Onyx growled lightly.

"Since Simon came to fidn his daughter. he made us amulets to help. he gave moonstone a hawk and a snake, and myself a snake and a monkey. and he's been making wisecracks since."

Onyx crossed his arms, and snorted lightly.

"Oh indeed. several bumpy rides but not without thier good times. but she can be difficult at times. about the onyl tiem she does go rushing headfirst is when an ogre is in sight. she has an aversion to those. oh and trolls. those too."

Upon hearing what Moonstone smacked him in the back of the head. Only lightly so as to not make his head hurt more then it already did. "That wasn't very nice, my dear Moonstone. Don't you know that the mokey is a very useful guide. smart and wise is the monkey limber and fast. A great hunter, and one who is strong-willed as well." Esmeralda ranted slightly as he removed her hand from atop the white Vah, "I think that Simone chooce well, and I cannot help but love the snake he choose." She commented.

"I don't tihnk I did that....i've never done it before..."

Moonstone tried to help get him to his feet, but he wasn't much use He stumbled, fella few times, by the time they got hims standing he was pretty mcuh elaning all of his weight onher, which he did not enjoy. "Sorry."

"making fun of his...that doesn't sound liek me at all." He shook his head. "They were a gift from Bode's father, the spirit guids I mean."

Dimitri's greedy little eyes followed every move that map made, and he only got a feelting glimps of it's authenticity before it was wisked away from view.

"The staff is rather valuable," he lied, "But I am willing to trade for this. I have discussed it at length with my advisors," another lie, "and we have decide the staff expandable."

He motioned to the dwarf to put the staff on the floor, in the middle of the two parties. The dwarf did not see him. Annoyed, Dimitri order one of the Crimson to take it, and do as instructed before. The gaurd pried the staff out of the dwarfs hand with some difficulty, but he two, did not finish the instructions.

The dwarf had a very disappionted look in his face, the diffused glow that had first illuminated his eyes and cheeks gone. Angry now. More orders. To men, looking like commanders of some sort with the number of badges and meddles, pushed the Crimson gaurd to the center of the two parties, and without touchign the staff, pried the gaurds fingers from it, letting the stick clatter to the floor. Again, an immense disappointment seemed to fill the gaurds eyes.

"There you are. Take it, leave the map."

The staff was not being malicious in any way to it's holders, simply acting out of neccesity. As a defense mechanism, it filled the holder with an intense pleasure boardering on orgasmic. So strong the feeling that it rendered most immoble, therefore only those with the right kinds of powers could actually use the staff. It was said amoung whispers that for those that had recently held the staff, the engagment of intercourse was an extreme disappiontment.

Kieran arched an eyebrow. "Really now? Aversion? And here I was thinking that she didn't want to miss out on anything, no matter how...unsavory...that something could be." Oh yes, he knew they were picking at her, but it was all in good fun, so no harm in that. A slight chuckle as well, running a hand through his hair idly.

She contemplated hurling that fork at him again. Why did he have to mention that too? Malik knew why she was, dare she think it, afraid of certain things. But she was more or less slightly pouting at this point. Pushing herself from the chair she walked over to Kieran and snatched the extra scimitar he had off his person and gave them both a sharp look. "I'll be practicing..." Which lead to her own version of fleeing the room and going to work out some tension.

He watched after her a moment before his eyes slid back to Malik. "Hm, think she's a bit upset."

"I agree. and I know why. As for her aversion..well..Ogres and Trolls in Neriak are more or less..combat slaves. and not very bright at all. treted poorly. and as such are a bit...touchy..around other more important 'slaves'."

there. easily covered and away from her secret.

"a few near misses from various destructive implements makes one wary I guess. Think one of us..or both of us..should go and make sure she doesn't hurt herself with your nice shiny scimitar?"

The drow elf seemingly skippedto the staff and piced it up in one hand and tossed the map on the floor. He smiled and bowed agian and skipped out of the room, mid skip, a glob formed and he vanished again.

Tarathiel was standing on his ship holding the weapon, and almost through it into the lake. How he hated these types of weapons, ones that held powerful enchantments that caused these kinds of problems. Tarathiel wondered if he should just destroy the thing, but he had two and a half promises to keep.

"Send for... The girl slave." He told the wizard near him, "I would like her to be here now."

The drow shook his head and teleported to the location where the girl was, he merely shook his head and tried to talk to her in drow. A spell later, he was making sense. "The Captain wishes to see you, you are too come with me now." IT was an order given to a slave, but he was drow and that could not be helped. "He has your stick."

Kieran nodded to Malik, crossing his arms lightly over his chest. "I see. Though I wouldn't put it past her...she was quite the sensitive child in some ways. Some habits just don't like to let go. And you're right...too many attempts on one's life and you do tend to get defensive from mere mentioning of what makes you that way." Then another look to Malik, giving a blink to him much in the fashion Piper might have done herself. "That's a matter of opinion.Who can handle her better when she's upset, me or you?" No he was being serious. It had been years since he saw his daughter...the last temper of hers he faced she was only hip high.

Piper was indeed in the arena already, working out her anger by tearing apart the poor air with that scimitar. At least she was actually following learned moves and thus practicing as opposed to just swinging at air to be doing so. Did he have to do that? Did he have to make her father think that there might be something wrong? Kieran was far from stupid, she knew that and even when he knew things he wouldn't say them. Malik had to just keep giving him a reason to think on her. And he was doing it on purpose too.

Dimitri veritabley swooped on the map, laughing. Quickly, he scanned it, and handed it to Genereal Caraway. "There's your map. Now get D'vinn."

The ships had set sail an hour alter.

Tanundra lay on a cliff ledge overlook the Tiumverate Fortrass. This was taking much to long to his liking, and frankly he was anctious to go bakc to his mistress. She did not ahve any freinds, she must be terribly lonely by now. As much as he did not always enjoy being the gaurdian of the Oracles, he liked Meilikki. Perhaps because she herself had treated him as a trusted equal, and not a pet. He heaved a great sigh, and continued watching for the ships he was supposed to help destroy.

Whirlwind blinked. "He has it?" To be honest, she had never expected to get the staff. He nodded her concent, and the wizard took them back to ship. She rolled her eys. Drow she knew, would always treat her as a slave.

Once on the ship, she found Tarathiel easily. She remebered though, that she was slightly annoyed that she hadn't had a chance to take out Dimitri. Sight of the staff helped to damper some of that annoyance. She bowed quickly at the waist. "You called, Captain?"

"I would say in this case...both of us. or me first, and you to help if she starts tryign to disembowel me."

A slight chuckle, getting up and heading to the arena to calm down the tempest that was Piper...though watching a little while as hse practiced. by god she actually was learning to use that sword and rather nicely too.

"Wanna talk, Piper?"

PostPosted: Sat Oct 01, 2005 8:32 pm

Kieran merely gave a chuckle. "Right, I won't let her disembowel you. I'll wait ten minutes and if I think it's too eerily quiet I'll come to make sure she doesn't turn your entrails into extrails." Give Malik first shot at her...besides he was kind of interested in seeing if Malik actually had the patience to tame an angry Piper. Most didn't.

Didn't even look at him, only kept up her footing and sword strokes, obviously trying to ignore that he was there and retain her anger. She knew all to well that he could casually make it go away. Or upset her more, whichever came first. "I don't know, you wanna talk to my father about something in particular. Now would be a good time to do so since I'm not in hearing distance..." And as ever, she was overly sensitive about the whole ear thing.

"Take it, it is yours." The captain aved at the staff, "The Old Women said she wanted it kept safe, so I now hand that task to you..." Tarathiel turned his eyes towards Aella, something like concern appeared in his orbs. "Be warned, it might be cursed."

As the ships began to set sail, suddenly they became under attack. The ships set out and a few feet away from the docks, the sound of yelping could be heard. The first ship was taken rather quickly and bloodily, as the crew and soldiers abord were caught completely by surprise. The drow war party appeared right beside the Navigator, and the slaughter began...

From the sides of the ships, little lizard like kobolds stormed the decks, riding lizardish mounts, some even swiming. The creatures rolled over the rails and attacked anything that was not a kobold. Within moments the sounds of the fighting could be heard by the other ships, and the fires that were started could be seen... The wieght of the combined infintry almost sank the ship, so many people worked at pushing the kobolds off the vessel and throwing much of the unecessary weight over bord. Unfortunately for those on the first ship, several non drow and kobolds appeared amongst the enemy ranks. The lizard warrior cut through the ranks with the ease of an arrow through empty air, the sound of the centaur could be heard over the rucous. The ship was in chaos...

The lead ship was less lucky. A reef had been errected to create a natural barrier. The ship took several hits and started to take on water quickly, a nearby ship hit it as well. The third ship in line seemed to start sinking for no reason, but a large tail could be seen near the surface of the water. Several of the other ships started burning for no reason, Fireballs rainging down upon them from nowhere.

Within the city, several of the most trusted nobles houses became under attack, a few contingents of Drow worked devilishly thorugh the houses, killing only the older males, and setting fire to many of the furnishings before moving into the next selected target.

The walls seemed no better off. As if a horrible earthquack shook the very foundations of the city, the walls simply collapsed in a straight line... A line that was once the tunnel a few renegade dwarves dug to infultrate the palace. WIth a little gunpowder, and a little help from Earth Mother, the tunnels acted as a stress point to collapse a line into the city... A few buildings were colateral damage, but the walls suffered the most. Within moments, the first three break points were fortified by very enraged dwarves. The point closest to the castle had the added benefit of a minotaur.

More kobolds charged into the city from the caves dug under the docks to re-enforce the hold points. Tames leading the charge on the ship, Jin was left to command the small army. A job he did not relish in...

"When you are ready, we should rejoin Dagger and Jiscal at the rally point."

She paid the warning little head, but took the staff as soon as it was offered. That strange look filled her eyes, and it seemed for a moment that she had not even heard Tarathiels words. Then she shook her head, and yelled at the staff. "Hey! Stop that!" But agian, she grew calm and placid. Breaking the hold, she growled. "When I say 'stop it, I mean 'stop it!'" She shook the staff until the ringing of the bells could be heard out over the water.

She stopped, regained her compser, tightned her top knot. "It will behave itself now. Won't it?" She gave the staff a threatening look. The bells jingled, as if in response. "Good."

She could hear then what sounded like war. An almost child-like smile spread across her face. She grabbed Tarathiel's hand, eager to get going. "I'll take us over then," a swirl of wind and water, and they were gone.

Dagger sat with the other disedents and waiting for the signal, though the battle had begun not too long before. She was upset with Tarathiel's choice in not striking at the king first, but she could not disagree. She was a half elf, fifty years old, and very wise with the world. Her father had bastered her with an elf, though she was not sure that her father had know... He was... proud to say the least.

Dagger had spent the last twenty years prepairing for this day, she was working in secret, always learning who was loyal and who was not, until this year, when Tarathiel had returned swaring the downfall of Dimitri. The sound never sounded more sweet... She sighed, she wasted her charms on Tarathiel, and felt a great burning desire for the rogue, but she knew that he would never allow her to gain any control in a relationship.

Jiscal wathed the fires from the window, he felt ashamed to be part of this rebellion, but at least he would be king at the end, and when he was, he would have power... Real power... And people would want to use that power... He smiled, to be king in a land that was very dark was pleasing to him. He had never been overly greedy in the past, he had never wanted anything, but still the thought of ruling tingled his mind...

Diamond waited by the door, wearing his mail and his sword, gifts from dwarven allies who knew the secrets of the earth and the power of metals... The common guards would only be armed with wooden staves, and a sword would certainly make short work of them... He was pleased with the world today, though, he could not remeber how he got here... Like the memories were not his own.

Orko sat in the corner and waited, wishing he was back on the ship searching through the extensive collection of magics that they had stollen from the tower. The wizard served Tarathiel becaue Tarathiel promised him magics of great power... So far, he had not been disappointed, but the tower did not offer him anything new... It was as if he had already learned all these spells...

"Where is the Captain..." Jiscal said aloud, hoping that maybe Orko would know.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 01, 2005 9:06 pm

A wind rose in the room where Diamond, Jiscal, Dagger, and Orko waited. A lovely little wind devil, scatering paper, clothing, whatever was movable. As the wind circled, two figures slowly seemed to be stitiched together, became matter. Then they were whole, and the wind died. Aella put one hand to her forehead, dizzy. "Sorry, not one of my smoother landings."

The little trick was taxing however, using up alot of strength and mind power. Put Aella was not planning on using the staff to kill people, she figured it was a fair trade to get her hear quickly.

"Oh come now, A little teasing with a hidden subject is hardly wanting to talk about it. but you shoudl tell him about you injury. he's your father after all. it's not like he'd disown you over it. there shouldn't be secrets between family. Mine kept Cymarron's power a secret, and because of it, no one had a chance to stop my father from being overly stupid and getting himself killed. and because no one but him knew what he coudl do, thirteen family lines got ripped to shreds unable to defend themselves at all."

He watched her though, and admired her footwork.

"A tad slow on our back swings."

and back to talking.

"And I covered for it nice and cozy in teh dinging room. he thinks your aversion is because you got assaulted one to many times by touchy ogres and troll gladitorial slaves in Neriak."
