Zahara raised an eyebrow on teh wardrobe but she said nothing. If Piper wanted to be comfortable then by all means. She'd worn Sevilin's pants once before though she had to have a belt on top of the drawstrings because he was just too big for her. "Sevilin's got Zykariel doing little things here and there. Mostly maps, reading, writing, you know, the basics." She relaxed back, glad to see Piper was eating. "You're teaching him the sword? Already? Isn't he a little young to be playing with sharp, pointy objects?"
Zykariel had finished almost all of his pancakes and half of his waffles by that time. He ducked his head when his father came in poking and prodding. "Daddy! Not while I'm trying to eat." He shoved the hand away though his father got all the checking he wanted to do despite the protests.
A glance at Arthur as he kept eating. "Thank you." Because anything like Daddy was a compliment in his book. "No, I always have waffles and pancakes together. Zara usually wont' make them together though so I only get one. But sometimes I can get somebody to make 'em both for me so I do."

And fork stopped halfway to mouth as his father spoke up, thus Malik got that sheepish look from his mini lookalike. "Sorry daddy..." add in the cute little 'how can you be mad at this face' smile and back to eating...but slower and in smaller bites. Because he didn't want mommy to get the upper hand again.
Sevilin only raised an eyebrow at Arthur at the comment. After all the only one who usually ever commented on his eating habits was Zahara...and that was because he could go a week without food and then eat like no tomorrow one day and then do it again. But a shrug to the surface elf. "I use a lot of energy, have to eat to replace it." Damn it, voice still all low and screwed up. Though noting the boy's wording as he was switching between terms for Zahara again, that was something Sevilin always took note of though. After all...he had to play referee between those two on expectations based on names.
However, he got his checking over of Zykariel done, which was the main objective rolling his eyes slightly as the child proclaimed that he could weasel things out of people, before his look shifted to Malik. "I'll be fine, I've been through worse than this and made to get up and get on with life. Just don't give me angry reason to raise my voice." After all...he really didn't yell unless it was really serious.
Piper caught that look from Zahara and smirked. Yes it wasn't often she stole Malik's shirts...no reason to steal his pants because she didn't want to be pulling them up every two seconds...but she did steal the former on occassion. And she supressed a groan. "Don't get me started on it...I was angry enough for Malik blatantly underminding me about it when I said no the first time. But you know him...paranoid and wanting to make sure his son has a decent chance to even make a run for it if he has to. It's either compromise or be the bad guy."

"At the risk of sounding redundant and more or less bringing up a subject that's already been killed and buried...Malikhai is three years old. It's not like he's going to be left alone long enough to have to defend himself. Malik would tie that boy to his back and slaughter enemies before he'd do that." She crossed her ankles on the bed and propped her hands behind her head on the pillow. "Or you could just lock him in a bubble." Then a groan, "Don't you hate those sorts of situations? I'm in one of those right now."

She tilted her head as she thought of the image in her head...it was disturbing and yet funny at the same time. "Actually I think Malik would tie us both together and throw us into a dimension pocket." Shaking her head lightly as she set the tray that had once held breakfast aside. "Malik promised me he wouldn't be doing anything too intense...it's all about compromise Zahara. He knows I still think of him as my little boy, and Malik wouldn't take that away from me." Though a blink at her friend. "What do you mean you're in one of those right now?"

Zahara nodded, understanding the need to protect and she glanced at the tray to see how much Piper had actually eaten. Almost the entire plate which wasn't bad at all. Her gaze wandered to the tray that had been brought up for Malik and she sighed. "I suppose I should eat his since I doubt he's going to." And she hadn't eaten since the little bit of soup she'd had the night before. Picking up the tray, she settled it on her lap and took a bite of eggs. "You can have my toast. It's got cinnamon on it." She ate a strip of bacon before shrugging. "Well, if I don't agree to be Zykariel's 'mommy' I can't live with the boys anymore and I become the bad guy. So either I give in or I lose out completely and Zykariel gets mad at me."

"Don't take offense, he's picky about his food." Giving a little grin about that before taking that toast from the plate and took a bite of it. But She carefully considered what she wanted to say when Zahara started into a very sensitive subject that Piper wasn't keen on because she always got yelled at or somehow it just went bad on her. "I don't necessarily think you'd be labeled as the bad guy...just that you're 'not ready' as the child likes to say. And...why are you afraid to not live with them." Oh wait, bad word, ammend that. "I mean uneasy, to not live with them?"

"I won't do a thing to make you yell, Sevilin. can't say the teachers won't, as I don't know exactly what would make you yell or not in that particular situation."
A slight smirk.
"Oh, did you know that Arthur finally got with Isle..and were you in on the pool?"

He shrugged lightly and gave a smirk. "I'll just punch people then." Though supressing a chuckle because he didn't enjoy coughing now did he? Sure didn't. Though a look over to Arthur. "Really? No, I missed that bidding session. Pity. Though I would of said eleven days." Hey, he didn't mind poking a bit of fun...besides, would do Arthur some good practice to learn to verbally defend himself instead of his usual act.
Malikhai was face first in a cup of milk, trying to get it down in as least amount of time as possible without drowning in it. Setting the empty glass down, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and then plopped down from his chair and toddled over to his father, clinging to his pants as he presented his haphazardly dressed self. "Can we start now daddy?" Excited tugging on the fabric he had hold of to make sure he had dad's attention.

"Never met somebody who wouldn't eat my food but I won't take offense, no worries Piper." A thank you might have been nice but she didn't do it for the gratitude anyway. "He's only going to accept that excuse for so long, Piper, and we both know it. He's already questioning things about it and why I'm not ready." She shook her head and took another bite. "I don't really know. Maybe it's because it's comfortable. You know, I've gotten used to being with Zykariel and Sevilin and it feels strange being away from them."
Zykariel drenched his last piece of waffle in syrup and whipped cream but glanced at the adults. "Eleven days for what Daddy? What did Arthur and Miss Isle do?" He glanced at Malikhai for a moment and picked up his own glass of milk, drinking it down before looking between Mr. Malik and Daddy for answers to both questions.

"He'll understand when he's older, I'm sure. You know small children, they take things lightly and can't see anything truly wrong with some things. After all it's your decision, not the child's. Sometimes...children don't know the right anwer even when they think they do." She'd probably kick herself later for saying these things that she just hated to say. A little shrug. "Do a trial run of living on your own? You may find you like the privacy and what not."

Arthur looked at Malik for a second and nodded lightly. "Alright then, I'll go over to the library and grab a few books before they start." Might as well read up on some things, he liked to read after all. So he ordered another glass of milk from a slave and when it came he took a small sip, once he sat the cup down that's when the blue drow decided to pop up the whole thing about Arthur sleeping with Isle, and how there was a pool. The elf just watched quietly, Malik already said something like this earlier so he wasn't bothered much about it now, though a look at Sevilin when he jumped in and he shrugged. "If you guys want to talk about how long it takes for me to that then go right ahead...at least I don't make stupid bets on when you guys go around doing things like that, it's just not me." A small shrug to that as he took another sip of his milk though, he had to keep certian words out because of the kids but he had to grin a little at Zykariel and chuckled quietly, how will Sevilin explain this one?

"I suppose." She was quiet for a moment just eating and then she too set the tray aside and shook her head. "When he's older it will be too late. I've come to realize that now Piper. After all, if I feel like I'm going to corrupt him now, why wouldn't it just get worse when he gets older and starts making his own decisions?" She curled her legs beneath her and said softly, "It took me a long time to figure out what I want but since the day that boy was born I have wanted to be near him and around him. I was just too proud to admit that you and Sevilin were both right and Zykariel suffered because of it. I keep telling myself that I'm not Llothian and I guess yesterday taught me something about myself too." Piper's ideas had merit but Zahara had already tried that. "Privacy is overrated. I want to be around when Zykariel builds a tower and just has to show someone or when he falls and needs someone nearby. Yesterday my son broke his arm. He cried and needed somebody to comfort. Sevilin couldn't do it. He needed someone to keep him from getting himself hurt again and keeping him entertained. Sevilin couldn't do it. I did it all and I found out that it's a lot easier than I thought. I can do it and I want to." She grinned at Piper. "And not once did I consider telling him to grow up or deal with the pain like my mother would have done. I wanted to take the pain from him and it was special knowing I could soothe him."

A look to his son. "They played cards and drank rum." Looking back to Arthur, more or less not even caring about his little comment. After all, Sevilin didn't care at all about sex, and if he knew anything, Malik pretty much got it whenever the mood struck him. "Maybe if you did you would make some money, hm?" Giving a smirk and looking to his son once more. "Finish up your breakfast Zykariel."
Wait a moment...she was right this time? Shock to her. Oh wait till she told Malik that she was right. After all, someone had to bask in her radiance. But Piper merely gave Zahara a smile and a nod, reaching out and resting a hand on top of her friend's. "Well Zahara, I'm very glad you came to your senses. It's alright to be afraid to be a mother, I was too. After all, I didn't want to be like my mother either." After all, Fianna had been a tad restrictive. "But sometimes you have to just jump in and accept that you're going to hold your breath when something happens and just have to wait to exhale again, but it won't kill you to hold your breath for a bit." Patting her friend's hand. "Does this mean I can stop watching what I talk about now?"

Zahara flipped her hand and squeezed Piper's. She had always been grateful for Piper's continued friendship even though Zahara had yelled at her, thrust daggers at her and sometimes beaten her. Now she just chuckled, "Yes you can stop watching what you say now. Though I will ask that you not say anything to anyone before I can sit down and talk to Sevilin and Zykariel about it. It's ultimately his choice and he may have already given up on me. If that's the case then I can't really do anything else...it's my own fault after all."
"Oh," He glanced at Arthur. "You made sure to take her to your cabin first, right? Playing cards and drinking rum is only for the captain's cabin. Nobody else wants to see that." He glanced at his father and then drank the rest of his milk. "I'm all done. Is it time for lessons?" Reiterating the question Malikhai had asked.

"I won't say a word about it to anyone...mabe Malik but I'll swear him to secrecy if it does pass on to him. Besides, you'd be surprised on how much he wants this family aspect to work for you all. Things will be a lot better once you notice you're not on eggshells anymore. And though I may not like Sevilin too much I do believe that he is an intelligent man and knows better than to make descisions too quickly." Giving a giggle and brushing a hand through her own hair. "We'll have to celebrate if everything works out, yes?"
He gave a chuckle, even if it was uncomfortable, and then pat his son lightly on the head, minding the fact that the boy's head may still be sore. It was amazing how children bounced back. "Patience, let everyone else finish breakfast too."
