((oh foo))
A few hours later and Terryn was in her nightgown, sitting on Marcus's bed and staring at the picture again. There was some mystery surrounding it and she wanted to know what it was.

Marcus rubbed at his eyes, and he looked curiously up at Terryn. "What are you looking at?" he asked, stifling a yawn.

Terryn spun her head around, slightly startled since she had been rather entranced. "Just this painting. It is very nice. Your grandmother says all of your brothers have the same one in their room."

Marcus nodded slowly. "For once you can believe her, then," he said, looking at the picture. It was nice. He hadn't paid it very much attention before. "You two were talking about it?"

Terryn nodded as she went back to studying the picture. "Is there something special about it? Why do you all have one?"

Marcus smiled. "When I was fourteen, and my eldest brother eighteen, we..." He smiled wider now. "Well, it seems childish now, but we formed an Order. We found and commissioned an artist to paint five of these paintings, and we hung them up, feeling tremendously mature and noble." He tugged at Terryn's hand. "That's all there is to it. Let us sleep now."

Terryn canted her head to the side, looking at the painting again for a moment before letting Marcus tug her down onto the bed. She smiled at him peacefully, make herself comfortable in his arms. "I'm so glad you're back. It's been too long."

Marcus nodded his assent, his eyes already shut. "I have no plans to leave any time soon," he confirmed sleepily, beginning to drift off.

"I would hope not." Terryn closed her eyes as a small , tired smile lit her face. "I must say, though, I am surprised your grandmother is so inclined to let us sleep in the same bed."

Terryn nodded and yawned as she felt her energy leave her. "I love you, Marcus." It sounded like such an awfully cliched sentence to her, but she couldn't quite help herself.

Marcus smiled, and he held Terryn tighter. "And I you." Again, he wondered if right now really was too soon to propose, and he was suddenly seized by curiousity. "Terryn? What else did my grandmother speak to you about?"

"What else?" Terryn hadn't really comprehended the question, as she thought she was dreaming it in her delusional state. "Nightgowns I think. And how she knows we have been intimate."

Marcus laughed a little bit. "Of course. She would know, too." He was semi-relieved that the Duchess hadn't questioned Terryn about marriage, but he would have liked to know what Terryn thought, after all. "Your father knows that I went to prison."

At this, Terryn's eyes snapped open. "But...but how? Did you tell him?" She was a little confused as to why Marcus would divulge this sort of information to her protective father.
