((XDDD That's okay~ Just play it relaxed, then! =u=b))

Hearing that the virus got destroyed without much trouble was news. Good news, at that! Now that was one less thing to worry about! Certainly, he still had to be careful around them although not as much anymore, now that he knew the virus did absolutely no harm to Amarante. So, that meant no more holding back during tussles...? Nah, he'd still stick to not using that method unless necessary. Which he was hoping would never be, anyway. He'd be useless either way.

He picked up the file in silence, flipping through the pages and scanning the details with practiced accuracy. Not a single bad reaction from the cells at all! And of course, the reports were detailed enough to place as a informative addendum to his textbook for future reference. Couldn't have been more satisfied with her work.

"Um... The sample I gave you, it was incinerated after the tests were done, right?" He had to admit, he still didn't trust Miyabi entirely, so safety precautions had to be in place in the event that someone - not necessarily Miyabi, he had to remind himself - might run off with the sample. Sure, it was not well-known, and most only looked for the non-mutated variant, but there were... exceptions. He handed the file back, watching her closely. Surely she was not one to be fiddling with potential bio-weapons unsupervised, was she?

(( Right! XD ))

Oddly, Miyabi seemed surprised rather than offended by the question. "Mm? That's what we agreed upon, wasn't it? Or at least, what's standard, given that you mentioned nothing about getting it back." To her it was just another nameless virus, even if the study was a request from her usual subject. "The whole lot of it was incinerated, both tissue and pathogen. One might argue the futility of destroying tissue that destroys itself in a matter of days, but... we are thorough." There was a sense of pride that came across from those last three words, as she was certainly proud of the institution she assisted in managing despite the less than savory business it dabbled in at times.

Her eyes narrowed a bit with the tilt of her head. "I brought her with me, as I said before. She's upstairs, if you'd like to see her." Thus far his actions towards Amarante were nothing that Miyabi could find any fault in. Regardless, she seemed intent upon keenly observing what she could. Within reason, of course. Hers was not the role of a meddling child after all, but of a wary scion. She'd expected to deal with a situation along the same lines eventually. But starting things off with a medical study? She gave them points for creativity. Strangeness? Decidedly different, whatever it was.

"I hope she's getting her rest. And not purposely waiting for cookies up there. Oh well."

He had come prepared, at least. The oven at home had not been fixed, and he had followed (which meant 'interpret') as best as his could the recipe. Surprisingly, there was not a large truck or box in sight, unlike what he had promised before.

"That would be good. Thank you. I still have my end of a deal to hold up."

He steps back to allow her to lead. Behind them, an ashen hand curls itself around the edge of the table its owner was parked at, unknown to the doctor.

"Oh yes. Um... Were there any questions you have? I guess I could answer them before we head up?" He was not used to people not asking questions at all. They would be curious, poking as to his purposes for his requests, but Miyabi was oddly quiet and automatic about it. That was a good thing, yes, but not what he expected. So there had to be questions somewhere!
PostPosted: Sun Aug 10, 2014 10:04 pm

There was definitely a self-satisfied look in her dark grey eyes as Miyabi stood up. "Of course she has! We've made sure of that." A maid, an android, and a deity somehow made a good team to forcefully take care of a healing abomination.

Mention of a 'deal' made her eye him with a dubious look as she led him to see Amarante. A look that only intensified upon being asked if she had questions. It was simple enough to avoid asking them when she didn't really allow herself to come up with them in the first place. Still, it seemed to be a gesture offered in an attempt at kindness? Something like that. Would be remiss of her to reject it. "As long as you understand that it's not protocol to ask you anything." He probably meant based on the matter at hand. And frankly, it was just easier to go with that. "I guess I don't understand why a study was necessary in the first place." Not phrased as a question. More just a calmly-stated statement. But close enough. She had her ideas, but they had no real basis other than conclusions she'd made from her observations. She doubted herself for a moment, however, asking an actual question to go along with her not-question. "Or is that something that can't be answered?"

".... Safety precautions. There is a good reason why I have to wear these." He holds up his hands, all wrapped snugly in pristine white gloves. Perhaps it might have explained why he never seemed to try picking lighter clothing, and opting to stay inside when the weather called for the summer wear. "For the safety of the general population, so we do not have to deal with a mass epidemic."

Sure, his voice was still flat and emotionless, but talking about it seemed easier, more matter-of-fact than it had once been. Suppose he had come to terms with it at last? The eavesdropper let out a low gasp in surprise.

Had the doctor noticed? Hmm, perhaps not. He had simply stuffed his hands back into his pockets.

"... If there's nothing else, then I suppose we could go upstairs. Shall we?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 11, 2014 2:44 pm

For a moment there was the push to delve deeper. After all, one could argue what real benefit could be gained from testing what was in essence a tiny and synthetic part of an already obscure population. But he hadn't hesitated in answering, and the answer itself seemed pretty heavy to begin with. And it was an honest answer, and that made it satisfactory. "I see. Understood. We'll be off, then." She gestured forth with her forearm in her usual polite manner. Perhaps an odd reaction to such an answer, but similarly, an honest one. A living plague couldn't shock a laboratory experiment too much. She hadn't been especially generous in her treatment of him thus far, but even against her prudent manner he'd managed to come off looking at least acceptable.

Her curiosity hadn't been sated quite yet, however, but she'd have the answer she sought soon enough. She felt a little guilty, thinking over it as she led him upstairs. Well, it wasn't as if she'd insisted in order to satisfy her own selfish whim. The healing had gone much faster than it would have otherwise because she'd insisted. And ultimately it was something the unusual-looking girl saw as mandatory. Her resolve was firm as she unlocked the door.

There was a flurry and flash of grey that disappeared with a surprised squeak into the dark mass that was the bed upon the door opening. A very green and orange android was seated on a chair next to the bed, unnaturally green eyes wide and bright from the sudden commotion in the room. The other occupant of the room seemed to have successfully hidden herself... aside from a patch of red that was the top of her head. Upon that shock of red hair two small black cat ears seemed to be monitoring the situation, rotating to catch even the slightest of sounds. The android was about to vocalize in greeting when Miyabi raised an open palm to quiet her, then lifted the same hand to her head to make a clutching gesture. The solution to the shyness problem was pretty simple. And apparently enjoyable if the gleeful flash from the android's optics was any indication. She leaned in towards the bed, making the effort to scratch behind the nearest of the cat ears. There was a start and a bit of a gasp from the pile of bedding, which resulted in the hidden head leaning into the scratching hand. Distracted by the sensation her grip on the coverings relaxed, revealing a relaxed expression upon a grey face.

For a moment, anyway. It didn't take Amarante long to figure out that she'd been exposed. She pulled the blankets to her waist, cat ears flattened and casting an indignant look at an amused Miyabi with her red eye. "What a dirty trick! Hnn~" The sound of irritation fell into a sigh upon the sight of Erhard. Her expression was pleasant enough, but filled with a great deal of humility. "Long time no see~?" A joke made regarding her current appearance, naturally. She pulled in her folded and shawl-covered wings a little closer as if in an effort to comfort herself.

The most appropriate reaction was supposed to have been smile and laugh awkwardly as a return greeting, then greet both the room's occupants. Supposed to, so he ends up staring blankly at the both of them before quickly giving them both an awkward wave instead.

"... Apologies, were we um, interrupting something?"

It was understandable that Amarante would not want to keep the disguise on while recuperating - well, if resting meant that there would be no one disturbing her, and she had no need to present herself to someone else anyway - so he had not thought much about that. A good thing she was not in a hospital, then. No one seemed to ever want to wear those breezy hospital gowns, or run down the corridors in one. That was a good deterrent, huh.

"I hope you're doing well so far. We went through the file downstairs, and... um. The results are quite good news." With the barely contained tone of relief in his voice, too. For once someone else (perhaps a bunch now) he didn't have to worry about all the time about that.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 11, 2014 8:30 pm

Oh, he hadn't reacted at all. Miyabi felt a little happy about that. More than one person's inconsiderate comments had led to Amarante's sensitivity about her actual appearance and there weren't going to be more if Miyabi could help it. One less thing to worry about, it seemed. There was a small smile on her face as she closed the door and made her way inside, encouraging him to do the same. "Umm, you can pull up a chair if you'd like." With a nod she did just that, locating herself a short distance from the other chair.

Amarante was glad to see Miyabi in good spirits. Harhar. And had a sarcastic reply to what she assumed was a joke from Erhard. "Haa~ Interrupting what? Being watched over and mercilessly snuggled by a teenage robot?" Of which said robot had resumed, smiling brightly and petting Amarante's ears all the while. The demon made an attempt to wriggle free but ultimately settled on sheepishly petting the green-haired girl's head instead. It was hardly something to put her into a bad mood anyway, especially considering the situation at hand. "Mm! Well. Not maintaining a different appearance cuts down on the healing time somewhat, because that energy reserve is freed up you see~" In any sort of vulnerable state she'd really rather stay cloaked, but for such a voluntary and brief period it was all the better to change and have it pass by more quickly.

And of course she was hardly as reserved when reacting to the news, dreamy look in her eye and all. "I'm so glad~" That look was quick to turn to mischief. "Are you~?"

Suppose he was kind of happy that he didn't get cuddled so aggressively by his own roommate? Not only would he be crushed to bits in seconds the same way a meat grinder would crush a porcelain doll, but he could not see that fellow as.... well, the word 'cheerful' certainly did not suit him at all.

But never mind about that, he walked over to the nearest table, a little amused at the two. Was this something that happened often? Perhaps, the way they looked so close. And also taking note of the slight inclination to walk over and join the petting session - nah.

"Would I say it was good news if it was not to me? Besides..."

He pulled out a jar (now, how did a jar big enough to contain at least one head fit under his coat?) and set it on the table. Full of little bite-sized Florentines! Was he going easy on her? Sure, not wanting to upset Miyabi by making Amarante fall sick and all, but did he not promise enough to make anyone reach for the antacids? Oh well.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 12, 2014 4:00 pm

Feeling that her patient had been aggressively cuddled enough for the time being, Miyabi made her wishes known. "That's enough for now, Gumi. She's mostly healed but likely still tender."

"But Ama-ma is so soft! With fuzzy ears! Hmm~" Gumi puffed out her cheeks and was reluctant to release her grip on the cattish demon but eventually relented, leaving Amarante to clamber further into the bedding again. That of course left Gumi free to inspect the humanoid in the room with whom she was not familiar, beelining over to Erhard without a moment's hesitation. "Greetings! I am Gumi of Megpoid! Concurrent to Irazoki Miyabi! Destroyer of potatoes!" She stood with her usual alternated arm and left lift pose, Miyabi shaking her head in the background at the last part of Gumi's statement. Well, what was said otherwise was relevant. Good enough. There was a low and curious hum as she looked him over. Could've served as a warning for what was to follow. "Who are you? What is your function? How do you know Ama-ma? Are you two going to get married and have fuzzy-eared babies together? Oh! Can I visit and cuddle them too, if you do? Where are you from anyway? What kind of things do you like to do? Oh, when are you from is a good question too! And why are you here?" There was no opportunity for him to answer a question before another question came, which was just as well since it seemed that answers weren't the point. Asking was the fun part!

That is, until it got her into trouble. "Don't mind her." With surprising strength Miyabi hooked her arms under Gumi's to carry the android back to her chair. "But I just wanted to ask~" A nod of acknowledgment from Miyabi was apparently enough to get a disinclined Gumi to sit down and behave for a while.

Amarante's face had met her palms at some point during the bizarre question-and-who-cares-about-the-answers session. She recovered as gracefully as she could from being demeaned to receive his answer and offering. That sort of retort was far better than a simple 'yes.' She'd grown fond of even the more sullen parts of his nature, it seemed. Silly creature. And being that she was indeed a creature of great sentimentality, she was quick to crumble to the sweet feelings she was struck by upon the sight of that jar. If the soft look in her eye and the way she covered the lower half of her face with both hands was any indication, anyway. She was beyond saving. Doomed!

The teenaged girls were swift in noticing the emotional shift. Regarding the ridiculous pile of a person in the bed, anyway. How was it that a jar of cookies lent itself to a mature mood in the room? Miyabi liked them both well enough, but neither one of them was really all that sophisticated. A living weapon and a plague incarnate. Nothing particularly classy there. Though maybe the unusual quality of a weapon having affection for a plague made it appear to have some unattainable level of refinement to begin with, at least to more 'normal' occurrences like androids and deities. Duly impressed, they exchanged glances but kept quiet. Which helped the situation very little, as their admiring gaze towards Amarante's person was something she found rather unnerving. "Wh-what is it?" She ducked down a bit, as if she could somehow be able to hide within the bed. Having teenagers around was definitely troublesome.

So how was it that a teenager was able to sear his face a bright red just by the mention of marriages and babies and.... How embarrassing, but he was glad she didn't go all the way and start calling Amarante his 'special someone' - ah! No wait! That's not it at all, stop putting words in others' mouths! The troubles that one can get to with a relatively unseen onlooker that decided to get a chair for the mini-sitcom... And no, the snarky blue commentary was certainly not welcomed - from either one - and stop thinking about the babies! He didn't do a test for that! And no he shouldn't turn around and suddenly ask for that, no way!

Though... Potato destroyer. Someone might have a field day with that. Probably best to keep that in mind, in case any potato pranks were up in the queue.

"That's okay. I suppose she is curious after all. Nice to meet you, Miss Gumi." Yeah, like he didn't know at least one person who would swarm all over any guests he brought home once given the chance. So yes, he was used to that kind of childishness. How odd, what kind of child would even dare to go near someone like him?

"I... I'll just leave this here, then," he said, pointing to the cookie jar, "and you can keep the container for the leftovers." Oh yes, he was going easy. The jar had a bottom, so no infinite amount of cookies could be poured out of it. Or maybe because someone else managed to devour most of the cookies before he could pack them away for Amarante, who knew?

"Go easy on them, though! I don't suppose your friends would want to start raiding any nearby medicine cabinets if you ate too much at one go."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 12, 2014 10:16 pm

Miyabi looked between the two adults with a thoughtful expression, only to turn to Gumi in the end. "That would turn out rather cute, I think." To which Gumi nodded vigorously in agreement. Meddling kids!

A furiously flushing Amarante was hiding in her bed, tail lashing all the while. "Ah, not you too~" It was a rather... endearing idea, actually, but skipping a lot of steps in-between to be sure! And it was none of their business anyway! "And s-stop talking about it as if we can't hear you! Mrr~"

The subject change to the cookies was a welcome one. "Oh, I was going to ask if I'd have to eat them in one sitting. One day? Both possible~" She was still hiding but looking at Erhard cheerfully. "Though having some time to enjoy them... would be nice." Embarrassing suggestions aside, she was still quite pleased to not only see him but receive something from him as well.

Miyabi tilted her head with some concern. "Were you leaving on account of us, Mr. Erhard? We can be on our way, if we're intruding." She was quick to clap a hand over the android's mouth, lest any more procreation suggestions came out of there. "No particular reason." No need to have them scared of each other over such silliness. "She's fine for company, really. Just don't play rough with her like a nosy android." Mouth still covered by Miyabi's hand, Gumi was still looking both exuberant and unrepentant for everything she'd suggested.

He shot a quick glance at the jar. To put up a little challenge for her? No thanks.

"One day. And if you don't feel like eating anymore, then don't, okay?"

Ah, did he come off as wishing to leave? Well, maybe, if the slight uneasiness was anything to go by - not Gumi or Miyabi's fault, however. Something else entirely. "Um, no, that's not it. Apologies. Umm..."

He still was not entirely sure if they were going to really leave or just stand outside and eavesdrop - hey, cut them some slack! Curious teens just love gossip, after all! But embarrassing, so embarrassing...

"Or would the both of you like to stay and help Ama with her food then?"

That is, if Amarante could share. He expected her not to, or at least maybe take the biggest portion for herself since it was mainly meant for her anyway. But to not offer cookies to others in the same room would be just rude. And there should be enough to go around maybe three times over anyway.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 13, 2014 3:02 am

The increased level of awkwardness didn't leave Miyabi encouraged to stay and socialize. It almost seemed like those few random questions had struck some sort of nerve. Too much tension that they needed to resolve themselves. Whether they used the time alone to talk things through or simply to relax wasn't really any of Miyabi's concern. At that moment disturbing them further just seemed like a bad idea.

Miyabi had removed her hand from Gumi, and the two looked between themselves and nodded. "We really should be going. I trust that I can leave her with you and you won't let her escape or do anything else--" 'Stupid' was definitely the right word, but better to be a little more kind for the time being. "Unwise." It was still a word that the quivering pile of a person on the bed frowned at, but nothing more. Perhaps it was her conscience nagging at her, but she felt the need to be at least a little encouraging. "Look after her, okay? She needs you." Probably came off with a bit of a scolding tone to it, if only because of who the suggestion came from. Ah well. Wasn't as if he was obligated to listen to her or do as she said, after all. And it was a pretty vague suggestion to begin with. Enough to garner a puzzled look from Amarante, so nothing so heavy as to upset them it seemed. "If there's nothing further, we'll be off."

But how? What was that supposed to mean? And what.... Oh wait, instead of thinking it in that perspective, shift it around. Miyabi left Amarante in his care, and it is his duty as a healer to make sure the patient is fully recovered before anything else. Right, that's a better way to put it.

"Very well. I'll see to it that she doesn't get worse instead of better."

Hands clasped behind his back, he gave the two a curt little nod, then walked over to Amarante and sat down by the foot of the bed. Just as he opened his mouth to start with the bedside manner, his voice choked on the lack of anything to say.

"Um..... Ahem. Um. How are you feeling now?"
