Rena was glad things seemed to be calming down a bit, but she knew that the good times would only be temporary, they always where. Although the comment of dragon caused her to visualize a large dragon atop a mountain of treasure in the nearby junkyard, there which Rena would have to slay the mighty beast to retirive a statue of Colonel Sanders to take home with her. This thought pleased Rena, but there would be no time for aimless fantasies. What she had to concentrate on was the reality of the situation in which a girl unknown to her was playing with the emotions of her friend. She wanted to like this girl but, she felt she just couldn't trust her. Maybe if they were alone she could tell the girl about the curse, and maybe figure out her true thoughts. "He Mion could you go get me some Pajamas from inside. I forgot to tell you I needed some earlier, i'm sorry." She said holding her hand up to her face with innocent eyes. This would give her and Chiiri a chance to be alone and talk.

"Oh Yeah, I'll try and find a
pair of my older ones so they aren't too long
and the shirt isn't to big. Also I'll set up the futons
for everyone to sleep on tonight."
With that Mion got up and went into the house
and traveled to her room and began looking for pajamas.

Chiiri watched Mion go inside and locked eyes with Rena.
"You wanted to say something, right?" She asked.

A shadow from the night was cast over Rena's face "This village is cursed...A being named Oyashiro watches over this place. She walked towards Chiiri then stopped in front of her "And anyone who threatens this village and it's people dies every year, mostly outsiders. So i'd be careful who's skin you get under, just for your own safety." Rena walked closer to Chirri
"Oyashiro has told me these things, watching me...every night."Rena heard a whisper in her ear "Kill her"
Rena turned around "What!?" the voice continued "It will be her or you, for not doing your duty to protect this village from outsiders."She yelled back to the voice "Hating her for all her questions is one thing, but I just can't do that!" The voice grew louder "Then you will suffer until you change your mind."Rena began to hallucinate bugs crawling in her skin as she began scratching her arms profusely.

Chiiri stared at her, unsure of how she felt. She wasn't afraid, or so much as frightened. Oliver sat on the bench, licking his lips, his yellow eyes glinting in the moonlight. Chiiri was well aware of the curse, and the mysterious deaths and disappearances. She always studied up on anything she did, especially when it came to moving to a new town.
She's cursed.
She was unsure of what to do, though.
On the edge of her vision, she saw a bush rustle down the dirt road.
Mion's guards will detain her for sure...
"Rena, let's head inside and meet Mion." Chiiri stood up, Oliver hopping onto her shoulder. Chiiri grabbed Rena's arm and pulled her inside, shutting the door behind herself.
"We can talk about this later, Rena. And stop scratching your arms like that. The guards have guns. "

As Rena began to be pulled inside Mion's house she flipped unto the floor and regained control of her arms, she took one of her arms again and quickly dug her nails deeper into her other arm. In reality she was just bleeding, but in her mind maggots began pouring out all over the floor. She couldn't make out what Chiiri was saying, so she just went to clawing deeper into her arm. She thought she heard Mion upstairs for a second then within moments she looked over to not see any maggots at all, she either got them all out or they simply crawled off, what she did see is giant nail marks down her left arm which were bleeding profusely. She looked up at Cherri who had pulled her inside, she had a change of heart as she thought "poor girl it really had to suck thatt she was getting involved in all this." Rena stared up at her and smiled "I'm sorry" she said, as she passed out on the floor. Either from blood loss or shock, who can say? Maybe both.

The phone has rang as Mion finished setting up and room and had the pajamas ready, She answered it.
"Yeah....I know.." Her voice was sullen.
Then she heard the commotion in the next room .
"I got to go." Quickly she hung up the phone, as she returned she saw
Rena passed out on the floor, her arms covered in blood.
"Rena!"
Mion rushed to her side and helped her up,
examining her arms. Then she looked up at Chiiri.
"She did this to herself, didn't she?
I'm sorry you had to witness that..
Will you get me a wet wash cloth and some bandages from the bathroom? It's down the hall and to the left.
Also, there's a syringe in there too. Get that as well."

Chiiri wasn't sure what happened, but regardless, she rushed down the hall and into the bathroom. She flung open the cabinet and grabbed one of the syringes, towels, and bandages.
This is nothing like reading about the curse in the book...
She ran some water in the sink, dumping the towels inside.
What the ******** grabbed the towels, running back down the hallway.
"Here, I don't know if it's the right syringe..." She said, setting it down on the ground.
Chiiri gave the two some space, backing into the wall and watching from afar.

Mion wiped the blood
off of Rena's arms and dried them before wrapping the bandages
around the wounds.
"Yeah, that's the right one." She took the cap
off the syringe then felt Rena's upper arm before pushing
the needle into her skin and injecting the fluid into her.
After she pulled the needle out, Mion put a small bandage
on the spot and wiped the rest of the blood off the floor.
She stood up and put the syringe in a trash bin.
"Help me get her up so we can change her clothes
and lay her down please.."

Chiiri grabbed both of Rena's ankles, picking her up with Mion. She helped set her aside, and then left the room to compose herself.
She wasn't sure what to think, but she felt strange. She really didn't want to stay here, but she didn't want to leave Mion here.
So she sat herself down, unsure of whether to trust anyone.
Worst...first...day...ever.

After helping to change Rena when Chiiri left, Mion put Rena into her bed.
For a moment she stared at her dear friend.
"I'm sorry you have to suffer through this Rena...but the medicine should help at least..I'm sorry."
Mion left the room and saw Chiiri who looked confused and flustered. She knelt down by her and put a hand on her shoulder and gave a weak smile.
"I'm really sorry about that. Rena hasn't been very stable since her parents divorce. She suffers from mild depression and slight schizophrenia.
Which explains the voices...and her clawing at her arms.
She's normally a very sweet and happy girl though. Just make sure not to get on her bad side, Like by mentioning Oyashiro-sama's curse to her.
She takes it too seriously and those freak outs usually happen.
I tried to steer away from the topic of that for Rena's sake, and so you wouldn't have to bare witness to that as well."

"I'm not an idiot, Mion. She's cursed by Oyashiro, isn't she?" Chiiri didn't look up from Oliver in her lap. "I read up a lot about this town before I cam here. I know about the deaths, the disappearances. I know you wanted to try and keep me 'safe,' but I know almost all there is to know about this town. I know about the dam, and I know about the dismemberment."
Chiiri really did know tons about Hinamizawa. Being the book worm she was, she had already read several books about the small village. Chiiri was very tired. She had yet to sleep, and all this was happening at once. She could barely keep her head up, let alone continue this with Mion.

Mion couldn't explain everything to Chiiri but it was bad that she only knew these things about Hinamizawa.
How much more did she knows? Did she know about Mion's secret as well?
She couldn't say for sure. She didn't want to.
At this point she had no choice. She looked behind Chiiri and behind her was a guard. Mion gave a slight nod of her head.
Chiiri did look like she was ready to pass out so it wouldn't be strange.
The guard used a dart to knock Chiiri unconscious.
"I understand. Good Night, Chiiri."
With that Mion had the guard pick Chiiri up and set her in Mion's room with Rena on a futon next to her bed. Mion took the opportunity to check on Rena,

Rena was tossing around in her sleep, kicking her legs back and fourth and flipping over a few times. She began to giggle in her sleep. In her mind however she pictured herself rolling around on a beach next to Keiichi, playing around in the same. Since she fell uncoscious she pictured the whole scenario from her arriving on the beach with Keiichi, to them having a picnic, to now them rolling around playing in the sand.

I wonder what she's dreaming about...Mion thought. I hope it's not about the curse. Did I give her too much medicine maybe?
Mion placed her hand out Rena's forehead.
Her temp. seems to be normal..I guess I shouldn't worry too much about it.
