"Too comfortable to move." She was relaxed and she merely shifted slightly to be able to see him. Wait, he was apologizing? Okay...what fight was he referring to? "Don't worry about it. It's not a matter of comfort, Galesen, I just didn't see why I needed to tell you. If I had known it was going to bother you so badly, I might have warned you about it. But it seems like it turned out alright for you in the end. You moved on after all." She rested her head backl into its normal position, feeling none too embarassed about being caught in Sevilin's arms. "anything else?"
Zykariel leaned back against the pillows as the numb feeling assailed his whole body. He hated it when his magic got the better of him so much. But he also knew from experience that it would go away, even faster if he could take his mind off of it. "Can I study with you Khai?"
"Never say someone is right just to make them happy. Because lying is bad and mean. Got it." If she were Daddy Kieran, she'd have a journal out and be scribbling away to her heart's content. Instead she just grinned at him. "I won't. Promise." She nibbled on her bottom lip a moment and then asked, "Is there anything you can do to make Kariel feel better, Daddy Kieran? A leaf or stone he could eat or something?"

Sevilin merely gave a bored look to Arthur, indicating that he wouldn't be butting into whatever business that Arthur had come to bring to Zahara, since obviously stated he wanted to just talk to her. He didn't understand why he didn't just ask Zahara to step from the room for a moment. Lovely ability to more or less tune out what he wasn't really supposed to hear.
Malikhai was of course laying across his parent's bed on his stomach, kicking his legs in the air before looking over to his friends and getting himself up, moving to sit next to his friend with his book in his lap. "Sure, what numbers are you at?" After all, they played together more than they studied together, so he wasn't really sure. "I'm doing my numbers today."
"Ah ha. Thinks he's so big and bad." Triumph as she got the drawer open and retrieved her account books and papers, grabbing a pencil and making her way over to the bed to sit on it with the boys. If she was going to do accounts, she was going to be comfortable damn it.
"Good girl." Though a ligth blink at her then a shake of his head. "I'm afraid not. You see, magical born aliments are quite different from physical born ones, not as easy to cure. Like when Fianna gets those nosebleeds that she can't stop." Yes, Fianna was careless herself sometimes and it happened, and at least once it had happened in front of the child.

Arthur shook his head and smiled lightly. "Listen Zahara the information that you told me didn't bother me that much, I came to terms with it and I'm alright with it; whatever you do is your business." But he let it go, he didn't want to say something wrong and get her pissed off at him now does he? Though when she asked him if he needed something else a light bulb went off in his head. "Well Malik..." A slight pause on that. "Malik says that I need to step up on my training a little more...so I was wondering if you are up to it want to go to the arena and fight?" Eh if she didn't want to then really it wouldn't be nothing big, he could just go down there himself and ask a serf to bring out a drow warrior for him to go at for awhile.

Truthfully she knew Arthur would feel the need to justify himself so she let him quite lazily not even really listening. THe last bit of it though, got her attention. She sat up so quickly she knocked her head against Sevilin's chin and blinked. "What?" Maybe she hadn't heard correctly. "You need to step up your training so you want to fight me?" Her head shook again and then she shrugged, "I guess you'll provide me the answer to the question I asked earlier." She pushed herself off the bed and patted her thighs to make sure her daggers were there. "Right now I suppose, hmm?"
He faltered for a moment and then wanted to save face in front of his friend. "I'm probably in the same place you are. Which one are you on?" Yeah, wasn't going to let his friend know that he had some trouble with his studies. Generally the sitting down long enough to do them.
Lark sighed. She had been afraid of that. "I was afraid of that." She remembered the first time she'd seen the blood gushing from her adoptive mother's nose. Lark had been positive she was dying and had gone into hysterics. It had taken a hour and a half of just talking to her to soothe her back into some semblance of normalcy. Not a happy time.

"Yeah Malik says I've been lazy...though I'm only taking a break while he's on vacation...also he says that if I want to go up to Andal in three days I have to prove myself somehow, and since I'm not in the mood to fight him or Isle isn't in any good shape I decided that you would be a good match up as well." He sighed a little bit before he remembered something and looked over at Sevilin. "Hey, I've been meaning to talk to you about my magic lessons...I was wondering as soon as you are ready and able can we start them over again?" Though a look back to Zahara and he nodded lightly. "Yeah right now would be good." He said with a light smile as he crossed his arms light and place them on his chest.

"Don't worry about him. he'll learn to control things in time. Right now, if you want to worry about someone, I'd be worrying about arthur. five to one says he's going to do something overly stupid in an attempt to get my approval before you leave as quickly as possible, Kieran."
A slight grin.
"Like challenging sevilin to a duel or something. So Kieran, how are you enjoying your stay? everything alright so far? ould you like some mroe to drink or eat?"

He made a noise of discomfort as she knocked him in the jaw, making his teeth snap against each other rather harshly. Ow, that wasn't pleasant. But he merely shook his head a little as if that was going to help the feeling and noticed his arms sliding from around her as she got up. Apparently she was going to take Arthur up on his little endeavor...hm, why did he feel a tad annoyed by her going to leave?
Though it didn't show on his face so that the two in the room would pick up on it. He had the feeling she would decline merely because he wasn't top notch and she was playing healer...so be better say something shouldn't he? "You can go...just be careful. Can't have both of us being hurt can we? Though I would appreciate seeing you later before you go to reverie." How the hell did he make a request that sounded like a mere suggestion? He just could.
He showed his friend the page, which was mostly addition of rather large numbers done the long way as well as some multiplication, a little bit of the opposite operations as well, little child like marks on some of the pages inbetween problems where he would work them out. "I'm right here. Mommy said I need to at least know these right now. They get hard sometimes. But mommy and daddy showed me tricks."
"He'll be fine dear." A pet to Lharika's hair, as he turned his attention to Malik for the moment. "He's adamant about going. Though I understand why you are hesitant to let him go...closed planes aren't exactly the best place to send unprepared elves for thier first surface visit. And I told you before, don't mind the whole me being imprisoned thing...they were just making a point, no harm done."
Shaking his head lightly. "Well...maybe he will indeed impress. Real question is are you just teasing him with opportunity or are you really willing to let him go, even if it is just for a visit. Surface air, sun, and such is a wreck on an Underdark body." Pausing a moment with a chuckle. "I don't think Arthur that foolish, Sevilin is not one who takes a challenge lightly." He knew that personally. "But as usual I'm just as excited as can be to be down here, after all it's just another opportunity to get myself some knowledge on an the Underdark. Makes my life easier seeing as I can draw parallels to an extent between here and back home. And yes, everything is quite well and I'm fine. Don't worry, you'd know if I wasn't comfortable here...can't shut my mouth sometimes." Was nice to poke at yourself. "And you, everything is going well here I take it? My daughter not driving you insane yet?" An aversion to Isle a moment though. "You should eat something."
A wave of a hand at Kieran. "I'm good...I'm having fun feeling what's happening to me right now. It's interesting really I could feel all of my fingers in this hand earlier, and now my last two are going numb once more."

She whirled and stared at him for a moment and blinked again. The men in her life just kept right on surprising her, now didn't they. But right before she stopped herself from melting into a puddle at his feet, which was odd because she'd never felt the urge to do that before, her eyes narrowed and she got suspicious. "You're coming with, hotshot." She jerked her thumb at the door and then nodded to Arthur. "Alright, let's see what you've got. Though I have to warn you, if you're goign to Andal, you are going to hate life for the first few weeks. Come on, Sevilin, come watch me as I try to impress you," In a completely uncharacteristic move she winked at him then headed out the door and downstairs then down the second set of stairs into the arena. "So, what sort of fight are we talking here, Arthur?"
Hmm, nope he wasn't quite there yet. Daddy had shown him mulitplication and he had gotten bored in about five minutes. He could do them well enough, he just hated them. "I could help you if you wanted." Daddy said he was good at numbers. Things like that made sense in his head. But if he was good at them, why should he sit down and try to do them for no reason? But for Malikhai, sure he'd help him out. quicker they got his studying done, quicker they could play.

Arthur just looked back and forth between both drow before letting the moment pass, whatever was going on between them he didn't care it was their own thing so he had to stay out of it. Though when Zahara mentioned to him about Andal he grinned a little bit and chuckled. "Thanks for the warning, I had a feeling that my body would screw up once I get there, I've been living down here my own life so the sudden change will affect me alot...what did you got through?" Though he followed her as they headed downstairs then down a another pair of stairs into the large arena. "I dunno really, freestyle I guess...but keep the runes out of it I can't combat against those you know." A small chuckle to that as he checked his left arm to see if his dagger was there underneath the sleeve, yup it was.

And he blinked. What? She wanted him to go with them?...why? Though that certain suspicious look her in eyes, he pretty much figured she didn't trust him to be alone and behave, generally take it easy on himself. And she was probably right to think that way as well. "Alright." Though as she exited the room, he touched two fingers to the besides table, leaving one of those little note runes for his son before following the two out and down to the arena.
He laid his book down on the bed and pointed to a particular problem, going into explaining that he wasn't getting the right answer but he couldn't figure where he was messing up. A little finger pointed to the answer written in flowing script of one of his parents, that he was supposed to be matching. This really should be easy enough for them to work through, and there weren't many to do.
Piper looked over at the boys, giving a light smile as she worked her own numbers...that were bigger, more complicated and none too pleasing. Not to mention she had to figure what to do about Arthur's purchase. A bit of deliberating before she marked him off as paid in full...after all, she would remember that he owed her menial labor and such in the rest of his payment. She was sure she could find something for him to do. Back to recalculating numbers now that that gap was full.

"Everything has been mostly alright. have some new dragonic allies, and the oracle..or former oracle, as I should say, he been hinting that the task piper is obligated to do is coming to pass soon. that I am not thrilled with. more then a few arguments about childrearing, but that's expected considering the differences in culture."
A look at Isle.
"so it's started that. oh yes, I'm going to enjoy making you eat your words tomorrow."
Then back to Kieran.
"The Banshee Aura is a defensive warding and damage shielding of the self. strikes against you cause a great pain and numbness to the appendage that hits you. when properly trained to it's highest ranking of ability, it can do this is waves. usually three to five, each one gets worse than the last. some of the more masochistic Shadowknights used to employ it as a demoralization and interrogation tactic. of course usually they let themselves take a beating to get the proper effect on purpose. Isle is actually a quite accomplished close fighter."
A lean back.
"If arthur can impress me enough to think he can go, I'll let him go. however we both know what's going to happen to him when he gets there due to the dramatic differences in climate. that might be punishment for him enough in some cases."

"I can't do them so you don't have to worry about it." She stretched agilely then raised an eyebrow. Freestyle? That told her nothing. She debated for a moment and then in a split second had her daggers in hand and was circling him, ever ready to move as quickly as she needed to. One second she was before him, the next she was behind him and she kicked out with her boot to knock him in the back of the knees -an age old trick guaranteed to bring anyone down- knocking him on the head with her dagger as he went down. Not hard enough to actually knock him out, just bump him on the head. "Rule number one, always be ready." She stepped back and waited for him to get back up. She didn't have to look to know that Sevilin was sitting in the stands, she could sense him.
Zykariel tilted his head and studied the book. He did some quick math in his head and nodded. That answer was definitely right. The question was how had they gotten to it. He took the pencil and muttered to himself as he tried to remember the rules his father had taught him. It took him a few minutes and quite a bit of erasing but he soon had one that he was pleased with.
"It's your columns. They're confusing you. You keep adding this one here when you should be adding this one. See? You add the seven and five and get twelve, carry the one but you should be adding the seven and two and getting nine, no carrying and bringing down the three. I got mine all messed up before too." He shuddered when he remembered a particularly ulgy session where Daddy had insisted he do it longhand. That had involved lots of erasing, ripped parchment and an annoyed Daddy. "Just gotta make sure they are all in line or it won't come out right."

Delaney was sitting at some fancy restaurant sipping her drink and poking at her food and pushing it around on her plate. She didn't have the heart or the hunger to be eating right now. After all of this time she had wasted on chasing the Rusty fellow around she only managed to figure out that they were related.
Cousin... Well I guess it was good to know that she did have some family left in the world. But still he had no info on her parent's muderer although he dreams sounded way too familiar.
She shrugged at that thought and looks around her. The town seemed to be moving along the same as when she first got here and she didn't know where to go now that her only lead led her nowhere.
A deep sigh came out of her and she decided she might go out to blast something with a bit of fire magic to release some tension.
She finally decided that she wasn't going to eat her food so she paid her bill and left the restaurant. The town folk looking at her with wide eyes as she left her expensive meal uneaten.
"Hmmm... ok... now where am I?" Rusty's facial expression changed from pensive to confused and finally to looking hopeless. He pulled out the map that Delaney give him which contained some directions. The girl had been nice enough to show him where to go and turns out that they were related. They had the same family mark on their lower back.
He looked at the map and frowned out of confusion. He stared at it for a good couple of minutes until he realized it was upside down. The map Delaney had given him was quite confusing. As he was turning it around the wind blew the map out of his hands and sent it flying behind him.
"ARG!" Rusty ran off chasing after his map hoping the wind would die down a little so that he could catch up to it. What happened next was both good and bad. The map hit a tree and got caught in some branches. The only problem was that the branches were about twice has high as he was and he wasn't a good climber even his with cat like appearance.
He let out a sigh while looking up at his map looking pityful.

"Steady rise to climatic events soon to pass...sounds about right, how life should be from time to time until the eventual resolution and return to normalcy for a bit before that rise occurs again." Giving a slight chuckle before a sigh. Though yes of course as Malik went about explaining such a thing, he couldn't help but pull a journal out of his surcoat, jot some things down and then hand it to Lharika...after all she liked to read those and he had added quite a bit to that one since she had left.
"Well, I'm sure that he fully doesn't comprehend as well what he's in for. For those who have never been to the surface I'm sure it's momentary hell. You handled it considerably well till Odaria, and ZAhara was a complete mess...I expect Arthur to be no different. If you are going to let him go, you might as well give me something to give him. He may be a surface elf in look, but living down here all his life I'm sure he can't tolerate surface made treatments to alleviate him a little so that he doesn't think hes' dying." Another little chukle...it was kind of funny when people over reacted to things.
He sighed, deciding to say his part on this whole matter. "What he's asking for is something known as flesh threading...a rune mage technique actually, though on an advanced level. Masters usually do it, but others can too. It all depends on what kind of chance rate a patient wants to take. Basically, a mix of runes and magic take an object, graphs it to said patient to more or less make it function, act, and in some cases look like whatever is replaced. Useful, very, but not done often."
Isle turned a smile over to Malik. "Though your prodding at me being a mess tomorrow is irritating and I'm sure I can get your wife to hit you for it and no doubt will manipulate her against you tomorrow if that's your game...I do appreciate the compliment, after all it's coming from you Malik and that is something. I try to impress." ___ Malikhai blinked at the numbers as his firend solved them out. "Oh...I see." He slapped a hand to his forehead and then shook his head. "That's what I get for going fast and writing sloppy. Now it made sense that mommy and daddy always told him to keep his problems nice and clean and not to write too fast. Thus went on a good half hour of math, his friend helping an in effect studying himself, before he set down the book. "Mommy, I finished these. Am I done?"
See? She knew he would be so scattered that he wouldn't want to study...she barely got a half hour out of him...then again it was his first day...she supposed she could go easy on him this time. But that was it. "Alright, you can be done. What are you two going to do then?" Had to keep track of the children, pausing where she was in her numbers and looking up at the boys. Hm...she was going to need some her time after this week.
Sevilin merely plopped in the stands...hm, he was more or less being babysat wasn't he? Well that wasn't too fun and he had been comfortable where he was. He sunk down in his seat some, propping his feet up on the seat in front of him. Might as well at least get comfortable.

"If I let him go, I'll send something with you. but I want you to let him suffer for a little bit before you give it to him. Relying entirely on sevilin for a right hand. both shield and swordarm, is not a good thing. It'll overwork him and drain him far to quickly. not to mention it'll make him easily known. I need Arthur to be able to act as my sword at least. not to mention a surface breed can get into places far easier than a drow can."
ordering out some wine for everyone but Lharika...she got juice or milk as her preferance.
"Which is why I need him to train hard enough so that he can at least be adaquate to my standard. I need someone who can handle what I expect them to handle, and not me having to question the use of him in any circumstance I might need him. Hell tonight was the first time he's shown a backbone since the incident where I took his damn sword."
