"Tell them Malik said good luck with that. and that those two souls were rather informative."
A slight chuckle.
"Fianna in pants. that I'd like to see just for the humor value."
But back upstairs, and herded to the dining room adn kitchen area, taking Malikhai in the kitchen with him while they both worked together just like last time, course it was a larger meal supply so there was more crayfish for Malikhai to deal with.
Broog tried to do what she said. but graceful and smooth were not happening. teaching an ogre graceful and smooth was like trying to teach a badger to fly. But he was trying. without dumping the girl on the floor as his he coudl hold her on one foot with movement.

Again when he had expected it to drop, expected her to take up on an executing statement it seemed that she didn't want to drop. What had he sparked in her at this moment that made her unwilling to turn a blind eye to these things like he often did. And then, she took it a step further and started asking questions as well. Did he believe his own words? "I like to think I do."
He watched her though as she continued on that and seemed to draw conclusions that put her into a world of some sort of hurt...which confused him. It was his turn to give her comfort as he slipped a hand under her chin, raising her head so that he could see her face. "I loved both my brothers, each other were all we had. We knew we could count on one another. We were only half related, but that didn't mean much. And I've never thought that I could protect either of them otherwise, the only way out of that life is to die, and I hate myself for a lot of things, but they can't be changed, they're only distant memories now." He really didn't understand why she was so upset, dare he say for him. It shouldn't upset her like this, this should be something she was used to hearing. "What's wrong?"
"Yes well then Fianna dons pants, that usually means she's entered into a highly paranoid state, or she's going somewhere that she knows a lot of rough and tumble will be occuring. Since she's not going anywhere, and what with all this rune mage targeting, she's a tad bit on the edge right now." Frowning at that, but he really couldn't do much right now...things were a bit complicated. Heading up to the dining room and plopping in a seat...it was nice to relax even if it was just a little bit. But a look to his daughter as Malik and his son wandered off into the kitchen. "Lharika hasn't been any trouble has she?"
Having herded the men back upstairs she set Malikhai down, though still kept hold of his book, allowing the boy to go to his father where he very cutely trailed on the man's heels all the way to the kitchen. It was just so cute to watch them sometimes, really it was. But since the men were cooking, she plopped in the dinning room in her usual seat with Kieran. "No trouble at all. And Isleandra has been finding ample means of entertaining herself. An enjoyable visit as always."
Malikhai was all too glad to help once more and since they had already done this once before he had tried to go about his parts without too much direction from his father, so as to impress the man at what he could learn and keep in his head...nevermind that elves literally could never forget under normal circumstances. Currently he was poking a crayfish with a dry noodle as they had to wait for things to cook. "How come grandpa has to live so far away?"

"Grandpa lives on a different plane than us, and runs his own kingdom there in the mountains. It's bigger than mine right now, so it's a lot of work to manage."
A slight grin at his son.
"he's a busy man..or at least, he is as long as Lateef has him in his sight. Planes of existance are wide and varied, set up like a spider web almost. from the realms of powerful gods, to other places like Andal or Laybrinth or Norrath, where i was born."
getting most of it finished by now, picking up his son and letting him pour the sauce on top of the plates.

"He works too much like you do?" Oh look, there were his mother's words once again coming out of his own mouth. See, he listened even when one thought he wasn't doing so. Little elves were quite observant. But his poking of said seafood stopped when he was picked up and took to carefully pouring sauce just like he had been taught to last time. "Do I ever get to those planes?"

Her eyes were glimmering with tears that she didn't even know were there, didn't even know wanted desperately to be shed. She closed her eyes for a moment, afraid he might see just how vulnerable she'd become in that moment and shook her head. "Even with everything you've been through you still loved someone and I know they loved you in return. Despite what happened and how it all ended. I...I never loved anybody. Not once. Not ever. I hate my sister and I hate my mother and I really hate...well, everyone." Her hands dropped to his shoulders and she shook her head, "Don't you see Sevilin? You've loved someone your whole life and now I know...I'm not capable of it and I'm never going to be." She wanted to throw herself into his arms and cry but she took a deep breath. "I don't want to hurt Zykariel..."
"Mommy? Daddy? What's wrong?" Zykariel was standing in the doorway, a look of confused horror on his face. He rubbed at his eyes and stared at both of them before toddling over and crawling up between them, getting that about to cry face. "Tell me..."
Lharika was trying to instruct Broog but it wasn't going too well. She went to step with him, lost her balance and tumbled down instead. SHe sat up slowly and stared up at him then she began to giggle loudly and shake her head. "I don't think ogres are meant to dance, Broog. But that's okay. Maybe it's just something elves can do. I'll just have to dance with Daddy Kieran, huh?"

"You speak as if I was never one to hate anyone either..." He shook his head lightly at her. "You can't possibly hate everyone, and you love some things. Nym, for example, Faete, your spider." Sure, they were all more pet type things but he had to start somewhere...he was a bit lost on how to go about this..after all, ninety five percent of the things one said to Zahara usually rolled right off of her. He dropped his hands to her own shoulders, forcing her to sit up and look at him. "So you're merely going to admit defeat and believe that you can't?"
Though his attention shifted to the child who had made his attendence to the room known and thusly crawled into the bed between them and more or less demanded that they tell him, or he would cry. And no one liked a crying child. Hm, maybe this could work to his advantage. He brought a hand to rest on the child's head...and told him the truth. "Zahara is upset because she's afraid that she won't ever know how to love you or that she is capable of doing it in the first place, because she's never loved anyone in anyway before."

"Well. not intentionally, and I don't work too much. You're mother just thinks I do."
A slight grin and setting him down and handing him a plate.
"take that to mom, and I'll take the rest to the table. and amyeb when your a little older and the gate works, we'll take you to Andal to spend time with your grandparents. Though I'm not sure, to be honest, if you could travel to Norrath. that might be a little too much strain on you."
So heading out, and placing plates down for Kieran, himself and his son.
"I hope you like it. even Piper finished off a whole plate of it."
Broog frowned a bit adn picked Lharika up.
"Sowwy. I didnt spoil yer partae did I?"
though giggling seemed to be a good sign that he didn't.

"It's not the same and you know it. Being nice to animals doesn't mean anything except that I'm not heartless." She glanced down at the child before her and then her gaze flew up to meet Sevilin's eyes a look of unspeakable horror written all over her face. "No, wait..I..." She shook her head frantically and then snapped her mouth shut, pursing her lips. Why had he just killed the child's hopes?
Zykariel met his father's gaze and rubbed his eyes once again, still coming out of his tranced state. He turned and gazed at his mother for a few moments, then stood up and hugged his father before he slipped off the bed and toddled out of the room.
Her eyes had closed in mortification so she didn't catch the look the little boy gave her. When she opened them again, it wa to see the child walking away and her heart began to sink. Turning to Sevilin very slowly she launched herself at him angrily and hissed, "I told you I didn't want to hurt him. Why would you tell him that?" Her hands became fists and she started hitting him in the chest. "Why?!"
Lharika pushed herself to her feet, brushed herself off and shook her head. "No, silly. You can't spoil a party, it's impossible. As long as you have fun then it's a party!" She retook her chair at the table and said politely, "Would you like anymore tea, Mr. Broog?"

Cahan had never been in so much pain, as he was in that single moment. Kuro had attacked without warning, without provocation, from the obvious use of magic from the other, it was obvious that he was not able to control his actions. Cahan had managed to dodge most of the attack save for the left side of his face, he could smell the burning flesh of his own skin. Cahan left out a massive dragon's roar, forcing his body to heal, which only made the pain worse.

"No I think you do too. When you're not taking a vacation, sometimes I don't even see you before I have to go to bed." And that wasn't cutting it for the child. But he took the plate meant for his mother carefully in both hands so as not to drop it. "Why? Is Norrath too far away?" Always full of questions. But he did toddle out after his father and over to mommy, handing her her plate before over to his own chair, climbing up in it. Hey, he didn't get to try this last time, they had had regular spaghetti. But Malikhai ate anything that wasn't purple right now, so he was ready to try it.
Piper pat her son on the head as she had taken her plate from him with a smile, setting it down on the table in front of her. A chuckle and she rolled her eyes. "Yes he's just so proud of the fact that he got me to eat a whole plate of food without the 'I'm pregnant' clause. Though it is rather good." Hey even she would admit that she would actually probably eat all of it because she liked it.
"You know me, try everything once and just hope it only makes me violently ill instead of killing me." Giving a chuckle at that...oh Kieran, one in a million that was for sure. But food being prepared by a drow and out of sight was nothing for him, thus he dug into the dish. Hey he was indeed hungry. Though a telepathic message to Lharika, because the father in him never quit. "There's lunch down here, and you know you shouldn't fill up on cookies and such."
The lack of the child's crying spoke volumes of course to Sevilin, and the way he left gave indication as well. The child wasn't upset and most likely was working something out in that little head of his. He was smart after all. Though Sevilin didn't get much time to think on the matter too long as suddenly he found his person under attack...and that's what he got for dropping his guard. He grabbed her wrists to stop her strikes.
"Don't you think leading him on would be hurting him more than telling him the truth? Do you think that telling him you know how to do it and can do it is better than merely pretending to know and he thinks you just do it differently and can't be taught or anything of that nature?" Though that ended in a series of coughs, seeing as his voice had raised to get his point across...or something of that nature.

"Yes! No! I don't know..." She tried to fight him for a moment and then let her whole body lean towards him and fall against his chest, shaking her head wildly. "I didn't want him to know that. Ever..."
Zykariel walked back into his room and climbed up onto his bed, pulling Rawr out from the tangle of sheets that he'd been lying in. Tucking the dragon into the crook of his arm, he toddled his way back into the room his parents were occupying, also his daddy's room and climbed up onto the bed.
He stood and tapped his mother on the shoulder, waiting for her to turn before he set Rawr in her lap. "I used to be sad because you didn't have enough love to go around. You loved Nym and your horses but not me. So, since you can't love elves 'cause you don't know how, you can love Rawr instead." Kariel smiled impishly. "Then all the love that you give to him, he'll turn around and give to me. So see, you can love me just in a different way and then if you want to you can learn how to love me directly and we won't have to worry about Rawr giving it to me anymore."
Zahara had turned very slowly so that Sevilin was presented with her back and she lightly stroked the stuffed dragon her son had set in her lap. Picking the stuffed animal up, she fingered his worn wings and her whole body sagged back against Sevilin's chest. She didn't know what to say so she just nodded dumbly. "...okay..."
Lharika sat up a little straighter a moment later and giggled. "I haven't had any cookies." But her tummy grumbled and she grinned at Broog. "Thanks for coming Mr. Broog. My Daddy Kieran wants me so I gotta go but you can stay and have some more tea and biscuits if you like. Bye Mr. Broog." Bobbing a polite curtsey, she skipped out and headed for the dining room, giggling as she slipped into a chair next to the moon elf. "Silly Daddy Kieran, at tea parties they're called biscuits."

Leaf fended off whatever attacks came her way until the creature turned to ash. The two elves were prooving to be a powerful dueo, whether from instinct or good training. She sheathed her sword and followed Fin. "Have you encountered such creatures before?"
The stones clicked beneath her boots, the walls around them were coloured a dark brown, almost red, and tapisties hung from the walls. The red colours were making her nervous, as she supposed was probably their intention.
"Then keep pulling, I'm happy in the illusion." SHe laughed. "Cheated? Hardly, I was simply," she rolled a wrist "using the resorces available to me. Although I admit, sometimes you were hard to see."
She patted his thigh. "Both. But that's not entirely a bad thing.
"More powerful than Orko?" She gave the boy a bewildered look, knowing he'd pried that reaction out of her. "Of course I'm not, and you well know that."
Aella wasn't likeing this 'hunter' stuff. "Being a hunter sounds so savage..." Then she cringed. "Carefull..."

"Nope. Never. I'm amazed that we lived." Fin replied to Leaf's question. Walking along side Leaf, Fin commented on the atmosphere. "Its like the decore is trying to tell us that it is hot in here..." NOt much happened at that moment, as it seems no one expected uninvited guests to get passed the Fire Creature.
Kimmuriel's disposition revealed nothing unfamiliar to Meilikki at that moment, just that subtle hint that he was a basterd preparing to destroy the universe like when he was 'alive'. "Like a certain stone that kept running away from you."
Tarathiel laughed, "Silly Onxy-sans." He poked Onyx's nose with his own finger. His attention was easily drawn back into Aella, as he was rather fond of her.
"Orko-sans is afraid of his own shadow," General paranoia is rather hard for a child to truly understand, "So, I don't think I want to be like him. Onyx-sans choice seems to displease Aella... So I think I am going to have to go another path." Odd, didn't Aella say that Tarathiel should choose to be a Ranger, but a Ranger was a Hunter wasn't he? The child pondered that for a moment, but decided that he would not ask at this time. He had a long time to chose which career to follow. "I know I like to play with swords, and I know I like to move around alot... I don't think I want to learn too much magic, and I do not really feel like leaving home. So, I am just going to find something that fits into all that. Maybe Cedric-Sensei's books have someone I can model myself after. Orko-sans always says 'Archetypes make everyday decisions all that much easier to make'..." The boy paused, why did Orko say that to him agian?

He sighed as she relaxed. Well...that was good. He didn't have the drive to fend her off too much, evidence of that found in his coughing. But his attention turned again as he had released Zahara to his son who came in and presented the woman with a solution. "That's a smart idea son." Reaching out and petting through the child's hair. Yup, he had himself a smart boy. Though still as always he was worried about that transference through Rawr...but he assumed the child would grow out of it soon enough. His attention turned back to Zahara as she leaned back against him and he watched her a moment.

A little snort to Aella.
"no more or less savage then certain other people killing for fun or sport, and no less noble that people in charge of other sending them to die so they can accumulate more wealth and land."
A slight grin.
"A hunter uses all the parts of prey. nothing is wasted. bones and sinew make thread and furniture. skin can be made into leather for furniture as well or clothing. feathers to make arrow flights or stuff pillows. scales, teeth, claws all make jewelry many internal organs are good to eat or make good storage containers. fat for candles when properly rendered. hooves can make glue...and so on."
Broog sat down and probably finished off what was left in about two minutes. then...back down to the basement to continue his work. Parites were..interesting. something to talk to Tremor about.
Malik sat down for the meal, and smirked at his son.
"You and your mother both, I swear. But alright. I promise to take breaks so you get to see me more often. I don't have a Lateef you know to handle work for me or help with it."
