the conjuror looked at the young elf and shook his head.

"Unfortunately, not in that case. see an illusionist attacks the mind, and our pets have no real minds of thier own. however, we can send them back from where they came if they get stolen like that, making them useless to the one stealing."

Then a grin.

"Would you like to try an air pet? it's like your earth pet, but you want to summon the winds to you into a form. Fire is the same..water is more advanced."

the Illusionist looked back at Malikhai.

"good. it is always good to approach with caution. arrogance can often be the undoing of even a powerful spellcaster. as for throwing rocks..there's a fun spell I can teach you later on. but I think I'll show you one more thing today for you to learn. this is called self illusions. the ability to make yourself appear as a different race."

Malik only grinned lightly.

"Those two are powerful casters. you're only seeing the basic powers and defining skills. they have quite a reptoire to teach."

Zykariel closed his eyes and pictured the threads once again but he had very few left to grab. But he still believed he could do it so he reached out and snatched the dwindling strands out of the air, formed them into a ball of magic and then tried to think about air. It took him a moment to figure out the best way to do it but he imagined the air acting like a big sucking tool and taking his magic then swirling into the creature he wanted to make.

He decided to avoid mistakes this time so he studied his teacher's creation quite closely and then began to form his own replica of it. Feet, legs, rapiers at his waist, torso. But as he began to create the second half, he felt that tingly feeling beginning, the kind of feeling he got after he had a magical outburst. He knew if he continued then he would feel yucky the rest of the day so instead he stopped. The lower half hung in the air and his shoulders dropped despairingly. "That's all I can do..."

She laughed along with them listening to the banter back and forth. Girl talk was okay, she could indeed handle this. Her gaze went between them and she looked surprised for a moment. "Me? I don't think I do...anything. I'm not loud...I don't scratch or bite. In fact when Arthur did that to me I told him I didn't want to be gnawed on. Nibbled, maybe but not gnawed, I can get any number of things in the Underdark to do that instead." She was quiet trying to think then she recalled an action seh had done and Sevilin's reaction and then she grinnedn triumphantly. "I purr."

Arthur popped up an eyebrow at Sevilin's comment and shrugged. "Can't I be? Being able to create creatures out of the elements is a good ability, though yes I do remember how hard it is to control wind..." Like he needed to be reminded about the accident he made a couple of years ago. Though a look to Malik and he smiled a little. "Of course when the boys are able to get past basic training they'll be able to see the more powerful moves that their teachers have...they’ll be fine and from here I can see they are enjoying it quiet well." a small chuckle to that before he picked at the book in his hands, though when little Z tried to make his air creature Arthur felt a little disappointed that he couldn't finish it but at least he did half of it. "Well at least he got that far..."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 10, 2007 9:04 pm

Another smile, he had done it again. It seemed he earned his praise not right off the bat, but by asking the right questions and giving smart answers that erred on the side of caution. Daddy always said don't be cocky. Though oh the intrigued look she pulled from the boy at the mention of this other little ability he was to learn. He was really really liking this illusion school of magic. Thus he turned to her, giving her all his attention and listening to what she had to say. Look, she had the child's attention and he wasn't trying to get away.

"I'm sure it will all get passed in due time." Nodding lightly before he looked back to the arena. And watched his son. He could already see the flaw in Zykariel's current magical abilities, the powers granted by mother and father making for grand magic access was good, but it was uncontrolled in a spending way. Why the magnitude with which he could produce magic was note worthy, he didn't know how to control the output or measure how much he needed for a specific task and thus used any amount as his disposal, instinctively the largest he had at the moment. Made for a quick burn out. Wasn't uncommon in young mages at all.

A slight look back to Arthur. "Then why don't you take it up yourself?" After all, Sevilin more or less wasn't teaching either Arthur, nor Zahara these days. "He's burning himself out, though that can easily be corrected."

The surface elves exchanged a look before a giggle. "Purring...you know that seems like a wholly appropriate noise."

"Appropriate noise, for a drow?"

"Yes. You see, I have this theory that drow aren't so loud in the bedroom because they're all loud in everyday life. Well...at least when it's a rather nice bedroom session. Malik doesn't make too much noise...well not loud noise." It was a funny thing, when women got together it seemed they talked about anything and were wholly open to sharing. Well, at least close friends.

"Sure you're not just drowning him out?" Isle got hit for that but she merely laughed it off. "Good theory though, let's ask the drow." Turning her look to Zahara. "Make sense? I mean are you louder than your purring with Galesen?"

The conjuror looked at the pair of legs with two rapier's hanging off them. hmm.

"Well that was a fine try, a fine try. but lets take what we've got, and remold it. see if you can make something from what you got there...after all, air pets are for sneaky damage...not protecting you. so care to try and mold this into something new?"

the illusionist smiled.

"Now. for this there are particular commands and requirements. first, you have to know what the race looks like. second, you need to learn the language of that race, and third, you have to have good concentration. no other spells can be cast while using an illusion, or the illusion fades."

standing up and taking out a little book, handing that off to Malikhai.

"Memorize those words. that is every illusion spell I know, and I will give you one week. you will be tested on your learning. now watch."

and she ran her hands through her hair, and as she did so, her skin lightened to a lunar pale, her white hiar turned to blond. red eyes to emerald green.

"this is the Koada'Dal illusion. only powerful casters, usually other illusionists, can see past this to the true self."

then her form seemed to shift, and became reptilian, lizard like and symbols in pastel formed on her now hairless head and a tail swept from her robes.

"this is the Iksar."

before in a blink she was back to her Tier'dal self.

Arthur looked at Sevilin and shrugged lightly as he leaned back in his seat. "I'm thinking about it...though I may want to give myself a little more time before trying out magic like this." Well he rather be well trained in his normal elemental magic before taking on something like this, it was just the way he was so he wouldn't screw up like he did when he fought Zahara years ago.

He glanced up at his teacher for a moment, hope filling his eyes. He hadn't messed up? Well that was encouraging news. Make a new pet? He'd orginally thought that the bigger, the better but maybe he could get away with something smaller this time since he couldn't make the whole pet like his teacher had.

"Sneaky damage..." When he thought about it, he thought of a snake, but a snake didn't fly. Dragons did but he didn't want to make a small dragon. He considered the floating legs then started to imagine the shifting winds and the legs shriveled up into the torso which leveled out until it formed a thin straight line. Rattlers popped up one at a time from the snake's tail and as the fog began to swirl, the definable head of a poisonous snake appeared, a snake that opened his mouth to reveal two fangs, glittering like ice. From the snake's back sprouted two tiny wings.

Why the wings? In the child's mind, snakes couldn't fly unless they had wings. And since it was his pet he could make whatever he wanted. Therefore, snake with wings and giant fangs. And he hadn't even used any more magic to do it, he'd just played with the magic he was already using. That philosophy would have worked earlier with Rawr and his draithix too. He decided to try something else as well, testing out this new power of his.

Thus he began to manipulate the air until the snake's body began to fatten adn four little legs and claws sprouted. His tail puffed out and two ears sprouted from what had been the snake's head. Soon the definable shape of a ferret became visible but he retained those wings because of the flying problem and he grinned. "Nym is the sneakiest thing I know. One time he stole all my socks with me in the room playing." Thus a glance at his teacher for approval. He was quite proud of himself. And a look back at Daddy with a grin and a wave.

Zahara was quite taken aback by Piper's theory but she remained quiet and let Isle and Piper duke it out, so to speak. After a moment when they both turned to her she shrugged, "It has merit. Sex was never something that was fun for either one of us. You know when you're being ordered to do something there's usually yelling and slapping involved." She could really use a glass of wine right about now... "But when it's a nice bedroom session, to steal a phrase from Piper, it's calming to be with someone who's not demanding and trying to hurt you. Makes it so much more enjoyable and then it's...real sex." She chuckled and shook her head. "Am I making any sense at all?" She shook her head and rested her hand along the back of the seat, tapping her fingers slightly before looking back up at the other women and shrugged. "Nope. Never screamed, never clawed. I purr. It's what I do." But then she had some questions of her own since they were getting down and dirty. "So Piper, I've always wanted to know, if I was going to seduce Malik, which I'm not so don't even think that way, but if I was, what would be the best route to take? I mean, what's his undeniable, gets-him-every-single-time spot? Or is he more of a move guy? Kinda strikes me as the latter..."

One could just see the wonder...and trouble...that could come of that little trick flit across those silvery eyes of his. Oh wouldn't it be grand to combine that with his quickly developing mimicking skills...he could fool anybody! Though as he understood...he had to learn a lot before he was every going to be able to do that...he'd just have to study really really hard then. Because that was just too cool to pass up.

Though he reached out and took the little book from her, blinking at it a moment before turning his eyes back up to her. Aw, memorizing...that wasn't hard. He was an elf after all. "Okay, I'll study." Yeas he would be studying a lot. And it was more reinforced as she gave a demonstration and he just gave a smile that spoke of further trouble. Oh yes...he thought being an illusionist was going to be a grand thing. Hm...did that mean he could look like mommy and everyone else who looked like her then? That would be neat. Not that he understood his mother and her own were technically a different subrace of elves, just that he and daddy and others didn't look like them. It was all apperance for him right now with this trick.

Good boy, he didn't try to get any new powersource, merely manipulated what he had put forth. Yes a little direction seemed to go a long way with these boys. But that was understandable seeing as they were so eager to learn. But he looked over his shoulder some to Arthur. But he held his tongue on the matter...after all it wasn't his job to make sure Arthur did his lessons and such.

Sevilin gave his son a smile and a nod when the boy looked back at him and gave him a wave, looking for some sort of attention. It was cute really, he was a fast learner as expected too.

"Oh I wanna know that too." Giving that grin that said she could try after your man if she wanted to, but wasn't that low of a person to go after a married or commited man. Even if he was blue all over. Isleandra leaned forward some, resting her elbows on her knees and her chin on the back of her clasped hands. "And there's the other question, how does she manage with only one man on her plate? Ever?"

Oh great, she was the target...why was she the target? It was because she was married wasn't it? Oh well, no problem to her, she was happy to share. Thus was why you had women who were your age to hang around with. "I suppose he's a mix. You know? Though he always does turn to putty when I massage his shoulders. Goes all mellow, speaks Tier'dal, can't really lie, I'm pretty sure I could tell him to do anything and he'd do it." Giving a chuckle...she loved doing that to him after all, and hey he wasn't ever complaining when it happened. "And though my sexual buffet consits of only one item, that one item is offered in many different styles, flavors, temperatures, and displays. Long as we're both satisfied and are change things up time to time, well I see no reason to add anything to the buffet table." A shrug of her shoulders, propping her boots up on the seat in front of her. "I could ask you two the same question. I'd rather be with one all the time who I know how to work and knows how to work me, than to be with someone new all the time and have to keep learning things all over again."

Both teachers looked over at Malik, who gave them a nod, before they turned to their respective students. after all, two hours was plenty and that time was up.

The illusionist nodded to her student.

"I sincerely hope so, I don't like to have my time wasted, and a student that won't study and isn't eager to learn is a waste of time."

The conjuror gave Zykariel a clap on the back.

"Good work for your first run, and we'll practice more on the pets. earth, air, and fire too maybe. but you did a good job for your first attempt."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 11, 2007 8:56 pm

Wait, they were done? But he didn't want to be done yet, he was having fun. He glanced up at his air ferret and then nodded. "Thank you very much for teaching me." He imagined the fog and air that made up his air Nym dispersing and Rawr melted back into the earth as well. Then he turned glancing back before nodding to his teacher. "Until next time." He turned and walked back over to his father. "Daddy? Did you see my Rawr? And my Nym? I can make pets! And Malikhai can make himself!"

"There's good points and bad points to each. Besides, if you have a good lover, regardless if he's your only, it doesn't take him long to figure those things out. So a few sessions of playing adventurers and you've got it in the bag. Then it's like you're married. You know each other..." her eyes moved to the arena for a moment and then skittered away. "better than you know yourselves." Then she shrugged, realizing she'd got a little too personal there. "But utlitmately sex is just sex. As long as you get yoru pleasure out of it and he gets his, what eslse is there to stress about? Everything works rather nicely." But something compelled her to say just one more thing. "I will say this though, some lovers are far superior than others and some are more suited for individuals. Arthur and I, we didn't mesh well. Sevilin...we're...better. You and Malik mesh perfectly. Isle? What about you and Arthur?"

He merely nodded to that, as well as gave one of those respective ones in place of a bow one might have given thier teacher in respect. D'vinns bowed to no one, or so daddy said. But he quickly gave her a smile to his serious look. "I won't waste time." Thus turning on his little boot heel and toddling back to his father, holding his little book to his chest and just beaming with happy. No doubt soon to be seeking or expecting validation of his efforts from the man.

Sevilin turned his attention down to his son, gently ruffling his son's hair as he started his question string. "Yes I saw, very very impressive." And he was just sure that Malikhai's mother was just going to love the boy's new little trick which no doubt would be exploited. "Feeling okay?"

Piper gave a secretive smirk to Zahara. "That's what you think. Twenty five years or so now and we're still finding all kinds of fun new things out about each other when it comes to the bedroom. I don't call that knowing someone after a few adventerous bedsheet encounters." But she did have to nod in agreement to the last part. "As I've always said, always seem to know us better than we do ourselves in many different aspects." Though a raised eyebrow...oh Zahara, she was just a trip wasn't she? "I once heard a human say that opposites attract...I don't think you get any more opposite than me and Malik." Giving a little chuckle to that and all the true points to it. Though a look down to the arena as children vacated it, apparently done. Let the children bask in the glow of proud fathers a moment.

"Well...my buffet is varied and I like it that way. So bah to your specialty buffet." Giving her own giggle, that teasing tone laced in her voice. But her attention turned to Zahara was well. "Just better? Maybe you need to get out more too." Shrugging her shoulder's lightly before brushing some lavender strands from her eyes. "Eh, I haven't decided yet. He's a very tenative man at least and that's always good. He satisfies. Though I may be a little bit too much for him right now." Though a smirk and a chuckle of some sorts. "At least he doesn't need direction in bed, quite comfortable doing what he wants." Of course referring to that little pet peeve she had with his seemingly ways of being the order around type.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 11, 2007 9:21 pm

Malik gave a grin to his son, picking him up and holding him at eye level.

"and your mother was worried. Though you know that your little trick is going to get regulated, don't you. We don't want you driving your mother insane trying to chase two of you. But you did a fine job."

though a look to Arthur.

"You learn anything today in those books?"

Zykariel beamed happily under hsi father's praise and he glanced up at the sidelines for a moment before reaching up and taking his father's hand. "Yup, I didn't even lose control, Daddy. And I only got that funny feeling one time but I got it to go away...sorta..." He didn't really understand why he had magical malfunctions sometimes, only that his body got that tingling feeling right before it happened.

"Maybe soon I can learn to do runes like you." For now he was stuck on his conjuring. He knew he had to practice but he didn't think Daddy would let him do it again so soon. "Can you do some of those things too? The ones that Malikhai's teacher did or the ones that mine did?" Runes were neat things weren't they?

Zahara burst out laughing. "That's definitely the truth. You and Malik are about as opposite as you can get, even subrace-wise." She was still a pro at concealing her feelings except from those who knew exactly where to look. For now she was the picture of relaxed nonchalance. "He gives good massages though his hands tend to wander when they probably shouldn't. I've never been one for public displays but Arthur doesn't really seem to have a problem with it. Not that it matters anymore anyway. " She shrugged, "You can have him all to yourself for as long as you like him."
PostPosted: Fri Jan 12, 2007 11:24 am

He gave a smile and a giggle as he was picked up and held at his father's eye leve. Oh yes, beaming and basking in praise as well. And then he squirmed lightly and gave that sheepish look to Malik, holding in a laugh at that. "It would be fun." Come on, it would be tons of fun to have mommy chasing two of him around. But he gave a little nod of sorts. "I won't trick mommy." Just, well, everybody else. Kicking his legs in the air lightly before looking over his shoulder and across the room to his mother then back to his father. "You think she'll let me do more now?" More of course as in everything that she said he was too little on. He had just proven that he wasn't too little for something rather complex, didn't that count for something?

He crouched down to his son's level giving him a smile and a lopsided grin of his own, giving his son's hand a squeeze as Sevilin himself gave a little chuckle. "Oh already want to learn runics do you?" Wasn't the child just so happy that nothing bad happened. Because usually only upsetting things happened when he displayed magic. "We'll work on that, and on you practicing." But a little nod. "I can do a few, I know my magic I just don't like to show off." Sevilin? Of course he did, he was a high level mage as well as a runic master.

"We strive to outshine everyone." Giving that cocky look in return comment to Zahara's added opinion on the opposite situation. But a shake of her head. "That's another drow thing. You all don't enjoy public displays of affection at all. I swear, when me and Malik were in Neriak I got nothing, not even a nice look, unless we were out of sight of others." She shook her head lightly. Oh Arthur...hopefully he wasn't digging himself into a hole with these women. Zahara was never a woman to be messed with to begin with, but Isle could bring wrath like no tomorrow if she felt personally attacked.

"Okay, so Piper wins the award for being the most different from the man she's settled down with. No contest to that." Waving a hand dismissively at them both though. "I don't care either way. Public, no public...long as there some decency in it all." Though a raise of her eyebrow at Zahara as she mentioned Galesen was all Isle's. "I don't share a man with someone else at the same time anyway...it's just not right."

"Sounds good to me..." She glanced between the two of them and then back down to the arena, catching Zykariel's gaze watching her. The moment she met his, he turned his head guiltily as though he knew he shouldn't be looking at her. She smiled softly and prayed that Piper was right and it wasn't too late. "Don't worry Isle, I found someone else..." She nodded to the other two and then stood up and headed down to the arena. Keeping her distance while the boys had their little moment before she stepped up and grinned down at her son. "You did wonderfully Zykariel. Soon you'll be as good as your teacher, if not better."

"I wanna be just like you!" Daddy got a grin, he loved it when he got down to his level. It made him feel so much bigger. But then Zara appeared and he glanced up at her, surprised but pleased with her praise and he puffed out his chest importantly. "Really? I thought I did pretty good too."

She nodded and then glanced at Sevilin before clearing her throat, before suddenly feeling shy. "Umm...could I talk to you for a moment? It's kind of important and I don't really want to waste any more time or lose my nerve to do it..."
