A slight chuckle.
"We're not that bad. you've been talking to Kieran too much. or overhearing things."
But Malik got a devious little grin, and through the wonders of emotional bonding, decided to prod those recent memories into a semi-conious reverie state just to torment and please his wife some. ha! let Zahara beat that one.
"Besides, I need to see Arthur."
which meant that was where malik headed, toward whatever room Arhtur was occupying now.

Zahara chuckled, "You wouldn't know if I walked right in front of you Piper. You've been rather involved yourself for the last few hours. But if you really wish to know I was with Sevilin." She plopped on Piper's bed and flopped back against the freshly plumped nad cleaned pillows. "Come on, it's not really all that bad. I was only half serious about the straight to reverie."
"We can't go back home yet till Miss Piper and Daddy are better. Mommy likes to have them all in one place so she can be their healer without too much fuss." Though he turned a look up to his father with his eyes all wide. "That's kinda old, Daddy. Mommy's not that old, is she?"
Lark giggled, "Daddy Kieran's older than that, aren't you? Or are you younger? I forget. I just know you're a lot older than I am."

No matter what Zahara said, she wasn't going to-....oh great, now she had that to deal with. After all, reveries were wonderful mimics of actual events...at least it wasn't a full one. Half of her appreciated the prod from Malik and the other half perhaps wanted to kill him for torturing her in such a way. After all, memories never comapred well enough to the real thing sometimes. But still...was enough to make her all bothered. Was she flushed? But she took a breath a moment to be somewhat coherent and looked to Zahara. "Yes I would of, you would of made a comment to which Malik would of made a comment and then there ya go. I would know." But a raise of an eyebrow. "You were with Sevilin for several hours? Doing what, babysitting him so that he'd stay in bed? I think you need to hire an assisstant at this point." Crossing her arms lightly.
Kieran shrugged lightly and rubbed at the back of his neck in thought for a moment. "I do believe that I am five hundred and....thirty two. Yes." After a certain point you didn't really count too much but being an elf you never forgot how many years passed you by. He ruffled her hair some.
"Right then, can't go back home till we're all better. And no, Zahara isn't that old. She's not ever two hundred yet." Which was kind of amusing but also kind of nice at the same time. After all, drow women further on in thier years were hightly frightening and such. At least to Sevilin they were. Like his sisters...they were some scary things for centuries of practice. Well...at least three of them. But back to his son. "Is it time to feed you then?"
He toddled over to his grandfather. "I'm hungry too." Or at least tummy said so.

Zahara glanced over at Piper and was struck by the full color blooming on her face though she shrugged it off. "It took a while to give him his medicine. He's about as stubborn as you are. Besides I have an enjoyable time entertaining the both of you. I taught Sevilin slap Jack." She sighed dramatically. "You two act like I'm killing you...when I merely try to help. Ungrateful lot. Your dinner should be up shortly but unlike Malik I'm not going to make you eat it all if you don't want to." Damn she was getting to be entirely too nice with this wasn't she?
"That's not old. But I guess Mommy's aren't supposed to be." He nodded. "Yup. Tummy says so." Glancing up he lifted his arms and waited.
Lark wasn't hungry but she would be more than willing to sit and let the boys eat. "I can finish feeding Yinn if you like Malikhai. While you eat."

Once Malik located arthur, he simply let himself in.
"You and I need to have a talk."
oh and just because, one more mental prod to piper. Watching Arthur with a completely serious look on his face, crossing his arms lightly.

Damn it, she was going to be uncomfortable all night long now. Note to self, hurt Malik...or tie him to the bed and have her way with him, whichever came first. "Sure, you spent several hours yelling at him and then teaching him a card game." No she didn't believe her...besides, as a woman she knew a particular look to one of her felloow females. "Hypocrite, you slept with him." Because of course she wasn't going to let her get away with that now as she? Of course not.
He looked to the creature in his arms who was merely resting there much like a cat and swaying his tail back and forth. "Nym eats at the table, I think Yinn should too." Unless of course if mommy and daddy said so but that was up for debate right now. But a look to his young aunt. " 'Sides, all the family needs to be at the table so you have to come too aunt Lark. Do you know what his noises mean? He makes some over and over."
He picked the child up effortlessly and turned, starting to cart him off out of the nursery. Usually he would of made the child clean up, but this wasn't there house and as he had heard the child say before, they had help to do that kind of thing here. "Alright then, let's get you fed, and I have to take my medicine or I'm going to get fussed at."
Kieran shook his head. Okay so some things didn't change completely and it looked like Sevilin was one of them. But a look back to his grandchild and adopted daugher. "Well, Lharika how about you grab your little draithix and we can all go downstairs, have dinner, and then have a little teaching session of draithix things."

She didn't deny it and was rather glad that drow couldnt' blush. Not that she was blushing but still. "Yes I did. Which is part of the reason I'm cloistering myself away with you. He can't handle anymore and his only issuse is his throat. You don't need anymore either and being that the last- I hesitate to say few but I will anyway-few times were in a chair. That's not good for your concussion Piper. So we both get to suffer. See? I'm not all bad."
"Healing either hurts or doesn't taste good Daddy but it does help." He patted his father's back in show of support and then grinned. "If you're real nice and tell her how pretty she looks she might not fuss."
"Okay!" Thus getting her own draithix who was curled into a fun little ball on the end of her bed and snuggling him against her. "Sometimes they're just content or happy noises Malikhai. Like...purring."

Arthur sighed a little bit, he has been reading up on the gods for a few hours now, he has found somethings interesting while other either puzzling or just plain weird. So there he was, sitting in the library with his head in a book, he has been able to note a few good drow gods which didn't make what he believed to be drow society seem pretty hopeless because of the one god he has never like, Loth, causing so much pain. But there was also the Andal gods which he ddin't mind at all, still none of them really held enough interest for him to actually convert.
But when Malik came in all Arthur did was glance up and sighed mentally, he really just wanted to read before he head down to the arena again; he had an idea he wanted to test out a little. But when the drow said that they were going to have a talk the young elf streched a little bit and leaned back in his chair, he had to listen to what the man says anyway so he should relax first. But of course he had to make a mental note not to try and get mad at him, after all Malik is the one who wants to talk not Arthur. Of course in a almost mimicing fashion the elf crossed his own arms, he had a serious look but not the kind that would make people think he was upset, ever since his chat with Piper he was willing to have a 'nice' talk with her husband. "Well let's talk...what do you want Malik?"

A raised eyebrow. He couldn't handle anymore? Well there was an interesting topic if there ever was one. "Correction, you slept with him for a few hours. I thought that you and him weren't like that aside from your own biological needs at times." Of course she was going to point things out to. Oh Malik would get a kick out of this one. "And the last few times for me were on the table, not in the chair, thank you very much. And yes I will be showing some bruising, just to let you know that now and that that's my fault. He was indulging what I started." Though yes a chuckle and one of those looks to Zahara. "So, you not being able to share a bed with him now is suffering?"
"Yes that's right." Though he merely shook his head as he made his way downstairs and bypassed the dining room for the kitchen...where since Zahara wasn't already cooking, he deducted that she wasn't cooking. Oops, told the kid wrong on that point. "I think Zahara is busy with Piper, so we're going to have to get the help to cook for us or cook for ourselves. What'll it be?" Meanwhile fetching himself a glass of water and dumping some salt in, pulling out a packet of that powder that he had stashed in his pocket and dumping that in.
He waited for Lark to fetch her own pet before he ushered both children along downstairs, had to feed them after all. "That's true, but as we've both learned Lark, some noises actually mean something and it is imporant that he does know such things, yes?" Prompting the child to conduct a teachign session...after all that was important for her to know.
Malikhai nodded in agreement. "Yeah because sometimes he makes this noise when I say something to him," Thus mimicking a sort of mewl click hiss noise, "and then other times he does this," a yip growl bark kind of sound...wow he was getting good at that mimicking thing. "He always seems to know what I say but I can't understand what he wants or says back. That's not fun."

"You need to learn, I think, the extent of my intentions for you, and what I want from you. So you listen, I talk, you don't act like a smartass or ignore me, and I don't throw you out a window."
So he took a seat, and leaned back some.
"Your training is slacking. but your human raised ideas of training and the needs of them are much different than mine. the traingin for a drow is much more intense. everyone is potential competition, and potential threat to ones position and place. one movement not done correctly, one blow not parried, can kill you, literally."
"You seem to lack something I need you to have. agression. when you have managed to strike me, or the instance of knocking me down, you failed to capitalize on the situation, or even try. you're entire array of skills almost completely revolves around defense and keeping enemies at bay rather than destroying them. This is unacceptable. I need you to be a warrior, a killer...or at least fully capable of killing without hesitation, no matter what you are facing."
"Right now, I am using Sevilin as my sword and my shield. If we were to go to war with Deepwater, or the orcish legions, or the Purians...Sevilin is the leader of my armies. he is my general. but I also have to rely on him for the runic defenses of my home, to organzie those that would be here defending my home from invaders and repraoch. And it's too draining on Sevilin's talents to force this on him. I need him to be my Shield, and that alone."
"I want you to become my sword. For you to become skilled enough, strong enough, to be able to lead drow into battle without risking one of them stabbing you in the back. I want to be able to send you to do things I need done, to kill what or whom needs killed, to be able to trust in your skill to lead elves and lessers into battle without a moment of second guessing myself. Without questioning my choice on the matter."
"If I were to command you to walk into Deepwater, and kill a merchant and his family who are skimming money from me, I have to be confident beyond any doubt that when you come back that family is dead. Do you understand me? I need you to be able to fight, to kill, to lead as a drow might."
Leaning forward some.
"If I had to leave now, I can't trust you to defend my home. Your skills are lacking, and your agression is none existant. I couldn't with confidence know that if someone got past sevilin's runics, for whatever reason, that they wouldn't make it past you. wether it's a full grown mage, a paladin, or even a child sent and trained as an assassin, that you will not hesitate to kill."
"right now you barely hold your own in many cases. and why? because you won't strike down those against you. you have to be willing, and able, to make those strikes in the arena. those gladiators, those animals, are trained and bred to die. They know that everytime they step in that arena they may not step out of it. and it's reflected in the intesity in thier assaults. I need you to have that same intensity, that same determination."
"only twice have you dared to stand to me with any kind of real intensity or conviction. the day I took you blade and made you fight for it back, and tonight. but that conviction, that dedication, is what I need form you everyday, every hour. in yout training, in your studies, and in your duties. Any questions?"

"Same time next week?"
Kora scrubbed two of the brushes together, cleaning them. Her lower back and shoulders were a little tender from the unusual workout; she'd used muscles she never knew exsisted!... But over all, it wasn't all that bad. She'd rather groom a dragon in a stable then clean a never ending suply of dishes at the Inn, ANY day!
Besides, that Kalam Character was a good looking fellow. She flashed a quick grin, his way, as she turned to store the cleaned brushes away.

"Yes well, things change." She ran her fingers through her still damp hair. My, did things ever change. "Doesn't matter. Bed or not at all. The bed will cushion you both and keep you from being rattled too much which is potentially bad for your head, regardless if your concussion is healing or not. Besides a more intense culmination as often occurs in places aside from the bed can carry their own ill effects in your condition. At least if such an episode were to occur you would be on a feathered mattress and less chance of things to go wrong." She wasn't worried about the bruises. While they still rubbed her the wrong way, she had learned long ago to just accept them and move on with life. It was Piper's skin not Malik's violence which was the only thing that stopped her from slitting his throat. Then she sighed, "Yes. He's become a drug to me and that scares the hell out of me...I think I'm addicted to Sevilin."
Zykariel blinked at his father, processing such things for a moment. Why was Mommy too busy to be Mommy? She always cooked, unless she wasn't home. But she was home. He tugged lightly on his father's braid. "But you said she was cooking, Daddy." His voice was full of accusation.
Lark nodded. "Yup. They're very smart creatures. And they like to talk to you." She giggled as Malikhai copied the noises almost exactly and clapped her hands. "You can do what Mama Fianna does!"

Alright I get it. No sex. Much as that ruins my fun...it's even less fun to have to fuss at me and talk down to me in the healer way of yours. Whatever will you do when I'm gone for who knows how long and you have no one to fuss at about health." Shaking her head and giving a chuckle, rolling her eyes slightly. But yes a raised eyebrow. "Didn't know he was that good in bed. But hey no reason to be scared by it...just enjoy it while it lasts." Sure she had breeched the mother thing with Zahara but she wasn't going to press her luck on any other area. "I guess I better have you rig me up a little first aid thing for my trip, hm?" Offering a subject change if Zahara decided to clam up on her.
"Yes I know. Adults make mistakes. Therefore, I made a mistake." Oh no, please oh please don't turn into a fussy child about. Hoping as he lifted the glass, drinking down at least a quarter of the concoction as he waited to see if this was going to go bad on him.
He beamed. "Mommy can do it too." Plopping down at the table that a serf had just finished wiping down for one reason or another he figured. And he plopped Yinn on the table top as well, watching the little guy sniff and explore the smooth surface a little.
"Wood elves are master mimics. Fianna and Piper can do it both, it's only right to guess that Malikhai would pick it up." Patting the boy on the head. "And good job at it too. You'll be sounding like the real thing and causing mischeif in no time."

"No it's really not okay. It's a one way addiction and Sevilin often isn't really involved if you know what I mean. He's not afraid to tell me no, at least that's what he says, but he's never really thrilled and he certainly doesn't ask me." She shook her head and sighed. "I don't want to be addicted to him and I certainly don't know how the hell it happened..." But Piper was changing subjects so she nodded. "I can do that. Get a basic kit together for most of the things you could run up against." She was already mentally selecting potions and a list of herbs she'd give her. Had to be prepared for any eventuality in the Underdark. "Wait, where are you going?"
"But she always cooks!" He dropped his head rather hard onto his father's shoulder and started to squirm. "I don't want the help to cook for me...."
"Won't that be fun?" She sat down at the table herself and laid her currently unnamed draithix on the smooth surface allowing him to sniff Yinn then sit back down and chirp. "Look, he's saying hello. It's really neat to watch them talk."

Okay so Zahara wasn't happy with it...and well she was Piper. She should have a degree in these sorts of matters by now. "You can't really blame him Zahara...I mean look what kind of man he is, was." She wasn't quite sure what the correct one was right now. "So what you think you can't say no to him? It's easy really...you should practice in a mirror." But then a nod. "Great...and well, last time I met with Meilikki she said that I should more or less be ready at a moments notice to repay my debt to her." Piper didn't know exactly where she was going or what she was doing as of yet.
Of course he wasn't that lucky now was he? Nope. But he merely gave a sigh and walked back to the dinning room, dropping the boy into a chair. "Don't fuss now. You can't always have things your way Zykariel. She's busy tonight, most likely with Piper." Watching the boy a moment while he drank down more horrible health water.
Malikhai crossed his arms on the table and rested his head on them as he more or less waited for dinner, because help always had that under control, and merely watched the draithix with a smile. And he mimicked the sound, watching as they looked at them before Yinn turned his attention to the elder one and in baby like fashion had to poke and prod...and in his case chew. "I can say it too."
Oh yes, Kieran could see that that was going to cause a lot of fun. "Just keep an eye on them, dont' want them fighting or anything now do we?" Though yes angling a look covertly to Sevilin and Zykariel. Seemed the child was attempting to throw a tantrum.
