Arthur just blinked a few times, well that's all he could do really because the drow did give him a fair warning what would happen if he were to open his mouth and say the wrong thing; so he just sat back in his chair and listened and Malik went on about what his intentions are from him, and to say at least he was a bit surprised to hear what the drow really wanted so the elf just listened carefully. though it was funny cause with some things that Malik said he could easily read what Arthur was feeling just by looking at his face. When the drow said that his training was slacking, he didn't get upset he just kept his own look about him, he had agreed awhile ago that his training was slacking so there was no need to argue that point at all; though when he said that Arthur lacked aggression his eyebrow popped up for a second before he moved in his seat, he didn't know about that but then again when looking back his pattern was that he always defended himself so he let that one go as well.

But the elf was a little surprised when Malik told him he wanted the surface elf to be his warrior that would kill on the spot without thinking twice, though in a persons life that’s the last thing you expect coming from someone's mouth. Though when he explained the situation with Sevilin he agreed again...to a point, he would kill if it was to defend Malik's home but the elf had his own limitations; after all he's not drow. But again he was shock to hear that Malik wanted him, out of all people, to lead his warriors into battle, but didn't drow warriors hate surface elves? That was easy to see on Arthur's face when both his eyebrows shot up, this was an odd day indeed for him. Though he had a 'You expect me to do that?' look on his face when Malik mentioned that if Arthur had to kill a family of merchants for him, the whole family, he was expected to do so; the drow knew then that Arthur would bring that up.

So he let the rest of what the drow have to say go on, and listened closely; he even agreed to a point with what he had to say so he waited until the blue drow was done so he could speak. Clearing his throat the elf uncrossed his arms and let out a small wisp of air before sitting straight up in his seat. "Well first things first, I agree with you, I have been lacking in my training; though right now I decided to take care of my studies which is why you now find me here, in the library looking up those gods you wanted me to read about. I gotta say some drow gods and the Andal gods are not that bad at all, though they still can't convince me to convert over to them Malik, but the information I read up on them is good enough to know." If Malik was to get upset over that then fine let him, Arthur didn't care he just didn't see himself as a religious man that's all.

"I understand that you want me to show a lot of dedication to my training and I will, I was planning to go down to the arena to test out something I have going on in my head for awhile now but that'll happen when I train alone sometimes." Hey Arthur didn't mind when Malik made him fight against something in the arena, he was put up against some hard creatures and that allowed him to see what was down here in the Underdark; but he did like it when he was able to train alone, it allowed him to test out new things and see if there were ways to improve his skills. "The only thing I never expect for you to tell me was that you want me to lead well whatever army you got placed here, especially your warriors. But if that's what you wish then fine, I will train myself Malik so no one stabs me in the back. I would also defend your home if anyone was strong enough to get past Sevilin's runes, after all you've housed me so I must return the favour right?" A small shrug to that but the elf was serious, he had that tone about him that most can tell he was agreeing to Malik has said, if only someone else was around.

Though there was a small pause as the look across his face grew to a more serious and concern look as he watched the drow in front of him, he even leaded forward just a little in his seat. "The only thing that disturbs me about this is what you said about the merchant family, now I said that I would not mind being your warrior but you gotta understand I wasn't raised like you or Sevilin. To tell me to kill an entire family for a reason like that is something that does bother me Malik, you gotta understand that when it comes to people like you've explain there are...other ways to make them understand what they to you did was wrong okay?" Well he hope that the drow understood, Arthur couldn't just go around and kill entire family just because they were skimming some money from him, there were other ways to make them pay, Arthur has seen his own human family do that before when they had no choice; and it still shown them who was in control.

"I could say no but I don't want to." A shake of her head as she mulled thoughts over for a moment,"No I can't blame him but I feel like I'm forcing him. Like he's obligated to sleep with me because I want him too and he doesn't want to irritate me because that reminds him too much of his last life. I don't like being an obligation and I have a feeling that with the way I'm feeling now, I'm going to continue to be so just to sate my own desires." Hmm, filing that bit of info away. Piper could leave at any point. "You're leaving Malik and your son behind then?"

He crossed his arms and pouted. "But she's my Mommy..." He kicked his legs against his chair and sighed. It was so unfair sometimes. She'd said she was his Mommy and she was going to keep taking care of him. Now Piper came first.

Lharika's draithix sniffed at the younger and butted him gently in the snout when he got a little too close or nibbled in the wrong place but was more less tolerant of the baby's curious affections. "Do they fight a lot Daddy Kieran? Are they more pack minded?" She reached out and lightly picked a piece of fuzz that had somehow gotten lodged in the baby draithix's tail. "Pretty soon you'll be able to talk to them and understand them like you do me and Zykariel." She glanced over at the other boy and frowned. He wasn't happy and that made her sad.

"that's you human teaching talking there. You must always remember that this little kingdom, this house, is a drow house, a drwo kingdom...or Tier'dal as I prefer. I'm a drow of norrath, but the title of my people doesn't leave me. the ways you speak of. things like turning them over to authorities, threats, and such..mean nothing. they won't care. why woul da human judge care if a merchant skims from a drow's account? Hell they'd probably award him for pulling it off. Drow don't threaten. they act. killing is the way a drow settles these types of things. now I would in a perfect world, only need to cut down the merchant, and his family would be spared to continue his buisness. but it isn't so. I kill the merchant, his family comes for venegence later on in life when his children grow up, I kill them in self-defense by that point anyway."

settling back.

"We are elves. you have to be able to see a lifetime of human terms ahead of the game in many cases. You can go places Sevilin can't without raising too much suspicion. You are a perfect form to show displeasure in non-drow areas, because of your birth. for the most part, I would rely on sevilin for such things anyway, due to his multiple talents. but if I needed you to do the deed, you have to be able to do it."

"Forcing would imply you have to restrain him and he's saying no, or givng negative feedback. If he isn't...well then I wouldn't worry. And if you really are that concerned...then you should then just you know, take the easy way and simple ask him." Things really were that simple sometimes weren't they? Though Piper sighed and got that look of not really liking the new path of thinking. "Malik wants to go if he can...you know he wants to keep me safe and all. But that leaves Malikhai without either of us...I'd rather he have only one of us than neither of us. And I can't tote him around the underdark, he's too little for that." A shake of her head. "Though I'm sure Malik would disagree with that. Truth is I don't know what I have to do, where I have to go, what I'm in for...I can't risk my family." Yet truth be told she was scared. She had a lot to worry about now after all. "It's going to be hard."

"Yes she is. But you're not hurt right now. Son there's a thing in life called priorities. One should always have them in order. In those priorities, survival is very high. Zahara, is a healer, her job is to take care of people who are hurt. If hurt people don't get care, they get worse. Don't worry, you're right next in line." A ruffle to the boy's hair, as he drank down health water.

Malikhai frowned lightly as Yinn backed off a bit with ears back and cowering slightly. "Aw don't be scared." But it seemed Yinn didn't stay scared for long, his attention turning to his tail as Lharika picked something from it...and then he found the fluffy green and blue fur to be quite intriguing and thus went about trying to catch his tail, thus circling on the table. "I can already kinda understand the horses and Ashlyn."

"They can be quite agressive....territorial. Though they don't really have solid pack mentality. They just like to hang around in little groups but can mostly be independent. Whatever they feel like I guess." Giving a light shrug and watching the draithix and the children.

Well now there were a few good things Arthur had noticed right about now, first he didn't get Malik angry at him, a pretty good sign on his part, two out of the whole conversation they only had to come back to one subject to talk about; so a little ego boost for him, after all when he finished talking to Piper Arthur was thinking over about everything between him and Malik and decided to give what his wife asked for a shot, worked out well for him right now. Though of course they had to come back to the whole merchant family thing, a topic that was a little touchy but still the elf listened, he didn't want to get thrown out a window now didn't he? So as he listened the elf was finally able to understand what Malik was asking him for, if the drow wanted him to do something he should do it and don't be so guilty about it, he proud about it and its all about survival anyway.

So Arthur settled back in his chair and looked at Malik for a moment, his eyes blinking a few times before he smiled lightly and nodded. "Alright then fine Malik I'll be able to do it then." Though a look to the book in front of him and he reached over and grabbed it, drawing it closer to him before looking at the drow. "So is that all you need to talk to me about or is there something else?" He asked with a small tilt of his head before he opened the book back to the page he left off on.

"that's all I needed to talk with you about. So get to work on things. and if you want, you can go to Andal. But if one thing goes wrong, you're going to pay for it. and I do mean pay for it."

before he got up and left the room, heading down toward the kitchen.

Arthur nodded lightly and smiled. "Don't worry I will get right on things." Which was true because he wanted to go train down in the arena for a little while before hitting the bed. Though when Malik said he could go to Andal Arthur had this very huge grin on his face, he was jumping for joy but not literally, if he did Malik may take it back; no instead he was doing it on the inside and couldn't wait to go tell Isle. "Well don't worry Malik, if I make one mistake I intend to pay for it, trust me." At least he was able to get that out before the drow left. So with his grin on his face Arthur went back into his book, the gods were getting very interesting.

"He does give negative feedback." Piper just didn't understand how complicated this...thing between them really was. "I use certain words and he tenses up. So what do I do? I play with his ears because that melts him back down. But it's always there. Sevilin Inthara is the most in control male I know. His sex drive is not associated with him unless he allows it, or I mess with his ears. He can turn arousal on and off almost at will and it drives me insane!" A knock on the door brought two trays of roast chicken, fried rice, and vegetables with a piping hot dinner roll on the side. Zahara took both trays, brought one to Piper and settled with hers on the other side of the bed. "We could take Malikhai. Sevilin and I. We could even hang out here so Malikhai would still be among familiar things. Zykariel would be thrilled and another child would be no hardship on me."

"Priorities." He sighed again, "Yeah...I guess I'm not hurt and Malikhai would be sad if his Mommy didn't get better." Then he uncrossed his arms and glanced up at his father, uncertainty shining in his eyes mixed with that childish innocence that was so compelling. "Daddy...do you promise?"

Lharika giggled gaily at the little draithix's new fascination with his tail. She reached out and scooped up her own, plopping a kiss on his little snout and letting him curl up in her lap as he let out a few chirps, chitters and trills of his own. "That's good Malikhai. Gotta keep trying and you'll get them perfect."

"Like I said Zahara, you have expect things. And when you can recognize those things reminiscent of a time in his life better to be left alone, you have to ween him off of them. You think Malik didn't take any work? I'm sure you're got your own triggers too. Hell even I do. Everyone does. Just have to work through them." Though yes a raised eyebrow at all the offered information. "That's rather interesting...you know, I have these candles that would fix that. I used to use them on Malik back in Neriak when I had to practically beg for attention because he was so paranoid." But those thoughts put aside a moment as food was brought. Good looking food too...which she was going to eat all of merely to please people. And well...after Malik she really did need some food. But a somewhat of a smile to Zahara. "You would? I know you'd take good care of him...but I'd feel so guilty."

Taking a pause from that drink he was slowly getting down...stung after all. Another ruffle at the boy's hair. "I promise, you're next in line." Giving him a smile before patting down some of the chaos of the boy's hair, but a slight look over as his ears caught sound. He was all on the look out and stuff now wasn't he? Maybe it was because he was all nice and relaxed and mellow like. It was an interesting feeling.

He merely beamed some more, making a noise he had heard from Yinn before, only to get the creatures attention where it started at him, playfully postured and bounced at him once before he caught sight of his fluffy ended tail again and took back to that. "I think I said something he liked." But a look over. "Daddy!"

It was cute to watch wasn't it? Very much indeed. And yes he was throughly enjoying his little mini vacation of sorts. A look to Malik, giving him a nod before turning his attention back to the children. But of course he had to make one comment with a chuckle. "Rabbits." Still chuckling for a bit before sobering.

"Malik? The sex fiend Malik?" she scoffed disbelivingly though the candles might just be the ticket. If she could just get Sevilin to chill out and accept what she was trying to do for him, things might go a little smoother. Much the way they did when they'd been runed and drugged into it. That had been mind blowing sex. Why? Because neither of them had time or restraint to let their little neurosis ruin it for them. "I'd like to borrow a few of those candles if you don't mind," she said softly as she began to eat her own food. "They might be just what I need." She did turn to glance at the other elf and shook her head. "You'd feel far worse if something happened to that boy while he was out with you. He's safer at home and you need someone with you. But if it really upsets you, Malik could stay and you could just take someone else. Like Isle, isn't she hanging around for a while? Or I could come if you wished."

Zykariel glanced at the little draithix for a moment but remembered Nym's less than stellar reaction and coughed. "Daddy, I'd like chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese for dinner, please."

That little draithix noticed the other drow at the table a moment later and hopped off his mistress' lap and scampered over. Hey! I know you! Sniffing happily, he yipped once and began to lick the little boy's chin. Lharika just laughed, waved to Malik, and watched the draithix go. She really needed to name him... Though a confused look over to her father. "What about rabbits, Daddy Kieran?"

"Hi, Mr. Malik. Where have you been?" He giggled and reached out petting the draithix gently then grinning, let the animal crawl into his lap and curl up. "He likes me still!"

"Discussing things with arthur."

though a smirk at Kieran's comment.

"yeah yeah. but it was needed for some stress relief."

then to his son, mussing his hair lightly and looking between Sevilin and Kieran.

"Arthur has permission to go to Andal. however...anything goes bad thanks to him, I want to know about it, Kieran. i don't care how little or trivial it seems. and Sevilin, please tell me your not attempting to cook anything more complicated that chicken nuggets."

Okay she got a giggle. "Neriak is quite the place. The Llothian aspect is missing which I think actually makes it twice as dangerous as practicing Llothian society. We had to be careful about things, and Malik and a reputation and such to sustain. I admit, I got desperate...but they're fun anyway...makes everyone mellow. Mellow is good." Taking a pause from her food to lean over to the bottom drawer of the bedside table, rummaging through the drawer and coming up with two candles, holding them out to Zahara. "Here you go, enjoy." Though she dare say this was highly amusing...after all, it was Sevilin and Zahara and it seemed like Zahara had zeroed in on one male...at least for now. But a nod and a sigh. "All I can think about is how miserable I was without both my parents...though I guess he'll be alright. He adores his father. If Malik stayed then he'd at least have him. But it's not even up to me if someone can go or who can or what. I'm in a patch of dark that not even my vision abilities can make better."

Chitter. That is my boy, how many times must I tell you that? Nym has excellent timing now didn't he? Yes yes he did...he always stayed close, one just didn't see him all the time. As of now, he was sitting on the table corner, tail all puffed up and such. But he didn't get much time to do anything as he was picked up off the table by his scruff, turning his head to twitch his nose at Sevilin who had hold of him.

Sevilin rolled his eyes at the ferret he held. "You're a jealous thing." Merely holding him by his scruff like that for the moment. But he merely gave his son a look. Kid ate like him, but the same thing over and over. Sevilin himself was sick of child food again. A raise of an eyebrow, turning his eyes to Malik. "No, you have people who do that here. Why am I going to use my bad cooking skill when I can use the good ones of people you have around." Said look to the help in that 'you heard the boy' manner.

Oh Kieran could just have too much fun couldn't he? A light chuckle and a pet to Lharika's hair. "Oh they were just on my mind dear." Giving his attention to Malik then, "Obviously." And the raise of an eyebrow. "Does he now, I take it you got what you wanted out of him and some understanding as well?" Then one of those Kieranesque nods. "Duely noted Malik. I know how important to you it is that no one gets accosted by the Brigade. One does do a lot of wonderful thinking in those cells though."

Malikhai gave a giggle, grabbing hold to his father's forarm and holding on. "How come he gets to go?" Though he was guessing the answer was along the lines of him not being big/old enough. After all, if daddy got sick when they went up there, surely Malikhai would. He didn't think he'd want to be sick. But a tug on Malik's sleeve and a point to Yinn. "Look daddy, I'm taking good care of him." And as children do, moving on to a new subject. "What are we having dinner?" Giving a yawn after that statement though.

She took the candles and after sniffing them for a moment, set them next to her on the table and returned to her food. "Well if they worked on Malik, they're sure to work on Sevilin. He won't even realize it either, until its far too late." But her attention and thoughts went to the dilemma at hand. "He won't be growing up without you, you aren't going to be gone that long...right? I mean it's just a task that you have to do, pay off your debt, blah, blah, blah, and then right back home. Or is there more to this than you know or just don't want to tell me?"

Two triangular ears popped up, that puffy tail began wagging and then two paws were on the table and the draithix was yipping and barking at Nym. You can share. Besides, he likes me. Thus growling playfully and prancing his front paws before turning and once again licking at the boy's chin.

"Silly Nym. I let you reverie with me at night." He giggled again at the soft, pink tongue bathing his face and tickled behind the draithix's ears. "What are you gonna name him Lharika?"

She gave a glance at her father as though she wasn't quite sure and then her attention turned back to Zykariel. "I'm not really sure. Something elven but I haven't quite decided what he reminds me of or what he really likes to do. Like Malikhai's likes to nibble, thus Yinn."

His food was brought out a moment later and he began to attack it, eating chicken nuggets quite quickly and keeping the curious draithix down in his lap. "Want one Daddy? Khai? Lark? Mr. Malik? Mr. Kieran?" Half of which was asked with his mouth full.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 24, 2007 10:45 pm

"I think you might be a little tired. might be time for reverie for you, Malikhai."

then a slight grin to Zykariel.

"No thanks, things are fine. and good job on taking care of your draithix so far son."

almost forgot to mention that. then over to kieran.

"I think he understands better what I am expecting of him. and hopefully he'll get in gear quickly."

"I think they work on anybody with a sense of smell and a sex drive. ANd yes, the point is to catch them off guard." Giving a giggle at that before settling some and eating from her plate like a good little elf. " I don't know how long I'll be gone. I'm in the dark so to speak." Continuing at her food, it all soon gone and the tray set aside as she leaned back against the pillows. She was suffering Malik fatigue after all. Hopefully you'll give me a clear tomorrow, I have to start training. Myself that is, not horses."

"But I gotta eat." Said as a plate of chicken nuggets was set down for him too, apparently some serf having the foresight to know to give the child something quick to eat so that he could go to bed. He was tired, magic and all today. And thus he took to eating, giving a nod to his father and breaking one nugget in half, setting it on the table for Yinn who eagerly took to first inspecting then eating it. And of course beaming from praise...it was so nice when he got that.

He gave a hiss and struggled a moment before latching to Sevilin's sleeve and managing himself some hold as Sevilin let him go and he crawled up his arm to rest on his favorite shoulder perch. You're only doing that because he will feed you.

A roll of his eyes at Nym, still more or less ignoring Kieran to keep from maiming him, and he settled his attention on his own son. "Don't talk with your mouth full, and no thank you, I'm not eating. And yes Zahara said it was alright that I wasn't." Because he knew the child would pull the food argument. Waiting for the boy to eat up, after all it was close to the time that little elves went to bed anyway.

"Ah, so I expect to be breifed on what I may need to do to keep him from dying the first few days. Though that is a subject better left for tomorrow, seeing as things are all winding down and I'm sure we'd all like some rest." Giving a look to Lharika, petting her hair. "You'll think of a good name."
