And I quote:
Zin Okami:
..Gail entered the morgue, wheeling a cloth covered cart. "William, are you sure about this? It seems so... disrespectful."
"He was a Hunter. He knew the risks, and just because he's dead doesn't mean that he can't still serve the cause. You knew that things like this could start happening once I opened up the Hunters to non-humans."
"But Will..."
His fist slammed down on a nearby table. "DAMNIT, GAIL! I KNOW! ...Look, I know what you're saying, and I understand, I really do. But face facts. Charles is dead, and we've got a couple of vampires to feed. Now I'm giving you an order. Drain him."
".....May God have mercy on your soul for all you do for the greater good, Will."
"I sometimes doubt that even He can have mercy on me, Gail. Now do it."
Gail nodded and pushed back the cloth on the cart, revealing it to be a blood collection machine. This one had a pump, so that it could drain a dead body of it's blood. Ever since vampires had started volunteering for duty as Hunters, William had made sure to have a steady supply of medical blood packets to help keep them fed. Many of the Hunters and staff around here donated blood whenever they could, but with the need for both transfusions and occasional feedings for the vampire Hunters they could always use a few extra pints. Charles was dead, but his blood was not going to be "wasted". As Gail started the machine, Will stared at Charles for a long time, only one thought in his mind. God have mercy on me, what have I become? Have I fought monsters for so long that I'm becoming like them? God... Charles... forgive me.
