Hehe. At the moment, I'm playing two characters, a Nord Warrior and an Argonian Assassin. I made an Orc Warrior who uses a completely different style and tactic to the Nord, but I haven't done much yet. As for mage...I'm thinking of playing a Breton first.

Yeah, well I'm playing a Breton right now and he'd probably be classified as a spellsword in the older games. Spells in the left hand and usually a katana in the right. Although for the time being he is a werewolf as well. ninja

Yeah, that's probably what I'd do. I'm not usually too good at playing a true mage character, so I'd need a practical solution to bad situations.
Bad situations including, but not limited to, AMBUSH BY SNOWY SABER CAT! ARGH! OH MY GODS RUN!
...yeah, that sort of thing.

I'm gonna one up you: ambushed by a Dragon that emits an aura that summons nearby wildlife to attack its target.
Unrelenting Force has saved me so many times, especially when you use it to blow 4 enemies off a giant cliff. biggrin

Heh. The last dragon that ambushed me was in Riverwood.
I would have been really scary and dangerous...except that it was a frost dragon against my Nord. It landed on a nearby building, opened its mouth and unleashed a ravaging blast of ice!
...which my character shrugged off, yawned, then hacked the dragon to bits without ever losing more than a tenth of his health.

Yeah. I'm not so lucky in that regard, but I do have Dragonbane up to Epic level by smithing.

I'm generally not. On my Argonian Assassin character, I pickpocketed people for a little while for fun. One of them worked out who did it and sent thugs after me. I was level three. The thugs were all far higher than that, since I used a poison which affects up to level five on one of them, which they shrugged off. That took several reloads, especially since he's unarmoured.

Ah yes. The thugs. I kicked their butts when they came after me. And the Dark Brotherhood agent someone sent my way too.

It's ok though, I got to see the orc fall on his back mid-swing from my paralysis poison several times biggrin
I probably will do from now on, but I think the scariest part of that fight was the realisation that the enemies can perform kill moves as well...and that no matter how lightning fast your reflexes are, you can never escape the kill moves.

With my Nord, it's only really powerful mage characters that I have trouble with. He has dual flurry maxed and he's really powerful with his axe, mace combo, but when it's, say, Hagravens for example, I end up using a load of potions. Still, at least you can't be hit by a kill move with a fireball...

Yeah my tactics involve my enchanted glass bow, sneak attack as much as possible, unrelenting force when they get to close, then finish 'em off with one of my katanas and healing/flames combo. Works pretty good except when you get mugged by a bunch of forsworn.

I haven't met any forsworn yet, as I got to level 15 on my Nord, then went AWOL for a while. Mostly just seeking out mines.
Then I went on my Argonian and immediately after I beat the thugs, I saved it and went to bed. That was last night and I haven't been on since. I thought about it, but decided to read webcomics and come on Gaia instead, since I haven't been here for a while.
