i totally do that stuff too. if my team loses when I'm home I pick another place to watch. if they won while i was somewhere else, I go there next time they're playing. I wear the same shirt if they win (until they lose) and it doesn't get washed (until they lose) etc etc etc Hahahaha! That's like the players who wear the same pair of socks and won't wash them until they lose.

And about needing extra money for the holidays, Jason's job is in a precarious situation because the labs are getting ready to announce exactly how much of a budget cut they're getting and exactly how many jobs here will be lost. They anticipate as many as 2500, but in any case, contractors go first, and Jason's a contractor, and he thinks there are only about 300 contractors left. He had applied for an internal job with the labs themselves, but now they're on a hiring freeze as well, so he's applied for a County job with a $13k pay cut.
So we've already bought Jade's Christmas gifts here and there when we get the chance and while we have the money (although we went into overdraft protection AGAIN for the second time this month!) Amber doesn't care about gifts, and Jason and I can forego ours for now. I'm already behind on my birthday, anniversary, and even Mother's Day.
I'm not worried though. Whatever happens happens for a reason, and there are always other opportunities.
