Marcus smiled. "I could hardly see Terryn doing that. But...I do not know. When I think the time is right."
The Duchess shut the wardrobe. "Not at all. You may go ahead and put that into Marcus's bedroom. I will be waiting in the dining room, if you don't mind. Do you know the way to his bedroom?"

The earl nodded. "I am sure that once you both are fully ready, you will know."
Terryn nodded. "We passed it on the way I believe. The one with the painting of the yellow rose hanging on the wall?"

The Duchess rolled her eyes. "All the boys insist on having the very same painting. Why, I have no idea. Not one of them has shown any particular fascination with art otherwise, unless there is some half nude woman in the scene." She sighed, and exited the room. "I will show you to it. Come along."

Terryn followed her silently, the nightgown draped over her arm as she walked down the corridor. She felt a little more at ease with the duchess than she had before, which may have been partially due to the fact that she was feeling more comfortable with herself.

The Duchess stopped abruptly at a doorway and opened the door. Terryn had already been in the room, but the Duchess apparently thought that it was necessary to point out the painting. "Here it is. The very same painting as there is in four other rooms in the house."

Terryn nodded and entered, glancing around the room and then back at the painting. "Perhaps they knew the painter."

The Duchess sighed and shrugged. "Perhaps." She exited the room now. "Come along. They'll be wondering where we have gone," she called, raising the hem of her gown so that she could walk more quickly.

Terryn laid the nightgown on the bed and stayed back, examining the painting for a moment. She was curious as to why the duchess didn't know why they had that painting. Maybe she could ask Marcus. She shrugged to herself and exited the room, following the woman and losing herself in her thoughts.

The Duchess appeared in the dining hall, doing her best not to look thrilled. She gave the earl a small smile, a nod, and took her seat. "Marcus, I trust that things are doing better in Russia?"
Marcus swallowed. "The damage done to the manor was very nearly irreperable. I fixed it up a bit and sold it to a Russian man, someone that does not loathe the country as I do."

The earl nodded back lightly, glancing at Terryn as she took her seat and tried to appear as though she were invisible. He was very curious now as to what his daughter had on her mind, but there was time for that later. "Well that is good. Get some money out of the whole tragedy."

Marcus nodded, apparently intent on making himself nonexistant again.
The Duchess smiled. "Oh, I would hardly call it a tragedy. Marcus has been away for longer periods of time."
