"As Grandmother said, he will use you to destroy your Village so most likley the are still alive, as for why i travel with the Caravan, its because i was raised by Grandmother after my parents died, i was born here though, my parents were acrobats, we entertained the Villages and Cities within the Kingdoms, all except the Outlands and Tal'rukk. unlike alot of people my parents didn't die by the hands of Tal'rukk, a house in one of the Cities had caught fire and they died helping others trapped inside escape." She said jumping down after Hunter and rolled when she hit the ground to lessen the impact, hopping easily back up onto her feet and following after the Kitsune. when he inquired about the short sword at her hip she giggled. "I'm okay with it, We only practice a little sword play here and there, what we are good at is Magic." she grabbed the hilt of the sword but didn't unsheath it. "Why? were you thinking about a 'small' duel?" she asked, seemily unaware that she switched to thrid person again, like it was natural.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Old elf smiled satisfied with his reaction and walked back over ot her chair and sta down. "These old bones of mine..." she complained as a few of her joints creaked and cracked. "Not as young as i once was...such a long life." she said, though she didn't seem to be talking to Firion, mainly herself. she looked over at the Dragon boy as he said he wanted to show her somthing, but she remained seated, she could see very well from her place in her chair. "Hm? and what would that be dear?" she asked tilting her head to the side, a habit she picked up from being around to many Wild Born over her long life.
Not if I have anything to say about it! Hunter though to himself as he gritted his teeth, let out a quiet growl, his hand not on the hilt part of his sword, but what looked like a piece of burnt rope tied to it. I made a promise I intend to keep after all.
Her question about the duel snapped his mind back to the present, he answered her as he continued walking, "I would if it wasn't for two things. One, I don't fight girls unless I'm proovoked and/or fighting for my life against her and two, both back home and at the arena i was one of the best swordsmen there," He responded to her grinning, "and if you are as unpracticed in swordplay as you say you are I could really hurt you, or worse and the last thing I want to do is really hurt you and piss off anyone here that could help us with the 'heroic mission' that we have to do."
Hunter stopped walking only when they got under the tree that Sierra was sitting on to shake it by hitting it. "You gonna join the land of the living, or just planning one looking busy and sulky up there the rest of the night?" He hollered up into the tree.
Fortunately Sierra had just finished cleaning and was just sitting there for the moment, the moment after Hunter shook the tree she was down on the ground in a heart beat with her dagger drawn and pointed towards his throat, "What I do is none of your business fox." She glared at him, a muscle in her cheek twitched as she glared at him longer, then her look went to the fox woman next to him, and in one swift moment the dagger was gone and sheathed at her side, she then turned on her heel and walked away from them and to a part of the caravan that was less occupied. She wasn't in the least bit sulky, if it were possible she would leave this group in a second, but considering the circumstances it seemed that that would not be possible til the job of "dispatching" this dark king business was through. She found an unoccupied tree and leaned against it facing away from the troupe and the others.
((Nothing personal, she just in a bad mood razz ))
Vestakia giggled at Hunters responce to the duel. "One i am not a girl, im a woman thank you, and two, here in Argonos, if your 'okay' with a sword it means you are near master but you have somthing your even better at so a sword is not needed most of the time." she explained. "In Argonos, if you cant weild a sword you might as well live with the Fae back in *Arema'thelia. besides i would be more worried about yourself getting hurt." she teased Stopping beside him and looking up at the elf girl, she took a small stpe back when she jumped down to threated Hunter with a dagger, but she didn't do anything, just raised her eyebrows in an amused fasion and waited till she left. "I'll have to say i have never seen and Elf act like that before." she commented crossing her arms infront of her. "You people must really come from the outlands.." she mused, mostly to herself.
That's what I get for trying to be friendly to her...Hunter sighed and watched Sierra storm off before turning to Vestakia.
"Yeah, funny thing I thought all elves were like that until I met your grandmother, trust me though she's mostly talk and looks to intimidate, you get used to it after a while" He said with a shrug and turned to continue to talk and walk, the scent was getting stronger and it was then that Hunter realized that he and rest of the group really hadn't eaten much in the past couple of days save some small animals and berries, "Close to mastery still doesn't mean you are a master, back home my father, who by the way gave me this sword, was one of the best warriors in the village, and my mom...my mom was one of the most amazing singers and storytellers I knew, not to mention her hunting and tracking skills were really good as well."
When he finished talking, Hunter unsheathed his sword, the black blade gleaming in the sun as he repeated Sierra's gesture only slicing into the air.
"Just because you are old enough to be a woman doesn't mean you have the experience behind it," He added with a quick and faint laugh, "Besides, you missed the second part of that statement, I haven't been provoked/annoyed/agitated and I'm really hoping I won't have to fight between now and when we get to the city.."
Vestakia just stared at Hunter when he told her she didn't have the experience to be a woman, her red eye seemed to glow a little, and she clenched her fists to her side. "I have had enough experience with trying to be grown up...you even know what is like to be poke and proded everyday with a hot metal rod, only to have the flesh be healed and burned all over again so each time the experience is fresh?" her fangs seemed to enlongate just a little, the two canines poking out from below her upper lip. "And that was only the beginning of my pain...sometimes...its good to remember how to be a child, to forget what its like in the life of an adult." she said and looked up at the sky as the sun started to go down, even though it was mid-day...winter was coming. Vestakia though of what he said of his parents and looked at the ground. "Somtimes i blame them...for not being there, wondring if they even thought of me when they ran into that building...how i would feel about their death, i know they knew that when they went in they wouldn't come out...why wern't they there to protect me..." she said trying to hold back her tears, though a single one slipped down her cheek. "Sorry..." she said wiping away the tear and turning to give Hunter a smile. "I am a little unstable...thouhg Grandmother might have already told you...it makes it hard for me to make friends, you must think i'm some sort of freak or somthing....its alright though...Some of the people in my own caravan think that, i'm used to it. besides i have Grandmother."
The silver dragon didnt respond to her words but instead slowly shut his eyes, moved his hand away from the cup, and began speaking in a strange language, "sargt di tobor, si huven ekess fehlim nomeno ibleua aesthyr vi regipre. petranas shala ve ekess majak jacioniv wer opportunity ekess ocuir svabol dout xiekivi tepohada ekess majak." when he finished speaking the herbs from the tea began to float, slowly leaving the cups and the kettle. The herbs kept floating, but stopped at the center of the table, slightly higher than the dragon's head. The dragon still made no movement but spoke again, "shala ve ekess majak jacioniv wer anhew ekess restore tobor." Once the dragon finished speaking the herbs began to glow and move in a strange pattern, almost as if they were fireflies performing a complex dance.
Minutes passed and the leaves continued their dance, but suddenly they stopped. The leaves floated in place for a few seconds before slowly moving closer to the center of the table. Once the leaves came close to each other they began to merge together, ever so slowly forming into a small jewel. When the jewel was complete the dragon slowly opened his eyes and looked up at the gem. He slowly reached his hand out and gently took hold of it, almost as if were a statue made of sand ready to collapse, and examined it. The gem was no bigger than his eye and shined an emerald green. The dragon took one last look at the gem before holding his hand out again, "Here," he said resting the small gem in his palm, "the Shard of Restoration. It isnt much to look at, but its powers will amaze you." he said with a kind smile on his face.
Translation:
-Guardian of Life, I wish to grant this humble woman a gift. Please allow me to give her the opportunity to see what your people had to give.
-Allow me to give her the jewel to restore life
Hunter knew that Vestakia was angry, or at least he thought he knew because he felt the same way only his anger was more of annoyance and frustration than anything.
"You're right, I don't know what that's like and it sounds painful," He whispered through gritted teeth, but looking forward and continuing to walk in that direction, "but tell me this: do YOU know what it's like to be accused of a crime you didn't commit? Sold off as a peace offering by your friends, family, and loved ones? Not willing to make new friends because of the fear that they will betray too? Finally then building up the courage to try again only to have two of them die right in front of your eyes to where you have nightmares every night about it? And to top it all off someone you think you know and would like to think is your friend and ally almost freakin' stabs you for trying to be nice?!
He had more to say, but bit his tongue when he heard the tone in her voice change dramatically and he turned just in time to see her wipe something away from her face and mention her thoughts about being a freak.
"You forget you are talking to a nine-tailed, human-looking fox, who is traveling with a dragon-kin, elf, lion, and someone that looks like a creepy scarecrow" Hunter said, the agitation in his voice slowly leaving and his mood becoming more like a big brother even though from what he could tell the were about the same age give or take a year, "all of which escaped from a psycho king's arena and from the sounds of things will have to go back there and 'deal with him'...trust me Vestakia, our little group of four are the definition of freaks. "
Hunter smiled and laughed quietly and quickly. And you never met Dante and Re'nah...
He barely had time to stop himself from walking into the fire pit where the meat was being cooked and once he regained his balance, sliced a piece off with his sword and quickly took a bit before the cooks could say anything about it.
"I'll tell you what." he said in between bites "I could use the practice of fighting in the twilight/dark, if you want and it would make you feel better I'd be happy to follow through on that duel, but only as a friendly spar first sign of blood we stop and whoever draws it wins, if you feel up for it and if it would at least make one other person here not in a bad mood as soon as I finish this."
Sierra could smell the food and she couldn't help but turn towards the fire and look at it. "Ugh." She moved away from the tree, disgusted by the fact that she had to move from her solitary place back towards the others. She moved around and avoided the others, then got herself some food, then went back over to the tree she had just left and sat at the base where she could watch everyone moving about the caravan as she ate.
Today:
Lucy had been finishing up his nap that was rudely interrupted. When he woke up he helped himself to the free food, then walked around to update himself on all the others activities. The dragon was no where to be seen, the fox boy was chatting with the fox girl, and the warrior cow, Sierra, was was leaning against a tree, eating. He thought she would be cleaning her weapons for the five billionth time. He wasn't even sure why people would clean weapons of death so often, they don't have to be perfectly clean to kill people. He walked over to her, maybe they could talk, it Would be better then nothing. He walked over her and attempted at conversation "hey...so what do you think of the food?"
Vestakia beamed at Hunter and nodded. "I can deal with that, i wasn't planning on a deadly duel." she said before staring at the peice of meat, it was too cooked for her by now and she already had her share. she then turned her attention back to Hunter. "Follow me." she said turning away from the Caravan and running off into the woods, knowign the perfect place for their little spar.
Grandmother gently took the stone from his hands and let her old wise eyes look over it. "A very kind and generous gift young dragon, the stone reminds me of a necklace i was given many years ago..." she said refering to the emerald color. "I lost it when Tal'rukk came into rule along with someone i loved most dearly." she said still staring at the stone as it rested in her hand and she smile sadly. "I will hang on to it, to greedily use such a blessing would be a waste." she said closing her eyes and whispering to herself, the stone floating upwards and a silver string of light surrounded it and wrapped its way around the stone untill it floated back into her hand wrapped in a silver chain. she opened her eyes again and slipped it around her neck for safe-keeping. "Now, why dont you go out and eat with the others before there is nothing left, the men around here eat like a pack of wolves some nights." she said her kind smile still resting on her face.
Firion listened to he short story, he was actually quite surprised that it matched a previous necklace she had, but if she was pleased with the gift that was all that mattered. Then, he slowly got up and turned away, "Thank you for the tea Time Seer." he said before heading out of the tent. When he got outside he had to squint his eyes to the sudden change of light. After letting his eye adjust he decided to look around the area, the two fox beings were nowhere to be found, strangely neither was Sierra either. The dragon only shrugged and walked over to where the people were preparing their meals.
Sierra was taking small bites as she chewed thoughtfully, fortunately she wasn't as ticked off as she was before she started eating. At first she was going to ignore Lucy but she spoke anyway, "It's better than what we've been eating." Probably the only best thing they've eaten since before the arena since she assumed, the food served to the captives there probably wasn't good. She grunted, "Humph, I was beginning to believe that everything was going to taste like ash. It's amusing what herbs and spices can do." She stopped a moment as she realized that that was probably the most she had ever spoken within the group…whatever… She was either finally warming up to them or it was because she didn't have anything else to think about to keep her mind busy.
Hunter sighed and looked at the meat that was still left in his hand and set it down back on an unused but warm part of the grill. "Nobody, touches that unless they want to lose that hand." Hunter said through barred teeth, a hint of a feral growl in his voice, before turning to follow the fox-girl into the forest hoping that she wasn't too fast to keep up with.
Vestakia was fast, but fortunately for Hunter she wasn't much faster than he was and after a few minutes of following the sounds of her crashing through the underbrush, he caught up to her and caught up to her
"You know I was thinking that we could just fight in the caravan, avoiding the people would have made the challenge a bit more fun, besides how is throwing knives any different than fighting?" He asked, a tone of childish playfulness in his voice, "How far away from everyone are we going anyways?"
Vestakia stopped not even half a mile away from the caravan in a small clearing that she had found before she had gone looking for the champions. "throwing knives is just a pass time, and Grandmother dosn't really approve of fighting inside the camp so i find places like this to train myself." she said and reached into one of the bags at her belt and pulled out another peice of meat wrapped in a type of parchment, apperently she had taken more then what everyone had first thought. she took a bite before wrapping it back up and stuffing it into the side pouch again. "don't worry, i didn't bring us far, if the caravan is in trouble we are close enough to hear it." she walked farther out into the clearing and she unsheathed her blade before turning to face Hunter. "ladies first." she taunted playfully.
