You know... by now, with just about 24 hours until I'm gone, I should be feeling some sort of nervousness or sadness or something... but so far it just feels like another day or something... except I have this stupid packing list to do. rolleyes

Maybe it won't really hit until you're actually leaving.

I don't know, maybe. I think it'll be harder for some of the others than it will be for me. My mom especially, but probably my girlfriend too. My grandma, who I think knows me pretty well, believes that I'm so independent that I won't even suffer from being homesick.
I'm interested to see how I change and how others change between when I leave and when I get back.

Your grandma could be right. My husband's like that. He loves his family, but doesn't really miss them much when he's not with them.
I was just thinking the same thing. I was wondering how you'd be the same/different once you get back. I'm looking forward to "getting to know you" again. biggrin

Yeah, we shall see I suppose. It probably won't hit me that I'm gone until I've got some stink-breathed guy in my face yelling about how much of a piece of s**t I am because I shaved wrong or my collar is crooked. xp
Hehe, there's certainly things I'm hoping will change, but for the most part I'd like to be able to say that I'm still the same person.

I'd say you'll probably still be the same person, just more sure of yourself and more mature. (Not that you're immature now. But something like that is bound to "grow you up" even more.)

Hehe, or there's that off chance it'll do the exact opposite and make me less mature because I'll have to be so mature and responsible while I'm there. I don't think that's in my nature though, hehe.

This packing list is kind of stupid....
First thing on the list is "White socks (crew length, NO logos or stripes)" but it doesn't say anywhere how many pairs or what they're for... and then down lower, number twenty on the list is "Civilian clothes (two (2) days worth)" but I'm wondering if that means I need different socks for that or if the crew length socks are that... whee

Hmmmm...I guess you could be on the safe side and pack a week's worth of the white socks. That way, you're covered whether they're just for the civi clothes or for your uniform clothes.

It won't be for the uniform. I get issued all the uniform stuff.
