Saph panted as the fight went on. He almost teared up at how strong the other was before using a new attack. He blew bubbles at the Diglett. It cried as the bubbles attacked him causing the ground type to faint. Trinity smiled happy for the little guy before returning him. Jet was out next and he quickly took care of the Sandshrew. Trinity then walked to the Gym Leader confidently. "I'm Brock the gym leader of this gym and I'm assuming you going to challenge me for the boulder badge?" Brock asked walking over to a nice part of his gym where he accepts battles. Trinity smiled, "Yes, I'm here to take that nice badge from your hands then be on my way." She said as she tossed out Aster. Aster confidently stood as Brock sent out a Geodude. Trinity commanded, "Aster, use horn attack." Aster charged on the Geodude but it dodged. Aster tried again. Geodude grunted before using defense curl then using tackle. Aster grunted then Trinity ordered another horn attack. Geodude cried horribly as the horn dug in to his rock skin. The pain was critical causing the other to faint. Brock didn't wait before sending out Onyx. Aster gulped looking up at the grinning rock snake. Trinity returned Aster before looking at Shadow, "Your up, buddy." She said waving a hand to the field.

Shadow gave a smirked and went onto the battlefield, settling into a fighting stance with an eager gleam in his eye. He raised a paw, making the universal "come at me, bro" gesture. When Onix roared an acceptance to his challenge, he only smirked wider, showing a little fang in his smirk.

As soon as the referee told the battlers to begin, Onix roared out again and rushed the black Lucario with impressive speed for a thing of its size... Only for Shadow to vanish in a burst of speed via Quick Attack. When Onix stopped to look around in confusion, Shadow took the opportunity to rush up the Rock Snake Pokémon's body, reappearing in front of its face and slamming a Power-Up Punch at its cheek strong enough to send it reeling. "I see... you're pretty fast, aren't you? Onix, use Dig!" As Shadow landed, he saw Onix dive underground and clicked his tongue, an amused little smirk on his face; really, did he think he could hide from an Aura user? Sure enough, Shadow easily dodged Onix's attack as the Rock-type burst to the surface... "Now, use Bind!" ...Only for the black Lucario to yelp in surprise and pain as he suddenly found himself being squeezed, panicking as he felt the Rock-type's tail closing in on him. However, he managed to retain enough of his faculties to instinctively flare his Aura, the black energy blasting out in a small circle around him and forcing the Rock-type to let go. Shadow quickly landed on his feet, panting slightly as he calmed down, watching the Onix warily as he waited for his opponent's next move.

Trinity watched the battle when Shadow was caught in the bind she bit her lower lip. She sighed in relief when he got out of the hold. Her eyes tracked the movement of the Onyx. She caught some important information, "Shadow, he is favoring his other side because of that attack you did." She said while keeping track of the field to see if Shadow could use it to his advantage.

Shadow idly wondered how she could tell, but put it out of his mind as it started raining boulders. He took a few hits, but quickly recovered, zipping into a Quick Attack and rushing toward the giant rock snake, leaving a black streak behind him as opposed to the standard white. Once there, he leaped, slamming full-body into the already-injured side of Onix's head, sending it reeling once more. After that, Shadow backflipped away, then leaped, delivering one last Power-Up Punch to the head that slammed Onix's head down with enough force to knock the Rock-type out. The referee raised his arm. "Onix is unable to battle! Shadow wins, which means the battle goes to Trinity!" Shadow allowed himself a smirk as he walked over to his Trainer, the thrill of the fight still pumping through his veins and making him feel a little giddy.

Shadow turned bright-red at the feeling of Trinity's lips on his cheek, having not expected that. In Shadow's Mind: "Hello, this is Control to the Frontal Lobe, we've got a Code Pink, what should we do?" ... "Hello? Anybody there?" ... "Hello-o-o? Anybody?" ... "Dammit, of all the times for those assholes to take a break... guess I'll just have to force-reboot..." Fortunately, by the time Trinity walked back over, Shadow managed to recover enough to gain some semblance of rational thought, though his cheeks were still a little pink.

Trinity smiled walking back. She was confused seeing Shadow not following with her to get the badge. "Shadow? You ok over there? Maybe we should get you checked by Nurse Joy. You did almost get crushed by that Onyx." She said concerned for him. Trinity grabbed his paw making sure this time he followed. At the poke center, Trinity had everyone checked over while showing off the badge to everyone. Torch cheered while Saph asked Shadow how was his battle.

Trinity returned her Pokemon in to their balls then looked at Shadow. "Ok, I think a good night's sleep will take care of that." She said smiling. She ordered a couple pizzas for her room. The young trainer walked up to her room. Her Pokemon were let out again. The pizza was delivered and Trinity paid. Torch and Jet were enjoying the pepperony pieces as Aster and Saph had the cheese. Trinity offered a whole one to Shadow as she ate her mushroom and spinach pizza. Torch looked at how close his trainer and the dark-fighting type where now. "Anything happen to you two?" He asked curiously. Jet looked up interested.

Torch sighed then ate more of his pizza. Trinity smiled looking over the group. She was happy to have such good Pokémon. She looked at Shadow blushing slightly at how handsome he looks. Even though, she told him that she didn't think of him as a possibility for her, she was lying through her teeth. She was shocked he didn't catch that. She sighed finishing her pizza ready to get to sleep to get some rest. Trinity knew they will be traveling through a mountain that was legendary for all of the Zubat in it.

Trinity and her team went to bed soon. The next morning, Trinity was looking over her supplies to make sure her team and herself survived the travel in Mt Moon. Torch looked at how worried his trainer was and nuzzled her arm. She smiled at him before saying, "Sorry to be such a worrywart, I just have to be sure we have enough supplies." She said picking him up and hugging him. Torch sighed then looking to Shadow to calm her. The team was going to leave soon for the mountain.
