"So the Pancham wants to be a hero, huh?" Sly commented as Pancham intervened in the battle. The little Pokémon didn't stick around for long, but it distracted Merrimack and Judge long enough for Kommo-o to call for his allies. Not that that bothered the Team Rocket agent - Sly had beaten Totem Kommo-o and his allies before during his Island trial, and was confidant he could do it again. He had no idea what was coming. Mist swirled across the battle field, at the far end Kommo-o's form became harder to see. Where'd this mist come from? Merrimack wondered. He didn't have to wait long to find out. Another figure appeared beside the Kommo-o, even through the mist the presence of a Guardian Deity was unmistakable - Tapu Fini herself had answered her Totem's call.
The Island Guardian looked on Kommo-o with concern, though Sly couldn't tell if it was concern for the Totem's well being or merely for his ability to carry out his duties. Then, for an instant, she turned her gaze on Merrimack - there was no ambiguity about her sentiments toward him. Tapu Fini's eyes held all the fury of a stormy sea, and for the first time in his life, "Dreadnought" Sly felt that Nature's Madness was genuinely a force to fear.
The mist grew thicker until the Tapu Fini and Kommo-o were completely hidden, then as suddenly as it appeared, the mist vanished, and with it the Tapu and Totem both. Sly wasn't sure if the Hakamo-o he'd defeated had slipped off under the cover of the mist or if Tapu Fini had spirited them away with the Totem, all he knew was that he and Judge were all that remained in the Trial Site.

The battle began between Kommo-o and Mega Steelix, and a fine battle it was! They appeared evenly matched at first, but then Kommo-o's arm was wounded and it fell before the Steelix's onslaught. Before it could recover, the trainer commanded another onslaught of attacks. Dan clenched his jaw for fear of the Kommo-o, wondering if this was going too far. But then a little Pacham ran out and distracted Steelix before fleeing. Dan and all his Pokemon were glad for the little guy's intervention. This allowed the Kommo-o to call for allies.
What came down to aid Kommo-o was quite a strange looking Pokemon to Dan, Jolteon, and Pidgeot. Only Rockruff understood how much more intense this had gotten. He almost stood up in surprise but remembered to stay crouching. Tapu Fini? For real? THE Tapu Fini!? She looked with pity upon the Totem Pokemon, and with anger at Sly. She sent a mist about herself and the Kommo-o and then they were both gone, leaving Sly and his Steelix to themselves. Dan and his Pokemon watched to see what would happen next.

After her dance was done she went to her plan for the day. She had been on this island much too long now. With the flock that raised her sending her out, she needed to move on to a different one. She had learned that a boat was bound for Ula Ula Island. That would be her new home. She quickly made her way to the spot, taking care to make sure no one saw her. She saw the boat about ready to take off and dove into the water. She was quickly able to swim and bored it with no one the wiser. She found a place to hide while she made the trip wondering if the new Island would be as interesting as it sounded.

"Well, in the eyes of the locals you are. You are famous to the the people here as I hear your name at least four times a day, if not more. I hear it here on Poni Island and when I'm on the other islands. '' He said with a charming smile and had noticed that he had made her blush. ' Mmm, maybe I can get some information from her later.. ' He thought to himself before hearing the back door opened and closed. It was his Heliolisk, coming in after soaking in the sunlight. Heliolisk came around to where the others were. He gave a disgruntled look at Whimsicott for exploring their office.
"Well, not right now that we know of. Still waiting for Selene to respond back to my last text right now. Po apparently came across an scent that he had to check out this morning before coming here. That's why y'all have me to deal with me and not Selene herself. " Edmund admitted to the professor before hearing the headquarters phone ringing. " Excuse me Professor Hazel, I need to take that call as it's from headquarters." He said before getting up and going over to the landline phone was.
Let's say that Edmund wasn't expect to hear from Administrator Ranger Beall on the other end of the line. She called to let him know that Selene had been injured and that the doctor had said that it was an sprain wrist. Ranger Beall was giving her three days of medical leave and the rest of this day off due to that. Then the fact that Ranger Beall would be here in the office in Selene's place while she was out..... Edmund wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not but he would see how he could use it to his advantage... She would get there early afternoon so he could go ahead and start his route for the afternoon. ' So I'll still be able to meet Sly later so that would be good. Wasn't looking forward to retrying to reschedule our meeting once again.' He thought to himself as she filled him on on the other stuff. "I'll see you when you get here Ranger Beall. Thank for letting me know what going on with my partner as I was starting to get concern why she hadn't answered my last text to her. Goodbye." Edmund said before hanging up the phone and then headed back to Professor Hazel.
"Well, I do have a update on Selene from Administrator Ranger Beall. While Selene was out and about, she got a sprain wrist and at the Pokemon Center and Dr. Zemaitis is taking care of her currently. She didn't say how Selene sprained though. I guess we'll find out soon enough ." Edmund said, knowing that that Selene and Sly had intereacted with each other already this morning. Even though he didn't know all the details of that yet.
Selene wasn't sure what to think with what has happened with Sly today. She had thought that she had been over him years ago and yet today.... Proved to Selene that she wasn't completely over that Reckless Ryhorn. A sigh escaped her lips before accepting the bottle of pinap juice from Oranguru. She began to drink the juice and wondered when the doctor would be back.
Then Selene realized that her pokemon hadn't been taken to Nurse Joy yet. "Oranguru, could you take my pokemon to Nurse Joy for healing please? I would have given them to her on the way in but due to things went, I didn't get the chance to." Oranguru did so at her request after she got her pokemon belt off that had the pokemon satchel attach to it where her pokemon team was held. Then Oranguru went up front to where Nurse Joy and gave her the Ranger's pokemon to heal. It didn't take long and soon Selene had her pokemon back and all healed up.
' Question is, will I be able to get back to my place before any of my family finds out that I'm injured? I wouldn't be surprised if my brother Kahiau is already on his way here.' She thought to herself as Kahiau had just entered the Pokemon Center. Selene wanted to be able to get away from everyone once she was done here.....

Kahiau thought back to what he said to Sly about how this could be a second chance for the two of them. 'Why did I encourage him to pursue Selene??? Because you know what they once had and want to see the both of them happy together again... I won't encourage her, that for sure. It's his place to fight for it. For Selene's sake, I hope he does. I can't imagine him not unless he has gotten involved in something illegal. Where he would be distancing himself from her to protect her....' He thought to himself as he remember how Sly phased his words. Question would be how deep was he and with what group? Either way, it doesn't look good for his little sister though. 'Been there, done that too...' He thought back to Lisa from years ago...
A frustrated sigh escaped his lips as he found himself walking on the wooden platforms of the village. He headed towards the Pokemon Center to check on Selene. It didn't take long and he went on in. Nurse Joy was busy and hadn't noticed that he had come in so he moved on to the back without her trying to stop him. So Kahiau out leaned against one of the walls in the hallway, waiting for his sister or the doctor and or both to make an appearance.
After studying the pictures, Dr. Zemaitis was pleased to find no hair line fractures in Selene's wrist of any sort. He got a compression bandage and a wrist brace for Selene to use before calling Ranger Beall. He let her know what he knew about Selene's sprain wrist and how she had a high fever due to the inflammation. He suggested that Selene should have the rest of today and tomorrow off but Beall told him to tell Beaumont to be off through Friday. She was firm on when Selene not coming back to work until Saturday. 'Selene is not going to like that but that is Administrator Ranger Beall's call to make.' He thought as went out of the room with the compression bandage and wrist brace... To find Kahiau leaning against the wall in the hallway.
"Kahiau, how am I not surprised to see you here already. She's alright for the most part. But Let me see if she wants you to come on in while I gave the information and wrap her wrist." Horace said before going into the room that Selene was in and asked her about letting her brother in. She nodded yes even though she had the resigned look on her face. So Dr. Zemaitis let her brother into the examination room that she was in. "Good news, there's no hair line fractures in your wrist or hand from the fall. I got you both a compression bandage and wrist brace for you to use. I'll go ahead now and wrap the injured wrist up for you." He mentioned as he moved next to Selene so he could wrap her wrist up properly. He took the ice pack off her wrist and began wrapping it.
"Selene, I already talked to Ranger Beall and she giving you time off through Friday. You start back at work on Saturday. She said she didn't want to see you come into the the office before then as she's coming later today to fill in for you. It was her decision, not mine to make." He said as he saw the look on Selene's face at the news. He couldn't blame her in a way but still..."I'm done now so you are free to go home to take it easy for the next few days. I know this isn't your first time spraining something so you know what you need to do to keep your wrist healing properly. I will see you two another time." He said, leaving the two siblings alone in the room as his pokemon came out with him.
"Thank you for the help today Dr. Zemaitis."Selene back to him before he left the room with his pokemon. Then she looked at her brother, waiting for him to say something..
"So, I know that he's here again as I saw him carry you here." Kahiau admitted to her, letting her know that he had seen Sly with her."With that in mind, I'm not letting you stay out there by yourself. Question is, do you want to stay with me or stay with the folks? I was thinking if you stay at my place tonight, you can invite some of your female friends over for a sleep over. I got to go grocery shopping later so let me know what wines or other things you might want for that. Just didn't want you to be alone tonight after the injury and seeing him again. Didn't want you to do any self harm that you would regret later if you were to stay by yourself tonight." Kahiau said to her, wondering how she was going to take what he said and suggested.
Selene was silent as she listened to what he had to say. She was a little surprised that he didn't going into a mini lecture of staying away from Sly... A part of her wanted to fight against the idea at staying with her parents or Kahiau's houses for tonight. Yet that offer of having some friends over was tempting. Plus, she wanted to show Estelle those pictures and videos from the battle with Sly. "You know, I want to protest at the options you gave me but having a girls' night sounds great. There some videos and pictures I have to show you later. " She said as she pulled her phone out of the backpack and put it in her pocket. She put the wrist brace on gently around her right wrist for now. She got up from the table and headed out of the room to go back to his place for now.
'Well, that went better than I thought it would. I was expecting a fight from her but she didn't do so. ' Kahiau thought to himself as he got her backpack from the table after she got down by herself. Not knowing that he would need the pokemon first aide kit later. He followed her out out the room and the Pokemon Center. "So any thoughts on what you might want me to pick up for the girls night?" Kahiau as they went through the lobby of the center and then out of the building.
"Hmm, not knowing who will be there... I don't think I would invite more than five people though. Could you make those Poni radish burgers that you are known for making? I hadn't had that in a while and the ones you make are the best."Selene said and asked as it has been a while since she had the Poni radish burgers that Kahiau was famous for making. She had some other ideas for what she wanted for the get together but she was feeling the fever go up again as they were on main part of the island. She got out Cœur D'or so she could ride her to Kahiau's house.
"That is something I hadn't fixed in a while so your wish is my command." Kahiau agreed to, as it would bring her some joy and brighten her evening as well. Then he saw her face beginning to flush up again and he was about to scoop her up in his arms but she got Cœur D'or out to ride on. " Once we get back to my place, we can figure out what to get then. Let's focus on getting home for now, just relax while riding on Cœur D'or." He said and Selene nodded her head in agreement as they moved along the path that would take them to Ancient Poni Path.
The office looked pretty much the same to Whimsicott as it had before Ranger Harrison arrived. Still, there must have been something there that she could make razz berry scented, for fun and giggles. Alas her plans were thwarted by a grumpy Heliolisk. Whimsicott gave him a stare and then lifted on her toes and walked back to Hazel giving him her best impression of 'I didn't do anything' face. Wide eyes and whistle lips without actually making any noise. Frankly it was terrible in that it made Whimsicott look like the most suspicious little poke-fluff out there.
None the less she returned to Hazel as Harrison returned with the news. "Oh dear," Professor Hazel remarked, "that is a shame. I do hope the cause of Selene's injury wasn't anything too distressing. Oh hmm." The Professor nodded as she made up her mind, "I should pay the lady a visit and find out. That is to say, I shall! We shall have to chat again soon Ranger Harrison, have a candy." Out of nowhere, or possibly from Whimsicott, Professor Hazel produced wrapped bit of cotton candy on a small paper stick which was about the size of a cake pop. She placed it on top of Harrison's monitor where it delicately balanced as if it was made of air. Which, to be fair, it was for the most part. She waved then and headed out of the building.
Something in the breeze felt off. Was it the sound of the critters in the sky? Maybe. Perhaps. It wasn't migrating time, was it? No. Something had happened, had it? Maybe. Those were a lot of question mark thoughts and absolutely no answers so Hazel shrugged and moved on.
The path to the center was not long and the path to Selene was even shorter as it seemed the lady was no longer there and was instead on the same path as Hazel. She spied up ahead a steelix which had a rather distinctive color carrying a passenger with an individual walking beside. Unless some other pair had found such a unique being it had to have been Selene, Kahiau and Cœur D'or. Hazel picked up a step and waved to the group when she was in sight. "Hello there! I heard from your friend at the station, Selene, you had gotten into a bit of trouble, yeah? Glad to see you're out and about and with your friends and family." She looked to the Cœur D'or and Kahiau as she spoke acknowledging them as 'friends' and 'family.' "Heading home, yeah?" she asked in a conversational manner.

Edmund looked down to see Heliolisk give Whimsicott a disgruntled look."Be nice Heliolisk," he said before hearing what Professor Hazel said next."It is a shame, I do wonder how it happen though. I hope Selene gets to feeling better soon. Oh, thank you for the candy and have a great day.'' Edmund said back to her, wondering whether he had lucked out with her leaving so soon.' She's interesting but the sooner I can get to the canyon, the better. Hopefully Ranger Beall will get here soon so I can head out.' He thought to himself as the professor left.
It was about fifteen minutes later that Ranger Beall came through the front door with two rolling suitcases and her ranger backpack."Welcome back Ranger Beall." Edmund greeted her. "Hello Harrison, you're free to do your tour of duty outside now."" Alright, see you at closing time then." Edmund said before grabbing his ranger backpack and left the office with Heliolisk in tow.
Edmund was at the opening of the Vast Poni Canyon when he pulled out his Team Rocket phone out and sent a text to Sly that he was entering the Vast Poni Canyon now. Then he use an app on his phone to tell Inteleon to come to him in the canyon. Inteleon had a watch like device on his wrist that would receive the message and relay it to him. Once Inteleon got it, he turned off the spycam and left Selene behind to join Edmund in the canyon. He gave the spycam to Edmund to put away before they join Sly. Edmund had both Inteleon and Heliolisk return to their poke balls before reaching Sly.
"I'm here Merrimack so what happened between you and Selene?" Edmund sasked as he joined Sly at the trail site and noticed that all the Hakamo-o and the Totem Kommo-o were gone for now. A part of Edmund didn't want to know what Merrimack did to them to be gone. He knew that the man wasn't someone to trifle with but Merrimack has to listen to Edmund here.....

About time he got here. Merrimack thought as he saw Harrison approaching. While he waited, he'd had Judge use Rest to heal the damage from battling the Kommo-o and Hakamo-o and used the Poké Flute recording to snap him back to alertness, then made sure his team's movesets were well balanced. After that it'd just been waiting for Edmund to show up. "Selene?" Merrimack responded to Harrison's question. "Didn't I already tell you? She got thrown by no less than two of her own Pokémon and had to go see a Doctor." In Sly's opinion, the less he had to tell Harrison about that encounter, the better. Plus he didn't like the idea of this man paying too much attention to Selene, so he tried to steer the conversation back to their mission. "Which is good news for us, 'cause it'll make it that much easier for us to get what we came here for. You do remember what that is, right?"

Edmund listened to what Merrimack had to say. He did notice how he lead the conversation back to the mission. " Your text came in while I was talking to Professor Hazel so I hadn't read it. Plus, I had to wait until Selene's replacement came in before coming out. Her replacement is Ranger Beall for now." He said wondering how Sly might react to that name.
Then he noticed that Sly had his Steelix out that he had heard a lot about in Team Rocket."I do know what the mission is Merrimack. I may need to romance her to get the info we need. I still have to pretend to care for my ranger partner even though she doesn't have a clue who I really am. I don't think she has remember me yet from long ago when she came to Galar where I was her tour guide before joining Team Rocket. I still have something of hers from back then that I have been meaning to give back to her." Edmund said without mentioning that it was a necklace that her friend had given her. The same friend that she traded her Onix to get Po...' Wait.... Her first Onix was named Judge just like Merrimack's Steelix is name Judge... Is it possible that this is the same Judge? If that's true, it's Sly that is her friend that she refuses to mention his name to me... ' He thought to himself as he looked the Steelix over, debating whether to ask Merrimack about it.
For a while nothing more happened but Sly tending to his Pokemon. No more Pokemon came to fight them and yet Sly and the Steelix continued to hang out, obviously waiting for someone to come or something to happen. Dan did not mind waiting to see, nor did Jolteon still hidden behind a rock, nor Pidgeot who was perched on a boulder atop a cliff overlooking the canyon. But Dan could tell that Rockruff was starting to get bored. The Pokemon looked like he might fall asleep, so Dan returned him to his Pokeball so he could rest and not have to worry.
When a thing finally happened, it was that another man came to meet up with Sly. Dan and his Pokemon were at full focus immediately, knowing that they were witnessing something they absolutely should not be. The man who had just arrived turned out to be a Ranger, or posing as a Ranger; he was really in Team Rocket! They're all the way out here now? Dan wondered. Then Sly was a member of Team Rocket, too. Did Kahiau know? They talked about Selene, and this other man said he might have to romance her to get information. Dan nearly held his breath as he eagerly continued to eavesdrop.

Dreadnought Sly Merrimack

Judge had been waiting at the trial site with Sly. He knew Tapu Fini would eventually restore Kommo-o to his rightful place, but Judge and Merrimack would be long gone by then, so for now the Steelix was Lord of the Canyon. After a while one of Merrimack's Team Rocket associates showed up. As he and Sly exchanged words, Selene's name was mentioned. And Judge didn't like how the other man said her name.
Sly felt a flash of anger at Edmund's comment about 'romancing' Selene, but before he even had a chance to respond, Judge was looming over the man. "Gihi. You might want to watch how you talk about Selene around Judge. He used to be her Pokémon, after all." Sly said with a grin. "I'm sure they told you, I'm from this island. It's why I was assigned to this operation after all. And as chance would have it, I went to school with that little 'partner' of yours back before I joined Team Rocket."

Selene wasn't expecting to see Professor Hazel today but the woman was a source of comfort to her. Yet she had hoped that Professor Hazel wouldn't have already known about her injury though. 'The Alolan grapevine seem to be in the know already... Well, the Poni Island one anyways... ' "Hi Professor Hazel. Indeed I have but it's over with for now thankfully." She said as they reach each other on the path. "Heading to Kahiau's place as I'm staying there tonight. Speaking of that, have any plans tonight? He's letting me have a girls night and you are invited to it. After he cooks us some of his famous Poni radish burgers, he'll stay somewhere else for the night." Selene said as she wondered if Professor Hazel would come.
Kahiau let Selene to be the one talking to Professor Hazel for now as he thought about what he and Sly had talked about earlier. A part of him wished that he hadn't encourage the male to court Selene.... Then he heard Selene inviting Professor Hazel to the event tonight."That's right, feel free to come tonight. I know she has a tall tale to tell tonight to all her close lady friends. A tale I want to hear as well later on but y'all get first dibs though on hearing." He said, letting his sister know that he wants to know what the deal was from her point of view later.

Edmund was taken back at how Judge responded to what he had to say." I'm sorry Judge, I didn't meant it to sound like any disrespect to Selene. She's a wonderful person and she does have my highest respect. Whoever does captures her heart is a blessed man indeed. It's a shame that our Dreadnought Sly Merrimack let her slip through his fingers." He said as he knew for sure now it was Sly that Selene wasn't able to say his name....
