Saki stopped, her eyes widened slightly as she gently reached up to the flower at her ear. "Daffodils," she said softly. She turned her eyes to Cole. "My favorite flower." She smiled a genuinely warm smile. "Now how would you possibly know a thing like that?"

There was a sound Dyanel heard as she walked toward the ancient pagoda doors. The fountain from the garden. Dyanel stopped, remembering talking to Cole there before she had left again. She ran into it, the maze of flowers and statues capturing her senses. She fell, feeling like a child. She looked up where she had fallen and there was a statue there. Dyanel recognized it instantly. It was of Cole's mother and she shook her head. She was never to know a mother, not even Cole's. She stood up, she was being foolish in coming back. She felt something trickle down her leg. She looked down and her knee was healing a wound. Dyanel watched, she bleeds black but never for a long time. She picked up the stone that she had landed on, throwing it across the way and hearing it slam against the stone wall. She was hopeless, everything she had worked so hard for her whole life was gone and there was nothing she could go back and fix. Her father was dead, her mother wanted nothing to do with her and no one wanted to deal with her she. She curled up in her spot, a tear falling from her cheek. She wanted so much to be human, but she knew it was just pretend.

Gabriel's shadow appeared in front of Dyanel. He crouched down next to her, a hand on her shoulder. "A lady should never cry over things they cannot change." He whispered into her ear.

Dyanel looked up, her cheeks stained. She saw the familiar face of one of her most trusted friends. "Oh Gabriel." She said leaning over and hugging him tightly. "I've failed. Everything I've tried to do, I've failed." She sobbed into his chest.

Gabriel wrapped his arms around her, his hands running through her hair. "It's okay Dyanel, I'm still here. You haven't failed completely, it's just been pushed back." He told her.

Dyanel shook her head. "No Gabriel, I've failed. I don't even have you. I pushed that away long ago... You have your daughter and all I have is a keros named Cheebs. I've failed Gabriel. I don't have a place anywhere anymore." She told him.

Gabriel did not know what to say. He knew Dyanel was just upset. She hadn't completed her own journey and had lost someone else in her life. He held her close, not really knowing what else to do. He looked down into her stormy grey-blue eyes, the eyes he used to see after battles when she'd come and greet him. The eyes that he dreamed of so often when he was a child. They were different now, they were red from crying. He pushed her hair from her face, and he leaned down. He let go all those feelings he decided to hide when Nicoletta was born and kissed Dyanel for the first time in his life.

Dyanel responded, a part of her not wanting to, but another enjoying his lips against hers. She let the passion flow into her and if any other demon noticed them together they would be able to feel the amount of power in the both of the combined. The hood of Dyanel's cloak fell down, revealing her long soft curls. She could feel Gabriel's hand take her chin as his other hand wrapped around her waist. She never felt like this, not with any of the others either. Gabriel made her feel at ease and she knew that it just might be different than before. She pulled away, her eyes opening as she looked at him.
"You never stopped loving me did you?" She asked him.

Gabriel rest his forehead against Dyanel's. He slowly shook his head. "No, I didn't. I became a father Dy, I couldn't raise her while her mother was dead. If I told her how much I love you, she'd hate you instead of admire you." He told her honestly.

Dyanel moved her head up so that she could stare into his sapphire blue eyes. Her hands moved to his jaw, staring at him with a love she thought she lost when her father died. "Gabriel, maybe we were bethrothed to each other because we are like matching puzzle pieces to the Fates." Dyanel stated.

Gabriel smiled warmly at her. He pulled her close again, holding her tightly. "Then if it is destiny we shouldn't hide from each other anymore." He whispered to her. He moved Dyanel away from him for a moment. "Will you be my wife forever?" He asked her, his eyes sincere as he asked.

A small smile swept across Dyanel's face. It lit it up compared to the state she had returned from the Pagoda. "But forever's always changing." She remarked, her face changing from happiness to sadness.

Gabriel pulled her close. "Then we'll change along with it, but together." He assured her. "Please Dyanel, be my wife, we've always known deep in our hearts that we are meant to be." Gabriel said.

Dyanel let out a small laugh. "Of course, I've known. I just..." She kissed him and pulled back. "I just wanted to make sure you were willing to be with me that long." She added.

Gabriel smiled. "Dyanel, I spent enough of my life with you already. I'm more than willing to fall off the world with you. I'm willing to get back up again with you." He told her kissing her passionately.
