Lily, you will have to tell us how your boot camp goes and I wish you luck in it, because from what I hear, it is vigorous.
What kind of traditions for Christmas (if you celebrate it) does your families have? Also, since we haven't had a lot of Harry Potter talk in here for a while, what do you think Christmas would be like in the Potter family if Harry hadn't lost his parents?
I think that Harry's house would be decorated with a lot of Christmas-y things and Harry would get a lot of presents from his parents!

Good luck Lily smile
--
We don't have any major traditions in our family except usually every year we go over to my Grandparents for dinner on Christmas and that's as far as we go tradition wise haha.
I think Christmas in the Potter family would be lots of fun and I'm sure Harry would be spoiled with gifts from his parents and I'm sure Sirius would be there to give him something special every year.

I think that Harry's house would be decorated with a lot of Christmas-y things and Harry would get a lot of presents from his parents! Christmas pukes on my house... It's everywhere. gonk We have four Christmas trees! One really big one, a two foot one in each room and then there are the wall trees. We have more nativity sets then church, more stockings then family members, and don't get me started on the collect of Santa dolls. ninja I do like the food tough. mrgreen Everyone comes over on Christmas eve in my family. Sixteen people. We have a small house. Kids get sent to the basement, adults get the up stairs. I am fine with that because we get the pool table and the air hockey table, not to mention a huge tv, it's old though and all of our gaming systems. It's funny but any other time of the year, you can't get into the basement easily, there is one clear area. We have to clean it just to have space for the family. xd As for Harry's Christmas, totally. He'd be getting wizarding gets left and right, in the book it seems like that kid was adored even before he-who-must-not-be-named made him the boy who lived. And Grey you are lucky make sure to your Grandma a big hug. I miss mine.

Wow Katie. That sounds like it would be suppper busy at your house.
And yes, I always tell my Grandma I love her and hug her even after she cuts me up over everything hhaa. I realize that she's 82 {Gah! I think it's 82} and that we may not have much more time together. She's still the best cook I know and makes the best desserts ever! razz biggrin

The world changes a lot in a life time. Sometimes people don't want to change or don't like the changes that do happen, but life is like a river that has to expand and get much rougher as we go in order to make the way smooth for those to come. Eventually there is no more work we can do in our lives and our drop that is part of the river joins with a clam ocean. Sometimes that greatest thing we can do is let them know we appreciate their work. Even if we don't always agree. As for the desserts I know what you mean. My Grandmother died when I was five and I still remember her cooking. mrgreen

I don't have many traditions but all of us (My grandparents siblings and their off spring) get together for a party where Santa comes and we sit on his lap and he literally knows everything because it's usually my great uncle that dresses as santa and he talks to all of us for ever before he actually does santa. And it's really funny because kisses his wife when he's dressed up so we all tease them saying the whole "I saw mommy kissing santa clause" thing. And ask her what her husband would say.

Haha that's funny.
Yeah, I understand what you mean Katie. I love my Grandparents and I really don't ever want to see the day when they're not around. Because really, it's going to be extremely horrible. That's just my Moms parents. I only met my Dad's Dad {his Mom died before I was born} this summer because him and my Dad hadn't spoken in about 15 years. We ended up getting a phone call in about May from my Dad's uncle saying that his Dad was in really bad shape in the hospital and he may not make it. I guess what happened was he had gone in the hospital for a gaul {sp??} bladder and they ended up cutting part of his intestines out 'by mistake' and so he's been in the hospital ever since then. So my Dad went to visit him and meet his new step mom {he re-married after my now dead Grandma died} who is from China! And she turned out to be one of the nicest women, my Dad and anyone from our family has ever met. So that day he went to the hospital, his Dad was still unconcious but he woke up when my Dad came! And supposedly everytime that we've visited him he gets better for about a week but then gets sick again. It's still hard for me to actually call him my Grandpa, I don't know why, I think it's just weird because I've never known him my whole life. But we've found out now that he was a tailgunner in World War 2 and had a bunch of crashes and at one point was a POW and when they were interrogating him at some points they'd hold a gun in his mouth until he agreed to say anything.
Okay.. Sorry for that whole story haha, I kind of got carried away there razz

That reminds me of yesterday's thing where they had us assault a bunker. The Cadre know me really well so they pick on me more and that's why when Wolf said he would choose 8 of us to do it I knew I was screwed. Well I was right. I wound up as Alpha team leader which means I had to lead them all through after Bravo team did the assault. Well they sprung a surpise and one of the cadets shot one of my men. Of course I had to kill the cadet and keep going to finish the mission since that's part of the soldiers creed. The guy on my team I had to leave was teasing me about it later. But we did come back for him after we got to our LOA. That was our current mission and we couldn't stop. It's like when Padme gets hurt and Anakin wants to help her, but Obi Won asks what she would do and he knows she would put the mission first. And don't ask how the hell I know this. It just came to me. I'm not really a starwars fan.

Okay, so there is this movie crew in town and they are obviously shooting a movie. They have been here for like a month and today they were at my school. One my best friends was lucky enough to get to school early and was asked to be an extra while they were shooting in front of the school. And my friend, Alyx, found out that these movie guys (who are from California) don't like Kansas weather (le gasp, I am from Kansas XD). So, yesterday it was seriously like 60 degrees and today it was snowing and everything was icy and its really cold! One of the movie guys was like "What next, a tornado????!?!?!?!?" and my friend was like "Probably". Haha I don't know if you guys think that was funny, but I sure did. I dunno maybe you have to be from Kansas to understand what it is like.

I dunno maybe you have to be from Kansas to understand what it is like. xd I know what you mean I live in Michigan Gerp, and the saying is 'If you don't like the weather in Michigan wait five minutes.' Once last year it was 70 one day, 30 the next, then 50 the day after, and finally on the fourth day it snowed and thundered. They don't write about that kind of weather in the bible. You just have to live with it. People in Cali are way to pampered anyway, they think the whole nation has mid weather. So nature took it upon herself to give'm a swift kick to remind them, I don't treat everyone as nice as you goobers. I hope everyone is doing well. I just finished my quarter of college, and I am wiped. I am stressing over the final grade. I hope I pass. I am doing the 'please let me pass' dance. ninja That is how bad I need to get this grade.

Haha one of the sayings here are "You know your from Kansas when you switch from AC to heater and back again all in one day". Its crazy. Today it is still kinda cold but it is a lot warmer than it was yesterday.
I hope you pass your class. We are getting near our finals. They are next week but they will be pretty easy because our teachers don't really focus on mid-terms, they hit us hard at the end of the year, specially for us seniors!
I am doing Okay, and how are you Katie?

You're lucky Katie. I got really sick over the weekend and this is our finals week. I'm lucky though because I don't really have to worry until friday when I have my two hard classes finals back to back. Today I took a test for the online Government I'm taking to finish high school and I am praying I passed that because I have to pass it to get credit for the class. I go home Saturday and I'm so happy. I'm from Utah and we're up here in the mountains. It can be all sunny and warm one day and snow the next so I know what you guys are talking about. Storms come on all of a sudden. Monday I wasn't feeling good at all so about 2 I laid down and went to sleep and it was real good, warm weather. Well, for December anyways. I was out til about 10 when I looked out the windo and saw it had snowed really bad. Same thing happened over my birthday in October. We were doing that camp out thing for my ROTC class and it was all warm and nice. I couldn't wear the cold weather gear cause it was too hot. Then the next morning I'm laying in my sleeping bag thinking it's a night mare because it's so cold. We finally wake up at 5 and it starts snowing. I was swimming in a resivoir in Hurricane Utah just south of me right now and it was nice. I notice some clouds in the distance and my friends and I laugh and decide to swim back and get the dog my friend left on a rock. (Don't ask I didn't agree with it) Well on our way back the waves got all big, the wind was hard, and I was like "Well, I found out why they call it Hurricane."

Oh wow, I thought Kansas was one of the only states that had that kind of crazy weather. It happened it again in the last few days. Yesterday, it was 55 degrees and about that at 6 o'clock this morning. Then at 6:15, my mom went back outside and found that the temperature had dropped drastically and it was also very windy!
Okay, so I might not be as active in the next few days because I am probably going to be spending a lot of time trying to convince my best friend to come back home. She moved in with a guy that she has known for 4 months and that she has been dating for a week. Her parents really really don't want her there and neither does my other friend and I. I mean, I think maybe only her mom has ever met this guy, so we really don't know him at all and it just scares us. So, I will be trying to convince her that if she doesn't want to live at home, that I have a spare bedroom she can occupy for a much lower price that what she is paying now. Just thought I would let you guys know.

Just thought I would let you guys know. Why do people rush head long into things? ninja *Sigh* Well good lucl Grep. You can't change someones mind for them but you can give reason why it's a bad idea. I am moving out with my friend after her divorce next month or so. So I am scrambling to find a job. But this is only after much debate and double checking with her, and I have known her for years. I don't understand how people can move out with a stranger so easily. xp I hope things turn out all right and take as much time as you need. To Lily: I hope you do well in your finals. My final grade was a 87% which is a higher B. I danced. xd So far my break has been okay we have been trying to get my best friend daughter her b-day party but it doesn't look like she'll have one this year. We may just celebrate on Christmas. Just to much is going on as of late. I keep trying to ask the guy I like out but I never get the chance. People keep popping in and interrupting. Its becoming a comedy at this rate. And the 38 year old that asked me out, is back and he creeps me out so badly. He seems to honestly be brow bulling the guy I like. I am about to just tell everyone else to fudge off and leave us alone for two minutes! xp Well here is to hoping. I hope everyone else's life is going smoother.
