Malik spun his blade around when she shifted out of visual sight. well well...when did surface breeds learn that trick with swordplay. usually that was reserved for mage types.

But a grin, standing perfectly still. blade held is a salute manner, eyes barely twitching in direction once in a while. but he was listening. the shift of sand, the sound of breath or air being cut.

"Well, as many say, Piper is a pale Tier'dal. so she counts."

Before the whole fight between Isle and Malik started he looked down at Piper and smiled a little. "Well Piper I would pay you the money, through chores or anything that you ask me to do remember? I gave you most of my steel when I had to give you the down payment so we both have to find a way to get you the rest of what I owe." And so the little bout went on and both he and Piper watched as Isle and Malik went at each other, and the elf wanted to see Isle beat the damn drow, it would put him in his place for a change. Though when she disappeared he looked at Piper and asked. "How did she do that?"

Piper rolled her eyes. "That's not why you're scared of me and you know it." Giving a giggle and leaning back in her seat some, pulling a cinnamon stick from her pocket and gnawing on it...which seemed to get her child's attention and thus he wanted a piece because yes he even mimcked his mother. Breaking her stick in half she handed him half and giggle in amusement as he took to chewing on it much like she usually did, though his eyes glued back to the arena to watch as he sat on his mother's lap. But her attention turned to Arthur. "I can't very well get and keep your attention when you're running around with my practical sister now can I?" Though knowing Piper she was thinking up something for Arthur to do that he probably wouldn't like too much. Not that she was trying to be mean, but you know...horses didn't come cheap. But she didn't seem phased with what Isle has done, though she was amused to Malik and Arthur's obvious surprise. "Rainsong trickery."

How did she do it? She had control of the very air they breathed, that was how. Weather created in air, easily shiftable conditions by the moisture always present in air. This particular notion of her family's magery? It worked a bit like a veil of mist that acted as a mirror and gave no indication to where someone was. She hadn't really gone anywhere...more of was in a literal air pocket of sorts.

A pocket which she broke with toss of her dagger, the metal again giving that apperance of actually slicing the air as it made a path toward Malik. Of course her little moment of hiding over, she followed up with her sword. Malik wanted a bit of a run and he would get one and thus a taste of his won medicine. A swipe or two with her sword, and gone again, then repeating once more. See how annoying it was Malik. Though she took a break from the trick right in front of him, and batted her eyes at him. "I can do that too."

She watched him adn shook her head. "Some people just have a gift for it I suppose. You, are not one of them. But you can clean better than anyone else I know. Strengths, to each his own and all that." She wandered over to the sink and began to wash up the dishes that they had used to make the cookies.

"Daddy, don't poke anything that still hurts, okay?" He was as thrilled as any child could be seeing as he had his Mommy now and his Daddy was in the same room and there was no yelling or fighting going on. "Mommy healed my arm and my head doesn't hurt no more..."

Arthur chuckled a little and a small blush appeared on his face, so he sat down beside the elf and trained his eyes on the arena. "Well you obtain as much command, or maybe even more, than Malik does so if you call for me I would come, after all I rather pay my debt than to keep it going on forever." He said with a small smile on him as he kept an eye on Malik, he wanted to see what Isle would do next. "Of course it is, her family 's magic abilities are really good." Hey its true he really liked her abilities because to him they were better than the normal necromancy he sees around here form time to time. Though when Isle appeared his grin lightly then watched as she continued on attack then disappearing then doing it again. "A good move she has there..." He said with a small chuckle as he rested back in his seat.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 13, 2007 5:09 pm

"Sure." To him it was nothing to be proud of. He did after all know exactly why he cleaned. He did it because he had control over his enviroment, how things existed aroudn him and the state they were kept in. Sure, he could only control the inanimate, but that was good for him. Still knowing that reason made it nothing to be proud of when it was really examined horribly close.

But his attention turned to his son for the moment. "I'm not poking anything." Indeed merely brushing his fingers through the child's hair lightly and such, checking out his arm to make sure to looked normal. "Did she? That's good. I suppose you'll be fine by tomorrow then and you can go back to rough housing and what not. Just no more falling, okay?"

"I should throw you into that arena with the both of them for my own amusement and call it a piece of your payment. Don't tempt me." But a look over to him and a little chuckle. "Arthur, you haven't even witnessed the beginnings of her family's magic." Lateef and Caprice both had some fnatastic magic up their sleeves, and both had studied the same brand of magic. Of coure Lateef's was a bit better, Rainsongs had been doing that for a millenium or two. "Hard move to learn...her whole magic school is hard."

her dagger was flat out caught between his fingers, and tossed aside, and her strikes blocked with practiced ease from his standing position. He'd fought his own before in training. he knew how to handle shadowstepping. though not as long lasting or concealing as Isle's thing.

But a smirk at her batting her eyes.

"Do you want me to start toying with all that I can do?"

Before he went offensive again, keeping a hard pressing full assault to her, even once using a shift to kick up her previously tossed dagger into the air and into his hand, and using it to poke at her underneath and overtop of his own blade.

"And I'm being nice already by not playing with Malvolence."

The elf blinked a few times and turned his head to Piper, raising her an eyebrow as he watched her saying that she throw him in there as a part of her payment. "right, don't give any ideas got it." A small smile appeared across the elf's face as Piper chuckled and then so did he. "I have a feeling that her magic extends to just making her sword appear after playing a few notes on her flute." Another chuckle to that and he sighed a little the fight was going on well and the little chat between him and Piper was going along fine. "It looks really hard...would be good to learn anyway." Though he looked at the arena and smiled lightly. "It feels good to sit on the other side and watch for a change, seeing other people fight is a good way to past the time."

She kept an eye on those cookies though she did keep glancing back over to the boys. It was...difficult. Before she had been the outsider looking in, now she was half in and half out. She had Zykariel but it was seperate, they weren't one unified group by any stretch of the imagination. But yet they were together, it was one confusing bundle, wasn't it?

"Good, I hate it when you poke." He sat there and let his father touch and brush as he wanted to then shoved his hand away. "No more, I promise." Before lifting his hand and fixing the hair that his father had messed up. He looked between his parents and then tilted his head up at his father. "Did you tell Mommy about your problem?"

"Didn't you know you're not supposed to toy with a lady? We get mean. Giving him a giggle before ducking under his blade as he started at her again. Though she let him push her back she more or less took to shadowing his moves to a point. A frown as he used her own dagger, hey that was hers. And on one of those jobs of his she grabbed it by the blade and pulled it from his hand, flipping the dagger and catching it in a now bloody palm. "That would be mine thank you very much Malik."

Duely sheathing it in the inside of her boot, much like Piper wore hers. "What, think we're not playing fair? alright then." Her sword was then sheathed and she sunk into a defensive hand to hand combat stance of sorts, though any magic sensing creature could feel the energy radiating off of her. A little smirk to Malik. "A little different form of combat perhaps?"

"You men and fighting." Taking a moment to pet at her sons hair as he was still entrapped in watching what was going on. She should be dragging him off to do his general studies, but she supposed she could cut him a break and let him watch Malik. Triple colored eyes turned to Arthur again. "Yes it does extend there. Rainsong magic is quite the impressive thing. Can do a lot of things with it. Sometimes it's a grand bluffing tool as well. Possibilities abound." Shrugging her shoulder's lightly. "Terribly hard to learn...I don't think you have the attention span for it."

"You hate it when I poke? Like this?" Poking the boy in the nose. "Or like this?" Poking him in the arm and then in the side. "Like that right?" Aw look, Sevilin did have a playful childish side to him. Though he blinked at his son then, before raising an eyebrow and looking to Zahara over his shoulder and then he looked back to his son. Children said the most interesting things didn't they? "What problem of mine?"

"What? It's a good thing to watch as long as I'm not the one watching, though when someone use to challenge one of my human family members we all gathered to watch them fight." Eh give her a little reason to why he liked watching, it was nothing big. Though he looked at her when she looked at him and nodded a little. "Well I am impressed by their magic abilities, all the possibilities that come along with it are really good. She must be happy to have magic like that." Though he put his hand on his heart and smiled a little. "Ouch that hurt Piper, I think I could learn, after all elves have good memory I just gotta commit myself to learning."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 13, 2007 6:24 pm

"Yes!" He wrinkled his nose and hten began to giggle and squirm. "Daddy! Stop it!" Of course he sat up straight and stopped giggling before crossing his arms over his sides just in case his father decided to try again. "The red stuff you keep coughing up. I think it's blood. Is it blood Daddy?"

Zahara turned very slowly, pausing in the middle of drying a bowl, and looked at Sevilin. "You're coughing up blood? And you didn't think I needed to know this because...?" Her arms crossed and her foot began to tap. She wanted to wring his neck. How dare he not tell her something as important as that when she was his healer. She was the damn best healer in Twilight as far as she was concerned and she'd been taking care of him for the past few days.

"Uh oh...you two aren't going to start fighting are you? If I had known that I never would have said anything..." He frowned and shook his head. "Don't fight! Don't fight! don't fight!"

"Sure, you can learn to do that in five years and I can be a master rune mage too." A look over to him again, smoothing a wrinkle out of the overly large shirt for her she had stolen from Malik's closet this morning. "Some things cannot be learned in a reasonable amount of time and honestly Arthur, you're much too into play right now at this point in your life. Malik has to force you to train and Sevilin has all but washed his hands." Giving a little shrug. "Not trying to be mean, but to borrow a saying form your humans, your eyes are bigger than your stomach so to speak in this case."

Oh that...boy were children observant now weren't they? And he cleared his throat, indeed swallowing some blood with the action. "It's...blood that's not important." No need to lie or alarm the child, so that answer was given to him. But he all but cringed when he heard that healer voice Zahara got and that distinct tapping sound of her foot. So a look to her and a casual shrug. "My throat is all but raw, and I no doubt got poison in my lungs. It's bound to happen...nothing to worry about." Of course to him it was nothing to worry about but he lacked the healer perspective.

But at the child's sudden outburst and distress his attention turned back to him. Slipping his hands under the child's arms, he picked him up before drawing him close and supporting him with one arm under his bottome and the other on she back. "Shhh, it's alright. We're not fighting."

She immediately shut up when Zykariel got upset and she longed to go over to him and comfort him but Sevilin was taking care of it now and she was rather new to this whole mothering thing. She turned back to her dishes and chose not to say another word. Pulling the fnished cookies out of the over, she set them on the stove to cool. Piper. She needed to talk to Piper. Quietly, she left the kitchen and headed back downstairs to the arena. Look at that, Malik and Isle were fighting.

Zykariel shook his head and lay it against his father's chest. "I hate it when you two fight. So much..." He started to cry and hold his tummy then whimpered. "Daddy...my tummy hurts..."

Malik chuckled lightly, and shook his head.

"Hand to hand, eh? Oh I'm really begining to like you."

So he sheathed Ebony, and tok it off his belt and set it aside, before there was a screaming sound and a wave of torured faces flowing over him that faded into his clothing.

"Ladies first."

Broog heard all the yelling, and lumbered himself up off his stool and made his way toward where the yelling was coming from, and found Lharika.

"Yous called fer Broog?"
