Elasa blinked, looking to Melissa.

"No, ma'am," she said. "I am from another planet, inside of Universal Sector 0005. I was chosen out of all the beings in my Sector to bear the Blue Light of Hope." She held up her ring hand, on which her Blue Lantern Ring glowed.

"It is my duty to give hope to those who need it most. I was sent to Earth to assist the Green Lanterns of this planet-- who have gone missing. Almost the entire Green Lantern Corps has disappeared, as have most members of the other Lantern Corps apart from my own. And with the Black Lantern Corps' power rising, this is not good for the Merged Multiverse."

One of Melissa's eyebrows raised higher than the other one, "What's a Black Lantern and what is this 'Blue Light of Hope' stuff?"

Des had chuckled at Kesshou's reaction, seeing how smitten with Beast Boy the catgirl was.

Both of the speedster sisters were busy, well, eating. They were naturally done fairly early, and started to discuss in "speed talk" about training, and that there had been talk of a room they could practice. The eldest looked around the table, and curiosity seeped into her voice.

"So what is this... Danger Room...?"
PostPosted: Mon Mar 19, 2012 9:31 am

Nightshade turned toward the speedster twins and answered, "Oh yes, the Danger Room. That's a facility here that can similuate any environment, person or thing that you could run into. The X-Men use it for training scenarios. I've been tickering with that off and on since I came here and got everything in the basement levels up and running again. If you and maybe some of the other would like, I could run some programs for you."

Elasa paused for a moment, her face thoughtful as she considered how to properly go about her explanation to Songbird.

"Well... I shall tell you what I know, as told to me by Ganthet, the leader of the Blue Lantern Corps," she said. "In the beginning, there was the Black-- the Void of Unlife. The embodiment and ruler of this state of existence is known as Nekron, the Lord of the Unliving. At some point, the 'peace' of the Void was shattered when the White Light of Creation spontaneously entered the Universe and burned brightly for seven hundred years, while it created everything in my universe. After this period, Nekron attacked the White Light, causing it to splinter into seven colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Each of these colors is associated with an emotional concept: Rage, Greed, Fear, Willpower, Hope, Compassion, and Love.

"Over many eons, life first arose on planet Earth, and that was where the Life Entity, the Embodiment of the White Light, made its home. It is also where the other seven Emotional Embodiments were created. Billions of years ago, on the planet Maltus, the Maltusians learned how to harness the Green Light of Willpower. They moved to the planet Oa, which was located within the center of the entire Universe, and renamed themselves the Oans, declaring themselves the Guardians of the Universe and seeking to protect all life from harm, particularly from Nekron. Three billion years ago, the Guardians created the Green Lantern Corps: a group of select beings from across the thirty-six-hundred Sectors of the Universe in order to keep the peace.

"A few years ago, one of these Green Lanterns, Thaal Sinestro of Korugar, betrayed the ideals of the Green Lanterns by forcing order upon his Sector and becoming a dictator. He was expelled from the Corps, and then created his own Lantern Corps, the Sinestro Corps, which harnesses the Yellow Light of Fear. Not long after the Sinestro Corps was created, other Corps based on the Emotional Spectrum emerged: the Blue Lanterns, then the Orange and Red Lanterns, and finally the Star Sapphires (or Violet Lanterns) and the Indigo Tribe. When these Corps all came together, it began what is called the War of Light, which was prophesied to destroy all the Lantern Corps by leading to the Blackest Night.

"The Blackest Night was an attempt by Nekron, Lord of the Unliving, to enter the mortal realm and destroy the Life Entity-- and therefore all life itself-- by creating the Black Lantern Corps from the souls of the dead... and it very nearly worked. Nekron was defeated, the Corps all called a truce, and peace was more or less restored. I was not a Blue Lantern when the Blackest Night occurred.

"When the Multiversal Merge happened, nearly every member of the Green Lantern Corps disappeared without a trace. I was sent to this Sector, Sector 2814, to find the Green Lanterns of Earth and assist them-- or if I could not, then I'd have to take over as defender of this Sector. However... that objective has been supplanted by another. Nekron is rising in power once more, and so far only the numbers of the Blue Lanterns remain the same. Many of the greatest heroes from my universe have also disappeared. It has become my responsibility to recruit as many heroes as possible to fight against Nekron now, but the odds are now even worse than during the First Blackest Night, as not only are many Lanterns and heroes unaccounted for, but Nekron also has assistance from at least two other beings of a similar power level to him."

Kurt Wagner raised a brow almost curiously to Des and nodded a yes to being a priest.

"Vell, I am Kurt Vagner. excuse my accent, I know I am not so good at zhe english still...I am from Bavaria you see. And... I hope so too, zhat more vill come seeking the help of god. I just don't vant people loosing their way, or not believing in one at all."

Garfield listened and heard that the girls wanted practice, and knowing those two, how young they are, it would be a good idea for them to get a lot of practice in before they are to go on any serious mission with any of them. "They are probably itching to try it out after that said..." Garth thought to himself. He knew how much of a pain for flashes it could be for them to stay still for too long, they loved to run... he could say it was in their blood.

Kurt finished his food rather quickly without really been seen eating... Maybe people were just ignoring the fact he'd been eating or he was just eating so quietly in between speaking, either way he was done. He stood up and walked over to the girls, hoping his appearance wouldn't spook them.

"Or I could show you zhe training room, I have spent many hours in there and it would be an honor to work with such bright girls ready to help protect the innocent..."

"Good call Kurt... they need to burn off some energy anyway."

Garth said standing up and brushing off his shirt, he'd gotten some crumbs on himself from his bread. He was actually rather glad that the purple kid invited the girls to train. If he hadn't asked them to train Garth would, which meant while the Kurt kid was taking care of the two handfuls of energy he would go and look back over the IO data that was sent that night with that message to Barbara. He stretched and headed towards the door.

"Kesshou, would you like to come look over some information with me?"

Meanwhile, Scott glared at the man and crossed his arms. If anything this man's arrogant attitude and careless expressions showed Scott how much of a pity for a human being this man was. It only made him more upset and angry with this man.

"Look here you, I don't care what they did to you. I'd rather die than take out orders to kill the innocent, and your choice is yours... I don't see mind control devises on you nor did I see mutants that could control you when we captured your sorry a**... And you're right, I am from a different world... one where we make the right decisions, and save lives despite our own personal costs or the loss of our own freedoms."

This only excited the girls more, neither of them could sit down anymore. They were at the door before anything else could be said.

"If it's no trouble."

Both speedsters bubbled with energy. They were going to properly train again!

Songbird had a bit of a walleyed expression as Elasa explained the origins of the lanterns. It took a few moment for her to connect the dots in her head, "So.... in a way, it's the power of the rainbow... I guess. It sounds simular to Karla's Moonstone ... or worst case scenario the Soul Gems in the Infinity Gauntlet. God, I miss Hallie. She'd know all of this stuff. So, what's being done to stop Nekron this time?"

Nightshade finihsed up his meal and sipped his coffee, "Anytime you're ready to, I'll set the Danger Room up."

Still unphased, the Professor continued, "And you don't understand, the Company doesn't give you a choice. They neither forgive nor forget."

"We're ready!"

The younger piped up in excitement. The two were out the door, quickly realizing that they actually didn't know which way to go.

Des chuckled as he got up, grabbed his coffee, and followed the speedsters into the hallway and pointed with his free hand, "It's this way." Nightshade motioned for them to follow, and within a couple of minutes led to the Danger Room, "Alright, I'll be in the control room there. You two just sit tight for a couple of minutes for me to set up a program. Any ideas what you want to work on?"

"As I have said, my mission as of late has been to recruit as many heroes from the Merged Multiverse as I can to wage war against the Black Lantern Corps and its allies when the time comes. Before I went to find my partner, who was looking for two heroes from my universe, I was sent to recruit the beings that were present at S.T.A.R. Labs. I promised Kesshou when I left that I would return as quickly as I could, and now I have." Elasa said. "Now, if you will please excuse me, I wish to check on the woman I healed."

With that, Elasa gave Melissa a respectful bow, and moved out of the room, toward Oracle. When she reached her, she smiled.

"I am sure that it must be difficult for you to try to walk after so long, but my ring tells me that your legs are full capable of walking again, with no side effects apart from initial discomfort in your body. Has the discomfort passed?" she asked Oracle kindly.

Apex had watched all the others, not speaking, but he had kept an eye on the two speedster girls. So excited to get into crimefighting, they seemed, and Apex thought back to the girl he had encountered in New York; she didn't look much older than the younger of the two speedsters, and he had told her to stay out of vigilantism, regardless of how much training she received. He shook his head, and moved toward the two speedster girls outside the Danger Room.

"I'd advise against training," he said as he reached them. "Children so young shouldn't be thinking about vigilantism... they should be trying to be kids. Leave the heroics to the professionals," he said to them, before looking to Des coolly.

The sisters followed Nightshade.

"Lack of friction definitely. Impulse'd want to work on quick turns and stops-"

The elder spoke for the two as they were led to the room, but they both looked to the man who had approached.

"Not...not train?"

At the same time, both girls started arguing in a "sped up" manner. Maybe one at a time they could be understood, but together at the same time? No.

Thankfully for Apex, his increased mental capacity meant that he could understand them both. He still held up a hand to silence them.

"You have powers-- but that doesn't mean you should feel the need to use them; not yet. You're still children. You've got your whole lives ahead of you, and being a vigilante is a hard life; just ask Batman. Do you really want to give up your childhoods for that?"
PostPosted: Mon Mar 19, 2012 11:22 am

That did it. Des just about had it with this mercenary, as he turned to address Apex crossing his arms, "And who are you!? You on some 'Mission from God' or something!? These two girls need to work on how to properly use their power; otherwise they could hurt themselves on accident. And as far as training, this is the safest way for training those with special abilities. There are built in safety features in here. And thirdly, I'm not planning on putting these girls into a warzone, thank you! So unless you're actually adding something truly constructive, kindly leave these girls alone!"
