cover his eyes and be soothing bad reveries at what goes on in there.
