Tonight is the night we become great! The Stars will show us the way! You dare to not give Megaman to respect he deserves! It matters not if I'm the minority, for you still are shameful! Hell, Sonic is even taking after Megaman in a return to retro gaming!
That's right. Sonic is no more than a follower!
I guess so, Gro... Tonight is the night we become Great! The Stars are what gave us away!

Tonight is the night we become great! The Stars will show us the way! I can only assume you mean with like Battle Network and Star Force, no?
Those aren't sticking to the side scrolling nature, and thus I consider an experimentation to obtain a following with younger kids and hardcore gamers (by which I mean the RPG kind). Robots aren't so fascinating anymore, so Megaman is running on what they've got before.
Megaman ZX was a good bit, though ZX Advent wasn't quite as good, I still liked playing it.
I absolutely love Megaman 9. Hardest game I've played since Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles. It doesn't hold your hand like new age games.
Great comeback, Zaine. Only shows I've got you beat. XD Tonight is the night we become Great! The Stars are what gave us away!

Like I said, STFU
I like megaman but it is really just the same game over and over again, with some slightly different bosses.

And so was Sonic, Mario, Castlevania, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, and Metroid.
Terrible argument there, bud. The same basic formula was kept through many games, and yet here they are... Still grand, because of that first following who adored that formula.

No, Sonic may be similar in it's original orgins, but the story was usually different, the stages were always different.
Megaman had the same number of levels, at least the ones I played did, and like I said, I do like megaman, it is a great series, however it is not better than sonic!

Tonight is the night we become great! The Stars will show us the way! Eight levels is a standard for the robot masters/mavericks, however some games defy that (Megaman Zero 3 had approximately 12 "maverick" bosses). However, the number of stages varies with in between stuff.
You can't tell me Sonic had a different story. Until Sonic adventure came in, it was always stop Eggman. There wasn't any difference.
Recently, their games are still just stop Eggman (excluding utter failures like Sonic Unleashed and A Knight's Tale). It's just there's that little twist at the end, which makes you unite everyone together.
Sonic is wonderful and all, but the best they have is their classics, which they tried to branch away from (like Castlevania on the PlayStation 2 with Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness), which were essentially a game play flop. Megaman tried 3D too in X7. All the side scrollers have, but only a few realized that 3D didn't work for them, and thus returned to side scrolling, and Sonic is just realizing this, too. Tonight is the night we become Great! The Stars are what gave us away!
