Nintendraw How bad is Charlotte traffic? Is it like downtown/big city traffic? Is it comparable to LA or Sacramento at all? (has little point of reference beyond NorCal) Hm? What's brought this on? I know I complained about the traffic a month or two ago. I've always heard that if you're used to big cities, then Charlotte's just the place. When I went recently, it wasn't bad because I either was following my aunt (who lives there) or avoid the traffic hour/main city/business area. Plus the biggest factor was that there wasn't during a holiday. It wasn't until I rode with my oldest sister into town that I realized how hectic the city can get traffic wise. I have a guy from New Jersey that tries to tell me that Raleigh's traffic is worse but I beg to differ. (Charlotte is #1 largest city in the state, Raleigh is #2) I've personally haven't been out passed the Appalachian mountains, in terms of going west, but I've been to Georgia (once) and gone to PA about twice now. My oldest sister was living in Northern CA for some time at one point... and even drove all the way to there.... =w= so maybe she could answer that one.

I went thread-reading here out of boredom and found that, so I was wondering. NorCal is MUCH nicer traffic-wise than SoCal though, so I should ask my relatives when I visit.

Something was bugging me about Nevada's and Picardy's interaction in the hallway, and I finally found it... They both already introduced themselves in Math (in Chapter 3 of 'Landon's Axis High Story'), shortly after California arrived! Seems both caught a bad case of amnesia. biggrin I have no idea what page it is in the Math thread, but here are the posts, from my records:

Nintendraw Something was bugging me about Nevada's and Picardy's interaction in the hallway, and I finally found it... They both already introduced themselves in Math (in Chapter 3 of 'Landon's Axis High Story'), shortly after California arrived! Seems both caught a bad case of amnesia. biggrin I have no idea what page it is in the Math thread, but here are the posts, from my records: Quote: Picardy grinned at the state. Finally, someone fun. “I’m Picardy, a French province. Sort of the French equivalent of an American state.” Picardy told the boy, guessing by his looks and actions that he must have been one of the states. “Shujinko Bonnefoy’s my name, so would you care to tell me yours?” he asked, winking at the good looking state. ***Marcus was a bit distracted by the extremely attractive French boy. He was lean with brown hair and deep eyes. But most curious were the tiny cat ears perched on his head. Picardy… His name somehow sounded Japanese.
"Pleasure to meet you, Shujinko," he purred, extending a hand in his direction with another charming smile. "The name is Marcus Lloyd of Nevada, the Silver State and Neon City!" He chuckled, flipping a poker chip out of his pants pocket for flamboyant effect. Just then, Landon came flouncing into math, instantly making the class a million times better.
Upon being accused of running off and leaving his bro to the dogs, Marcus laughed. "I couldn't let you keep me up all night with your never-ending stories, bro!" He pushed the golden boy back equally hard, winking to indicate it was just a joke. "You seem to fare quite well with two hours of sleep." Of course Marcus was kidding; he was used to even less sleep and he functioned perfectly fine. It was part of having a city that never sleeps in your state. California, New York, and Illinois were the same way. ***Picardy grinned as he took the state's hand. His first impression of the boy was obviously right. “The pleasure’s all mine.” Picardy told Marcus. His name sounded familiar. He had heard of Nevada, especially its Las Vegas, but there was something else to this boy. His smile grew as it dawned on him. “So you're my roommate!” he said triumphantly. “Guess we'll be seeing a lot more of each other, won't we?” He winked at the state and as another boy approached Marcus, Picardy introduced himself again. “I'm Shujinko,” he said, holding his hand out to Landon. “Who might you be?” ***“You too, bro!” the Californian answered, subtly reminding Nevada that his unexpected disappearance had been part of the reason for his staying up. “I actually slept even less than that, mind you. Did Houdini teach you that trick? You should teach me how to disappear like that! It would sure help when Mexi blows up at us again!” He wondered why Maria didn’t get mad at Nevada or Utah, considering that they had both joined him, New Mex, Arizona, and Texas in seceding for the Union. A French voice, speaking words of introduction, caught his attention, and Landon smoothly redirected his right hand, which had been aiming to playfully shove Marcus back, into a firm shake of Picardy’s proffered hand. “Shujinko, a pleasure,” he said grandly. “Landon’s the name, and California’s my domain. Is there a lot of Japanese influence in your province?” he asked, unable to resist. The cat ears reminded him of something that he couldn’t quite put his finger on… *** Well, Picardy did say he thought he remembered Marcus, also that was like, a few days ago in the RP. 4 I think, but it might be 5.
